In The Power of the Prophetic Blessing, John Hagee wants people to comprehend and appreciate the importance of blessing your life, your wife, your children, and your grandchildren with the blessings from the written word of God and speaking the blessing aloud over their lives. John Hagee's father prayed and declared the blessings over John's life and everything he spoke came to pass. John Hagee also continued the passing of the blessings over his children and everything he spoke from the Bible was surpassed in his children lives. John Hagee has experienced the power of releasing the blessings and his new book will benefit readers into learning how to speak blessings over your life and your family lives.

The first blessings occurred when God created, sculpted, and molded together the first human from the dust of the Earth and he named him Adam. Next he put Adam into a deep sleep and he took a rib out of the side of Adam and constructed his wife, Eve. He blessed Adam and Eve told them to be fruitful and multiply consequently this created generations from then to now. This blessing is for all men and women and we are commanded and blessed when we are procreating, multiplying, and having descendants. This blessing is known as the Genesis Blessings.

Subsequently the next blessings in the scriptures are specified to Esau and Jacob. Esau is the oldest child of Isaac. The older child is supposed to get the biggest blessings of the family but Jacob tricked and pretended to be Esau. Isaac gives Jacob Esau blessings and once a blessing is spoken it can't be taken back. Esau has to receive the heartbreaking news that he will have to serve his younger brother everlastingly. God changes Jacob's name to Israel and he commanded and affirmed Israel to be fruitful and reproduce and God would provide the territory for their descendants.

This book covered the Genesis Blessing, the Abrahamic Blessing, the Priestly Blessing, and the eight Prophetic Blessings of Jesus. The blessings from God are for all Jewish believers who are God's chosen people. By the grace of God when he died on the cross he extended His love and blessings to the Gentiles. This means that God will give us His favor, protection, healing, prosperity, and blessings. It's imperative that we partner and pray for Israel to prosper and for peace to be fulfilled throughout their land.

I immensely enjoyed reading this excellent outstanding new book by John Hagee. I have seen the significance of being the spiritual authority of my household and I must lay my hands on the top of my wife, children, and grandchildren heads and speaking the blessings out loud over their lives. The book hit me with great revelations of watching what I speak about my children's future and I now realize the impact I have as a father of influencing their lives. I can encourage and build their self-esteem with the words from our Father or I can choose to let the world annihilate them with their words. I am choosing the encouragement road!

The book had proclamations to speak over your children and grandchildren, your wife, your business, health, and healing, in a time of testing and trial, emotional stability, favor of God, and divine prosperity. These proclamations have helped me to see what I can pray and verbalize over people's lives and they are scriptural. This section of the book is eye-opening and it is changing the lives of my family generation and it can change yours too. I will be keeping this book in a safe place to refer back to the material often. I currently don't have any children or a wife for that matter. But the moment when I return home from my career and my wife is taking a pregnancy test and the results declare it's positive and there's baby or babies on the way. As husband and wife, we will be joining and placing one of each of our hands on her stomach and with the other praising God and speaking and releasing the blessing over our child(s) every single night. This will continue even after they are born! This is a lifetime decision to commit to bless my family daily. I will be reading this magnificent trilling book again with my wife and then with my teenage sons and daughters. The book will change your life like it has mine if put into practice. The blessings from Heaven are waiting for you get ready to learn how to release them!

Pastor John Hagee's newest book is The Power of the Prophetic Blessing: An Astonishing Revelation for a New Generation. The cornerstone of Hagee's new book is that true peace and wealth come not from Donald Trump or the lottery, but from God, and God can bless man, as well as man can bless God. "When God blesses man, it is to bestow good health, abundant success, and prosperity, both materially and spiritually. When man blesses God, it is presented in the forms of thanksgiving, reverence, obedience, praise, and worship. When a man blesses his fellow believer, he recites the Priestly Blessing of Numbers 6:22-27 and then proclaims the Holy Spirit-inspired Prophetic Blessing." Hagee declares, "When God Almighty, King of the universe, places His blessing upon you, no person on Earth can take it from you, and no power in the universe can eliminate it from your life!"

This is my first time to read and review a John Hagee book. I am thrilled at the opportunity to do so and I was not disappointed. This book is an excellent read. John Hagee writes with a fluid style, each concept flowing clearly and cleanly into the next making The Power of the Prophetic Blessing easy to read. The book is full of well-researched material it is beautifully composed with his theme divided into three sections and eleven chapters. The “Think on This” sections peppered throughout the book highlight the concepts covered in each chapter in a quick, memorable way. Every chapter focuses on something related to how you can bring God's prophetic blessing into your own life and work. Hagee's interpretations are solidly based on traditional Biblical values and he never strays from God’s Word. The invaluable part of this book lies in the personal stories that fit well with his book sections. For example, in the Genesis Blessing chapter, Pastor Hagee details how his son, Matthew was born and how he was called to preach the Gospel.

This book has been a blessing to me and it will touch the lives of my children. It is one thing to be a hearer of the Word, and another to act based on God’s Word. The Power of the Prophetic Blessing is biblically based and in order for the blessing to transform our lives, we must believe it, receive it, and do it. I highly recommend The Power of the Prophetic Blessing to anyone desiring to know more about it and how to apply it to life.

John Hagee’s latest book, The Power of the Prophetic Blessing, will probably contain few surprises for those who follow him. Since I seldom view his TV program or read other material authored by him, the book brought much of his biographical history to my attention for the first time. Pastor Hagee showed a great sense of humor in several of the personal incidents he relates. (Just thinking about them still makes me grin.) The book also encouraged me to think of familiar biblical passages in new ways.

The first two sections of the book explore biblical examples of prophetic blessings in the Old and New Testaments. While many passages were familiar ones, the interpretation and emphases Pastor Hagee used to develop his position on prophetic blessings prompted me to consider them from a different perspective. He also wove information concerning his personal commitment to the nation of Israel throughout these sections. Since the passages He used as examples concern the blessing of Israel and the blessing (or cursing) of those who affect Israel, the two strands worked together very well.

Section three of The Power of the Prophetic Blessing, delivered the application: our words and actions are powerful. With them, we can either bless or curse our family. Pastor Hagee explains releasing, receiving and proclaiming prophetic blessings in clear language — and includes examples of blessings for us to use.

I received the free advanced reader’s copy for review at a time only God could orchestrate.

I had wondered why a friend was not receiving God’s blessing on his property. He owns a few acres and a variety of domestic birds and animals. For the past few years, he has had little increase in his flocks or herds. He is a fine Christian man who serves in his church and honors God in his daily life. I tried praying for him with no change in his circumstances. Shortly after I received The Power of the Prophetic Blessing, I spoke to him about the situation. He said that he had been speaking negative words about his property. I told him that he might be cursing himself. He promised to be more careful and we prayed for God to bless him.

Our words are that powerful. The Power of the Prophetic Blessing demonstrates ways to harness our tongue for blessing. THAT is worth discovering. I highly recommend the book.

The Power of the Prophetic Blessing, offers an exciting message of encouragement and blessing for today and for generations to come. Hagee says, “Every blessing recorded in Scripture is available to you for the asking. You have not because you ask not. These blessings have the power to bring supernatural joy, and provide you peace of mind."

Find out how to become blessed beyond your capacity to contain it. Deuteronomy 28 contains blessings regarding your personal life and your material possessions. Hagee walks you through the Hebrew meaning and Scriptural significance of the well-known blessing, “May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. And may He give you peace.”

The Power of the Prophetic Blessing is not the first book out there regarding this topic, but it is easy to read and a good foundation to learn about the blessings God has for you and your loves ones. If you are new to this revelation you will love this book. In our complicated day we need good resources to focus on God’s love for us. When we apply what we learn then we will see the miracle of the blessing.

John Hagee, New York Best-Selling Author, encourages readers to refer to the Scriptures and research God's promises of Blessings and Prosperity to his people from the beginning of time. Mr. Hagee takes the Bible literally, exactly how I was raised in my home church. In fact, you will hear me often say that I was born spiritually rich however there are some discrepancies in how I define blessings and John Hagee's view of this wording. Author Hagee's emphasis leans more towards materialistic belongings whereas I was taught to believe '"But Lay Up Treasures for Yourself in Heaven where neither moth nor rust corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal"' {Matthew 6:20}. I firmly feel that our goal should be for spiritual gifts and treasures, that is not to say that God will not also bless us with what we need in this life, it's just a matter of priorities.
See Matthew 6:21 '"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"'.In the forward of his book, John Hagee states '"Humans have forever been searching for a guarantee of the good life--"' and his goal is to relate to readers how supernatural blessing when spoken by spiritual authority can help you experience spiritual, physical, emotional and relational prosperity. This book is divided into three sections as follows: Defining the Prophetic and Priestly Blessings; The Prophetic Blessings and Releasing and receiving the Blessing. This book reminds me of a recent conversation that my spouse and I had. I was telling him that if he prayed about a certain matter that the Lord would bless him. My husband was quite upset and quickly explained that the reason he was praying was because He loved the Lord, not because he expected anything in return. My concern is that it seems as if the writer is selling God to the people so that they will serve him for what they can get not out of the pureness of love in their hearts. Let me explain here, if we serve the Lord he does bless his people but that does not mean that they will walk through life without trials and tribulations '"it rains on the good and the bad"'. When loss or illness comes, it does not mean that God loves his children any less. Look at Job who the Lord allowed to be tested to prove his faithfulness. Despite our personal differences and interpretations of God's word, I am glad that I had the priviledge to review this book and learn of other believer's teachings. Very easy to understand and gain insight. I recommend to those who may be studying the differences in religions or denominations.

Review:

I enjoy reading books about Christian inspiration and spiritual growth - particularly the more unique topics - so when I got the chance to read John Hagee's The Power of Prophetic Blessing, I knew that I was in for some deep reflection. Being a Christian myself, I have heard many people exclaim how blessed they are by God, and how prayer and scriptural studies have helped them lead a happy and more fulfilled life; however, most people aren't really sure how to receive or use those blessings. I talk to God often, knowing that my prayers will be answered in whatever form they may come. The answer may not be what I want or expect, but I know that the Lord provides, even if the provisions are mysterious or unexpected. I have truly been blessed by the life I have been given, but I don't always know how to live it to the best of my abilities. That is why this book is so interesting, it not only details what men have sought for millions of years - happiness and a good/successful life - but it outlines the path to receiving God's blessings with examples from liturgical history; both from the Old and New Testaments. I like when Christian-based books cite scripture, the use of Bible verse makes the discussed topics easier to read, not to mention more accessible. Many Christians are guilty of not reading the bible from cover to cover - a somewhat daunting task - but the organized and condensed passages used in this book aid in enjoyment and comprehension. Each section is supported by the Bible's written word, and I felt a genuine truth to what I read. The book is well researched, to-the-point, and full of both personal and well-known stories of blessing and being blessed. The eight Proclaimations, (Your Children and Grandchildren,Your Wife, Your Business, Health and Healing, Time of Testing and Trial, Emotional Stability, The Favor of God, and Divine Prosperity), are a refreshing take on the modern prayer, allowing Christians to reflect on the deeper meaning behind their words of praise; truly bringing them closer to God. Great reference tool - recommended for readers interested in God's blessings throughout history, and ways to receive His blessings daily.

he Power of the Prophetic Blessing takes the reader into the Old and New Testament of the Bible and teaches them about the blessings mentioned within its pages. The Priestly Blessing and the Prophetic Blessing are both touched upon; however, the main focus is on the Prophetic Blessing. The Prophetic blessing is a blessing spoken, in prayer, onto another by someone who has spiritual authority to do so; it’s about the future of that person and the path God has chosen for them. In the book, Hagee teaches the reader about the history of the Prophetic Blessing as he shares with them what the blessing entails and how to minister it and how to receive it.

Before starting my review, I was curious about other people who have read this book. This made me do something I normally never do…I searched Google and came across some of their reviews. What made me curious was the subject of the book. I know how controversial some Christian beliefs can be, and I wanted to see how others approached this in their reviews. What I noticed was the divided response to the book; half of the reviews were positive and the other half were not. Well, here’s my thought on this book.

The Power of the Prophetic Blessing was written in three parts: the history (from the Old Testament), Jesus’ blessing (from the New Testament), and how to minister and receive the blessing.

Reading the first section of the book was very enlightening to me. I love history and like to learn about other cultures and traditions of past generations, and this book explored the past of the Jewish people and nation. John Hagee went into detail about each blessing Jacob ministered to his children (and to Joseph’s two sons). This was interesting to me because each tribe of Israel is a descendant of Jacob and it was fascinating to read about the history of each tribe as described in the Bible and to see where each tribe ended up.

Hagee shows us how the Prophetic Blessing started with Adam and Eve and goes down through the book with Matthew, Jeremiah, on down the line to Abraham . Pastor Hagee goes on to tell us how to release and receive the blessing. Who wouldn't want this blessing passed on to our children and grandchildren? I want to pass on ‘that we are all born to be blessed’ and other biblical truths I learned from Pastor Hagee to my children and grandchildren.

I keep Prophetic Blessing handy to help with my study of the Bible. Hagee writes a section called ‘Think On This’, they give you allot to ponder upon how deeply God’s blessings and promises are for all of us. I felt His presence, warmth and love for me as I read this book. I have learned allot from Pastor Hagee, this will not be the last book I read authored by Pastor Hagee.

I thought his knowledge of the Bible and his writing were wonderful. I would love to hear him speak in person, even on television. I would highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to learn more about 'The Prophetic Blessings' and about the promises and blessing from our God for all of us.

This is an excellent book for understanding the prophetic application of God's word impacting every day life. It isn't prophesying about future events and what the book of Revelation and all it's symbol entails. It aids in giving meaning and purpose to the christian life and managing their own personal lives impacting their future for generations to come.

Mr. Hagee uses numerous examples from the Old Testament through the examples of God speaking on Israel to exemplify his point. He states the Jewish people have obeyed the prophetic blessing principles and long ago received the benefits of the such blessings. His book attempts to address the potential of it 's use in our Christian lives which he feels has been overlooked by most christians for 2000 since it's humble beginnings. The book is very readable and personable with encouraging scripture reference and long forgotten key biblical accounts. It is a recommended read that will bless anyone who relies on God's word for guidance.

I finally had to stop reading this book for a couple of reasons. It was so packed full of information in each chapter, page, paragraph, etc. I was due to turn in my review on this book by a certain date and I was only halfway through the book. Also, I went to the library and picked up another book to read and wanted to finish that before it was due. But I do recommend it if you are interested in the topic of blessing, prophecy, etc. It would be a good starting point.

This was a slow read for me. I found I missed the point with some of the authors examples, however I was encouraged as I found that the general focus of the book, to unlock God's blessings, I had already implemented on my own without realising it!
The latter half of the book was better than the first half.

When I agreed to read and review this book for the publisher, I will admit that I knew very little about author John Hagee. I recognized his name from his television ministry but, if I'm being honest, I spend very little time watching televangelists because television ministries lack a key component of ministry - relationship. I say this simply to convey that I have no idea where Mr. Hagee stands theologically. I do not know his denomination or his stances on the popular theological debates of our time.

I will, however, argue that his book, The Power of the Prophetic Blessing, reveals some theological miscues. To make a long story short, Mr. Hagee is asserting that God proclaimed certain blessings on the Israelites that are now offered to Christians (who have supplanted, or at least joined with, the Jewish people as God's chosen ones) and all we must do is claim those blessings in the name of Jesus Christ. Hagee writes, "The priestly blessing was not just for Moses. Levi, and the elite members of the tribe of Levi; it was intended for every person on the face of the earth!"

According to Hagee, all you have to do to claim your blessings is say them out loud and claim them as your own. Or as my wife astutely put it - Name it and claim it.

For example, Hagee writes:

"I want you, regardless of your circumstances or how hopeless you feel at this moment, to say aloud, 'I was born to be blessed.'Begin thinking of yourself as successful in everything you put your hand to. I encourage you to end all destructive speech about yourself, your spouse, your children, your current circumstances, and your future. You have the power to turn your life around!"

Hagee claims that when he began preaching on the power of the prophetic blessing in his local church that everyone's lives suddenly took a turn for the better. He even shares a heartwarming, personal story of how his unborn baby was saved from birth defects simply because Hagee claimed blessings in his name.

I have several problems with Hagee's theology.

First, I am a dispensationalist. I believe the the church and the Israelites are distinct groups. Both are saved by Jesus Christ, but a promise or blessing made to the Jewish people is not automatically conveyed upon the church. I believe God has separate programs in store for both. Hagee seems to believe the Jewish people and the Church are one in the same. He is certainly not alone in this belief, however, it is one that I do not agree with.

Secondly, while I do believe that God blesses believers (and unbelievers to a certain extent), I do not believe that I can claim the specific blessings I desire simply by proclaiming them. Hagee seems to take the power of blessing away from God Almighty and claim it for himself. As he shared the story of his unborn baby's rescue from birth defects it seemed less about what God did and more about what Hagee himself did. This makes me very uncomfortable.

Finally, Hagee's theology doesn't jive with reality. Life is hard sometimes. Heck, when Siddhattha Gotama ventured from isolation to view the world for the first time his immediate observation was that life is hard. According to Hagee, these hardships can be wished away in the name of Christ. This is hogwash. The Bible I read tells me that life is difficult and that God will stand by us no matter how mad it gets. It tells me that I can experience the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and a taste of Heaven on earth provided I put my faith in Jesus Christ. And finally, it promises me that someday I will live in a literal Kingdom ruled by Christ Himself. It does not, however, promise me a perfect life in the here and now provided I simply claim it.

Hagee's theology offers no hope to the believer who is truly suffering. What about the couple whose baby is born with a birth defect. In Hagee's church, the couple could of avoided the trauma if they had just had a little more faith and proclaimed their blessings with just a little more boldness.

This is a twisted and perverted take on the gospel that is presented in the Bible. Personally, I do not recommend this book for anyone.

The image on the cover of this book is an open treasure chest with golden light spilling out from it. It reminds me a bit of "Raiders of The Lost Ark". I think it is about as valid Biblically as "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is as well. I have not read anything by John Hagee before, but I had heard his name and wanted to see what he had to say and was interested in reading the free copy of the book I got to review. I was sadly disappointed with the book. The author has a clear agenda and he picks and choses Bible verses and stories and just says that they support his points. For instance, he claims that "be fruitful and multiply" is both a blessing and a command and therefore must imply that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. What about people who can't or don't want to have children? Are they disobedient or not blessed? Ugh! He also claims that Jeremiah 1:4-5 "clearly declares" that "God has called children to a divine work and has sanctified them for that work while they were in their mother's wombs". Really? It seems to me that verse is only about Jeremiah - not about all children. The book goes on and on in the same vein with the author giving Bible verses and saying that they support his views when they have nothing to do with them in reality.
He also says "If you do not passionately believe it - you will not achieve it!" That sounds like the power of positive thinking to me rather than the power of God. It takes matters out of God's hands and makes the results directly linked to the ability of the believer to believe passionately. If you don't achieve it, you obviously did not believe passionately enough.
I was not impressed at all with this book.
