This book had me laughing out loud on multipleeeeeeee occasions. I loved it. The spice was so good, the charters were so good. Absolutely loved it. If you love some effed up humor and some crazy situations you have to read it. Also, Bennett 😍. Can’t wait for the next one

This series is just too damn fun. I knew this book was going to be unhinged after the pineapple situation in book one, but I did not expect us to escalate all the way to a drumstick up the ass. I was literally clenching that entire scene.
These two had hilarious banter. From book one I knew I was going to love them together, and I was absolutely right. It’s borderline bullying but in the most playful, “I’m going to annoy the shit out of you because I like you” way and it added to that sexual tension perfectly.
Also, this audiobook was the perfect thing to have on while I was reorganizing and cleaning. So many moments had me clutching my pearls. Lauren really cranked the wild up in this one.
The only thing that grated on me a bit was Kendra. I get she’s the best friend, but her drama felt so unnecessary. Like Cat girl, date whoever you want. The whole sneaking around got old and I love sneaking around for the right reasons/when something is taboo, but this wasn’t taboo. There were moments where I genuinely felt bad for Bennett 😭😭😭.
But honestly? Didn’t ruin a damn thing. I still had the time of my life. This series is so underrated and so chaotic in the best way. You just have to kick back and enjoy the ride because it’s insane. You’re literally reading about a bunch of serial killers so madness is part of the journey.

Got this book for review on booksirens.
3.5 stars rounded up. Was looking forward for Cat and Bennets book as I really enjoyed them as characters and their messy hate to love relationship as seen a bit in the first book. I enjoyed it was happy with the story but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. But stil a fun dark rom com series.

We follow on the Slaycation series with book two. This one is Bennett and Cat’s story, you do remember Bennett from Sinners Retreat don’t you? I mean how could you forget him 🤭🍍
Their story starts off with the next vacation being in Alaska, of course we get the abrasive comments straight away, Bennett trying to thwart her first k!ll except it goes pear shaped (minds out of the gutter…it’s just a phrase, at this stage 🤣) Not going to expand on this part. Suffice to say the story progresses with all the other guests, the cattle and their usual/unusual games, we are privy to a lot of spice, some Bl00d and g0re, maybe a little bit of c4nnab4alism (to be determined upon reading) and some fun between Bennett and Cat 🤔 A few OMG! and aww! moments.
All in all, it was a great read for this interconnected series. The story flowed well throughout and kept you enthralled until the ending or is it?

This book made me giggling and kicking my feet. I liked Cat, though there was plenty of push/pull away from her. Bennett was also pretty good except his mmm passion for food. I'll never be able to look at a turkey again.

it would have been close to a 5 stars read if Cat wouldn't have been such a chicken when it came to disclosing everything to her bff. Kindra just pissed me off so much.
Don't get me started on the food stuff, I don't want to think of what I've read 😅 it wasn't funny, it was just awkward and very cringe 😭.
But... Bennett, except for his food obsession, he's a fine MMC. He definitely needed more people in his corner.
Can't wait to pickup the next one. Soon, very soon... 😁

This book made me question food porn lol. There is a scene… you’ll know what scene lol.
But anywho lets start we saw this couple in book one and they hated each other since they met. Now they are off to the mountains for another retreat well Cat was and Bennet wasn’t because he hates the cold but he wants to go to ruin Cats chances at her first kill and mess and bug her so she doesn’t spend time with her Crush lol.
They are next door neighbors and annoy each other play pranks on eachother. Then things change when they get drunk and stranded in a cabin and well hate turns into love. They question what they did blaming it on the drunk fun but now there sober and he helps her make her first kill. But it gets harder for them to spend time together since everyone is sorta against them. Or more against Bennet thinking he would hurt Cat. But the sneaking around was fun. Since they had her Crush helping them (don’t worry the crush never wanted Cat).
I did get annoyed with Cat few times with her wanting to keep everything hush hush because she was worried about what ppls Kindra would think of there relationship. So be warned on that shall we shall we not. Bennett only didn’t say anything because he wanted Cat to do it. He respect when she wanted to come out even if it hurt his feelings.
So have fun reading this book.

I don't love how Kindra handles Cat with kid gloves. Other than that, I have no complaints. I loved this enemies to lovers. The banter is top notch. The door are wide open and it's hot 🔥 and obviously a new food has been ruined. 🍗 I don't even want to think about it.

Food’s only attractive to me whenever I’m about to eat it
And nothing to the level that we see with Bennett 😅.
But I digress 🤡.
Cat wants her first kill… BADLY. Ever since she’s been admiring Kindra (book 1 h), she’s anxious to get one 😅, but it hasn’t happened yet. That’s why she’s going to the winter retreat- what better way to do this than with her best friend at her side at the retreat basically made for this occasion 🤷🏻♀️, and getting bad guys makes it all that much sweeter 👏🏻.
Bennett made a mistake on a previous job, so now he’s out of one 😬; coupled with his mom’s worsening dementia, he needs all the breaks he can get. So to Alaska he’ll go, get some hits in, and bug the F outta Cat, his nemesis 😈.
And then they get lost in the woods together. What doesn’t get lost? The attraction and tension they feel 👀.
And well, what happens in a secluded cabin stays in the secluded cabin…
Right? 😅
What I liked/loved: POSSIBLE SPOILERS
—THE FART scene!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I was DYING 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Tears were coming out of my eyes 🤣. I was 💀. There were other things I giggled, but that scene was one of the best scenes in the book
—the tension 👀. Since I read book 1, it’s been building 😉
—MOST of the 🔥 (I’ll comment down below on this😅). There’s mutual solo satisfaction that happens at about 14%, first forced proximity kiss at almost 30% followed by some honey action 😉. Yes. Honey. Like from bees 🤣. Oral never looked so good with some honey 😮💨. And the way he uses honey to eat was… um… interesting 😅. Tossing salad with honey should be in more books 🤣. We even get some peppermint action 😅. Gotta make sure things taste minty fresh 😮💨. Full 🔥 happens at about 42%, and it’s fast 😬 (good thing Bennett begs for a make up session 🤡, and does he ever 🥵)
—Bennett loves eating cereal and salads 🫠💦
—Mask k!!! Yaassss please 😈
—the vulnerabilities 🫶. Both of them have had traumas in their lives ☹️. I love how they open up ❤️. Bennett’s mom having dementia is heartbreaking ☹️. So many flashbacks of when my grandpa had this and witnessing my mom suffering because of it… ugh… such a terrible disease ☹️
—killing off the trash 😮💨. Look. There are many people on this planet that make others’ lives miserable, and the serial killers on these retreats are making this world a safer place 💅. Sorry not sorry 🤷🏻♀️. Pedos, abusers, and traffickers should not exist 🤷🏻♀️. Good. F’ing. Riddance 💅
—the side characters ❤️. I can’t wait to read the next book. Obviously I love Kindra and Ezro (MCs from book 1), but we have some other characters that are getting books as well.

—the during, aftermath, and even before the bone scene. A turkey carcass?! Really? 😵💫
—the amount of COCK BLOCKING 🤬 soooo annoying.
—keeping it a secret 😐. It wasn’t even a big deal after 😐 all that hiding for nothing 🤦🏻♀️

Absolutely gobbled this up in one sitting and im not ashamed to admit that despite the food trauma I endured during this, its some of Lauren’s funniest and best work 😂🤷♀️ I loved the first of the series and was like how is she gonna make Bennett appealing? Well, she sure did and him and Cat have the best banter andddd the wildest experiences;) let’s just say food is used very wildly in this book, I was clenching and laughing way too hard! Do with that what you will. But a group of serial unalivers as a friend group and finding love is at its finest here 👌

Absolutely amazing series that is at the exact same time absolutely diabolical 🙌🥴 the banter 🤌 the obsession 🤌 the enemies to lovers 🤌🤌 the food related sex ✋ but fantastic all around!
Cat and Bennett’s chemistry and tension was so beyond clear in the first book that it was almost annoying so to follow up and almost dive right into their hookup was so satisfying.
The only issue I had was how annoying it was to keep their hookup/love a secret. Be grown folks. I was really getting angry by the end of the book. Grow up. With that being said still top favorite read of this year and highly recommend it 🙌
Be prepared to have thanksgiving dinner ruined for you. I don’t think I will forgive the author for the turkey stuffing 🙀🫨

Cat and Bennett’s chemistry and tension was so beyond clear in the first book that it was almost annoying so to follow up and almost dive right into their hookup was so satisfying.
The only issue I had was how annoying it was to keep their hookup/love a secret. Be grown folks. I was really getting angry by the end of the book. Grow up. With that being said still top favorite read of this year and highly recommend it 🙌
Be prepared to have thanksgiving dinner ruined for you. I don’t think I will forgive the author for the turkey stuffing 🙀🫨

Зимова версія ретриту зі своєю порцією збочень і фетишів могла би бути дуже прикольною, але все пішло не тим шляхом. Я вважаю себе досить неупередженою і відкритою до сексуальних вподобань. Але ця книга - страшний сон проктолога. До ананаса додалась індичка. І ні, ви не захочете знати подробиці.
В цій частині що самі герої, що їхні дії викликали у мене лише роздратування і головний біль. Те, що сподобалось і захопило в першій книжці, ніби зникло, і лишилася сама відраза.
Я не відчула нічого між героями і не зрозуміла їхню мотивацію до хоч чогось. Мене бісило достоту все. Загалом, вийшов тотальний провал: несмішно, нецікаво, поверхнево і огидно.

The Turkey scenes really were fking insane. Like the whole leg gets stuck up in her a-hole after some ridiculous spicy scenes 👀 I can’t lie, I was fully locked in, it was so funny 🤣
In true LB style, it was mental start to finish.

❄️I want to start this review off by saying OMG Lauren!! I didn't think it could get any better than Sinner’s Retreat!! I have never laughed so hard during a book!! If my face didn't look like 🤣 then it looked like 😲. I also want to say that I love how each book follows different characters, but we still get a ton of appearances from past characters as well as an intro to future ones!!
Lauren outdid herself with the full-cast narration for this series!! Every single one of these narrators were perfect for the characters that they brought to life!!
Slay Ride follows our frenemies Cat & Bennett on a long-awaited winter "serial un-alivers" retreat to Alaska. Bennett hates the winter weather and would rather be riding his motorcycle somewhere warm.....but as we all know, Bennett will not miss an opportunity where he can irritate Cat. Cat, on the other hand, is only going on this winter retreat to escape her real-life problems at the promise that Bennett won't be present....Lauren brought the enemies-to-lovers vibe to life with Cat and Bennett while Sean & Alexis brought it to life & there is zero possible way this book could get any better!! The banter was top-tier, and the spice will leave your jaw on the floor.❄️

Did I love this book? Yes. Did I laugh? Yep. Were the vibes there? Absolutely. Was the spice good? Most of it. I see you asking then why is it a 4 instead of a 5. Turkey. The turkey was the final straw for me. If you read book 1, you know Bennett is different and REALLY likes food. I won’t say more because I don’t want to give away spoilers, FFS. Bennett is the MMC. I actually laughed at his little stuff up until that scene, and then I was gagging. Physically gagging to the point I had to let the audiobook play through the scene and catch up on my iPad. I just. No. I’m open minded. I really am. But raw poultry was my cut off (and yes, I read Butcher and Blackbird and was fine… I cannot explain why this is my cut off, okay. It just is… idc what precautions are taken, IDC! FFS, now I’m gagging thinking about it, FML!). So yes, I enjoyed this book, but Turkey. Nope. Just. No. Yes, I did finish the book, FFS, it’s one scene (that will haunt me…). So yes, I finished. Is it the same type of vibes as book 1? Yep, but focuses more on the romance this time and less on the “activities” they can partake in. I enjoyed getting to know Cat as well, tbh. But it made me not like Kindra for a while, which was kinda weird. But whatever, there was plenty of weird happening in this book. That was the least of my worries, lol. Anyways, overall, it’s good, but check the TWs and FFS, HEED THEM!

This book was SUCH a fun, spicyyy, disgusting (in the best way), trigger warning filled ride!!
I almost hate to call it a dark romance as much as it is just filled with dark humor. Yes MMC bully’s FMC, but Cat (our FMC) is hilarious and just as snarky back! Both characters have flaws and were so realistic and relatable in that sense.
Spicy? Solid 6/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ off the charts 📈 wild.

Yes!!! Love me some enemies to lovers and this book has it all plus some!! Laughs, some tears, amazing character development and SPICE! As always, read your trigger warnings and take them serious! This is the queen of dark romance. And I cannot wait for the cruise book!! I'm ready already !!!!

The chemistry between Cat and Bennett was everything. I loved how they went from enemies to lovers whilst still engaging in their banter, but instead of aiming to hurt the other it evolved into flirting.
Bennett is painted out to be this disgusting eff boy with no heart but he really isn’t, he just can’t be vulnerable with others until Cat knocks down his walls. He showed how much he cared for her and he was the one who stood by her side for her first unaliving, encouraging her the whole time. When he becomes possessive over her I was all in, even with his weird food fetish. I’m honestly surprised at how fast Cat indulged him with this fetish. Those scenes were certainly entertaining.
I will say that throughout most of this book I just wanted to throttled Kindra. She was so unjustifiably mean and rude to Bennett. I’m glad Cat was able to come to her senses and finally claim her man and put an end to Kindra’s torment.
I’m excited for book 3 and I hope we get to meet Ezra & Bennett’s half sister in it. I’m also excited to see more of Grim & Rosie, they might be my favourite couple.

i’m so disappointed!! i loved the first book, it was steamy and funny in all the right ways. this one just totally missed the mark for me.
poor cat taking a (RAW!!!!!) turkey leg up the ass, then it getting stuck, and everyone being served the same turkey for dinner later after they FINALLY get it out? i couldn’t tell if all the food porn scenes were supposed to be hot or funny- for me, they were neither 🙃
there’s basically no sex- and when there is, it’s interrupted, bennett only lasts for three pumps, or it’s like my mormon granny tried to write a sex scene.
everyone acts like cat is a pathetic wittle baby who can’t take care of herself and needs protection at all costs. where did cat from book one go?!
don’t even get me started on kindra. who is this weird, overly emotional imposter?! i kept waiting for it to be revealed she was pregnant or something, but nope. guess she just sucks now too.
and what happened to all the gory killing?! there are like, two lame ass stabbings in the whole book. Booooooo.
maybe my expectations were too high, but this book was such a letdown.

The enemies to lovers saved this book (a bit)!
They truly hated each other. However, I found it hard to believe in their love because it was coated in lust. Once they started sleeping together, their brain chemistry changed forever.
And I would've given it a higher rating but this book dragged for so long. The MCs opened up to each other and they chose to keep their romance secret from all their friends and fellow murderers on the retreat.
They went for more than 150pages to extreme unreasonable lengths at hiding (which I didn't like at at all and had to skip pages a lot)
Also, the MMC with his weird food fetish won me over in the beginning when he spilled honey on FMC at pleasured her but every intimate scene had to have a new food to the table...I mean to the bed. Including a turkey leg bone that he wanted to get in her ass (and he did as far as I gathered cuz I didn't read the scene)
So... all in all... not for me!

Aaaaah, Bennett and Cat finally get their turn! This one was such a blast, and honestly I expected nothing less after Sinners Retreat. I was low-key wondering if we would see another pineapple moment, but what we got instead was even better. Iykyk 🍗🤣
And Cat? She is exactly who Bennett needed. The ying to his yang, the mashed potatoes to his turkey leg at Thanksgiving dinner… or however that should go. 😂 Either way, they just fit…and so do other stuff I suppose. 🤣

Slay Ride focuses on Bennett and Cat’s secret romance at The Slaycation. This one had less cannibalism and killing, which was slightly disappointing. The turkey leg scene made me sick and it just kept getting worse. I much preferred the pineapple scene in Sinners Retreat.
