Nothing calls down the shepherd faster than Bob trying to take a few days of shore leave. This time an old friend of John’s gets involved. Bob has to try and keep things from spilling over onto innocent bystanders, and the girls try to have a little fun, while they’re dirtside. Come see what they get into.
I’m a house husband. I keep things together while my wonderful wife makes our living. I’ve worked as a machinist, short order cook, electronics assembly tech, and several other jobs. My hobbies include vehicle maintenance, (I’ve had the transmission out of my truck. Twice) free flight airplanes, electronics, and shooting. I was born and raised in the Ozarks, and now live in Mid-Missouri.
We have "wise guys," cartels, Chinese Intelligence, C4, trackers, assassins, and a freaking partridge in a pear tree. Nope, wait a minute. That was a spy with a super long-range lens... The whole convoluted cast of "bad guys" is going round and round. Awesome entertainment! Oh, and Bob only got (redacted) twice. Sorry, I had to leave that spoiler out. I will mention that poor Nikki is pregnant again. Ginger root helps with that, Jerry. And its readily available on planet. Love the books, love the characters, & love the whole series. I have a couple minor criticisms. Why are there no organic female pilots for the big ships? Just asking... Also, the kids would likely enjoy female science fiction authors just as much as they like the males. And Becky, especially, needs that kind of input to grow her brain properly. It is a known issue in child development, not just some crazy hypothesis. I promise. Plus, I can't wait to see which ones you pick out! You have great taste in fiction. :) Highly recommend to buy or borrow. 9/10 saucers 🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸
This book starts by closing out the action from the previous installment and sending our group back to earth and the holler. Several scenes of action and general local conflicts, with resolutions for nearly everything. As we near the end of this book, we find a deeper connection extending outside the normal borders and manage to reach the end of this book with one major unresolved story poised to pull the reader into the next book.
The fleet finally gets finished with the birds and returns to Earth for some well earned R&R so of course someone has put a contract out on Bob. Bit different this time because there isn't any aleins behind it all just the local wise guy organization that has the wrong boss and John friend gets help from BSR to remedy that only to realize the old boss's son was dumber than he thought and had made connections with foreign nationals who were also trying to take Bob out. Time for the wreath of Bob!!!!
Like the vivid descriptions and the smooth flow of the story. I was surprised there in the middle of the story where I sort of drifted out of the story line. The expectation of finding of more of Grandpa's weapons. That thread got lost and it kept nagging at me. Keep it up, the Chinese need a bit of Bob's wrath. Going to be interesting to see what kind of leverage the PB weennies are trying.
This is one of my favorite sci-fi series, and as with most series' be sure to read them in order. This book is above average, compared to other books in the series. I enjoyed the storyline. This book and this series are absolutely top-notch compared to most other sci-fi sci-fi books out there.
If you like sci-fi, and can cope with an informal writing style, you'll do yourself a favor to try out the series.
Another fun space opera from Jerry Boyd. Back on Earth for some shore leave for the human crew and some music and car magic for the bots. But there is always a troublemaker around to keep Bob on his toes. This time the bullets are flying. Will bad guys finally succeed? Stay tuned, kids.
The major issue I have is how sad I get as I reach the end. Even though it never ends with any cliff hangers I want to just turn the page and continue to find out what is going to happen next. It is hard to wait for the next book to come out. Please! Keep up the great work.
Not sure why I am suddenly reviewing this. I reviewed the first six, but then kind of gave up as life got busy.
This one feels like we're headed for end of world stuff. Or maybe just the nerd's ultimate dream/nightmare- what happens when there are no more mountains worth conquoring?
I really enjoyed this book. I was hoping for a story with more interaction between the fleet crews and earth characters and this was that. I would like to see more of earth advancement due to the fleet. Highly recommend reading this book. Keep it up Jerry ! A fine book can’t wait for the next one in this series.
I've really enjoyed this series. It really pulls you in and takes you on a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. Jerry's incredible imagination and writing style allow him to introduce new situations and characters that beg for you to keep turning pages. I can't wait for the next one.
I have enjoyed reading the last few Bob and Nikki books. Wise Guys was tuff. I keep expecting a major change in the direction of the story and it did not happen. The story was down to earth and very home like. It was a very enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more. Keep writing and I will keep reading.
Just consumed book 51. Keep them coming. I love the new series too. You just have a humor and way with words I recognize since my people came from Arkansas. Keep up the good work. You are appreciated.
I really enjoy the characters and the storylines you spin. Please don't stop anytime soon. As always I look forward to the next chapter in the lives you have created. I also like the new series with Mark.
After 50 books I thought I had my fill. However, this book was great with more threats on Bobs life than any of the previous books. Looking forward to rolling up the Chinese miscreants.
It doesn't seem like I've read 51 books! The hardest part is waiting for the next one. You spin a great story Jerry Boyd. Thank you for making a little piece of my life so much fun.
Bob, Nikki, and the rest of the crew decide to take shore leave on Earth but other people just won’t let them be. Bad guys get caught and good people get the help they need. Another great story.
I'm so glad to find another book in this series. I was jonesing for Bob and Nikki. LOL 😂 I can see where this series of books can go on and on and on. And I hope they do. I'm sitting here with a smile on my face because I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Jerry's mind is a national treasure. I have read all 51 of the Bob and Nikki books to my great joy. As soon as a new one arrives I stop what I'm doing and enjoy the book. Thanks for for all the good reading.
Don't know how this author manages such interesting, fun stories book after book. But I stop whatever I'm doing, or reading, to read the latest bok as soon as it comes out. He never disappoints me!
Oddly the settling back into Earth gave some good insight into the challenges as the family grows. And some fun sequel options with historical and genomic circumstances.
The great thing about this series is that each book is as great as the last one. I have read all 51 books in the series and eagerly look forward to the next one. I hope that Jerry Boyd keeps writing these books for a very long time!
This is a enjoyable read of the next book in the series! Some good twists and surprising turns. I have been waiting with little patience for the next several twists in the story line.
I didn't want to put this book down, I just finished reading and it's 2:30 a.m. Jerry Boyd is a great story teller, and I'm looking forward to the next book.
If you read the earlier books you will love this one. I'm not going to give you any spoilers. If you like sci-fi with aliens and tech you will love the series!
