From the second Ray (H) sees Penny (h), he's a goner. He was so possessive, loving and protective. Penny was sweet and broken. They made a perfect couple. I do wish the creepy step-dad got more of what was coming to him!

When Penny shows up at Ray's shop and tells him her brand new car is making weird noises, needs the AC checked and tires replaced he knows something is up. Ray tells Penny he'll take a look at her car and she can wait for him. As they get to know each other a little bit it's instalove for them. Ray knows Penny is trying to hide from someone but she doesn't know yet that he will be there to protect her always. Fast and steamy read, great instalove older man younger woman story and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I received an ARC copy and this is my honest review.

In An Instant ~
A most enjoyable read with detailed descriptions about the first moment he saw her. From there, it only got better. He knew what she didn’t know how to tell him, and still chose to protect her. Loved the perfect for them epilogues.

I enjoyed reading the story ' Saved by the Mechanic' by Cassi Hart. It was about a young woman escaping from the evil intentions of her stepfather and finding protection and love with a mechanic in a neighboring town. Penny knew that time was running out for her before her stepfather followed through with his smothering pursuit of her. He had kept her at home and stopped her friends from coming over. He had stopped paying her college tuition so she couldn't continue her education and had imposed a curfew on her so that she couldn't get a job. He had pretended to accidentally walk in on her while she was taking a shower and recently, he had groped her and pretended that he didn't mean to. Penny had tried to tell her mother what was happening, but her mother had always listened to her husband's reasons for what he said was keeping her from associating with a bad crowd. Her mother refused to believe that the man who had been thought of as a good friend of the family's while her first husband was alive was anything more than just someone wanting to care for them. So, when her stepfather returned home for something one morning and left the car running in the driveway Penny had jumped in and driven away. When she was finally afraid that someone might have followed her, she pulled into a mechanic's shop and found herself walking up to Ray Hile who owned the shop. When she told Ray that something was wrong with the car, and could he please work on it he could tell she was running from something and could sense her fear. He could also tell that there was nothing wrong with the car, but he let her leave it with him and go sit in his office during the morning. He felt an overpowering need to protect this innocent angel. He also told her later that she could tell him what she was running from, and he would protect her. She knew he meant it because she felt safe with him and knew he wouldn't harm her. They both feel an overpowering attraction for each other, and he soon gets her to confess what she is running from, and he vows to protect her.

Once upon a time Penny had the perfect life, a loving father and mother, but everything changed in the blink of an eye. Jonah was her father’s business partner and a family friend who took over everything and helped them through a difficult time. However, things changed again when her mother who was lost in her grief for her father falls prey to Jonah’s charms and soon, he has complete control over their lives, no longer allowed to go to school she has become a prisoner in the house that used to be a home. The way that Jonah watches her gives her the creeps, but it isn’t until he crosses the lone that she knows that she has to run, escape before something worse happens. Taking the only chance, she can she steals Jonah’s car and seeks solace in Rosewood. Penny wasn’t expecting to find Ray when she chose the town as her hideout, a mechanic that sets her heart racing in every way and offers her his protection. But with her stepfather out for her blood can Ray really keep her safe and could she have fallen in love so fast with a stranger?
Ray has always been considered the odd one out within his family of well-respected and influential lawyers, but the law never set his heart on fire and always wanted to be a mechanic. He has a thriving business and is happy with his life, that is until Penny arrives and turns his life and heart upside down. One look and he is picturing what their children will look like, but he can tell that this girl is running from something, and he is ready to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Is Ray really going to be able to stop the danger that is coming for his woman, and can he prove to Penny that is right where she was always meant to be, by his side?
This was a fun and seriously hot read; it is fast paced, and the character’s chemistry is off the charts. I do love a great insta romance with an epilogue. 4.5*

Penny was a prisoner in her own home ever since her stepfather started making unnecessary moves on her. She tried telling her mom but she never listen. One day her stepfather left his car running and Penny took the opportunity to take it and get away. She went to the closet place she could find and that is how she met Ray.
Ray took her first to his office, then up to his apartment. Each day he would get her to open up more and more until one day Penny trusted Ray and told him everything.
Her stepfather found out where she was, had her arrested for stealing his car. Thinking he could make her come back by having her arrested but it backfired. She was stronger with Ray by her side. The start to the Men of Valor Springs series can be read under an hour get comfortable you put it down until the last page has been turned. Ray sexy as all get out mechanic working on a truck when a women comes in urgently telling him her car is falling apart of course nothing is wrong with the car but he feels deep in his bones something isn’t right so he goes along until he can understand what’s she is running from, and so he takes her to his office lets her stay with him in his apartment giving her time, trust until she is ready to tell him what she is running from. Penny is sweet she is smart living as a prisoner in her own home with a stepfather who is making it hard for her to stay there of course she tells her mom but her doesn’t listen so one day he comes home leaving the car running she sees her chance to break out of the prison so to speak and drives to first place where she meets the mechanic who helps her without knowing her truth. Her stepfather of course wasn’t going to allow her to get away with it has her arrested for theft, but will she tell the truth as to why she ran, will her mother get the message, will her stepfather get what he deserves, and has she found freedom along with happiness?

An amazing novella with outstanding characters, easy to read as well as a page turner with a steamy romance and a happily ever after ending.

It takes no time at all for the two to become close. He promises her to protect her even though she hasn't told him her story yet but she does soon after.
Not long after his brother comes and so does the cops. The cops take her in but she doesn't take the deal that was given to her. Before the two can go back to his place her mother and the guy she's married to shows up trying to get her to go with them, but she refuses, going home with the man instead.
At the end her mother and her husband show up, everything comes into the light. Her mother wants to see her to talk.
Six years later they are married with a growing family of their own. Her mother divorced her husband and the mother and daughter are dealing with the grief they both have. She goes to his work to tell him some but is side tracked, he finds out on his own what she was planning on telling him. The couple are happy with their growing family. They're happy and in love.

Awesome. My stepfather came home unexpectedly and I saw my chance. I grabbed my purse and the first pair of shoes I find then jump in his running car. The man is a sick person. The way he looks at Penny and “accidentally “ gropes her is enough to her run. Ray is under the hood of his idiot brother’s truck when a pair of red stilettos and a clearing throat draw his attention. The young woman starts naming all the things that are wrong with the car. Just seeing the outside of it he knows that when he opens the hood the will be just a clean. They play this game all day while Penny sits in his office. Eventually it comes out what she’s running from. Ray promises to protect her and keep her safe. Put when the police show up days later to arrest Penny he goes crazy. His brother is there, too. A the station Ray’s brother tells her that the charges will be dropped if she returns home with her stepfather. Penny’s answer? She’d rather go to jail!!.

Saved By The Mechanic is the first installment in the Men of Valor Springs series. I found that Saved By The Mechanic to be exceptionally written and fantastically executed by Author Cassi Hart. Author Cassi Hart continues to create absolutely fascinating romance stories that are absolutely captivating from start to finish. Saved By The Mechanic is an ease to read, has wonderful characters, romantic/steamy, suspenseful, definite page-turner, entertaining/enjoyable to read, and a happily ever after for the main characters. Saved By The Mechanic follows the journey of Penny and Ray who I thought to be quite interesting and intriguing at the same time. I absolutely enjoyed getting to know both Penny and Ray as well as reading their amazing story. Saved By The Mechanic is most definitely a book which I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone who enjoys reading contemporary romance stories. I’m most definitely going to be looking forward to seeing what else Author Cassi Hart will come up with for her next book.

Ray Hile is 34 and owns an auto mechanic shop. He employs seven mechanics. He comes from a family of lawyers, so he considers himself the black sheep of the family. His brother owns a red pickup truck that he never takes care of so Ray is always fixing it. He charges his brother big fees since he is a big shot lawyer.
When his employees go to take a breakfast break at the local bakery, Ray works on his brother’s car again. A beautiful young woman strides in saying that there is something wrong with her car. The Audi is in perfect condition. He asks for her driver’s license and finds out her name is Penny Moore and that she is only 19 years old.
I liked that Ray was so patient while waiting for Penny to tell him the truth about why she brought her car to his repair shop when it did not need any repairs. Cute couple.

She believes someone is following her, so she pulls into Ray's mechanic garage to hide in plain sight. She tells a bunch of lies to Ray of what is *wrong* with the brand new car. Ray knows nothing is wrong with her car and goes along with her staying in his a office. It's quick to the §ëx... on top of a car, in possible plain sight of all of Ray's employees. Some drama happens and ends with HEA and future Epilogue.

Penny is running. She has to find somewhere to hide. She pulls into an auto repair shop, and it's obvious the owner doesn't believe that her car needs any work, but he lets her hang out in his office while he's busy with it anyway.
Ray knows this girl is lying to him about the car, but he can see the fear in her eyes. He's not about to turn her away. He feels like he needs to protect her from whatever she's running from.
Ooh, gotta love the grumbly guy who gets all protective for his girl! When Ray finds out why Penny is so afraid, he promises to protect her. She doesn't believe him because of what she's been through, but he proves to her that he's not going anywhere.
This was a great OTT protector story, with a grumpy mechanic who goes all soft for his girl.

Penny has been trapped in ticking time bomb of a horrible situation at home. She takes the first chance she gets and runs. Thinking she's being followed she stops at a garage. The tall, muscled, inked mechanic should terrify her, but strangely, he just makes her feel safe.
Ray is having a normal day at his garage when an angel drives in with a made up problem. Obviously scared of something, he goes along with her story in order to keep her safe.
Penny is a sweet, innocent young woman with the courage to run from a situation out of her control. Whilst Ray is a strong, protective alpha of a man who now has a mission to make her his and keep her safe.
A steamy instalove romance with a little danger, some angry alpha male and a sweet HEA.

She stops at Rays's garage, and he knew something was up. Ray promises Penny that he'll protect her. She is not sure if she can trust him but something about him wants her to believe again and in love. A great story and you are going to love it as much as I did.

There’s just something extra hot about a tough, hard working, blue collar worker, hands all covered in callouses, falling head over heels with the innocent angel that stumbled into his auto shop, dressed in 6” stilettos, asking for repairs on her car. Why would she be asking for routine repairs on a new car when she was obviously just passing through? Something else had to be going on.
When the police showed up to arrest Penny for stealing the vehicle, she’s terrified of the owner and it’s up to Ray to keep her safe from the monster she was running from.
This was a sweet, hot, read with a protective, cinnamon roll hero that I couldn’t help but fall in love with and I hope other readers will check it out. 5 Stars!

It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, virgin gets her protective mechanic romance. Penny is a 19 year old virgin on the run from her predatory stepfather. Ray is a 34 year old hunky mechanic shop owner. When Penny shows up in a new car claiming it needs work, he is taken with the young beauty and knows she is running from something. As they talk and their connection deepens, he vows to keep her safe. Can he? And will she stay? Ray was so protective of Penny, and their chemistry was an inferno. We also got a very happy ending. I can't wait for Wilson's story next!.
