This book had so many twists and characters that was perfectly portrayed in the story! It was fantastic! I wasn’t sure what to exspect looking at the cover of this book, but man it didn’t disappoint. You follow Annie and Rhett who instantly fall head if heals in love, and things move fast for them, but dangers lurk and Annie trying to figure out what happened to the Nanny she replaced at her job, you won’t see the twists coming. It’s definitely a page turner. I wld love to find a love like Annie and Rhett’s! I fell in love with these 2 characters! I wld love to see more!!

First off I would've given this book 3 1/2 stars but it doesn't let you choose that. There was some parts in this book which is why I gave it 3 1/2 stars and I will get into that in a few. This story had a really good plot. It wasn't one of those like you can see what's coming from the very start and basically can predict it. It is a spicy book and make sure you check your triggers before you read this. It had a nice slow climax, and then whenever you thought and knew everything it twisted, and you found out you didn't know anything at all and I love that. The author wrapped up the book wonderfully my issues with the book and this may just be me. When you start reading the book I feel the first chapter is the most important chapter of the book. It's the part that pulls you in, and I feel there was some things that did not need to be in that first chapter when you're explaining the basis. Do they belong to the book absolutely but they just did not belong in that first chapter with what I feel, she was trying to accomplish . Also when you're choosing a man's anatomy and what you're gonna call it pick one particular thing and follow that all the way through the book, a big ick for me is being with one person intimately and just moments later be with someone else and thinking about being intimate with them. And that was the only reason I took off the stars and half well actually two stars, but those are just things that were my trigger points that I did not like. Would I read another book by this author 100% absolutely..

This book was AMAZING!! Kat did her thing here. First I want to say I’m not huge into mystery books but let me tell you i absolutely loved this book. It was one of the best books I’ve read this year. This book starts with Annie who is starting a new job as a nanny to get away from her cheating ex boyfriend. Annie gets to her destination where she Meets Grace, Eli and little Samuel who she will be caring for. As she is exploring she bumps into Rhett the hot neighbor and his overbearing mean girlfriend. As the story continues Annie learns that the prior nanny disappeared which alters a chain of events for Annie as she tries to uncover the truth about the disappearance of Sophie. Not only does she find what she’s looking for she also gets hot and heavy with the neighbor and boy does the heat spice up. This book was absolutely delicious. Kat takes you on a captivating journey of who done it with suspense, mystery and the perfect amount of spice to keep you wanting more. This book was amazing and one I highly recommend. If you’re looking for a spicy mystery told like never before this is the book for you. As always be sure to check those triggers but if you can get past that pick this up as soon as possible. You will not be disappointed.

Whisper Beyond the Red Door

Annie is looking for a fresh start. And she thinks she finds it with Eli and Grace and being a nanny to their little boy Samuel. A nice apartment and a family she never really had. She spots the handsome Rhett on her first day and she is smitten but will the handsome bad boy fall for the plain Annie. Annie soon finds out the last nanny went missing. No one wants to talk about Nanny Sophie and Annie becomes obsessed. Eli seems like the perfect husband and dotting father, Grace comes from money and seems like the perfect Mom but is she? Soon Annie and Rhett start a relationship and start making plans for the future. But Whispers Beyond the Red Door has Annie thinking that there's more to this town and this family then she bargained for. Can see seek justice and still get the happily ever after?
This was a page turner and I didn't want to put it down. Lots of complex characters and some twists and turns I didn't see coming. Another great read from Kathleen Lacie

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, filled with suspense and twists that had me guessing almost from the start. As I delved deeper into the story, I developed several theories about how the protagonist went missing and who might be responsible. By the time I reached the 60% mark, I was convinced I had it all figured out.

However, the ending completely blindsided me! I did not see that twist coming at all—it left me in shock. This unexpected conclusion truly elevated the reading experience and made it all the more thrilling.

Beyond the gripping mystery, the storyline is incredibly well-crafted and engaging. I found it difficult to put the book down, as the narrative drew me in completely. There’s also a hint of spice throughout the plot, which adds an extra layer of intrigue. While I would rate the spice a solid three out of five, the overall storyline deserves high praise. This book is an amazing read that I wholeheartedly recommend!

PAGE. TURNER. That is all I need to say. (But I’ll say more because this book deserves it 😉). Nancy Drew (with more plot) meets spice🌶️. I was hooked in this book from pretty early on. I read from 15% to 80% in one day and I would’ve finished it if it hadn’t been 11pm already! I thought I knew what was going to happen; I was right and I was wrong. I’ve never really ventured into romantic suspense until lately but this was amazing. The character setup was perfect, the plot was somewhat predictable but I didn’t guess everything. And even though I thought I knew was what going to happen, I still HAD to read it asap. I always love an epilogue that’s months + in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and wouldn’t mind re-reading it in the future. It comes out Thursday, October 3rd so you can get it in a few days 😜. *Be sure to check trigger warnings on this one *

Wow- this is a totally new vibe for Kathleen Lacie and boy am I here For it!
Our FMC, Annie is leaving her hometown looking for a fresh start in West Virginia as a nanny. She is working for a very wealthy family- - with money comes secrets… it doesn’t take long for Annie to start uncovering things about the family especially after she learns that their last nanny Sofia disappeared and was never found. On top of the suspense, mystery and thrill of the plot - - she throws in the spice. Annie meets Rhett and instantly is intrigued by him despite the family telling her to stay away from him. Can she trust Rhett? He seems to be holding back from her .. but why? The twists and turns will keep you on the edge throughout the whole story. Kathleen LaCie truly outdid herself with this thriller… I’m absolutely loving this work from her. Give me more of it..

3++ Stars ⭐⭐✨ WHISPERS BEYOND THE RED DOOR is filled with mysteries, some of which you may figure out, but keep reading there are still surprises in store that will capture your interest. This is a twisted tale with intrigue, passion, and enough emotional ups and downs to have your head spinning but also turning its pages even if it’s just to prove what you suspect is right. The questions and surprises keep coming until the end, and with this fast-paced narrative, it is easy to keep involved from start to finish. There are parts of this story that may seem a bit OTT and some of the intimate scenes and references (IMO) seem awkward or out of place, but overall, the story is engaging and unexpected and will keep you entertained and most likely surprised throughout.

This book was so GOOD!!!! It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I finished it in one day!!! This follows Annie, who leaves her old life behind and becomes the nanny for a very wealthy family! She meets Rhett and they fall for each other, even though she has been warned not to fall for him by her new family! Annie soon starts to wonder about this family as she learns how their previous nanny Sofie went missing and was never found. This book has plenty of SPICE, but the twists, murder, and dark secrets are what makes this book truly 5 star worthy!!! What kind of secrets are Annie’s “new family” hiding? Will Annie and Rhett get their happily ever after? Grab a copy and find out how the story ends!

Whispers Beyond the Red Door was a romance genre that I have never read before. It’s more of a suspense novel with sprinklings of romance in it.

Annie is looking for a new start after she is officially done with her past relationship and she’s given an opportunity to become a live in nanny for a couple and their young son she takes.

She quickly finds out, not everything is as it seems in New Haven.

Will her curiosity become the better of as she delves deeper into the disappearance of one of the previous nanny’s? And will she be able to trust those that have become close to her? Or are they all lying?

You definitely want to read and see!!

Ok…so when I started this book I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. I’m more of an epic fantasy fan. I was wrong. This book was good!
I’m not going to lie….I had the plot figured out fairly quickly. However there were 2 pieces that I did not have all tied up in that little present. This book and author did a great job at keeping me intrigued even though I had it figured out for the most part. I didn’t see any plot holes that were conveniently stepped over. All in all, great book for a mystery/romance with some thriller attributes.

Espooky Mami’s ARC REVIEW 📕

Book rating: 4.5 / 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice level: 🌶️

I really enjoyed all the twists and turns! I loved how the story led us in one direction, only to pull us in another. The tension and mystery kept building, and I devoured every bit of it. While I wasn’t a fan of the insta-love aspect, I do think Rhett redeemed himself in the end.

There were moments, especially toward the conclusion, where things felt a bit predictable. Still, I appreciated how the ending unfolded, even though I would’ve preferred a darker twist. But honestly, they deserved their happy ending—I guess I just have a morbid streak!

I love how I couldn’t stop reading and devoured each page. Definitely will be recommending this one to my booktok girlies!

I received this book as an ARC. And all opinions are truthful and are solely mine. Thank you for the opportunity!

This book was suspense filled. Just when you think you have everything figured out another character has some skeletons come out of their closet. Annie and Rhett meet and it’s an instant attraction and an almost instant type of love but will they get to live out their HEA with everyone else trying to fight against their relationship? I’ll never tell……. The ending will have you yelling “wth I never saw that coming!” HAPPY READING.

4/5 Mysterious
3/5 Suspenseful
4/5 Romance
4/5 Overall

This book had so many twists and truns and kept me guessing until the end. Characters were complex and seeking revenge or hope. so much happens and it's all red flags designed to look like green flags glittering in the wind. It was mysterious & thrilling & had enough odd and romantic moments. It kept me on the edge of my seat playing detective.

I did not expect that ending at all. You think you have it solved but you don’t. When Annie becomes the Nanny for a little boy named Samuel, she does not know how much her life will change. Former nannies disappearing, affairs, secrets, and jealousy. What lies beyond the red door…well you will just have to read to find out.

Annie accepts a nanny job in a new town to start a new life. At first everything appears to be perfect. Complete with a new romance . Then Annie has questions about the previous nanny. Why did she disappear? Seems everyone is involved in some way yet no one really wants to talk about it. Very suspenseful and intriguing.

I basically predicted every thing about this book, and was ready to rate it a 3.5 because it kept me interested but was predictable. UNTIL the last chapter. It absolutely had me shocked! Maybe I should've seen it coming but I didn't. Overall, a pretty good read. But could've done with a tad less spice, and desperately needed editing.

Whispers Beyond the Red Door by Andrea Huston
.
Wow follow along as you try and figure out who is responsible for Sofie's death. Annies Love and Grace and Eli's relationship. While Samuel is stuck in the middle. Rhett is caught in the middle and what is he going to do about it?
.
This really kept me guessing on who was in charge, what was going on? And a big surprise at the end.

This was a fantastic read! This was Kathleen’s first romantic mystery/thriller book and I got to say she doesn’t disappoint.

We meet Annie who takes a job as a nanny to Samuel. Grace and Eli, Samuel’s parents make her feel as part of the family but something is a little off with them. She can’t shake it off. The last nanny, Sophie disappeared without a trace and everyone seems to have their own theories or thoughts on what happened. Annie starts feeling like something bad happened and someone knows. Everyone is pointing fingers and everyone has secrets. It’s a question of what happened and did someone kill Sophie? While all that goes on Annie meets Rhett, the hot next door neighbor who has ex issues but is someone she could easily fall for.

This was a great read and loved the ending! I can’t say much else about the book without giving away clues but definitely get your hands on this book if you love small town, mystery/suspense, who done it, betrayal, deception, he falls first, and so much more!

Story was interesting, but pretty obvious twist. Didn't care for mmc, he seemed sketchy.
Some grammar and spelling errors. One sentence ended without a subject.

Wow

Okay I really like this one. A lot of suspense and a huge amount of mystery figuring it out. And just when you think you figure it out they throw more in there and you're like oh man maybe I was wrong. I love the way all these characters mixed together and everything else. And I love the mystery you have to go from beginning to the end to get all of it and understand it all. But what a great happy ending

This book was phenomenal. I literally felt like every two or three pages. I had a different theory rolling around in my head and just when I thought I had it figured out I was dead wrong. It’s a psychological thriller/love story if that makes sense. It definitely keeps you guessing, and the ending is a jaw dropper. I highly recommend.
