Of course I paused all other reading when this released 😄 just like I’ve done with the other 5 novellas in this collection. It was wonderful and everything I would hope for in a short and sweet book. This one and Love’s Undoing are my favs so far! 🤗
The Ranger’s Reward is the sixth novella in The American Brides Collection by Gabrielle Meyer. These novellas are so fun! I had been reading them in order as they were being released to Kindle Unlimited last year, but I fell off the train and am just now coming to finish the rest of the novellas.
I’ve really enjoyed the whole series, but I must say: this one is my favorite so far. This short story involves a Texas Ranger and a widowed, single mom and her young son. When trouble comes to Madelyn’s farm by way of outlaws, Griff is thankfully there to save the day…and pretend to be Madalyn’s husband for the time-being. Who doesn’t love the fake marriage trope when it’s done like that?
For a short book, there was a lot packed into this story and a lot of character development.
If you haven’t read this novella series yet, I would definitely recommend it to you! Stay tuned for reviews of the rest of the books coming soon. :)
I absolutely love this novella series. I know I say it about every one I read, but this one is definitely my favorite. The danger, the sweet romance, the wild west...absolutely beautiful. I wish there was more!
This was very short and sweet! I wish it could have been longer to develop their romance cause I loved the premise and the characters. With it being so short it just felt like there wasn't a ton of relationship development. But the characters were PRECIOUS!!!! I love a protective guy! And fake marriage!
I enjoyed this sweet novella, with its Texas ranger, the widow and her son, and the outlaws that caused them to pretend they were married. I’m reading and enjoying all the author’s wedding novellas!
I think this book is my favorite of the series, so far. Griff was the ultimate protector and hero and Madelyn, the protective mama bear of her little son. Little Harrison, the adorable little five year old boy, who instantly took to his new papa 💘
Another fun read in this series! This one might be my favorite so far. Love Madeline’s and Griff’s story and how Meyer put him at the exact place when he was needed. Looking forward to reading the next one.
It was a decent book for the size of it. I know times were different back then too. I can’t get behind the fact that they get married after only five days though. If they were courting after I think I would have rated it higher.
This is my favorite of all of the novellas so far. The romance was so sweet, I loved the suspense in it and a happy ending. Such a perfect quick read. I didn’t want it to end!
Very well established characters and high stakes and a very compact story! I was invested very quickly, and the ending was satisfying, and novellas are not usually my preferred form of story.
