Hi all,

I was trying to find my way as a writer and person throughout my twenties. I won't be writing under my "Jess C Scott" pen name as it doesn't reflect who I am anymore (it's a pen name I used since I was 12 years old).

In 2019, I started working on some horror short stories and essays. I intend to publish them at some point in future under my real name (still undecided if I might use a new pen name for fiction).

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Trevor and Tania’s plan to murder their dad and frame it as a hiking accident gone wrong was successful. But since they’re only thirteen, they can’t just ride off into the sunset. Instead, they are sent to Florida to live with their aunt and uncle.

The major move reeks havoc on their emotions because their aunt insists they can’t share a bedroom (like they have their whole lives). And this makes them feel lonely and like they are drifting from each other.

In the meantime, they both begin to become more aware of their sexuality as well as a deeper attraction that is forming between them as they get older. But Trevor doesn’t want to act on it because of Tania’s abusive past. While he tries to move on to other girls, she becomes jealous and starts sleeping around.

Over the course of their teenage years (13-17) they both become increasingly obsessed with each other and comforted by plotting and committing murderous acts as a team.

REVIEW:

The second book in The Wilde Twins Trilogy is all about their teenage years (13-17). It’s heavily laced with an underlying sexual tension between Trevor and Tania that both of them are afraid to act on for fear of losing each other.

So the tone of this book is quite different than the first book (which I felt was overall more violent). There’s lots of promiscuity going on with Tania (off page). She sees sex as a means of getting what she wants. And there’s lots of jealousy going on with Trevor, who is still a virgin at the beginning of the book and upset about that.

As the book progresses their personalities also shift. Tania becomes more blasé about her sexuality and more calculating with her potential victims. She also pulls away from Trevor a lot and puts up a lot of walls in regards to him (at least at first). Whereas Trevor gets more and more angry, violent, and possessive towards Tania.

There’s still murder and mayhem going on, but nothing as brutal and shocking as the events of the first book (imo).

I did find it interesting how much more murderous and cold Trevor is by the end of the book when he had kind of a sweet and good-boy vibe to him in the first book.

Tania surprised me with her emotions about Tim’s murder. It’s weird to see her so emotionally connected to someone who isn’t her twin.

I’m not sure where the final book will take these two. It’s hard to say if it’s going to be tragic or if they will ride off into the sunset scott-free. We will see.

Overall I’m still morbidly fascinated by these two and their gradual decline into cold-blooded murderers. It’s fascinating even while at the same time being equally horrifying.
