Farah, a successful criminal defense attorney, can't resist the seductive pull of David, son of the infamous mob boss Freddy Orsi. Because she can’t jeopardize her career by being with a mafia prince, Farah rejects David, vowing to stay away from him. But, being a man used to getting what he wants, David is relentless, popping up everywhere Farah goes and refusing to take no for an answer.
Farah falls under David's hypnotic spell when he shows up at the law library of her firm, and this time Farah can’t fight her urges. She and David share a wicked encounter that leaves them feigning for more.
As they continue their scandalous romps, David falls in love with Farah, forcing her to choose between her feelings for him and confronting past demons that make her so afraid to love.

I just finished The Don's Son by Stacy-Deanne, and I'm kind of in the middle on this one. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Some parts were cool, but other parts just didn't quite do it for me.
Basically, it's about David, whose dad is a Don (like, the Don, mafia Don kind of thing), and Farah, who's a lawyer. I thought the idea of their two totally different worlds clashing was pretty interesting, and it definitely set up some potential for drama. I also liked how persistent David was with Farah. It showed he was really into her.
But… David was really intense, especially at first. It felt like he was coming on a little too strong, and I kinda wished he'd been a bit more gentle and patient, especially since Farah had some understandable reasons to be hesitant, what with his family and her past. The relationship felt super focused on the physical stuff, and I didn't totally buy that they were actually in love. It felt more like, you know… lust.
Farah also got on my nerves a little. I get why she was reluctant, but some of her reactions felt a bit over the top. Like when she turned down David's proposal – it felt a bit harsh. I would've liked to see her be a little more understanding.
The story kept repeating itself. We kept hearing about how David was watching Farah before they met and how worried she was about his family. It just made the story feel a bit slow and gave off a slow burn vibe to the book.
One thing to note: if you're expecting a ton of mafia stuff, you might be disappointed. There's only one scene that really has anything to do with the mafia, and it's not super detailed.
On the bright side, the author does write some pretty hot scenes (Bow chicka wow wow). If you're into that, you'll probably enjoy those parts.
The Don's Son had a cool idea and some fun moments, but David's intensity, the lack of a real emotional connection, and the repetitive plot kept it from being a total winner for me. I'd recommend it to people who are really into steamy romance and don't mind if the plot isn't super complex.

I went into this book expecting the usual mafia romance energy — dominance, control, “touch her and die” possessiveness. What I didn’t expect was softness. David is the son of a mafia boss, yet with Farrah, he’s patient, attentive, and deeply intentional. He studies her. Learns her. Waits for her. And somehow that restraint feels more powerful than any gun or threat ever could. Farrah, on the other hand, is still haunted by grief. Losing Anthony shattered her trust in love, so when David offers permanence, she bolts. It frustrated me — because I’m a big believer in communication — but it also felt painfully human. Sometimes we don’t run from people… we run from hope. What made this story work for me wasn’t just the spice (which was perfectly balanced and very well written). It was the emotional arc. Watching her finally choose him back, watching them fight for each other instead of against each other — that’s what made the ending satisfying. Not explosive. Not tragic. Just… earned. A BW/WM mafia romance with passion, healing, and second chances. And honestly? It felt good to finish a dark-leaning story that didn’t break my heart.
Interesting concept, this steamy romance stands apart from the norm. I love that he purses their mutual attraction despite her resistance. I was shocked at how he managed his family lifestyle and prioritized his determination to romance her and patiently waits for her mind to catch up with her heart. Comeuppance not withstanding, I felt that her rejection of him should've been more gentle, less angry emotions and a little more compassionate. He is the son of the Don, and she is a criminal defense attorney. Farah is determined to keep away from David, but he is resolute to get her in his life even showing up in unexpected places. Will David break down Farah's barriers to get his chance for happiness with her. This heartfelt stowing kept me glued to the pages.

Was a first time read for me with this author it was actually not bad...A bad boy story from a different perspective which intrigued me to finish this book but, I believe it could have been a lil longer and a lil deeper into the back story
I don’t know who published this book but, the way it was lined up was just awful! The sentences ended in the middle of the page! It was hard to read a lot of the pages! It was like the were extending the book because they had so few words to complete it!!!!
This was a fast paste read , I enjoyed the couple and their storyline. I enjoyed how he pursuit her even when she said no. I think she should have told him about her insecurity from the beginning and he would have not gotten his heart broken.
This was beyond unbelievable. It's a short story and I still skipped pages. How can you cram so many stereotypes in such a short story? 😫 Not enjoyable at all.
