It’s the coolest ninja matchup you could have ever dreamed of, had you dared! The Heroes in a Half-Shell meet the host of the Nine-Tailed Fox in the crossover everyone will be talking about. When teenage reporter April O’Neil has a clandestine meeting with Tsunade, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village, it garners the attention of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi. They aren’t the only ones who are wondering what the two women were discussing, though. The sinister Foot Clan have their own interest in April’s visit, as they think she might hold the valuable information on mutation research being conducted by the scientist Baxter Stockman. With April caught between the forces of the Hidden Leaf Village and the Foot Clan, it can’t be long before the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show up to lend her a hand! Working with acclaimed manga publisher Viz Entertainment, IDW is pulling together two of the most popular comics in the world to bring you the four-issue comic book event of 2024!
Seeing this issue on the shelf literally crossing two of my inner child’s favorite franchises and mashing them together in a stylistic and beyond creative way, uhh yes please. Now sure this isn’t absolute perfection in its first issue with the weird choice of making it the big apple village and essentially adding more modern science to Naruto , that being said I’m just gonna throw it out there that the turtles are beyond lucky they collided with team 7 as kids because it would be a joke and no fight at all in a few years tbh. 4.5/5
Great artwork and the TMNT in the Naruto style is perfect.
It's only the first issue, so it really does nothing more than have the two teams meet. I look forward to the actual story being presented in future issues.
L’écriture est pas dingue mais c’est une première issue de 30 pages pour présenter les personnages pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas l’une ou l’autre série ! En vrai c’est sympa je lirai la suite
I did not know I needed to see this crossover. They gave an explanation to explain the Turtles showing up there; they're part of the world, not from another dimension. I'm eager to see Shredder and more of the Foot clan.
Caleb Goellner's story is interesting so far, with a thought-out look into some of the scientific details and a theme of animal-human relation whether through experimentation, mutation, or mysticism. Some of the dialogue seems to jump between thoughts, not transitioning well but it wasn't a big issue. Hendry Prasetya's art is the star so far: good character renderings and very intriguing designs for Splinter and the turtles, especially the cool masks. I'm not sure why April got a new look, and everybody else generally kept theirs'. This character design is good and deserves her own origin and identity with April deserving to carry on as she always has been but again, it's no big issue here. You could have this character and April working together.
I have known the Turtles for so long that I've almost forgotten that they canonically teenagers. Even if the Michael Bay-produced movie gave them hulking physiques, or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin graphic novel reached the twilight of their story, the four were pizza-loving ninja teenagers.
This collaboration miniseries brought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Naruto together for a story for two compatible intellectual properties with a lot of similarities and overlaps.
This story is set in the Naruto-verse but in an alternate timeline. This version of Team 7 still had Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura, and notably, Sasuke. This mission to escort April to Big Apple City was given by the Fifth Hokage, which would not be possible if this was the original Naruto timeline because Sasuke resists the temptation of Orochimaru by staying in Konoha.
There are several callbacks to the original Naruto series. This particular mission has the feel of their first mission to the Land of the Waves.
The art is fantastic. The style evokes both the Naruto and TMNT designs.
Firstly, the cover art is so fun and vibrant. It truly embodies the energy of the main characters from both franchises. I was very curious how the two worlds would be blended together and the creator did great. NYC became the 'Big Apple village', and in this AU, there are some technical developments added to the world of shinobi. As a fan of both TMNT and Naruto, this graphic novel was a fun, fast-paced, adventurous read that brought a smile to my face.
Two of my favorite things combine, Naruto and Teenager Mutant Ninja Turtles. The story they brought team seven to modern day New York. To help April find information for her article. With that being said all the turtles and team seven work together to fight and save the city. The art style is phenomenal. Especially the fighting scene. They were so detailed and colorful. I really did enjoy reading the story.
The art is amazing and I loved how they made the two meet and fight one another was very sastisying and the banter too. Also the end when Kakashi used his ability to take their masks off and apparently knows Splinter :00000 !!!! I will say they messed up on Naruto's shadow clone jutsu, he says doppleganger and it's so wierd.

This was such a fun read! It gave so much nostalgia with a twist of something new and different! But it worked so well. I like how the teams pair together and they were like reflections of each other. It wasn't drawn out or added too much to it just because it's about naruto and tmnt. This is a must read if you like naruto and/or tmnt!
Love the art style and how the two worlds are mixing so far! Can’t wait to see how the rest of the run plays out and the two teams come together to face the Shredder and hopefully an adversary from the Naruto world.
Dramatic, entertaining, visual art. Full of imagination. I appreciate the easy to read dialogues on character interaction and development. Looking forward to the next chapter in our heroes journey.
Calling New York “Big Apple Village” is crazy 😭 but it was actually really fun! The art is also much better than I expected it to be. Tempted to read the next issue
Est-ce que c’est bon: correct Est-ce que c’est du fan service ? Un peu, mais l’histoire se place mal dans celle de naruto. Est-ce que je vais lire la suite. Probablement.
As both naruto and tmnt fan I really love this comic. Guys please support this comic we need more collabs like this. Also the art and colouring is wonderfull.
