=== Editorial Review ***** End of the Line depicts a train traveling at breakneck speed, and the narrative keeps up with it. The book has many intense scenes, and we hear the clattering sound of the train's wheels as we read. Steampunk lovers will appreciate the captivating world-building with a fascinating touch of Mexican lore. Tony Fuentes and C. S. Kading base Gothika's mythology on the clash of darkness and light, death and life. The authors add fresh hues to this well-known rivalry. Emilio, who seemingly sides with the dark forces, is compassionate and understanding, while Jalin, who should fight evil, is intolerant and bigoted. Fuentes and Kading also examine the themes of fanaticism, temptation, and self-sacrifice. The characters are very well-developed and complex. Unexpectedly, the Voice of the goddess of light, Esperanza, sees a kindred spirit in Emilio, her opposite. This is a riveting mystery wrapped in a dizzying adventure for those who dare to step onto the treacherous train. ~Nino Lobiladze for Readers' Favorite
Tony Fuentes is a California-born Chicano writer now living in Arizona. Considered a Renaissance Man in Geek's clothing, he is not only an author with a weird imagination but also a painter, a gamer, and a practicing occultist. In his writing, he weaves Mexican folklore and sardonic humor. At the same time, he tries to inspire the audience to look up at the stars and dream even further. In short, he strives to give the weird and the wondrous things a place in the world for all to enjoy.
I really enjoy these books as does my son. if I had one piece of constructive criticism is looking into getting a copy editor to help with grammatical errors. sometimes when I'm reading and I'm really getting into it hitting a major grammatical error stops me dead in my tracks but other than that I absolutely love this world in these books and I'm looking forward to book four.
Once again this fantastic duo has taken the reader on an adventure on non stop events that keep you turning the pages for more. And then you finish wishing there was more! I'll be here waiting.
