They say you don’t know what it means to be done until it hits you.
I used to think that was nonsense because I finished everything I'd ever started.

Until the night a 911 call brought me to Jesse’s doorstep.

That was the moment I understood. Because the second I saw her, I knew I was done for.

Jesse was the new girl in Harmony Haven. A fiercely protective single mom who made it clear her heart already belonged to someone her son, Max.

And I thought that was fine. I wasn’t looking for forever… until suddenly, I was.

Despite her walls, I couldn’t stop falling. Every smile, every dance, every moment with Max—it all pulled me in deeper. I wanted to be the man she could count on, the one who’d never walk away.

And for a while, it felt like I was getting through. Until she shut the door on us with two words I’ll never
We’re done.

But here’s the thing. I finished everything I'd ever started and I wasn't giving up.
Not on her. Not on Max.
Not on the future I knew we were meant to have.

Moving to Harmony Haven was supposed to be their second chance.
But I’m here to prove it’s just the beginning.

Discover the charm of small-town romance with Done, the heartwarming debut in Katie Rae’s Harmony Haven series.

Katie Rae introduces readers to characters you’ll root for, a setting you’ll wish you could visit, and a playlist that brings every scene to life. Harmony Haven is a place where Life is a Love Song, and this story is sure to be your next swoony favorite.

This was a light read and that was fine for me. It's basically about a single mom who moves to town with her 5 year old and meets the MMC who is a fireman and a good guy. Normally I avoid the single-parent trope like the plague but I didn't mind this so much because heroine is not obsessed or in love with OM. He is hardly in the picture at all. See below.

The MMC meets heroine when her 4/5 yr old calls the fire department because he is obsessed with fire trucks and they have a funny meet cute when she steps out of the shower semi naked to see Hero in her room.

Hero falls hard for her but she has her walls up because of her bad experience with her ex. What was so frustrating is that while Hero was all-in from the start and the way he pursued her was so cute, she on the other hand didn't get on board until the end. She kept denying & semi pushing him away and never once asked herself how it would affect her son who had bonded with Hero so much if he left his little life because she was "scared'. The guy kept treating her like a queen and was 100% into her - and only her, and loved her kid. He was so cute with the little guy!

Anyway, it was still a cute read for those that want something sweet with not much drama. Not to say there is no drama at all because there is some in the form of OM (her ex) coming to cause trouble but she never interacts with him and he only appears briefly in a short scene. There's an OW who works with Hero and is after him. She tries to cause some trouble several times but Hero is not into her at all. He was a bit slow to put a stop to her shenanigans but he admitted that was because he never gave any thought to OW as his head was always full of heroine and didn't think about anything or anyone else. Now THAT is a devoted MMC ladies!

There's also a few background characters like Hero's two brothers which I wouldn't mind reading about as long as it is safe. Neither came across as Manhos so I'm pretty sure I will add them when their stories come out.

Safety:

-No cheating
-No OW/OM other than what I explained above.
-No past scenes with OP. Heroine was with OM until he showed her who & what he was when he rejected her & their son. She is not broken hearted or obsessed about him. OM tries to cause some trouble in the past & present.
-Hero was not a Manho. Brief mention that he had no trouble picking up women in the past but no mention when the last time was for him. He said heroine was the only one he was ever serious with.
-Disappointing HFN where they agree to be together and exchange ILY's but no mention of marriage or anything else. Author said more info on the MCs will be given in future books of how they are progressing. ☹️

I enjoyed Jesse and Easton's story and little Max was adorable. Katie did a great job introducing us to her first small town romance and I am looking forward to revisiting Harmony Haven.

The story felt a bit rushed but I loved the romantic side of Easton and how he courted Jesse and loved her son. His grandparents and Jesse's nosy neighbor were great side characters. If you love hot firemen, a dash of romantic suspense then you don't want to miss this story.

Take me back to Harmony Haven IMMEDIATELY!!!

What a fun little world Katie Rae has built for us to fall in love with! I enjoyed this one from beginning to end. He’s a firefighter and she’s the new to town single mom. Their meet cute is just the right amount of funny, awkward & cute.

Katie also always adds just the right amount of suspense to keep you on your toes. I am so excited for what’s to come with this series! BRING IT ON! ❤️

OK, 2 stars.
The h was really irritating, till the end she kept the H hanging.
The story picked up in last 20% and was decent.
Otherwise it was ok
I seem to be in a book slump.

Definitely not it for me.

In the first half or so, I looked past the cheesiness and some weird wording (why the repetitive “I’m done being spineless”?). Gramps was a hoot, and I enjoyed the brotherly bonds. But then it devolved in the middle and I was angry by the end. There was a bit of an action scene at the end that picked things up and made them interesting, but unfortunately it ended quickly (and frankly disappointingly- we didn’t really see the resolution. All that for what?? ) and the book ended with a barely there HFN. Ho hum.

Biggest gripes:
- he’s insta-obsessed, which was great- loved how he was with Max, although waxes on weirdly and randomly about how she makes him weak and spineless. But then continues to pursue her in the persistent but slow pace she needed. 🤷🏼‍♀️ His diatribes felt weird and frankly didn’t make sense. Sort of like Gramp’s “riddle” about being DONE. 🤷🏼‍♀️

- she’s annoyingly the opposite. In fact, she pushes him away until basically the last pages. And not in a good way. It wasn’t even really about having been hurt before. “I’m a neglectful parent if I spend one second focused on anything other than staring at my 3 yo for 24 hours a day” kind of way. And naturally, the very first time in his life she leaves him to go to a work meeting, he gets BLOWN OVER BY THE WIND at preschool and has to get taken to the ER by ambulance. wtf? The wind? 🙄 The author heaped on the mom guilt and the “can’t be a good mom if you ever think of anything but your kid”. 😡 Also- Jesse said some shitty things in the process of pushing Easton away. Totally uncalled for. She basically made me hate her by the end.

- Rory. What the actual fuck. Her entire storyline angered me. Ok- the author wanted OW drama, but there is Zero reason that she should have been allowed to behave like that. And if it wasn’t bad enough that Easton literally ignored it all, the fire Captain did too. He didn’t want drama- so she was allowed to sexually harass East, climb in his bed half naked, steal items from his car, and on and on. And no one said anything? What kind of fire precinct are they running? Fucking. Ridiculous.

So while I liked the brothers, the grandparents, and this small town vibe, this book did not hit and left me feeling unsatisfied without even a solid HEA, so I just don’t see myself investing more into continuing on.

4.5🌟

- Single mom
- Firefighter
- Kind of owd and omd (se below)
- H falls first and harder
- H 32, h (30?)

This was a good book about a single mother who moves after losing her mother and her ex being garbage. When her son (3 years old) calls the fire department because he loves fire trucks, the H runs in when she’s getting out of the shower, and he falls right then and there (bc of the way she protects her son, not bc she’s nearly naked).
H is all in from start and keeps fighting for the h attention and trust.

Safety:
- owd: a coworker of the H is interests, he’s never been and tried to play nice and respectful, but with h showing up, she starts to get out of line, H does not like this at all. Some drama since H doesn’t mention this to h, but only bc for him it is just annoying and harassment and he’s so consumed by his feelings for the h that he forgets everything the ow tries to do to get between them as soon as he’s with the h. But ow gets her punishment.
- no info about when H last time was
- Omd: some with the h ex boyfriend and the father of her son, but he’s basically not in the book, but causes some drama with the ow who’s interested in the H.
- H has had a lot of women before, not manwhore but kind of a player and only did ons.
- h haven’t been with anyone since her ex and she got pregnant

What I didn’t like
- One to much notice of his old ways where he could easily hookup and that he had been with a lot of different girls, only doing one night stands. Didn’t get the manwh*re vibe, but he definitely was heavily experienced
- Her constant push and hesitation towards their relationship. He was so in it and was so sweet towards her and her son, and she has a foot out the door for way to long.
- Ofc the owd, but in this case it didn’t bother me because the ow and H had never been together (he took her to prom bc he felt sorry for her 15 y ago, but made it clear to her it was just as friends, and nothing happened).

This story is so cute! 🥰 I absolutely LOVED Done from the first page to the very last page and read the whole book in just a few hours. I have to say that I think that Done is my favorite Katie Rae book so far! 🙂

I loved Easton! He is so sweet and the way he interacts with Jesse's son, Max, is adorable! The part when Easton fell asleep at the clinic with Max was really sweet. Another thing I love about Easton was how he took an interest in Jesse's candle business. I love reading books where the MMC supports and is genuinely interested in what the FMC loves.

I have so many favorite scenes from this book! My copy has tons of bookmarks and highlights all the way from start to finish, but one of my absolute favorite parts of "Done" was the Walmart scene and another favorite part for me was when they went to the fall festival.

My favorite quotes from "Done" were these two;
“I really do go blank, Jess. My mind just forgets everything when we’re together.” {chapter 36, page 226}

“This isn’t the end of our story. Could you imagine the number of books that would be thrown across the room if you and I had a third-act break up?” {chapter 37, page 232}

Done is the perfect beginning to Katie's new Harmony Haven series and definitely deserves more than five stars. I can't wait to read all of the books in the series along with the rest of Easton and Jesse's story! 🩷

This book brings me back to my favorite Katie Rae stories. Yes it’s a bit different from the norm but it’s the way it made me feel that brought me back. The chemistry between the characters… the side characters that make you want a book about them… the banter and just general attraction between the characters.

Jesse is a single mom who has a high wall around her heart. She moves to Harmony Haven for a new start. The only man she needs is her son, Max.

Easton is a firefighter who has faced his own tragedy but having a loving family has helped him become the man he is. The loss of his parents made him determined to never let anyone close enough to lose.

All it takes is one false alarm call to set these two on a path that they never believed they would be on.

Easton is on my list of favorite Katie book boyfriends. He’s done before he even knows what is happening. His patience and persistence is so damn endearing.

Jesse drove me mad but I understood her reasoning for her hesitation. It took her a bit but she finally let him put her heart back together.

Now I can’t wait to read the other Brooks brothers’ stories!

Now I don’t want to be too dramatic…but this book brought me back to romance novels. For some reason, this year hasn’t provided me that giddy feeling that I long for when reading a romance novel. I’ve tried so many different subgenres of them. Everything felt so forced, so rehearsed. Done takes the familiar tropes but improved upon them, with the flow of it making it more believable that this love story is organic.

The life that was brought into these characters helped make what they were working through realistic. I LOVED the authentic and relatable feelings of not being enough as a mom that Katie Rae gave to Jesse. Easton was the hopes of what every single mom wants to find in a partner - someone to love not only you, but your child. Someone who feels inspired by the warrior that you are. He is absolutely swoon worthy, I mean he is a firefighter after all! He didn’t need much more than that, and yet he was given this amazing personality and backstory. The community and family of Harmony Haven made me fall in love with small town living. Overall I give this book a 10/10.

Well done Katie Rae, thank you for bringing me back!!!

“I’d wait forever for you to realize you love me.”

I cannot contain my level of obsession with Done by Katie Rae! I don’t think I have ever been that instantly invested so deeply in a book. Easton Brooks and his siblings have dedicated their careers to protecting the cozy community of Harmony Haven. Jesse Olsen moved to Harmony Haven to build a safe & stable life for her adorable three year old, Max. His cute obsession with fire trucks brought about one of the sweetest awkward meet-cutes ever! Done is a heart-melting insta-infatuation, he-falls-first, single mom love story. Jesse and Easton are utterly charming, mesmerizing, and scorching hot. Their chemistry is off the charts. I love Katie Rae’s books, and Done is her best yet! At one point, my face didn’t know what to do because I was trying to laugh, smile and had tears rolling down my face at once. My brain couldn’t even with the flood of awesomeness. I’m thrilled that this banger of a series starter is just the beginning of our time with the Brooks siblings, I cannot wait for more! If you’re craving a swoony firefighter MMC and a strong-willed, sweet FMC you’d love to be friends with, read Done now!

Wow! Words can’t express how I feel about this book. Not only was this book a page turner, but Jesse and Easton were one of my favorite couples of Katie Rae’s books.

Jesse is a single mom who moves to Harmony Haven to give her son a better life. Easton is a firefighter who has a sad past. Wait til you find out what happened. They meet when the fire department gets an unexpected call. It definitely brings back memories for Easton. As time goes on and Jesse and Easton get to know each other, it seems a bond is forming with Jesse’s son also. Can they both share their pasts with each other? This book also brings a couple of people from their pasts, ones who I wish never existed. They seem to want to wreak havoc on what is possibly developing between Jesses and Easton. When something unexpected happens, it seems things start to unravel and may bring Jesse and Easton closer together. Wait til you find out what happens in the end.

I loved this book! It was hilarious, sweet, swoony, steamy — and such a great start to the new Harmony Haven series. From the very first chapter, I was pulled into Jesse's world: a single mom trying to create a safe, stable life for her young son, Max, in the charming town of Harmony Haven. When Max calls 911 because he wants to see “fire trucks,” it brings Easton — a broody firefighter — right to their door. From the moment he sees Jesse, Easton is done for, but this is a slow burn, and it delivers all the feelings. Both Jesse and Easton have their own baggage and struggles to work through, but Easton's persistence and patience as he slowly earns Jesse’s trust (and heart) made their story so satisfying to watch unfold. I absolutely loved the small-town setting — Harmony Haven felt like a place I’d genuinely want to move to. I can’t wait to return to this world and see what the rest of the series has in store! 💛

Jesse and Easton were so amazing. Both with pasts that keep their hearts guarded and closed off. No serious relationships, strictly a fun night and nothing more, feelings just complicate things, but when Easton gets the call of a fire and ends up in Jesse’s house only to come face to face with her, all bets are off, he’s throwing caution to the wind and wants to see if there could be something between them. I loved her son Max, how sweet and shy he was with everyone but took to Easton like he knew him his whole life. With every love story there’s always someone putting in their two cents and I loved Easton’s grandparents and brothers always with something to add. When their pasts come back to wreak havoc and try to push them apart, will these two realize they are stronger together and can face anything as long as they have each other? Such a great read.

Done was my first book by Katie Rae and I have to say it won’t be my last! It was a great light read that left me smiling & even chuckling at some points. I love a good he falls First & harder trope. So many times the men don’t earn respect from the women in the books but Easton absolutely did. His patience with Jesse was a beautiful example of how to really show someone you care. I’d put the spice at 2 peppers - it wasn’t over done & didn’t feel forced.
Jesse is a single mom to a 3 year old (Max), a candlemaker, & entrepreneur while Easton is a firefighter at the local station. The side characters were fantastic too. Grams & Gramps, Easton’s brothers, Ms. Ellison (the nosy neighbor), and of course the exes.
Loved seeing Jesse & Easton’s love story play out and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Would deffo recommend.

This book had me hooked from the very start and I was very invested in story and the characters. It had my heart in my mouth at time and I was extremely engrossed into finding out what happened next.

This book follows are FMC Jessie as she moves to a small town called harmony haven to start a new with her son max.

When she moves to harmony haven she has no intention of finding love her main go is her son and everything he needs in life. But then one night she meet the MMC firefights luitenant Easton when max accedently call for the fire departments and her life starts to change. Is it for the better is it a good change for her and her son you'll have to read to find out for yourself....

I have been very fortunate to read a few books from Katie Rae and I was so excited when I got my hands on this book. My instincts were on point because I was not able to put this book down and I immersed myself in the story of Easton and Jesse and their beautiful and blossoming romance. There is some drama along the way when outside forces try to keep them apart but ultimately their love wins through and they can move forward. Loved Jesse’s son Max who is the cutest boy you will read about. So wonderful.

I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

A single mom beginning a new life with her sweet little boy in a small town in Georgia, a hot small town fire fighter in said small town, eeekkkk…need I say more???
Ok, ok…I have lots to say because I loved falling in love with the town of Harmony Haven, especially Jessie and Easton
Their story was sweet but also plenty complicated. They had the spice but also painful pasts with suspense that slowly unfolded. I swooned, I fanned my face and I had all the feels. There is so much more I want to say I loved but I don’t wanna spoil the fun, this is definitely a must read.
I can’t wait for more from Harmony Haven, Katie Rae definitely didn’t disappoint with her dive into small town romance.

This was a brilliant read. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
I laughed (ok giggled and kicked my legs giddily) constantly at the antics of this family and community.
Jess really resonated with me and her struggles hit really close to home so seeing her HEA made my heart happy.
Easton may well be one of my top 5 book boyfriends now!
In addition to the fun stuff there was some really heartbreaking topics covered and I got teary more than once.
I need more of these brothers and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
If you’re after a single parent romance, with lots of laughs, copious hilarious moments and banter and a beautiful HEA, this is a fabulous choice.

There is nothing i hate more than getting out of the shower and finding a hot fireman standing in my bedroom.

I definitely hate it when the fireman sees my eyes and falls instantly in love with me. ugh so annoying😂

When Jess’s 3 year old son dials for “fire trucks” one night when she is in the shower, she was not ready to lay eyes on Easton. She was trying to run away and lay low in this new small town, and now (just like him) she is Done for;)

This book was such a fun time and the start of a series I cannot wait to read more of!!

💜Single mom
💜Firefighter mmc (that falls first and hard!)
💜Scene stealing toddler
💜Meddling neighbors & grandparents

I absolutely adored this book! The way Easton fell head over feet for Jesse was so sweet, and I loved that he understood how much Max would impact any kind of relationship with her and took that time to earn both their trust. Not to mention, it gets HOTT down in Georgia... the mouth on Easton is just sinful! This story is a perfect blend of sweet and spice.

Why do I love romance books? Because they give me all the feels. And Done is no different. Easton was such a goner for Jesse and handled her [stubbornness] fight with such patient endurance. As a reader you're like just open that heart girl and let him carry it with you! That's when you know it's a good one... because you are just as involved as these fictional characters who do NOT seem fictional to you!

This was an excellent light romance read! Small town nosey neighbors, the resident family of unfairly attractive brothers, sassy grandparents and enough drama to keep me flipping pages to see what happens.

Jesse and Easton are a great couple and Max really did steal the show. I loved the undercurrent plot of the candles and some of those names were awesome.

Not quite insta-love but I think we could call it insta-lust (at least for Easton), Easton works hard over the book to prove to Jesse that she is the only one for him, Max included.

If you're looking for something fun, sexy and low angst, this is a book for you!

3.5🌟 Easton & Jesse

I had difficulty feeling invested in this couple. I didn’t care for Jesse throughout many parts of this book. She would sleep with Easton then push him away. She overhears rumors about him & Rory from strangers and believes them instead of having a conversation with Easton. Rory was crazy and it was even crazier that people just let her get away with things and not address anything. Easton was great. Devoted and loving from day 1. Sweet easy read.

Katie Rae has done it again! I was so into this book, I didn't want to put it down. I read while I was working and eating and...well, you get the point. Easton is the epitome of book boyfriends. Max stole my heart and I wanted to be best friends with Jesse. I'm so excited to continue their story and see who snags Miles. I think Harmony Haven is about to get a whole lot more exciting.

Small town love
Oh my heart! Easton falls first, fast and hard and it was so beautiful to read. Jesse and Max are a package deal and it didn’t phase Easton in the slightest, he was all in from the get-go. With a great family feel, romance, emotion, steam, some drama and a wonderful small town atmosphere. I’m looking forward to more Harmony Haven.

Easton a firefighter and Jesse a single looking for a fresh new beginning. I have to say I love that he did not shy away from developing a relationship with her son Max. That sealed for me because as a single mom myself I was guarded about when it came to dating. This was a cute story and their banter in Walmart was comical. I enjoyed the story.

A single mom starting over with her little one is always a sign that someone good is coming into her life! This book was no exception. The way that Easton came into her life did make me giggle a little bit although he was super endearing during that situation. Easton continues to show Jesse that there are good men out there! Loved this book!

This single mum, small town romance is delivers Hallmark vibes but with heat. Add in some fun grandparents, a nosey neighbour, and a touch of drama from the ex, and you have ‘Done’.

It was such a sweet read that had me crying at times and a little hot under the collar at others 😉

Easton was hooked from the first meeting, and Jessie took a little while longer to get there but the clear star of the story is her son, Max. Oh my, my heart swooned for this little bit. So dang adorable.

Thank you @katie_rae_author for sliding into my DMs and gifting me this e-book. These characters and this story warmed my heart, and was the perfect tonic I needed.
