Alien Abduction of the Month

An Alien Assassin for April

Rate this book
He’s a ruthless assassin. She’s his forbidden obsession.
Khal-Jaek
I was sent to retrieve her. Now I can’t let her go.

April was supposed to be a simple job—track her down, bring her back, get paid. But the moment I find her, everything shifts.

She’s smart, stubborn, and too damn tempting for her own good.
She doesn’t trust me, and I don’t blame her.
I’m a killer, a shadow in the dark, and I don’t save people.

Yet, with every day that passes, every heated glance, every sharp-tongued argument that ends in breathless silence, I feel my control slipping. She’s unraveling me. Making me forget who I am.
Every time she fights me, I want to pin her down and show her what it means to lose control.

I should walk away.
But I won’t.
Because the only thing more dangerous than losing her… is letting her go.

April
I escaped captivity. Now I’m trapped with him.

Khal-Jaek is lethal, relentless, and completely unreadable. One moment, he’s saving me. The next, he’s pinning me against a wall, his voice thick with warnings I don’t understand.
I hate him for making me want things I swore I’d never need again—protection, heat, him.

But I see what this is. A dangerous game. A war between what we should be and what we can’t stop craving.

If I give in, I’ll be his. And that’s the most dangerous fate of all.

🔥 A scorching alien romance packed with high-stakes danger, forbidden desire, and a ruthless hero who will burn the galaxy down to protect the woman who should never have been his.

💥 Forced proximity. Survival stakes. Slow-burn tension that ignites into an inferno. A fierce heroine who won’t surrender. A deadly alien assassin who will fight for her.

I picked this up for a Book Challenge: Read a book with a character named April and since I've already been down the alien spice rabbit hole with books like Ensnared and Ice Planet Barbarians, I figured I knew what I was signing up for.

I did not expect to spend half the book genuinely annoyed.

The premise is fine. The tension is there. But April herself? I couldn't get past the choices made around her character. She is supposed to be a scientist, we learn at the beginning of the book, but she never does anything smart???
Khal-Jaek tells her point-blank: dangerous planet, stay put, don't talk to anyone. What does she do? Takes herself on a little stroll. 💀

At one point she insists on joining him on a highly dangerous mission. He's a trained assassin. She has zero combat experience, zero knowledge of alien tech, zero understanding of local customs. So what exactly is she contributing?? The book never really answers that.

It just felt very forced, like the plot needed her there rather than her character actually earning it.

Don't get me started on the April Showers. How many times do we read about him showering in this book 4? 5?

I genuinely love when alien romance gives us a smart, capable FMC who holds her own. April had all the setup for that and it just never really paid off. :(

Overall, if you're just looking for a quick alien romance fix, you might enjoy it more than I did. But if a capable FMC matters to you, this one might annoy you as much as it did me. I'll stick to other spicy alien authors for now.

April had volunteered to become an alien surrogate to be near her sister. But slavers attacked their ship and she was shoved into an escape pod alone. She has yet to learn where she is or where her sister, Midori is. Khal-Jaek is an alien assassin who owes the king a favor. He has no love for slavers and although reluctant, agrees to search for the human. He lands on the planet of her last known location and with a rocky introduction, April is rescued. Finding out her sister is safe is a relief but April wants revenge on the slaver who attempted to kidnap them. She hires Khal to assassinate the kingpin slaver and that is when the adventure REALLY begins! The book was exciting, full of action and steam, and as thrilling as the previous books. If you need an escape that will keep you flipping pages this is another wonderful offering by Lindy Moonhill. I received an ARC of this book. I purchased my copy as well

Lindy Moonhill’s An Alien Assassin for April is a part of the Alien Abduction Romance of the Month series. This time Khal-Jaek is sent to save April, one of the human women formerly abducted, saved, and sent off in a pod as the ship was attacked. He has to fight off space bounty hunters to save April. Then she realizes they could make a difference by killing off Lord Krissayr, the leader of the area slave trade. Meanwhile, she and Khal are falling for each other as he nearly dies twice while saving her life! What an adventure!

OMG 😱 I absolutely loved this alien and human romance . It was action steamy page turner and the suspense was totally intense and it was worth reading it was mind blowing of passion and romance. They couldn’t fight the temptation anymore in this moment. Danger and falling in love and true happiness and desire.
I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones

Loved it!

This is a great story with far reaching plot twists, that are highly relevant for today. A romping adventure, unique and heart warming. Great happily ever after. The female heroine, April, is fiercely strong even through her fearful moments. The hero is strong, attractive, and sexy. The characters are full of strength. The main characters are likable and relatable. I loved it! I highly recommend this book, and this series.

An Alien Assassin for April

It was hard at first. There were mistakes in the printing. I had trouble with who was who. But once the story continued the mistakes became less. The story became enjoyable.

An Alien Assassin for April

April gets rescued by Khal-Jaek. They both try to resist the pull but eventually it becomes to much. It's not going to be easy.
