He was my everything and I was his…or so I thought.

Carter Williams has always been my everything—my first crush, my first kiss, my first love.

Growing up together in our small town, we bonded over ice hockey and became inseparable.

Now, it’s senior year, and with his final high school hockey game approaching, I’m ready to take our relationship to the next level. After all, Carter’s always been a star on the ice, and I’ve saved the last piece of myself for him.

After that, we’ll face college together, wherever life takes us.

But as graduation nears and our futures unfold, one question haunts Is Carter ready to commit to the forever I’m dreaming of?

Or am I about to risk it all for a boy who might not be mine forever?

Our future is on the line, and so is my heart.

**Left on Ice is a small-town, friends-to-lovers, steamy hockey romance. It is the prequel to Back on Ice and is not recommended to be read as a standalone**

This book felt like a fever dream. It’s probably more of a 3.5 stars too but definitely not a 4 star. Everything felt really rushed at some points, and it’s kinda like a knockoff icebreaker with a weird ending.

I’m definitely in my hockey romance era, but this one fell flat for me. I feel like the story had so much potential but I wasn’t gripped by it. I don’t even have a specific reason either. The writing was fine, the spice was good, the build up was okay. I think if maybe the story was longer I would have liked it a lot more. The characters we so into each other that it created a lot of repetition when they were describing how each other made them feel. I was honestly waiting for the ending and when I got there I was disappointed.
Everything with Carter’s family was rushed and then boom the end. I know there is a second full length novel that continues the couple, but after reading the synopsis I don’t think I’m going to read it. She says she wants to fight for their relationship just like Carter said he would at the end of this story. Then the next book says that it’s nine years later and she moved on but he still wants her and comes back to their home town.
Idk I guess this one just wasn’t my cup of tea, but if you want a fast paced friendship to lovers with hockey…then I would recommend this story.

Carter had always been Sophie’s everything—her first crush, kiss, and love. Growing up in their small town, they bonded over ice hockey and were inseparable.
Now, in their senior year, with Carter’s final high school game approaching, Sophie was ready to take the next step. But as graduation neared, doubt crept in. Was Carter ready for forever, or was she risking everything for someone who might not be hers to keep?
Their future was on the line—and so was her heart.

I don’t think any prequel has drawn me in quite like this one. Now, of course, I have to read the book—there’s no other way! I loved how even this small glimpse managed to describe the characters so well. Carter and Sophie have such an interesting and sweet relationship, regardless of the fact that the story takes place at the end of high school and their hockey season.
The book is light, fast-paced, and easy to follow. I picked it up without expecting much, but it completely pulled me in. I definitely recommend reading this prequel first and then continuing with “Back on Ice”!

so i don't believe i have read anything from this author yet, but i somehow found this young adult romance novella that sounded interesting since it has a few tropes i like - small town vibe, sports romance, and best friends to love story. the two main characters are both star hockey players, have been friends since childhood, and that developed into their love story around high school. they are seniors looking at colleges together, with plans of choosing wherever they would go together. but then he learns he is accepted to Norte Dame, can graduate early, AND is going to be drafted by the NHL, his father decides that his small town girlfriend is not going to hold him back so he makes him start his new life immediately without even letting him say goodbye. so when all she is left with is a note explaining this and his plans to include her in what has happened, at first she is devastated, but then realizes their plans have always included each other no matter where they ended up for college, so she believes they will figure things out. and since that is pretty much how this short story ends, i am definitely interested in finding out what the heck happened because the synopsis of the full-length book about them says it is nine years later, he still loves her, and she is not interested in rekindling anything with him after he broke her heart. wtf happened and why did it take nine years for them to reconnect? guess i will have to read the next book if i want to find out. this was a quick fast-paced young adult sports romance novella that was interesting enough i will read the next book to find out what happens.

He is the school star Carter Williams, rich, gorgeous, and best friends since 1st grade, with the nerdy poor girl Sophie. They started dating freshmen year of high school. The both of them have plans for the future because they are curtain that this thing between them is forever. There are other plays beyond their control that are at play. The ending was quite abrupt and left scratching your head looking for more. Seriously what happened? Ya so, Noelle left me wanting no, that’s not right needing more. This is the prefect tease into the next book ‘Back on Ice.’ It was a good story but it was like walking and all of a sudden no more floor. High school sweethearts, both hockey players, both v-card, same group of friends including her older brother and hockey coach, old money wealth with matching parents, abusive childhood.

Carter and Sophie's story in quite an intense new adult story. Carter's father is completely overbearing, and after the hectic ending to Left On Ice, I'm excited to see where the story goes in Back On Ice.

I liked Carter and Sophie's relationship, and the way they seemed to understand each other. Their friend group was also interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of their interactions.

This was a really quick read, but had a good hook.

Graduation Plan

This prequel sets the tone and background for the next installment. Carter and Sophie have dated since the beginning of high school but now they are set to graduate and go to college. The cliffhanger leaves you in anticipation wanting the next book to answer what's next? It was a great start to the series and this couple.

Highs & lows. This is a 2 POV tale about a pair of high school hockey players and the plans for their future. It starts with the championship game for both and ends the next afternoon. It is a very small window but everything changes in that brief time frame. It leaves on a cliffhanger full of anticipation for what will come next.

This was great… HOWEVER! I’m not a fan of having to now wait to finish the story. I feel like this book was like a great Netflix series that has 2 parts that I now have to wait months for and the second part will take so long that I will not longer be as interested or it’ll fall flat. Rating based on this story but definitely give it ⭐️⭐️ for not feeling to story was complete. 😞😢

This was so good. Sophie and Carter have been friends since childhood and a couple for several years. They both play hockey and he wants to go on and have a career with it. The night of two important games for them, they finally comsumate their relationship only for something neither of them expected to happen. I want the next book, now. This was a short read, but well worth my time.

Cute

This is a short little novella that leaves you on a cliff hanger wanting to know more about what happens with the couple.

Seeing as they’re high school sweethearts and there are parents trying to control lives, there’s so many ways the story could go. Fingers crossed when I read the rest of their story that it goes they way I’m hoping it does.

I really enjoyed this little tidbit of a book. It ends with an offer to sign up for an ARC of the next book. Nice carrot :) I signed up.

I really liked the characters in this one and the story captivated me, holding my attention until the end. I look forward to the next book.

Sophie and Carter are high school sweethearts who have every intention of figuring out life after high school together. When the future comes knocking sooner rather than later, will their plans come unraveled?

This is a cute prequel depicting the life our two MC lead. It sets our MCs up for a fantastic story following heartbreak and hopefully we see them both grow in love and life.

A Basic but Promising Beginning

Left on Ice felt like a foundational book for the series. It didn’t blow me away, but it did what a first book is supposed to do: introduce the characters, establish the world, and set things in motion. Some parts felt predictable, but overall it was an easy, enjoyable read and a decent starting point for what could become a stronger series.

Wouldn’t consider a YA romance definitely has some closed door romance 🌶️ but ofc I enjoyed!😅

This was Carter and Sophie’s story. Left on Ice is a small-town, friends-to-lovers, steamy hockey romance. It is the prequel to Back on Ice and not meant to be a stand alone. It was an entertaining read. And voluntarily leaving this review.

Book felt rushed. Felt like I read 3 chapters then the story was over…. but it wasn’t! Have to read another book for the rest of the story! I won’t be reading more to hear the ending of their lover story.( Back On Ice)

I thought it was a whole books so I'm a bit surprised how abruptly it has ended.
It was cute however nothing special I guess for a prequel it was fine.

And the book it self is not even out yet kmn.😭

Idk what this was

The book was okay but just super short and kind of pointless. All the books in the series should have been combined into one so it flows better and makes more sense.

was literally so short, just gonna say that. not really worth the time, it was literally just them making out for the whole book, and then carter moving away, nothing really special about this.
