The book was meh for me.

What really stood out—and honestly carried the whole story—was the FMC, Ginevra. She’d been through so much: sexual assault, crippling guilt, emotional trauma… and yet she held herself together and never let anyone see her broken. I was already intrigued by her when I read the earlier book in the series, and her strength here was even more evident. She deserved a partner who could match that depth.

And then we have Blake. Sigh. A beta male in an alpha suit. Weak. Selfish. And completely undeserving of Ginevra. When I got a glimpse of him in Forced Union (book 2), I was hopeful—he seemed mysterious and promising. Especially since Dmitri from that book was so well-written: strong, emotionally mature, and someone who actively worked to be a better man for his wife. I expected the same level of depth and growth from Blake, but all I got was disappointment.

He started off emotionally distant. Fine, slow burn, okay. Then came the sexual tension—and a moment where Ginevra was clearly uncomfortable. Blake asked who had hurt her, she gave him a vague but honest answer, and then... nothing. That conversation ended where it should’ve just begun. No emotional unpacking. No deeper connection.

Then came her birthday scene. She wakes up tied to the bed—Blake’s idea of a surprise. But hello, you know she has trauma. That kind of thing should never happen without trust and discussion. I was furious.

But it gets worse.

Blake invites Oliver, his business partner—who also happens to be Ginevra’s ex and her abuser. Blake leaves her alone with him. Oliver threatens her. And when Blake returns, instead of noticing her distress, his first reaction is to assume she's cheating on him with her abuser.

Later, when Oliver leaks a sex tape of Ginevra, Blake still doesn’t see the truth. He accuses her instead of standing by her. That moment where Ginevra finally breaks and shares her trauma—everything she’s endured, from her uncle’s abuse, to being blamed for her own assault, to Oliver’s cruelty—Blake just listens. That’s it. No action. No protection. No justice.

He does nothing. Because Oliver is “essential” to his brother’s inheritance. Let that sink in.

So Ginevra, strong as ever, walks away. She knows she’ll never be Blake’s first choice. And ironically, it’s not Blake—but Oliver, her abuser—who ends up avenging her by killing her father for what he did to her.

Blake? The supposedly powerful man? He couldn't even lift a finger.

---

Final Thoughts:
Ginevra deserved better. Blake was all bark, no bite. And in a book where the heroine is fighting to survive, the hero shouldn’t be the one letting her down.

Rating: 2/5 ⭐ — one star for Ginevra, one star for potential that got wasted.

I loved this book! It brought back that familiar feeling I often experience while reading. I wasn’t expecting it to end so soon, which made me a bit sad; however, I’m really glad I was able to read it quickly. I finished the book in one sitting because it was so well written.

Ginevra is an amazing character. Even though she didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life yet, I’m happy she found a passion like her sisters did. I felt her pain as I read through everything she went through, but I’m thrilled she eventually got her happy ending.

Blake is a character I couldn’t quite picture in the first two books. I imagined him as dark-haired with dark eyes, so I was surprised to find out he is blond with blue eyes. It caught me off guard, but it turned out fine because we got to see them as a golden couple. I love their chemistry! The way Blake treats Gin like a queen made my heart flutter while reading those parts.

This book is a great read; it’s engaging, and if you’ve read the first two books, you will definitely enjoy it as well. One of my favourite aspects of this series is that the epilogue is always the most exciting part, so the ending of this book was thrilling.

I’ve always wanted to read Ravenna and Cain’s story, so I'm excited to finally have confirmation that their book is coming. However, the author has added more potential couples that I'm eager to read about—Elena & Maximo, Eion & Lexa. While I can’t wait to dive into their stories, I’m especially looking forward to Ravenna and Cain’s tale because “Marriage in Crisis” is one of my favourite tropes.

Being part of the ARC team for this book made me incredibly happy, and I hope to continue being involved in this amazing book series!

Okay, I’ve been waiting to get to this couple just to not like them???? Like really??

At first I’ve been excited because I really love Blake on the first book and I wasn’t excited about the second one, but it was a surprise, so I just think this could be a fkn masterpiece after what Kisa and Dima were, but I was disappointed.

I’m not hating it, I just not connect with the characters and their relationship, and this was the most normal of the three of them.

I did enjoy it, I just don’t like it.

Point to them because there was not a second fkn weeding or a fkn divorce, god bless them.

I read these out of order. I loved the second book the most. It was one of the best FMCs I’ve ever read. I did not enjoy this one. I don’t want to read about rape and rape trauma. The MMC didn’t impress me. At all.

4.5 ⭐️ I loved everything about this book. I loved Ginevra, and she deserves the best. I knew I would love Blake from the moment I read about him in the first book. He is HOT 🔥 I loved how Blake was sweet to Gin when he was all twisted and dark. Omg, their chemistry 🥵🤌

This was the best book in this series. The author's writing style sometimes feels like a teenager is writing it, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the book. I absolutely love Blake and Gin 😍 Gin's story made me teary eyed several times. The way Blake was with her was just 🥺🥺 there were a few things that really got on my nerves though and that's why I took away a star.
1. Blake was really stupid sometimes. In the other books he seemed like such a smart guy but omg, there were times when he'd had a "revelation" and I'm like DUH. That just didn't fit with the person he was portrayed as.

**Spoilers**

2. It's kinda lame to have the same thing happen in all three books. Each one the couples end up breaking up and divorcing or at least asking for a divorce. I thought Gin and Blake would be different but nope. I just wish authors would switch it up when it's a series.

3. Why don't we ever find out what actually happened to Gin's friend that Blake made disappear along with her whole family. I refuse to believe he killed an innocent 14 year old girl. It's weird that it was never brought up.

4. Blake gives sooo many touch her and ☠️ vibes but let so many men live that abused her. I hated that.

EDIT: Just reread this book and found it has been revised to correct the errors I mentioned in my original review. I'm really happy to see the author is responsive to feedback and not afraid to make corrections when needed : )

Still love and highly recommend the series.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I've really enjoyed this series thus far and will definitely read the rest once they're released.

That being said, this one needed another once over. There were several typos, but the most egregious issue was a major continuity error:

I must say that I expected more, Baron and Ginevra are characters that caught my attention since book 1 and that I was really excited to get to know in depth. but for some reason in this book they felt like totally different people. Many things that happened did not seem to be consistent with the characteristics of the main characters. I don’t know, I expected more darkness and more madness hahaha. Something I must say made me a little angry was that he spent the entire book looking for his mother's things and then "the power of love" told him to realize that it was not necessary to look for them anymore. The relationship between the stepmother and the ex-boyfriend was very far-fetched, it even felt false. I mean, how powerful are you if those two people surpass you, I don't know... in the end congruence failed. and even tho I did have a good time, all I was feeling at the end was… meh!

ARC Review

When I heard about a steamy age gap, fake marriage, dark billionaire standalone romance book, I was intrigued straight away! This is book number 3 of Cassia Quinn's Twisted Arrangements series of interconnected standalones, and let me tell you I will 100% be going to find those other books! Not only was this book steamy in all the best ways, Cassia constructed a great story line for Ginevra Pontrelli, troubled mafia princess, and Blake Baron, ruthless grumpy billionaire.

If you like the "She's mine. She belongs to me, and I don't like other people touching my things." then you will love reading this book! The twists and turns Cassia Quinn takes us on as we find out more about our love birds past and their true self made it hard to put this book down! I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes some spice in their life!

Forever Fake is the third book in the Twisted Arrangement series. It is about Ginevra and Blake.
I started crushing on Blake the minute I met him on Stolen Vows, the first book in the series. In this book they meet at a party at Blake’s house. Ginevra, always the reckless woman, decides to steal a very priceless heirloom, but gets caught by Blake himself. He needs a wife and decides the best way to get one is to blackmail her. So he gives her a choice, be his wife or he’ll throw her in prison. Whatever she decides leads the rest of the story. However Ginevra is not a woman to be messed with and she will make sure Blake knows that.

I did not expect Blake to be as sweet as he was in this book. I knew there was something about him that I was gonna like and I found him hot the moment I met him in the first book. Oh my God, he exceeded my expectations. Blake himself, though ruthless as he may seem by reputation also feels like a gentle soul when it comes to people he cares about. I didn’t know much about Ginevra except that she was a party girl. We get to know her a little bit more in this book. She is covering a lot of trauma and hiding a lot of secrets by playing this persona of a wild person. Their chemistry is off the charts. It’s an inferno whenever they’re near each other. Fake kisses and touches start feeling real when they start learning about one another. From the minute, they meet you want them to be together. There’s just something about them that pulls like magnets, even hating each other, they want each other.

Cassia Quinn took me on an emotional rollercoaster. One chapter is so hilarious you wont want to be drinking anything then another is so heartfelt, you feel it deep it in your bones. You’re all in your feelings over these characters throughout their story. I cried, laugh, and whisper yelled but was thoroughly entertained! Although it can be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend reading Stolen Vows and Forced Union before this book so you can meet the incredible people in this story.
Make sure you carve out time to read this book because it will not disappoint. I couldn’t put it down. I chose to read it late at night and went to sleep around 5:30 am. I just needed to know what happened.
The mini cliffhanger at the epilogue had my jaw drop. I’m so excited and can’t wait for the next book!!

This book is full of goodies!!! Not just from the drama but it all over the place. You have family drama, boyfriend/ girlfriend, ex boyfriend drama. I mean if you want it , this book has it. One thing after another and it just keeps coming. And that isn't a bad thing. It just all rolls together so good.

This is why I love Mafia books! I feed on them and need them in my life.

You have Blake & Ginevra. Ginevra doesn't have the best rep and she thinks that she is going to take something from Blake's house ( stealing) at a party she goes too. But unfortunately she get caught. Now she has two options. She can go to jail or marry blake for one year. Which one do you think she chooses?

You guessed it married to Blake for 1 year. This is only 35% of the book. You still have a wicked mother in law, ex boyfriend, step sister and a few other things that go along with this one.

One thing that I love that this author did was make both characters feel the same way but both don't know it. You have Blake expressing his feelings but ginevra thinks it is something completely different. Then the same with Blake. The back and forth build up is amazing with these two! And if she does this with one book I really need to read the others in this series.

This is the 3rd book I have read for this author and I will pick up anything she pushes out. She got an arrange of different stuff. From monster romance to mafia to dark romance! You got to love that in an author!!!

I didn't know what to expect from Blake Baron but a drunk, fumbling, broken hearted man pining after his wife was definitely not it. That being said, I was absolutely here for it!!

Gin and Blake started off rocky because their chemistry didn't quite do it for me - at least until Gin finally started opening up and we got to see the broken, scared woman behind the crazy, always causing trouble one. My heart went out to her for what she suffered at the hands of her "father". I do wish that once the truth came out that we got to see her family dealing with failing her when she was just a teen.

Also, how Blake is who he is but still being controlled by a gold digging step-mother made no sense. He has friends in high places and has a shit ton of power himself, to a certain extent, so why couldn't he resolve his problem?

That being said, all of their moments were so good! I absolutely loved the cave scene because even though you saw it coming a mile away, it was done so well. Kudos to Gin for being her kick-ass-self and standing up to Oliver, consequences be damned. I hate that Blake thought the worst of her, but I am happy that he accepted the truth at face value and didn't doubt her when she told him what happened to her.

I cannot wait to read Raveena and Cian's story. And I so desperately home the Bane brothers get a series, if for nothing else but for Lexa and her Bane brother.

ARC REVIEW
Rating: 4.5⭐️

I loved everything about this book. It had some of my favorite tropes in it:
-Cold hero who melts just for her.
-Misunderstood heroine who's been through hell but still manages to be nice.
-Billionaire romance with a little bit of a mafia element.
Gin and Blake could not have been any more perfect for each other. Gin went through so much and she did everything she could to mask that pain. Her dad was was a pos for what he put her through. But even with how misunderstood she was, she was still one fiesty sunshine Blake couldn't get enough of. Blake is my favorite kind of hero. He was cold, grumpy and he liked things to be done a certain way. He may have said some not so nice things about at the beginning and I didn't like it but he made up for it. He's definitely my favorite hero out of the entire series. They were the ultimate grumpy sunshine🖤🌞
The third act in this case was necessary because I needed Blake to give top tier groveling and it all the drama rounded out pretty well. No spoilers though.

If you haven't read the 2 books before about Gin's sisters, I'd definitely recommend it. They're just as good and will get you caught up on this book because Blake and Gin get their little moments in the books leading up to this one. All in all, 100% recommend⭐️⭐️⭐️

A brilliant read by Cassia Quinn. What is there not to love when opposites attract? Ginerva is hated by her father and when she skips out to attend a party...one she is not really invited to....steals from the owner of the mansion and gets caught, what could possibly happen to her.
Blake decides that she can be of use to him and blackmails her to be his fake wife. All he needs is a woman by his side for a year to receive his inheritance from his evil step mother.
So begins the plan. But as all plans go they never go to plan!!
No feels!! that is what he expressed, but when she decides to play her own little games he soon realizes that he does not like others looking or touching what he claims as his.
Does he fall first? Or is the game Ginerva playing trying to make him jealous because she has caught feelings for the Dark Blake Baron?
The story is full of intrigue, with plenty of plot twists to keep you invested.
Everyone has secrets and when Ginerva comes face to face with hers, she fears that what she is building with Blake will all come crashing down.
The fight to get their HEA is one hell of a ride and well worth your time to have a read!!
Loved it and definitely worthy of 5 stars!

Wow, just wow. This series is truly amazing, Forever Fake is truly a wonderful dark romance. There isn’t one boring part of this book, this story will keep you wanting to read more until you finish.

This is book three in the Twisted Arrangement Series and the main characters are Ginevra & Blake. These characters go through so much, but they are really well written and they will suck you into their story and everything they have gone through before and after they come together.

Ginevra has always fought to tell her story and all the bad things that have happened. She always put on a brave face and piled herself with alcohol and one night stands to try to overcome her demons.

Then you have Blake, a hard a33 business man who has to marry to claim his inheritance, his stepmom just likes sticking it to him. She is a monster and all the stuff you find out about her will make you see red. Blake finds Ginevra stealing from him and makes her a deal you fake marry me to get my inheritance and I’ll forgive the stealing…. Find out if she takes the deal or not….

This book has it all drama, spice, revenge, talks of d3ath, and other triggers you should look up before reading… but you won’t be disappointed if you reads

“Of all the men in the world, how is it that I feel safest in the arms of this ruthless villain? More than safe. Prized, admired and cherished.
He soothes my damaged heart, fills it with possibility and hope. “ ~ Ginevra

I enjoyed this book so much I read it in one day! I am a huge Cassia Quinn fan. She writes her morally gray mafia men so well.

Blake starts off his relationship with Gin by blackmailing her into marriage. So right off the bat, we know this will be good. He has his reasons and she’s so afraid of the consequences she agrees. Gin finds out quickly that living with Blake, even if he’s not around much, is far better than living under her father’s roof. Blake has had nothing but horrible experiences with woman seeing them as only gold diggers. we can thank his evil step mom for this. But he slowly starts to see another side to Gin than what he expected. He lets down his walls and becomes caring and compassionate, trying to help Gin with some past trauma.

If you love a morally gray, emotional turned off man who is grumpy for everyone EXCEPT his wife…then this book is for you! Because Blake does not mess around, he will kill anyone who harms his wife!

Might just be my favorite book so far. I just love the whole ‘we won’t fall in love…I’m unloveable’ trope.
So you mix that with all the drama Blake and Gin had going on their (what they thought were) separate lives, it makes for a great story to dive into.
Gin was the wild, party girl sister. Blake was the silent but deadly killer who wasn’t supposed to want Gin, 15 years his junior, but he did. So when the problem of needing a quick wife for one year is thrown into his lap, and with one tiny mistake by Gin; let the blackmailing ensue.
But you know how this works out, somewhere along the line, fake became real and feelings got involved. But like always, stupid lack of communication and stupid people get in their way to finally becoming happy; both separate and together. And while people try to tear them apart, their love is stronger.
While this was an amazing FMC and MMC, my one thing that annoyed me through it all was Gin’s friend who died at the hands of the Black Bar; you would think if you were marrying the person responsible for killing your best friend, you would have something to say about it. But it was never again brought up…how?!

Suppression of desires, forbidden love, pretend marriage - all this and much more can be found in the latest installment of the Twisted Arrangements series, Forever Fake. This book is a real treat for lovers of dark yet thrilling romances.
The author has masterfully guided the story of Blake, a cold-hearted billionaire, and Ginevra, a mob princess who finds herself in trouble. The relationship, which begins with blackmail, gains incredible depth and chemistry over time. A pretend marriage that is supposed to solve both of their problems becomes a battleground for their hearts.
I love how seemingly typical themes, such as age difference and fake marriage, are presented here in a new and electrifying way. “Forever Fake” is a no-holds-barred ride, full of passionate scenes, unexpected twists and emotional rollercoasters. If you are looking for a book that will thrill you to the core and leave you with a feeling of satiety, but also unsatisfaction, then “Forever Fake” will be the perfect choice!

Forever Fake is a sizzling, emotional ride from start to finish. Blake Baron, a powerful man with a troubled past, blackmails Ginevra into a fake marriage to solve his inheritance issues. What starts as a forced arrangement quickly turns into a passionate connection as they uncover each other’s secrets and grow closer.

Blake is sweet and protective in a way I didn’t expect, while Gin is a complex character hiding pain behind a reckless persona. Their chemistry is electric, and their slow-burn romance had me hooked. I loved the emotional depth of their journey, especially as Blake helps Gin heal from her past trauma.

The book balances humor and heartbreak perfectly, and the cliffhanger at the end left me eagerly anticipating the next book. Forever Fake can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the first two books in the series for full context.

If you enjoy intense chemistry, emotional depth, and suspense, this book is a must-read.

💯 Would Recommend!

My Review:
This is hands down my favorite book in the series! Gin is EVERYTHING. Her journey—dealing with her past trauma, battling her insecurities, and fighting to rise above it all—was written so beautifully and hit me right in the feels. 🥺

While Blake, our broody and grumpy MMC, definitely brings his A-game, this story is all about Gin, and honestly, I loved that. She absolutely owned every moment, and it was so satisfying to see her come into her own.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but this book has it all: trauma, revenge, jaw-dropping twists, and plenty of spice to keep things very interesting. 🌶️ If you're into dark romance, it checks every box.

P.S. I see so many amazing side characters who deserve their own spin-offs. Please, Cassia, make it happen! 🙏📖

This was a fab addition to the series and I loved seeing how the romance between Ginevra and Blake would unfold. He blackmails her into marrying him (for reasons ) and she, afraid of the consequences of saying no, agrees. Very quickly, she sees that life with him, even though he isn’t around a ton, is a huge improvement over living in he father’s home. He sees another side to Gin, a non-gold digger side, that surprises him. Soon enough, his walls come down and we have a fab and steamy romance blooming between them. I love, however, that he definitely gave off all the vibes of ‘hurt my wife and expect to meet your end’ ;P The author really took me on an emotional reading ride and left me so pleased I inhaled this book. However, she gave a mini-cliffy in the epilogue and now I’m anxiously waiting for the next book ;D

Forever Fake is book three of the Twisted Arrangements Series.

Ginevra really get the bad end of the stick when it comes to her family. Her dad really needed to get over himself and be better. She seems to always be blamed for something going wrong, however, in this instance she does do something bad and gets caught. This causes Blake to make a deal with her so he can accomplish his goals.

Blake and Ginevra had amazing chemistry together. I loved the use of the magpie nursery rhyme throughout the book. This gave me a good connection between Blake and Ginevra. There is a lot of secrets in this book and pain from the pasts, but we get to see Blake and Ginevra overcome any obstacle to get their HEA.

Omg I just loved this book and this series has been the best. Blake and Ginevra are such an alive and real couple.

Blake a Mafia man needs a wife to get his inheritance from his wicked step mother, and when he comes across Ginevra stealing from him, he gets a great idea.

Blake was a typical Mafia hitman, untrusting violent and possessive. As against Gin who had seen the worst of life and was trying to deal with it the best she could. But oh they had beautiful chemistry and a connection that was so well crafted in the writing.

Full of danger, drama, a fair bit of suspense and all wrapped in an amazing romance. This plot captivated me! It held on and didn't let go and I didn't want it to finish. Such an amazing book! I can't rave enough about it!

Brilliant read really!!!

SOME THINGS CANNOT BE FAKED

Cassia Quinn's third installment of the Twisted Arrangements series is anything but fake. The feelings and emotions that are evoked in the storytelling are deep and at times heart wrenching. The characters are flawed, emotionally and mentally scarred and detached but grow with the realisation that true feelings, feelings of love and loyalty cannot be faked but are definitely forever. I loved how this story evolved from the simple fake engagement to knowing what sacrifice and family mean. There are twists and turns, hoops to jump through and shocks to endure, but this Twisted Arrangement is definitely worth reading and as always, the ending leads you to anticipate the next book in the series.

This is my first Cassia Quinn book and I absolutely loved it!! It drew me in from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. Blake and Gin had chemistry from the moment they met. I love the magpie references throughout their love story. Even though it was a fake marriage, things between the couple turned serious and deep rather quickly and it was wonderful. Gin has had a rough life and it's great to see Blake helping her heal herself. The revenge they both get on their villains in the end is very satisfying. I can't wait to read the previous books and eventually the two books still to come!!

"He soothes my damaged heart, fills it with possibility and hope."

I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.

Forever Fake is Blake and Ginevra's story and has some dark topics that may be sensitive to some readers so make sure you check trigger warnings before you start reading. It's book 3 in the Twisted Arrangements series and for me, the story is fantastic! It's intense, gritty, dark at times and utterly consuming. My heart hurt for Gin and the things she went through and I'm elated that she got a great guy who treats her as she should be treated. This story, like the previous 2 books can be an emotional rollercoaster at times and definitely keeps readers engaged from start to finish. I can't wait for book 4.
