Alan's look at the arguments, confusion and intensity surrounding the expected end-times order of events helps us all to gain a more grounded, biblical perspective. The key concern is, "Are you ready to meet Jesus?", which we all should be sure of. No matter what your view of the order of things, this book will help to lay out the arguments, and help us to engage in debate in a healthy way, keeping focus on unity among believers looking to be a bride that is "awake, prepared, and deeply in love with Him.". Live with hope, perseverance and a readiness for the "last trump."

This book seems to come from a defensive stance regarding objections to pre-tribulation theology. I know there is theological debate on this topic but the tone of the book led me to believe there is greater tension than I was clued in to. If you are a pre-trib proponent, or have studied end times at all, this book would be a primer with no new insights or revelation. What is very helpful in this book, though, are 11 end time charts and a thorough glossary.

There are several different versions of Dispensationalism and it is complicated by even more versions of premillennialism. It depends on where you think the jigsaw pieces of literal interpretation fit.

Although you won’t find the word “rapture” in your Bible, Pre-tribbers depend on the terms “caught up” or “gather", or the word harpazo and its translation into Latin. I searched 50 English translations at Bible Gateway and found one that had the word rapture. It was done in 2002 by one man who was probably influenced by pre-tribbers.

Gathered or caught up can also refer to spirit rather than body. Paul wrote these verses as well.

2 Cor 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

1 Corinthians 5:3-5
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

When discussing whether Mat 24:37-39 is about the rapture the author makes this statement.

“The carefree, oblivious daily living described in Matthew 24 simply does not align with the chaos of the Tribulation.” Loc 2742

Mat 24 seems chaotic enough to me. (Mat 24:21)

“This idea of the Church being “caught up” was unknown to the disciples and wasn’t explicitly laid out by Jesus in His earthly teachings.” Loc 2708

“Rapture was a mystery hidden until Paul revealed it, as noted in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52” Loc 2705

Sounds like Jesus didn’t know about the rapture.

This book makes the case that the Bible only supports the pre-tribulation rapture. Didio goes straight to Scripture first, then backs it up with history, theology, and a few personal stories. I liked that he doesn’t just knock down other views with strawman arguments—he explains them clearly before showing why he disagrees, which makes his case way more convincing.

Reading it actually shifted my thinking. I used to lean toward mid- or post-tribulation, because pre-trib always felt kind of like a “get out of tribulation free card.” Now I’m cautiously hopeful that if the end times happen while I’m around, me and my loved ones could be caught up with the church before God’s wrath hits.

I’d recommend this to anyone curious about the end times—whether you’ve been scared by books like Left Behind or just worried about world stuff like nuclear war. It’s thorough, respectful, and makes you really think.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars — convincing and well laid-out, but I’m still a little cautious about fully buying in.

This is one of the best books on end times that I have read. The author not only lays out the scripture supporting the rapture but encourages the reader to follow Jesus’ words about always being ready. He emphasizes that the Rapture should not be looked at as an “escape” for Christian’s from the Tribulation, but as an event you need to be ready for at any time. It’s advice to live with purpose and urgency.

best book on end times

I love how pastor Alan DiDio explains the rapture, tribulation, second coming. He makes the most logical, scriptural, easy to understand, explanation I have ever heard. Anyone that has been confused, by all the different opinions needs to read this book, then they can make their own judgement. We that are looking for his coming will not be disappointed ! Maranatha.

Simple explantion

Ever wonder when the believers will be caught up and taken away? Some believe it to be after the tribulation or halfway through. Others believe that it will happen before it starts. This book gives clarity thru the Bible.

The same old Dispensational drivel, complete with the usual erroneous interpretation of Bible passages. Don't waste your money or your time on this book like I did.

EXCELLENT book on the Rapture. Pre-triib Rapture is clearly the only explanation. This author breaks it down perfectly! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
