A great book that can be carried in your bag or just left in the car for when you have a moment.

Each chapter or key focuses on something different you can do to have a better life.

1. Get God's Help
2. Learn to Love Your Body
3. Master Your Metabolism
4. Exercise
5. Eat in Balanced Ways
6. Water Your Life
7. Be Mindful About Eating
8. Curb Your Spiritual Hunger
9. De-Stree
10. Live With The Right Vision
11. Make It Easy
12. Take Responsibility

All very good keys to a great life.

It's a small chapter but I really loved Get God's Help. As a Catholic I pray. It is something I have started doing as I've gotten older every night and sometimes different times of the day if the mood strikes.

Asking God for what I want instead of just praying for things. While I pray, I have never thought about asking for what I need and want in my life. I have learned over the past few weeks to really pray and talk to God from a completely different place.

Master Your Metabolism was another great chapter. Full of all things we truly know if we were to spend anytime actually thinking about the reason our body is a certain way. I am totally going to learn how to fig it so I can burn more calories.

Lastly I also loved Take Responsibility. During times in our lives we need to take responsibility for where we are in our lives. It can be hard to look at and we all make mistakes, we are human after all so this is to be expected. Taking a moment to really see where you were responsible and face it. Let go of self loathing, self disrespect and playing the victim. We are all the stars of our own reality. Be a star!

After each chapter there is a section called Act On It where you can add your own notes.

This is truly a keeper and if you are into self help, this is for you!

Well written guide for anyone wanting to improve your life. Joyce Meyer has a lot of books, but this to me is the most valuable, filled with wisdom and guidance. Any one of the keys she discusses is a start on your journey towards becoming a better version of yourself. Use all her keys or just one, this book is an excellent resource.

2015 always earmarks those who are hoping this will be the year that they can lose weight, get healthy and make better choices in their life when it comes to their physical and spiritual well being. I am one of those people this year. Best selling author Joyce Meyers makes it simple to manage in her latest book, Good Health, Good Life: 12 Keys to Enjoying Physical and Spiritual Wellness. It is exactly what you would want in a book, concise suggestions you can make in your life now that will have long term benefits.

Each of these 12 Keys she explained can be used in any order depending on what you are hoping to work on in your own life. She incorporates the use of prayer in helping to stay on the healthy path, because if your anything like me, you have made far too make excuses and reasoned away everything but sitting down and making a serious commitment not to fail. In order to make sure you're starting on the right path with God in your corner, you need to make sure you're grounded in your church and find a support group who can help you achieve your goals. Better yet, they can keep you accountable should you fall.

My best piece of advice in all of this is if you fall, and more than likely you will, don't stay there, simply jump back up and begin again where you left off. Joyce uses her own examples of all kinds of dieting fads and why some work initially but don't stay that way. The only smart way is to do the things you know are healthy. Eating right, laying off the processed and fast food choices, drinking at least half your weight in ounces of water, exercising at least 30 minutes a day, getting a great night's sleep and keeping your stress manageable.

What makes this short, but simple book work is that not everyone is starting off in the same place. Some exercise but don't necessarily eat great, some manage stress well, but have a difficult time with managing their personal life, and each of these are addressed in just the right dose, to the core of what it means to be serious about getting that temple of God's He gave you in order. Imagine if God entrusted you to the care of His church and you simply let it go! Well that is what we are doing to our bodies. Is it any wonder we are unhealthy, prone to more health concerns than ever before and grab whatever food is available because we are short on time? This is just the resource to make you stop finding excuses and start getting healthy again.

I received Good Health, Good Life by Joyce Meyer compliments of Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Groups for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions contained here are strictly my own. I love getting this to review just as I have started my own journey back to health and spiritual wellness and love the straight-forward, no nonsense approach one can expect in this easy to understand and use resource. For me, this one is a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars.

As 2015 rounds the corner, each of us thinks about what we can change, do better, or at least do differently in the following year. One of the world's leading Bible teachers and a #1 New York Times bestselling author, Joyce Meyer, understands that modern life is hectic, so she has created a practical plan for achieving good health, one day at a time.

In Good Health, Good Life: 12 Keys to Enjoying Physical and Spiritual Wellness, Joyce Meyer provides a 12-key plan for good life and good health that will help us develop life-changing habits for a healthier lifestyle, no matter what your current level of health. By following her simple, effective tips on eating, exercise, rest and stress management, you will unlock a new level of well-being, empowering you to live the fulfilling life you were meant to lead.

Each chapter or key focuses on something different you can do to have a better life. The book shares five ways to nurturing self-love every day, there are five ways to boost your metabolism, there are five ways to be a mindful eater, and there are another five ways to nourish your spirit.

Here are the 12 keys addressed in Good Health, Good Life to achieve physical and spiritual health this year: Get God's Help, Learn to Love Your Body, Master Your Metabolism, Exercise, Eat in Balanced Ways, Water Your Life, Be Mindful About Eating, Curb Your Spiritual Hunger, De-Stress, Live With The Right Vision, Make It Easy and Take Responsibility.

These are all very good keys to a great life for all of us! While the book is derived from material previously published Joyce Meyer's book from November of 2008 called Look Great, Feel Great. I have never read that book, and therefore, when I was reading this book it was new and fresh to me.

In each key, Joyce explains what the important principle is, and why it is vital to physical and spiritual health. Then she makes several suggestions for incorporating that change into our lives. At the end of each key, she asks us to choose to take as many of those suggestions we feel we need and write them in the space provided. That determines if we end up doing all of them or maybe only doing one or two. She says that the important thing is that we do whatever we need to do most.

How much time we spend on each key is completely up to us. She advises us not to rush through them, but to take them one at a time until they become habit before moving on. Joyce urges that the reader read the entire book, and then return to the beginning to work on the keys one at a time.

I love this book because it's a quick read. You can pick it up and put it down and not worry about exactly where you left off. You'll know because you will have incorporated that change into your life as a habit, so you'll know to move to the next key.

Good Health, Good Life: 12 Keys to Enjoying Physical and Spiritual Wellness, published by FaithWords, is based on material previously published in Look Great, Feel Great. But this smaller, more compact version is very handy to carry with you or to keep nearby when you need some positive encouragement and advice on changes you can make to lead a healthier lifestyle.

The 12 chapters, or keys, are filled with practical common sense advice that we have all heard, but certainly bears repeating. Each chapter is short, but packs a message that we all need to learn about taking care of ourselves. The 12 keys are:

1. Get God's Help
2. Learn to Love Your Body
3. Master Your Metabolism
4. Exercise
5. Eat in Balanced Ways
6. Water Your Life
7. Be Mindful About Eating
8. Curb Your Spiritual Hunger
9. De-Stress
10. Live With The Right Vision
11. Make It Easy
12. Take Responsibility

At the end of each message, Meyer lists 5 actions that expand upon what she said to bring clarity or to help you successfully follow through with what you have learned. The final thing in each chapter is Act on It! She provides a place for you to write down and commit what you plan to do to implement the lesson learned into your current lifestyle. These are lessons Meyer has learned from experience. I recommend this for people who want to start making healthier choices.

I received this book at no cost to myself from the Hatchette Book Group for review purposes. I was not required to write a positive review.

I think most of us make plenty of New Year's resolutions that we forget all about after a few weeks because we get bogged down with life. With Good Health, Good Life Joyce Meyer provides 12 chapters called keys that will guide users on how to successfully build and maintain a healthier physical and spiritual life. Each key focuses on one important element and then the user decides if that element is something they need to focus on in their own lives, if so the book helps the user figure out how to take the steps needed. I love the size of this book, it is small enough to slip into a pocket or purse making it very portable. An easy to read and understand book, Ms. Meyer writes in a way that is very easy to relate to. The keys (chapters) focus on issues that many of us struggle with daily, whether it is eating, exercising, or finding our way back to God there is practical information on how to get where we need to be, there is even an act on it at the end of each chapter that encourages us to write down our goals. Ms. Meyer even provides a daily checklist for good health. Not just another quick fix book, instead this book instills life changing ideas that encourages the user to work on the problem areas in their life in order to be able to live life fully the way God intends us to live it.

Diets come and go. Getting your life back on track and feeling healthy needs to be something that lasts. The author has taken well known steps for health and made them relatable. Each chapter covers a step towards good health, both physically and spiritually. The chapters are short enough to get the point across without being overwhelmed with information. The back of the book has some pages to use as check lists and guides with lines for writing.

I've read several Bible studies by this author and enjoyed them. But I think I enjoyed this book even more. It's a tiny little book, so doesn't feel overwhelming. But the author has taken a very practical and Biblical approach to turning health around and making it a life style change. She shares from her own personal experiences to make the book more enjoyable and relatable. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone tired of sluggish feelings and dieting drama.

I received this book free of charge from Hachette Book Group in exchange for my honest review.

The beginning of the book was very basic knowledge of diet an exercise, the second half of the book she got more into the spiritual part and how God has a plan for us even with diet and exercise and how like in all things in life we must lean on him more, and make him a priority, and he will then help us through our struggles!

Short read!

One major negative that sticks out to me was she mentioned muscle tension causing migraines, being a chronic migraineur I get frustrated at inaccurate information so just try to point it out when I read it to help advocate to thuds who suffer.

If you need a quick read, and some good reminders about diet and exercise pick this book up if you want a spiritual aspect. God wants us to be healthy not only spiritually, but physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The book seemed a little repetitive and simple to me if you already have the hobby and the habit of exercising and growing in the field of fitness.

Joyce Meyer is a great author but this book does not contribute anything more than simple beautiful words, I recommend it for people who are looking for a change in their health and their body, but one who puts into practice and does what the book says before reading it I can suffer a kind of boredom when reading it, but it is a good book

Read this book as part of a reading group I'm in. I have a medical background as well as being a wellness coach and I thought this book was spot on! Joyce Meyer takes a very holistic, faith-based approach to health while applying the science and research for a solid health and fitness foundation for anyone. Great beginner book for those wanting to make lasting changes in their healt- the hows and whys. Great refresher for all those on their journey. I love her "call to action" to apply each chapter.

Lots of good reminders on good health but also a reminder that we most partner with the Lord and walk in the Spirit as we work on our health because our health cannot survive on will power alone, because that can change with reasoning!

In Good Health, Good Life, Joyce Meyer explored twelve different keys to assist readers in living a better life physically and spiritually. The book covered topics such as, receiving God’s help, loving your body, mastering your metabolism, being mindful about what you’re consuming, drinking lots of water, de-stressing your life, and much more. She encouraged readers to read the whole book first and then to reread the book and pick out one or two things and gradually try and interment them in their daily life. Then continue the process and make it a lifelong commitment. This book contains some material from her book, “Look Great, Feel Great”.

One of my favorite chapters was, “Learn to Love Your Body”. This chapter discussed why people hate their bodies and why they reject the way God made them to be. One of the big reasons people don’t like their bodies is because some have received physical abuse from their childhood and others have received negative and degrading comments about their bodies that have caused them to live in constant shame. Another reason is we enticed to look at countless media images of perfect bodies. They are constantly showing celebrities and models that are very fit and well put together. And the media uses the correct lighting and they are masters at using Photoshop. Joyce Meyer shared that people who are living with shame about their bodies must accept God’s love for them and learn to love their bodies where they are at. She also discussed that we need to be more focused on our overall health and not what the scale says.

I would recommend this life changing book to anyone is ready to begin the journey towards living a healthy life, physically and spiritually. Joyce Meyer does an excellent job covering the steps to living a healthy life by sharing helpful information about nutrients, metabolism, eating right, and drinking water. But what I really liked most about this book is how she incorporated how important it is to be spiritually healthy and letting God help you in your journey towards being healthy. This book taught me the importance of asking God for help and receiving His divine help and giving Him the burden of what is causing us to overeat. If readers will follow the keys in this book, and develop healthy habits, their entire lives will dramatically change!
