I was one of the privileged few who was able to read it before it came out. Mary Ting takes you on a roller coaster ride filled with love and laughter. Her characters come to life and make you cheer for them. Beyond is a story with so much heart I read it in a couple days. I couldn't put it down and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The opening of the Beyond intrigued the dark side of me and made me keep turning the pages. As the love story continued between Claudia and Michael, I cheered for them and couldn't wait to find out if they would or wouldn't get together.

I have to say that I absolutely love Austin in this book as well. I know a lot of her fans say they don't, but reading about his own unrequited love made me feel so much for him. I just wanted to give him a hug. In the end though, I will always cheer for Michael and Claudia. They are meant to be and it's a beautiful love story that will make you laugh, cry and fall in love all over again.

MY REVIEW
I was set this arc e-copy directly from the lovely Mary Ting. I had reviewed her book Crossroads, the first in the Crossroads Series when I first began blogging, just over year ago. I was introduced to Mary by another lovely author friend that I have made via blogging called Patti Roberts. Since then I have eagerly awaited new titles from Mary and enjoyed each book in the Crossroads series more the previous book.
The cover is gorgeous, it has my most favourite element from the prior book covers. I love the image of Michael's white wings and ow they form a beautiful heart shape. I also love the butterflies and the scenic view on the cover and the way Claudia is walking carefree through the grass. I think butterflies are liked by most people so of course it makes the cover appealing to a wide spectrum of people.
I think the colours on the cover, they are welcoming and without giving away any spoilers at all are a good depiction of certain places mentioned in the books, especially the place at the end of book three. The whole light glowing through the wings makes me think of mystical beings and perhaps the "afterlife" somewhat too.
The colours on the book and the image of the heart shaped wings would certainly draw me to pick up the book and make me want to read the blurb. then the blurb would really sell me the book!
So in this book Claudia has become a trained venator. Claudia's memories of Michael and her time spent with him and Caleb, Austin, Vivian and Davin have been hidden away in her mind. Claudia is aware she has memory loss or as Austin has explained selective memory loss, she has been told it may never come back. however little things seem to trigger little slivers of her memory, and she begins to remember. As Claudia said at the end of the book, it's the heart that remembers love not the mind. this books really shows that statement to be.....aha you though I was going to give a spoiler...but no you need to read the book to find out if/what/how Claudia remembers.
I love the relationships that Claudia has with the other venators, alkins and earth angels. I also love lots of the characters, so much that I cannot just choose one as a most favourite.
Davin is so funny with his "earth sayings" and the fact he wants to try "earth food" even though he doesn't need to eat. his obsession in this book (ok it's a tiny tiny, spoiler) are salsa and chips! Vivian is still the loving older sister figure to Claudia, and Caleb is not as shy around Claudia he seems to have taken on an older brother figure. Austin has fallen in love with Claudia as he has been assigned as her guardian angel now, but deep down he knows I think he has to know theirs is a love than can never be. Claudia's heart belongs elsewhere.
Mary Ting describes beautiful scenes and places in the "other world", she describes them so intricately that you can easily visualize them in your mind.
Once again you run through a whole host of roller-coaster emotions in this book. You cannot help but become attached to the characters in this series. When picking up this book it is like returning to visit an old friend that you have missed. The book ending is brilliant too and it certainly left me wanting more! lots more please!
Of course there is a fight evil against the good, but which side will Claudia be on? Will she even get the choice or the chance to fight and hopefully make a difference?
The fight scenes are descriptive enough that you fell like you are in the middle of the action.
I could go on and on about this book, I really loved it, as much as I loved the rest of the series. I am very "tight" as my daughter would say when rating books in that I don't give high praise very much, but I really cannot praise and promote and recommend these books I feel like shouting it from the rooftops. the strange thing is before this series of books I had always been really disinterested in "Angel" books, I found them "all the same", but this series has totally changed my opinion.
Beyond is a tale that manages to be heart breaking yet heart warming all at the same time
So did I enjoy this? Yess! Would I recommend? Yes! Would I read more of the series?Yesss please! Would I read more by Mary Ting? Yes!

Grab the tissue box because Mary Ting has touched our hearts once again with another amazing story. This story captures you from the moment you read the first page till the very end.
I was gifted this book from the author for an honest review.
Love really doesn’t know any boundaries when it comes to Claudia and Michael. Who wouldn’t want a love like theirs? The Crossroad saga continues and Claudia is looking for answers but no one wants to be the one to really tell her. But there’s always someone that will share if it means a personal gain for them. Who can Claudia trust? Will her heart find its way back to Michael and the love they once shared?
I just can’t seem to get enough of Mary Ting’s writing. She is definitely excellent at what she does. Thank you for sharing Michael and Claudia’s story with us. This has been one beautiful ride Beyond.

"Reading the Crossroads Saga has always put me in a very ethereal place while turning its pages. Well in BEYOND Mary Ting takes its to another level and I embrace the new darkness with open wings just like Michael would with his heart-shaped wings!"

In the book market right now there are a few Angel stories, but Mary's has more to it then just Angels. Its makes you happy like a contemporary novel affects you when you read it. It has paranormal beings that usually don't exist in the Angels world. Its a thriller with all its action and what next's. Beyond just brings so much to the table, that a reader will feel satisfied after finishing the book. Crossroads Saga is one of my top favorite series. I haven't rated any of the books anything less than a 5.

So Beyond is the third installment in Crossroads Saga. At the end of Between we were left with such a life changing event between Claudia and Michael. It was so heart wrenching but a perfect example of a major cliff-hanger. So Beyond continues where we left off. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ (might want to stop reading here) Between or Crossroads, I suggest you don't read what I writing next. It will contain spoilers from previous books. Claudia has no memory of Michael now and Michael is in pain from what he has had to do so Claudia could forget him. Will Claudia remember? Not if Austin can help it. Claudia knows she has a large blank in her mind but even knowing that she is determined to become the venator she was meant to be. Jumping in immediately to her duties as a venator, Claudia doesn't have time to try and dwell on the past she can't remember. She is given task for venators that have been doing their jobs for a long time. When Claudia and the rest of the venators and groups find out that these creepy demonic shadows have been released into the world, they must stop them before there is an apocalypse. Claudia takes note that a certain angel with heart shaped wings keeps appearing when she is in a jam, she can't see his face but she feels like she could trust him with her life. Will Claudia remember and if she does will that help or worsen the apocalypse that is set to come. Will those she trusted be now her enemies? (begin reading again)

Mary as I mentioned above took Beyond to another level. There is this darkness that just drags you in to the story that she conjured with new characters and beings. I am truly lucky that Mary let me read the manuscript even before editing was completed. Then I find out after I finished that there will be a book 4 and that made my day. If you are familiar with Crossroads Saga, you will be in for a serious treat and if you are new or unfamiliar with Mary's Crossroads Saga, I give this series my big stamp of approval. Not all great stories come from big authors or publishing houses. This is why I never turn my back on indie or self-published. You will always find the diamond in the rough. Beyond is just purely AMAZING!!!

This being the third book in the Crossroads saga by Mary Ting, “Beyond” leaves no room for disappointment. As in the previous books, the characters come to life in this installment of yet another part of the journey Claudia has to undertake to fulfill the destiny she was meant for – but not without peril. Relationships and friendships are plunged into turmoil, and loyalties are put to the test whilst the reader is thrust into a world where beings good and evil collide, and the life-altering choices aren’t easy ones to make.

An imaginative plot filled with gut-wrenching twists and surprises, and packed with action; the no-holds-barred detailed writing allows the reader’s imagination free reign with vividly described settings and poignant dialogue. Emotionally riveting, the reader is also drawn into the centre of this intricately woven love triangle and before you know it, you find yourself deeply invested in the lives of these characters – old and new. Naturally, it also has its fair share of laughs.

“Beyond” is an extraordinary story with unforgettable characters, passionately written by an author who clearly understands the true identity of love. Compelling and exciting; this is a must-read for all hardcore fans of the paranormal romance genre.

Over all, Beyond was exciting, imaginative and keeps you on your toes. The Crossroads series is a breathe of fresh year within the YA Market. I challenge anyone not to fall in love when reading these.

Mary Ting has done it again hooking me in an amazing world of angles and demons. The emotions and feelings that the characters go through just capture you through out the book. You easily get swept up in the story from beginning to end. There were some parts that I did not see coming. What Michael and Claudia go through just to keep their love for each other is amazing. Also what Davin,Vivian and Caleb do for their friends show what true friendship is. Love and friendships gives you strength to tackle life's challenges. Love this series!!!

If you find yourself Between the Crossroads and Beyond then you have found author Mary Ting's INCREDIBLE series. Crossroads introduces you to her incredible world. Between leaves you wondering if light or dark will rule. Beyond is just that! The characters, settings and story line are Beyond words. What a beautiful and exciting world that Claudia, Michael and all the other venators and the alkins live in.

Stay tuned!

To think the saga is almost over...Almost breaks your heart.

I have to say that the more I read about Claudia and Michael, the more I start to think about them as friends.

Mary Ting has done yet another fabulous job at bringing the story to life. I love the different point of views and where the story has been taken.

I can't wait for the next installment...but I'm also anxious as it seems to be the last...So sad!!

When I finished reading this book, I thought what a perfect ending, but it's not the end yet, there's one more book left, Eternity. I have no idea who else Claudia needs to fight with since the bad ones already down. But whatever or whoever it's, I can't wait to read it because all the books in this series were captivating, and the love stories, struggle and emotions felt real. Besides Claudia and Michael, I was also happy for Davin for finding the one. But before getting down to the last book, I'll read Halo City, the short story first.

If I could describe the book in 2 sentences this is what it would be:

"Beyond is a love story that will melt your heart. It will resonate within you long after finishing it."

My Review:
I have been a huge fan of Mary Ting’s Crossroads series since I read the first one! They are great books and are written so well. I was so lucky to get an ARC to review. Literally I Eeeeeped out loud like a little kid. Beyond did not disappoint. The story was full of action and romance! Beyond picked up where Between left off. Claudia is to start her training with Austin. With no memory of her past or who Michael is. She feels like something is missing from her life. It’s as if she knows part of her is missing. You may want to have some Kleenex ready for this one. It will take you on am emotional whirlwind. I found myself getting pretty emotional during this read. It is hard to read the Crossroads series and not love the characters. Oh yea, and there are vampires in this one! Not very much, it’s not turning into a brooding vampire book, just enough to help the storyline. During her training Claudia has become a pretty good fighter. Michael doesn’t really like this because it puts her in danger….frequently. I loved how Michael shows up at random. He is basically begging Claudia to remember him. The love story is so sweet and beautiful.
For the other characters! Michael is obviously amazing. He cares so much for Claudia that he risks his life and her remember just because he needs to be around her and know she is ok. The perfect gentleman! I wouldn’t mind if he wrapped me in his wings! I always was on team Michael. Austin kind of broke my heart. I never thought I would say this because I didn’t like how he tried to get with Claudia even with Michael around. His story is actually sad. Unrequited love is probably one of the hardest emotions to face. To see the one you love, loving someone else. So he grew on me throughout this book. Davin is still awesome! I love how he tries to talk all cool. It’s super funny! All the angel gang is back and great. I like how they had a plan to get Claudia’s memory back. Amazing characters!
I finished this book with this look on my face O_O Mostly because of the ending. I will not tell you what happens but, it makes Davin faint. I immediately messaged Mary Ting in hopes that there will be a book 4 because I don’t want to give these characters up. Soooo YES there is going to be a book 4!!! It’ won’t be out for a while but, I am satisfied that there will be more! I love this series and Mary Ting is awesome and so involved with her fans on facebook and twitter. It’s nice to see. I can’t wait for the fourth book! If you haven’t read this series yet you have to!!!! Now!

*****I don't want to give any spoilers*****
I was gifted this book from the author and had the privilege to read it before it comes out. I read it and it was absolutely everything I wanted it to be, plus more. Mary Ting did it again in her third installment of Crossroads Saga Beyond.
If you loved Crossroads and Between then you'll absolutely will love Beyond, be ready to laugh to be in suspense and to cry.
Claudia, Michael, Austin the Alkins and Venators are back plus new characters and a few old ones. I totally love this book I have to say it is my favorite from all three. To have a love like Claudia & Michael's is beyond anything.
Claudia is looking for answers, answers that some think is better for her not to know, but she is determine to find out. Then there are those who don't care who they hurt and will do anything just to gain power beyond anything. Who can Claudia trust? Will she find her way to Michael or will she end up with Austin?
Mary did an amazing job again in her writing and describing to us every single detail. As you read from beginning to end you can actually visualize every scene, you can feel as if you are in the story picturing every mountain, flower, sunset and all the action happening you can feel the love of Michael & Claudia and you can also feel the pain. Mary once again thanks so much for your amazing writing and I’m crossing my fingers for a book #4. If only! One can dream.

Mary Ting has crafted yet another beautiful, heart wrenching, and well written masterpiece!
Beyond is the highly anticipated third book in the Crossroads Saga.
I loved how the story progressed and that she integrated characters from the world of another talented author, Charlotte Blackwell. I did feel however that the story was a little rushed toward the end but without divulging too much in the way of spoilers I hope there is a fourth book!!
We find Claudia busy with her duties as a new venator and dealing with memories and feelings that she can't figure out. She has grown so close to Austin, her flirtatious Guardian Angel, but new desires have surfaced for another mysterious angel that always seems to be around when she needs him. Should she know him? Should she be lusting after him? Time will surely solve her mysteries.
As Claudia tries to sort out her life she and her friends have to deal with a new evil that threatens to destroy them. Will she lose everything she has fought so hard to protect and hold onto or will love and friendship truly know no boundaries?

Another fantastic book in this awesome series!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The way Mary makes you feel the emotion of each character blows my mind. I felt their pain, their sadness and thankfully their love and determination to win in the end. I laughed out loud at certain points and had tears running down my face in others. I already miss the characters and have to re-read it right away.

Mary Ting’s Crossroads Saga has been a fabulous experience to read, and that’s no less true with Beyond, it’s third book. Nothing comes easy for Claudia, the heroine here, but how she deals with everything makes for a grand tale with its incredible world-building with its Venators and Alkins and the demons that Claudia seems to be the key to destroying. With a superb supporting cast (I adore both Michael and Austin) and a wonderfully executed plot this book was total reading pleasure. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I am definitely looking forward to Eternity, the fourth book in the series.

Out of darkness comes light

The book is about the power of love and how it can overcome anything when it is true. Claudia and Michael's love is truly tested when Claudia's memories are erased, including those of Michael, in order for her to put all of her attention into becoming a venator (demon fighting angels). Her memories are starting to break through especially the dreams of a man whose voice makes her tingle.
Michael thought he was doing what was best for Claudia but he didn't know that it would hurt this much. When Claudia is again under threat he will have to push down the pain in order to help save her.

ARC kindly provided by Mary Ting in exchange for an honest review.

Review

Since the previous novel in the series, 'Between', a lot had been introduced. Vampyrs or vampires have been presented as fallen angels who've been changed be a witch into creatures needing blood to sustain themselves. I found this particularly interesting because of the way the author decided to integrate this particularly popular fantasy creature. I couldn’t wait to delve in!
It was a slow beginning for 'Beyond' I would sometimes get bored with the course of events but meetings between Claudia and Michael always kept me going. The story reminded me so much of 'Beauty and the Beast' because of the way Michael kept Claudia from looking him in the face – as if hiding his beastliness. There were lots of mundane everyday life moments for me that I thought unnecessary.
Characters continued to evolve and develop in 'Beyond'. I saw different sides to character reveal itself and shine and learned new things about them. They were all easily distinguishable, not from the way they appeared or spoke, but from the way they acted and their thoughts. I loved that! Each added their own to the overall story and it was great fun returning to them once again!
The plot was a bit...dry...at times for lack of better word. I would have dearly loved to see a subplot going from the villains point of view! There were some glimpses of them in the beginning and they really thrilled me but at other times they would disappear for ages and leave me high and dry. The chapter endings could also use a bit of a cliff-hanger as they would really encourage readers to continue turning those pages.
'Beyond' is told in third person past tense throughout the majority of the novel. Although I favour this "person" I have continually found it awkward to read throughout the novel and at times in the previous. It hadn't really let me connect. I know that in previous situations – such as the prologue – where the author wrote in first person, I found it a lot better. Claudia's perspective IS written in first person though whenever the author deviated from her to another character's perspective, it was strange. Slightly abrupt and very detaching, but a good use of style to differentiate between different characters and their views. However, a downfall to the author's style which I've noticed this time round was that the author did not stay consistent with Claudia's perspective. She would often alternate between using first person and third person. This majorly confused for me and was very jolting, too. This was probably the main reason that I have been unable to bond with Claudia in one of the previous novels in the series.
The author also had a tendency to state the obvious and leave very little to the imagination. It was slightly restrictive and it showed the author's weaker writing side. Words or phrases were also repeated which was okay, but something that should also be worked on. I believe that Mary Ting could also work on her prose due to its overly simplistic nature at times.
Unfortunately, there wasn't as much about vampires as I hoped there would be. In fact, there was hardly anything about them except in the beginning. I was extremely sad as I believed the author had something quite clever up her sleeve and it would have done the book well if she chose to make vampires key creatures/beings in her novel. It really would have put a spice and edge to the plot and the action.
The ending was beautiful. A wonderful little surprise lies in store for our characters. Seriously, I closed the novel and sighed. I’m still giddy from the way it ended!
The grammar could have been worked on but everything else was quite good. There were a few typos but no spelling mistakes. Overall, a well edited self-published novel.
Congratulations to Mary Ting on publishing the THIRD novel in her series with the loveliest little ending!

Rating Plan
1 star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
2 star : Didn't like it, didn't find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
3 star : An average book. Wasn't bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
5 star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that its 5 STAR!

Beyond by Mary Ting was a great follow up to its two predecessors! More action, and so romantic. We are caught up once again in the world of angles, fallen angels, demons, and humans.

Beyond picks up where Between picks up. Claudia is thrust into the world of venators and alkins. After having being stripped of her memories by the uber sexy Michael, the casual run ins that Claudia has with her old gang is exactly just that…run ins. With her memories of them and their times together forgotten, it was not only heart breaking for them to see her and not have Claudia remember them, it was equally heart breaking for me to read and know the history that was always there.

But above them all, what truly crushed me was seeing how Michael just couldn’t stay away. After what he did and what he knows Claudia won’t remember, he still can’t keep his distance. The love and affection he feels for Claudia were are visible for all to see, but the one person that he is hoping and praying will remember…doesn’t. All Michael is to Claudia is just some irresistible stranger that seems to stir up certain feelings inside.

Not only do we get to witness the affections that Michael still harbours for Claudia, we see Austin’s feelings grow stronger and stronger for her. Try as he might to keep his feelings for Claudia to come to the surface, his love for her grows stronger and stronger. And could it that the feelings that she is having towards Austin is because Austin has been assigned as her Guardian Angel?

But life with the angels isn’t only about forbidden love and stolen glances. The apocalypse appears to be on the horizon, and all due to the people that were thought as being trustable. The backstabbing and the plot twists and turns made the third book in this saga the most exciting of the three to date.

Once again, Mary Ting shows off how fantastic she is at building up exciting moments. As I’ve praised in the past, the way in which she writes fight scenes made me feel as though I was right there, in the thick of things. The way in which she had the scenes jump from character to character gave me the entire 360 effect I always hope for when it comes to battle scenes.

And speaking of battle scenes, the epic show down near the end was fantastic! It was written with great detail, and parts were written with so much emotion. I couldn’t help but get caught up in the moment, and swept away by the scene unfolding. You can’t help but hate the evil doers in the book, and you most definitely will fall in love with characters, both old and new.

Your heart will break and you will fall in love all over again. Fans of the first two installments to this saga will completely devour Beyond, and will anxiously await the fourth book which I’m sure will be full of the romance we’ve all come to love, and the excitement that we know will definitely be hidden in the pages.

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

This is the third book in the Crossroads Saga. I loved it!

Claudia Emerson is a fantastic character. I have come to regard her as a friend. She also has a strong personality - she has a stubborn streak a mile wide! She is now training to be a venator, a nephilim demon hunter. But she feels that there is something missing, but cannot remember what.

I was very happy to meet all the characters again, as I have come to think of them as being friends. However, I had been incredibly upset when I read the ending of the second book - I had been left in tears! When I was offered the chance to read the third book, I jumped at it! I wanted to find out what Michael thought he was doing! I know he did what he did out of love, but it left me (and him) heartbroken!
In the meantime, the other Alkins are back in Crossroads. I absolutely missed Devlin! He's a honey! I love his sense of humour. However, it was somewhat subdued in this story; and with good reason! This is an action packed read that is full of intrigue and danger! I did feel somewhat sad for Austin, as his feelings for Claudia went unrequited. However, when you have found your soulmate - and even if you cannot remember him, as Claudia did - then no-one else will do. Micheal is absolutely heartbroken about what he had to do, but I think his love for Claudia made his decision for him. There are a few new characters in this book. They have their own secrets, and finding them out is a big surprise! The ending has left me wanting to read the next book in the series RIGHT NOW!

Mary Ting is an amazing author! Her characters are extremely lifelike and likable. I added her to my favourite authors list a while back. Her books are a joy to read (when they're not making you cry!). They are fast paced, take you on a roller coaster ride of emotion and flow beautifully!

I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love YA, Paranormal Romance, Angels, Demons, Nephilim and Alkins. - Lynn Worton
