Shadowed Heirs #4

Vicious Luna: An Enemies to Lovers Wolf Shifter Romance

Rate this book
I usually dance on bars, not find myself waking up behind them.

I’m in a cell, captured by the enemy that has been hunting my kind for the past decade. They’re holding me hostage to use for leverage in their sick extermination effort, forcing me to live through my worst nightmare and subjecting me to unspeakable horrors. While a lesser woman would give up, I’ll stop at nothing to find a way to escape this place, even if it means crossing a few lines.

The guy who’s keeping me under lock and key is stone cold, but there’s no mistaking the way he looks at me. As much as he hates himself for it, he wants me, and that’s something I can work with.

Little by little, I’ll let him get closer. I’ll make him believe I’m playing his game while setting a honey trap he can’t help but get caught in. He’ll think he’s breaking me down, but I’ll just be biding my time, waiting for an opening to shove a knife in his back and set myself free.

There’s only one problem with my plan, though…

There’s a fine line between love and hate.

Vicious Luna is book four in the Shadowed Heirs series, a collection of paranormal romance novels centered around a group of aligned packs of wolf shifters. These books contain mature content (steamy scenes!), frequent use of profanity, and darker themes. While each book in the series concludes with a HEA for the main couple featured, there are some loose ends concerning the overarching storyline that runs throughout the entire five-book series. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone, but the series is best enjoyed in order.

Book 4/5. Enemies to lovers, kidnapping/held prisoner, he’s obsessed first, hunter falls for werewolf. She’s firstly and badass and he’s a brute and has trauma.

Recap:
Avery Kessler is the twin sister of Alpha Madd from book 1, she’s a security leader, badass alpha female, and the daughter of Barbie beast, Fallon and Alpha Gray book in six pack series and her twin is fiercely protective. When a camera goes down and she takes Tommy Benson to fix it and is kidnapped by the hunters, her biggest fears happen being in small spaces, but she regains composure to stay strong. Her twin and friends/family are going. It’s but can’t find her. When she awakens she is tranquilized again as Tommy is beaten. When she awakens she sees her captor/Warden, Cameron Knox (Cam) to shower and sees a lot of blood in his cell but no Tommy so she assumes the worst. We find out later he was dumped outside the pack but alive and survived but will have scars due to wolfsbane and silver he endured. When Avery was held prisoner Cam has just lost is best friend Ben in the attack on the werewolves so all he was doing was drinking and fighting demons. He would watch her and obsessed when he volunteered to be her handler, his dad allowed it hoping it would help him heal from losing Ben. Cam was the co leader of the Guild, hunters, after his mom died of cancer and babbled about werewolves and his dad became obsessed hunting them and when they found some The Guild formed in the dark web and found many believers. When he would go near Avery the tension and banter is epic, she is always fighting back and doesn’t let him win, that’s a first. Her first attempt at escape he catches her quickly bc she is still weak without her wolf, but then he uses the LD on her again and she has to start over on gaining strength. Avery takes every chance to push his buttons and use her sexuality as a weapon, and each time the tension builds and he storms out and has to beat it or does watching her on camera. He’s also trying to gain her trust by trying to be nice at times but he seems to push all his buttons and the alcohol makes him confused on hate and attraction. They give in a few times and damn it’s the best sex and kisses they have both ever had. As the full moon approaches and her wolf comes back and she is gaining her strength, she has to stay focused on getting back to the ppl she loves and keep them safe. After being attacked by some dumb hunters that broke the rules of only Cam being near her and almost r*** her, he saves her but she is all emotional. On the full moon she fakes sadness and he comes in and she transforms, what she doesn’t expect is for him to shift uncontrollably and we learn he’s a half werewolf and her fated mate. Averys wolf runs and even if her wolf is wanting to turn back she knows they must escape to protect their families. He tries to chase her but he is captured by a hunter, thrown in a cell and beat by some of the guys. His dad tells him he’s not his and he is nothing to him. Matty, a guy he had bonded with and was kinda forced to join the Guild by his uncle, and real good with computers comes in to dose him with LD but he lets him escape and give him his car, he heads to his mate, Avery. She is recovering but doesn’t let anyone near him when he is taken to a cell. She wants him to suffer like she did but she ends up playing back and forth questions and learning more about being a Shifter and the Guild. He wants to help them, he knows he can never go back and he doesn’t want to leave her, which she doesn’t want either but they can’t tell one another, will anyone ever accept the enemy as her mate?? When her bestie Sloane agrees to have him help block the Guild and find his background. The Guild attacks with a bomb and he fights with the packs, they protect one another and when Matty falters it’s good, but his dad doesn’t. Eventually we learn Cam is Sloanes cousin, the son of the Denver pack Alpha, her uncle Cole. We learn his mom was scared after he told her about werewolves after she got accidentally prego and she disappeared so he thought they died. After he helps the squad block the Guild and he connects with Matty in the inside and he agrees to help and they give him protection. He trusts Cam and he makes sure he’s safe when they attack early. When he’s attacked by his dad during the talk he tries to end these peacefully, Avery runs in like and idiot and gets trapped in the basement when the car bombs crash into the house and it is being torched. Madd and Cam save her and they know it’s real but can’t express themselves correctly. Avery and Cam go to visit Denver and she thinks she’s gonna lose him but doesn’t say anything to be a good mate if he wants to be with his family, but he doesn’t want that and just wants her and thinks she doesn’t want him since he was the enemy. They finally confess to one another and mark each other in Madde keep, on the Side of the road. He starts to take on responsibility st the security squad and people are trusting him more and more. Matty is also working in IT for the squad and finding his way in this crazy world. Avery and Cam grow stronger and Madds starts to like him too, their love is not normal and very strange how they met but it’s strong and they will protect it.

Vicious Luna
By C.J. Primer

Tropes:
Enemies to Lovers - Forced Proximity - Primal Play - Fated Mates - Hostage Situation

Main Characters:
Avery (Luna) & Cameron (Cam/Warden)

Stand out lines/quotes:
“Lets see if you can catch me this time, warden”
“Count on it, Luna”

My Thoughts:
Love me some fated mates!!! This was such a fun and naughty read! I kinda saw Cam’s predicament coming from a mile away but I wasn’t disappointed to have guessed the twist because there was enough going on to keep me interested. I like how Avery was tough but not annoying and Cam, well, Cam needed to go to AA and maybe talk to a therapist, but I mean the route he took with Avery worked out too, so…

I am absolutely OBSESSED with Avery and Cam. This book gave me everything I crave intensity, sass, and two characters who are total badasses in their own right. Their chemistry is unmatched, their bond is fierce, and watching them fight side by side (and for each other) had me SWOONING NONSTOP.

This is one of those books that’s cemented itself into my ALL TIME favorites. I already know I’ll be coming back to reread it year after year just to relive the magic of their story.

This book was a very enticing read, with tropes like Enemies to lovers, bondage, captor and captive romance, soulmates, mate bond and the main thing - werewolves, ML being an IT genius, a strong FL and many such more.
So the captor and captive romance, the cat and mouse and the continuous banter between both the leads was something very enjoyable, but at some point it also felt unnecessary.
The story at few parts seemed a bit dragged on, but nonetheless it was all worth by the end. The romance was also a bit enjoyable.
The growth of the ML from hating werewolf to becoming one, accepting the truth and aiming to change was very beautifully portrayed. And the growth of the FL from hating that she liked her captor, her love being more than a gameplay to escape his prison, or the mate bond between them, to something that she herself felt for him. She has accepted the situations in which he had grown, his change after he gets to know the truth and also her love for him.
At some point the journey of the ML and the FL, the mental acknowledgements, the acceptance and the situations they faced were corresponding to something each and everyone of us go through in our lives, the only thing that matters is what is the path we choose, the path leading to a world filled with darkness or a world filled with light. Both the world's are interconnected and we get ample chances to cross between them, but the only thing we have to do, is choose the correct path.
Coming to my rating: out of 5 stars
Title : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Interesting
Cover: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ attractive
Character development: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love how the characters evolved through the story, how they accepted their situations, fought and strived for the right thing to do.
Writing style: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ it was good with emotions percievable, but at some places the lines felt repetitive
Originality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ the general plot is a bit common, but the author has added few elements to make this story unique
Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ the plot at few places felt repetitive even few scenes felt repetitive
Spice level : 🔥🔥🔥 there is no awestruck kind of scenes but, in general it was okay. But at few places I personally felt there was a scene where it was not that necessary to have it.
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.75 stars so im rounding it off to 4. I will also try to read the other parts of this series, as I enjoyed the author.

Between a 4 and 4.5 stars - can be read as a standalone, but has more emotional impact if you have read at least some of the Six Pack or Shadowed Heirs books.

"The thrill of the hunt is intoxicating, especially considering the prey I’m after. There’s something primal in the desire to capture her; to bring this wild creature

Mood Readers: Blood enemies, he's part of a human militia that hunts and murders shifters, and his unit has just captured Avery (Madd's twin sister) and trapped her in an underground cell. They have every intention to torture then execute her. And she knows it. They've already beaten her friend Tommy and then got rid of her body; now she's next.

But Cam, the young hunter raised in the life by his father Johnathon, asks for permission to be her handler, to be in charge of the interrogation. He believes "werewolves" are monsters that are a threat to human existence, and even though he doesn't enjoy the killing, he obeys the mission. He drinks a lot, he gets a lot of bad headaches, and he's mourning the death of his best friend in the last attack against the monsters, so he has a lot of aggression and hate to expend.

However, this monster in the form of a beautiful blonde snags his attention in a way no other enemy has; and the first half of the book is the psychological cat-and-mouse game between captor and captive. They despise each other, they try to trick each other, they sexually tease and torment each other verbally... but Cam never hurts her the way he's supposed to. However, she's doing her best to use sex to get advantage over this shifter-murderer, because she knows they are going to kill her eventually. And he just keeps toying with her and drinking more and more.

And then, more armed militia arrive at the hunters' safehouse, and they want answers from her... and choices have to be made... and terrible secrets are revealed...

Vicious Luna is book four in the Shadowed Heirs Series.

Five stars are not enough to give this one. I absolutely loved it and would give it infinity stars. This is above all my favourite in the series so far. I know I've said this in the past about the other books, but this series just keeps getting better and better with each installment. I couldn't put this one down. It was remarkable!

I loved the fierceness of Avery. She really was a one woman show with this story. She wouldn't let her circumstances get the better of her and she fought for everything she was worth. She gave as good as she got. She has great qualities to make a great leader and a Luna. I also enjoyed that we did get to see a bit of vulnerability with her character. We have seen her in other books where she in control and dominant, which I loved about her. But when she was finally willing to allow herself to be vulnerable around Cam, we got to see her in a bit of a new light and saw some of her insecurities. This made her a bit more relatable as a character.

Cam's character development was great. He really redeemed himself in the end. But even when he was being a bit of a jerk, I could still see the sweetness within him with how he was around Avery. He wanted to hate her for what she was, but he just couldn't do it. He really had an inner war with himself and we get to watch him fight and see which side will be victorious. We also get to see some of his vulnerabilities and inner doubts about himself, which makes him a more relatable character. It doesn't matter where we come from or our circumstances, each person can doubt themselves and have insecurities.

These two together in a room were off the charts. They set sheets ablaze with their chemistry. The spice was top notch. They grow together and develop a deep bond. These two were perfect for each other.

I might be one of the few readers diving into this book without having read the earlier installments in the series, but the blurb had me hooked instantly. I’ve got a soft spot for captive romance, and when you throw in shifters, you couldn’t have kept me away with a ten-foot pole! Though it’s a hefty 500+ pages, you honestly won’t even notice. I found myself flying through the story without realizing how deep in it I was. But the real stars are Avery and Cam. These two completely blew me away. Avery is one bad*ss mother*cker and her and Cam just blew me away. I loved how well matched they were; how they complemented each other in all the best ways. I’ll admit, I wasn’t a fan of either of them at first, but their character development won me over in no time. Avery is a total badass, fierce and unyielding, with layers of vulnerability she hides beneath her tough exterior. And the dynamic between her and Cam was pure fire. Their cat-and-mouse game was an absolute thrill to watch unfold, and their banter was legendary. Avery knows exactly how to push Cam’s buttons, and every moment between them is laced with tension and chemistry.
Cam’s obsession with Avery runs deep—she’s always on his mind, even though he wrestles with his feelings about werewolves. But as the story progresses and Cam finds himself questioning everything he’s ever believed, it’s Avery who shows him the way. With jaw-dropping twists, unexpected revelations, scenes that are hot enough to burn the pages, and characters that will linger long after you’ve finished the last chapter, CJ has firmly cemented herself on my list of must-read authors. This book is an intense, addictive ride from start to finish.

I'm gonna be honest and say that I had a hard time with this book at the very beginning. Only bc from reading the previous books and what's happened and also knowing what the hunters do and stand for made it hard for me to see how Avery and Cam would work. It also kept me from liking him. Now this author did an incredible job with this book bc not only did I start rooting for them but I ended up loving Cam. Like this man has my entire heart.

Their journey was hard but it was so worth it. Even when they were supposed to hate each other they had so much chemistry it was insane. When he was supposed to be hurting her and getting info he was taking care of her and making sure she was safe instead. I loved watching them lose their minds bc they couldn't understand or deny the pull that they had towards each other. They were perfect for each other in every way and if meeting under those circumstances was the only way for them to meet then so be it.

Cam definitely made up for everything. Not only in showing Avery how much he cares/loves her but in helping the packs too. Towards the ending I felt so bad for him cause all he wanted was to fit in somewhere and was struggling with that 😭😩. Anyways he grew on me a lot. Avery was fierce. From the start she was someone that doesn't give up and would do anything even risk her life for the people she loves.

I loved how she was able to understand Cam. She listened to him and helped him understand everything about himself. She saw a side to him that no did. I really loved their story. They captivated me from the jump. I think out of all the ones I've read from this series these two definitely jumped to the top of my list of favorite couples.

I came to really like Matty. Hopefully he gets his own book and has a happy ending.

Avery and Cam
C.J. is an auto-read for me. This book just confirmed it once more.
Such a different story from the other books, a little bit darker from the previous, yes but nothing that triggering. Just a pinch of darkness more just as light as a cat's step.
Things I loved:
-Even though Avery was locked in a cage the real prisoner was Cam - I mean from Avery's existence. This girl occupied his mind 24/7 and even though he thought that it was out of the question being with a monstrosity aka a werewolf when the real thing happened he just couldn't stop. And vice versa for Ave's, too. He was the enemy but for them, the forbidden and wrong seemed so RIGHT.
-The bander and bickering between them. I loved how Aves pushed his buttons all the time.
-The steamy moments. Well, their first time was really like dirty like the animals they are. Great example of Pr!mal Pl4y clap, clap!
-The found family trope. I was so glad that Cam found his origins because deep inside from the beginning of the book when his father pushed him to his limits he sustained because he craved his acceptance. It seems that not only did he find a family, but all of them cared and welcomed him so wholeheartedly. Oh, and I suspected from the first moment he met Sloane who his father was!
-Writing style and hooking that CJ always manages to accomplish in all her books. Never a dull moment. Actioned full and all the package of a shifter romance.
- Snippets of River and excitement for her book. Well, Cannot f! wait!
All in all just a great book. Run to read cause you really don't know what you're missing!
HIGHLY, TOTALLY, ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!

Vicious Luna is a perfect Enemies to Lovers dark romance book with Fiesty shifter FMC (Avery) & Morally Gray Hunter MMC (Cam). They are enemies and hate each other but at the same time desire and crave for each other. There's a fine line between Love and Hate.

Avery is Alpha's sister who finds herself in a hostage situation. cameron ( Cam) is the hunter of the Guild. From the beginning they both were attracted to each other. Cam's broody bad boy vibes and Avery's fiery , strong willed nature worked for them as they can't resist and be drawn to each other. I love the angst , Spice 🔥 and banter between them.❤️ He is obsessed with her and totally whipped. She is drawn to his startlingly attractive and sinister looking personality. She challenges him and He threatens her. Both are like Fire & Flames with totally explosive chemistry ❤️‍🔥 It is difficult to say who is a hunter and who is prey.

When the Fate plays its part , their roles reversed and their relationship takes a different turn. Cam finds himself questioning his every belief and everything he knows. Avery supports him and shows him the right directions in his journey of finding his true self and his right place where he actually belongs.

The twists and turns in the story and secrets about Cam's lineage was a big surprise and it makes this story more interesting to read and I am in AWE 😍 How C.J. interconnected everything so wonderfully !

Go and Read this book it's So Awesome. I highly recommend it !

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that’s consumed my soul like this one! 🤯 It’s been about a week since I finished it, and I’m nowhere near getting over it. I absolutely devoured this book and would happily do it all over again!

Avery is one of the most badass FMCs I’ve come across in fantasy! She was an absolute gem to read, and I found myself cheering her on from beginning to end. 🙌

Cam was perfection in so many ways, and I loved his character arc throughout the book. 😍 He definitely underwent the biggest transformation, and it was incredibly well-written!

The side characters truly made this book shine in so many ways. 🌟 I’m so glad their stories are out there, too, because I couldn’t get enough of them!

This was my first werewolf/shifter book in many, many years (think Twilight days 🐺), so I was honestly a little apprehensive about diving back into that world. But this book has definitely pushed the shifter trope to the top of my favorites list! 🔥

If you’re a Twilight fan, especially if you were Team Jacob, this book will blow all your werewolf fantasies out of the water! 🖤

Vicious Luna
By @c.j.primer
5 ⭐ / 4.5🔥🌶

C.J. Primer is the one who started my journey as a Reviewer. I started reading her original Six-Pack Series and was immediately hooked. Little did I know it was only the beginning of an obsession. Like fine wine, @c.j.primer ‘s stories just keep getting better and better! Each one upping the one before as C.J. explores new depths of her talent for writing. Her Shadowed Heirs Series is even better than the original and with each book in this series it just keeps getting hotter and hotter.

Vicious Luna is Book 4 in the Shadowed Heirs Series and IT. IS. MY. ABSOLUTE. FAVORITE. C.J. combines my love for paranormal romance with dark romance in a way that will leave you twisting in your seat.

Cam and Avery are HOT. HOT. HOT. A morally grey shifter hunter vs a strong feisty shifter. As we’ve seen in previous books of the series, Avery can be just as badass as any Boss Babe, I mean her mother is Barbie Beast. The banter and growth for these two as enemies to lovers and individuals is amazing.

The mystery behind Cam’s past was one we all speculated from the beginning but once it was out of course it wasn’t without some drama and angst. However, in the end the Six-Pack squad always finds a way to accept and integrate you as one of their own.

In true C.J. fashion, the book is not without its twists and turns that keep you on your edge and run you through every emotion there is but as always you just have to trust the process because in the end C.J. always leaves us with a HEA.

THIS IS A MUST ADD TO YOUR TBR TODAY!!!! YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!

"on… yeah, I’m fucked. I must’ve watched Beauty and the Beast too many times growing up because even though I’m literally being held prisoner, his whole vibe is totally working for me ,"Luna

Just like the other books, is this series I was drawn in from the very first chapter. I enjoy reading a series where you get cross-over characters from the other books that you have read already. It's like an added bonus and just bulids on those character developments. The main female character, Luna, is fierce and fisty. Loyal as hell with a quick mouth that tends to get her in tricky/sticky situations. And who doesn't like a broody shredded tattooed Alpha main male character. The sexual tension between them was electrical charged, and so satisfying to see how they unraveled. This book was a tad darker than the other three books in this series but didn't overshadow the way the series has been written so far. The plot keeps you turning those pages, so if you love a good enemies to lovers book filled with suspense and a lot of heat, I most definitely recommended this book

Vicious Luna is the 3rd C J Primer book I have dove into, even though I have read them completely out of order to keep up with new releases!

This was the first Wolf female human male book that I’ve read and I was definitely on edge of my seat going into it, most human shifter books have the female mc as the human and not the mmc. But Cam and Avery were seamlessly beautiful just like the former members of the six pack that I’ve got my teeth into.

The way their connection is hinted and dangled in front of you from the very beginning of the book is mouth watering, I felt like I could really feel the internal battles both characters were having within themselves as it the thoughts were my own. Every need or next step I didn’t know I needed was given in the next pov in just the right way to keep me from putting the book down. There were quotes in this book that had me absolutely withering in excitement starting from the dedication to the very last page.

Cam the man that can and does do everything no one else can, I wanted to hate him, I wanted to make him work harder for it, but just as a wolf can’t resist its mate, there was no resisting The Warden for me

I’m starting to think there won’t be a C J Primer book that I don’t mark a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read

I was lucky enough to get an ARC Copy of this delicious book

I thought it was a very delicious, naughty fated mates romance!

I wasn't as connected with it as I wanted to be, but I'm told if you read the first 3 books in the series you'll have a better time being emotionally invested in the story. They are standalones but reading the others first will help for a better experience!

I loved Avery! She was a tough cookie without being annoying about it. I loved a badass FMC but sometimes they can be so wrapped up in being badass their character fall flat. NOT AVERY! I loved her! She made the best of her circumstances and just kept going.

Cam...well...Cam was a bit of an @sshole. I thought he did have good character development towards the end....but...to my liking....he was still a bit of an @asshole even then. I would've loved more sweeter moments between the two. The drinking man....*face palm*. Cam had me yelling at this damn book. Like dude, call a therapist and go to AA...please!! I'm begging you!

The spice 😍 👌 TOP FREAKING NOTCH!!! OOOO Baby, was the spice spicin' !! I love their chemistry. The room sizzled everytime time they were together.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book! As I said before, I highly recommend the other books in the series first for a more enjoyable read!!

Okay, so to start. Vicious Luna did something with this interconnected standalone, and that is, made me want to devour the rest of the Shadow Heirs books 😂 The side characters were sweet, adorable, and just all around awesome. So you really want to know their stories too!

Vicious Luna goes through epic twists that you wish that the book could be longer! And the back and fourth between the MMC and FMC was cute. There was so much chemistry and sexual tension that in real life, I don’t think I could be in a room with them too long 😂🖤

It successfully dived into different aspects and emotions of the story that you felt like you just wanted to dive into the story with them 💕 again, at the PG points 😂😂

The FMC was cheeky, wild and just so perfect that underneath it all she’s just a softie, like our boy Madds, which I was all for 🥺

I wish I could go into everyone but I don’t want to giveaway any spoilers! But gah! I feel like Matty might have some secret Bear underneath, but I may just be seriously just stretching for that to be a breadcrumb 😭😂

CJ’s writing was splendid, and just really gave you everything on the page so well that you really felt it in your soul 😭

An excellent book!

I have been looking forward to being inside Avery's head since we first met her in Ruthless Alpha, and I was not disappointed.

Avery is the sister of the Alfa of her pack, and she gets kidnapped by a group of hunters when she's mistaken for the Luna of her pack. The tension and banter between Aves and Cam, co-founder of the hunter's Guild and her warden, was top-notch. I loved the fact that both of them gave as good as they got. The fact that at moments I thought "there's no way he's falling for that", only for Cam to prove he was no chump and use Aves tricks against only speaks of CJ's ability to keep me on my toes.

I had a lot of fun playing the guessing game and figuring out the truth about Cam's past. And even though Cam felt like an outsider and like he didn't belong, I loved how Avery proved him wrong, and how he was easily integrated into the squad's lifestyle. All that being said, I think my favorite part of the story was the secret bromance between Cam and Madds.

Quote: “I railed her against the wall, then got on my knees to worship at the altar of her hips because this woman is my damn religion. She’s a fucking goddess, and she’s MINE.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶.5

If you know me, then you know anything CJ writes, I will EAT. THAT. SH*T. UP! And the way I devoured Vicious Luna was no different. Vicious Luna also dealt with darker themes, which, of course, I loved as a dark romance girlie!

CJ's writing style was addictive. She has made me completely enamored with the world she's created. I've fallen head over heals for all the characters since the Six Pack Series.

The banter between Avery and Cam was top tier. She challenged Cam at every point and proved to be his perfect match in every way. They verbally sparred like no other. And the tension between them was tangible! The plot twist was oh so so good!

The character development for Avery and Cam was perfection.

I saw more depth in Avery, which we hadn't seen in previous books. Avery is the definition of a bad ass. Even with so much stacked against her, she never stopped fighting.

Cam was a product of his environment. Cam was such a complex and layered character. His inner dialogue and internalized struggle only made me love him more.

Avery & Cam were messy and chaotic, and just everything 💜

Thank you so much for the ARC 💜

Enemies to lovers never looked so good

When Avery (FMC) wakes up behind bars, she’s not only confused, she’s pi***d. Being captured by heartless hunters with no real chance of escape is a real life nightmare she must survive. But Avery never goes down without a fight, she is Beast Barbie’s daughter after all.

Enter Cam (MMC), head Hunter and Avery’s ‘handler’. Despite his appearance 🥵, he wants werewolves wiped from existence and has been trained since childhood for that very purpose.

The back and forth between the MC’s develops and becomes more, as do their feelings. There is a fine line between love and hate after all and on top of that, all is not as it seems. When revelations catch both parties off guard, will the fragile relationship they’ve built be enough to survive out in the real world where they still face very real dangers? You’ll just have to read to find out!

Book 4 in the shadowed heirs series, another fire cracker from CJ! Brilliant book, brilliant series, brilliant author 👌🏻

Vicious Luna is a wild ride where enemies-to-lovers turns into fated mates in a heartbeat!

Avery is no damsel in distress—she’s fierce, witty, and ready to tear down anyone standing in her way (even if it means playing a dangerous game with her captor, Cam). These two set the page on fire! 🖤

The chemistry? Off the charts.🔥

Cam’s broody hunter vibes are just begging to be broken down by Avery’s fiery strength. But don’t think for a second she’s letting him win.

As Avery says, "Let’s see if you can catch me this time, warden."Cam’s response? "Count on it, Luna." 😏🔥

Expect 🔥 primal energy, a dash of dark secrets, and so much sizzling tension.

This is a total page-turner with Avery giving as good as she gets. And Cam? Well, he may start as the warden, but by the end, he’s obsessed.😈

“They say well-behaved women rarely make history… so get out there and f* sh*t up, girl!”🔥👑 If that doesn’t sum up Avery’s vibe, I don’t know what does.

You want 🔥 heat, angsty enemies-to-lovers vibes, and a strong FMC who doesn’t back down? Then grab this book and dive into the chaos. 😈🌪️

Cam (Cameron) has been part of the Guild forever. His father and himself started it when his mother died when he was young. On her death bed she was talking about werewolves. They moved around and tracked them and killed them. On the full moon they attacked a group shifters. The shifters fought back. During a scouting expedition they found cameras all around a specific area in the woods. They dismantled some of them and knew they would come fix them. They were able to kidnap two of the shifters. Cam was leading the female interview. They would tranquilize them with wolfbane and silver. Avery and Tim were the wolves that were captured. The men beat Tim to death and Avery was going to have to be broken. She escapes once but Cam brings her back. He has unsure feelings for her. He knows that he has to get information from her, but he is having feelings for her. Cam is torn, but so is Avery. They have sex and she is always trying to use him by pushing his buttons. When two of the Guild go down to rape her Cam comes to her rescue. Gotta read the book for the best parts to come.

She's only gone and done it again! Every book CJ writes pushes the boundaries of characters a bit more and this time I really was wondering if they could bring me around from my initial opinions. Each book further builds out the world & situation, and the likelihood of an explosive ending I can't wait, I'm chewing on my fingernails as i'm not sure how its going to all come together in only 1 more book.
This was definitely darker than the previous books but still had the feistiness and banter. Even though the language used throughout and the back history of prior books hints at the direction the story is going to go, if you have paid attention, you still get surprises tucked in. CJs books are like a comfortable hoodie you can slip on, settle down into and always feel reassured of a satisfied ending even through all the bumps, scares, twists and turns.

This latest installment of Shadowed Heirs Series embodies all the traits of Avery's character. Fiesty, smart, strong willed, strong minded through adversity, sexy, empowered, knows her self and what she wants. Even better that she found someone just as strong and like minded to compliment her. This book was definitely darker than the previous but it captured so many traits of the FMC, MMC and their families. Can't go into much details, but the revelations were Awesome!! Ofcourse it continued with the ongoing stories from the previous books of the Shadowed Heirs Series and closing circle to share some scenes of the original Six Pack. CJ Primer never disappoints. This is a definite 'must read'!

Back to the Shadowed Heirs Series (Book 4) with Avery's story & I can 100 percent say this is my favorite book in this series so far 😍 Enemies to lovers is an auto-read for me.

Avery is such a kick ass FMC who finds herself in a little hostage situation. If this had to happen to any of these girls in this series, im so glad it happened to her. She knows how to play the bimbo card & she used it to her advantage in some really serious situations. Which made her so funny to me.
I cant say too much about the MMC without spoiling anything, but Cam is definitely the guy, girls would fantasize about if they were ever in Averys situation 🔥
This book is darker themed with lots of secrets and lies. It was one I couldnt put down.
Read this book if you want a shifter romance 🐺
Tropes:

CJ has done it again. If you love a morally gray anti-hero MMC who comes back swinging with an epic redemption arc and a FMC who strong and feisty with a smart mouth and insecurities, guaranteed HEA read this book. It's darker than the other ones but sucks you in from page 1. Cam struggles with the loss of his best friend and questioning his father's plans and gauging his own morals only to be thrown the curve of us life and ends up on the other side. Will he get passed all the obstacles to come out the other side and earn his redemption? Avery gives us an up close version of use what you got to get what you want. She has a front row seat to Cams curveball and doesn't know how where to go from here. They find each other again, but can they overcome their shared trauma, will they be accepted by all? Buckle up for the ride that is Vicious Luna!!

great book with a lot of suspense , well worked out 👌

This book is a great read. The characters are worked out really well. The suspense is worked through in succession and it kept me on my toes . And the steamy scenes are included, although at times you wanted to move forward to learn more about the plot and outcome of the book. I read this book in a day as I could not put it down. I read it in one go, no longer through an app chapter by chapter. And it gives the story a very fluent and engaging flow.
Engaging read , I can highly recommend it.
It is advisable to read at least the Denver Alpha and Ruthless Alpha to have some context . Although the original Six pack series are the first generation. ( Alpha Gray is Avery’s parent’s book) This is book four from the Shadowed heirs, so the next generation if you will.

Ooolalala this book brings the spice! Get the fan ready! The "love to hate" relationship of Cam and Avery hits the ground running from the very beginning. You do not see how this could possibly work out...but CJ Primer is a magician at weaving a good story.

Avery has always been a wild child since we met her in Book 1 of this series. So reminiscent of her Barbie-Beast mama. I wasn't sure I would actually like her. I was so happy to be proven wrong. She is brave and vicious, reckless in her own right, but so fiercely loyal! To be honest, Cam never stood a chance! Cam's journey from villain to hero is pretty epic and there isn't much he won't do for his Luna. Spice in this book is 10/10.

I give the penultimate book in this series an easy 10 stars! I am not ready for this series to be over!

One of her best books to date

I don't know if I can express just how good this book was. Avery was the absolute perfect mix of her parents and has absolutely earned the honour of my favourite FMC in the both series within the six-pack world, she beyond slayed. Cam was a character that despite being the bad guy he immediately drew me in and I rooted for him, his growth throughout that book was also really good, he is unlike any other character and I love that. The twist in this book is amazing but I love that despite guessing part of it I could never have guessed that whole part. I really loved the addition of Matty's character as well to change things up. I am loving the further we get into this world the more we learn about the elders lives. C.J Primer writes an amazing shifter romance and I already know this will be reread in the future.

Where do I begin? This book was a ROLLERCOASTER! The way things played out for Avery and Cam were just so unexpected. Can we take a minute to just appreciate our spectacular author CJ for yet ANOTHER outstanding book in this series! Cameron Knox is a stubborn, broody, total alphahole that I didn’t know if I’d like at all. It took me some time to get into him, and like our girl Avery I was skeptical. He grew on me and truthfully, the way he loves Avery is enough to make any woman have a change of heart. Avery is fierce, strong willed, capable and protective. She didn’t give up hope, and she fought for her freedom. This book was beautiful and the way my jaw dropped with certain things being revealed, I mean damn. Thank you CJ for this perfection, can’t wait for River’s story!

Vicious Luna is a fantastic read, showcasing CJ's trademark style (that never disappoints).
From the very first page, the writing pulls you in, keeping you hooked with its engaging plot (lots of twists and turns) and well-crafted characters (I might have developed a crush on Cam). The story is full of spice, banter, and sexual tension, building up the romance in a way that feels natural and captivating.
As you turn the pages, you get completely invested in Avery and Cam's journey and you keep rooting for them until the very end. Best of all, the book delivers the much-desired happy ending, leaving you with a sense of satisfaction and a need for more.
A must-read for fans of well-written hot werewolf romance!
