I’ve always loved a good hero. Growing up, I played with Ninja Turtles as much as Barbie dolls. I had to be home in time to watch the Power Rangers every day, and I will forever be the Pink Ranger.
And then there were the books—so many good books. I loved getting lost in new worlds, and eventually, making up my own. I don’t think it can get better than that, except with a big mug of Community Coffee in my hand.
I grew up in Louisiana, so what other coffee brand is there? I still live in a small Cajun town with my husband and five children. I wake up early and write most mornings, then homeschool the kids. The rest of the day is open to shenanigans, and hopefully, I get some time to read.
Did I mention I drink a lot of coffee?
I always dreamed of being an author, and now that dream is happening with the publication of my first novel, Firesight. It’s a little hard to believe that I got to live in these characters’ heads, and now you do too!
An epic finale to the series. The group of warriors, fairies, rebels and dragon riders must band together for their final confrontation against Skardin as his shadowy threats increase alongside his stolen control of the dragons. As Tiber plans a rescue mission, Vondra bargains with the fairy queen, and Luci tries to battle shadows, all with the hopes of unearthing cryptic prophecies to find the true stormsight. They need a miracle to win against the darkness, and loyalty is truly tested on both sides of the war. It's full of fast paced action, bravery, hope and redemption, in the final battle of good v evil to free the dragons and save the realm. This has been a fantastic series filled with unique magic, dragons, battles, resilience and courage.
"Stormsight" is a fitting and exciting end to this trilogy! It has been an honor to be part of this series from the very beginning. These books are a great dragon fantasy adventure for ages 10 and up and adults will really enjoy them too. Highly recommended!
It had been more than a year since I had read the first 2 books in the series and though it tugged at my memory, I thought I would have to re-read them before I started this book. Not so! Within a first few pages, the memory unlocked and it entirety of the story came crashing down on me, in all it's splendour and the reason I enjoyed this series so much was crystal clear!
The prologue was an immediate tug on my emotions, and I was not prepared for the onslaught of intense action right off the bat! The pace kept up the tempo throughout, fervent, firey, moving my along with the characters passionately. Passionately because I absorbed every word of this story, hung on to every deed, clung desperately on to hope. And that's the crux of this wonderful read, HOPE! A lesson that hope will always light a path, hope will always aid in giving strength, hope is the backbone to chase away fear and any dark thoughts that want to creep in. The fight is far from easy, so many obstacles in the way, so much misconception and the danger very real. I loved seeing the "evolvement" of characters like Vonda and Fitz and heck did Jamison surprise me! What a cool and extensive cast of characters! What a dramatic story! It's not a simple "good vs evil" it's a realisation of humanity, of trust, truth and resolute strength that makes this story soar like the gorgeous dragons!
Even though some characters, like Sebb and Jameson reek of treachery and betrayal, there is way more than meets the eye. Way, way more. The author very cleverly concealed certain facts, hiding them under layers of intrigue, allowing a tiny shard to sprinkle through, just enough to keep one interested, to keep one guessing "is he, isn't he". The angst and pain I felt for Izzy was as real as she experienced, it nearly tore my heart in two. My heavens, what a thrill it was to experience this read! These beautiful characters are full of colour, full of radiance and illuminate the pages. They have grown in leaps and bounds from book 1, shedding their prejudice, shrugging off their fears, working together to overcome a great evil. My word, when the misguided, the evil, the hopeless and the hopeful, together with the remorseful, converge into a battle of all battles, so intense it took my breath away at times! So many moments, so many moments was I in despair of their situation, of what they faced. However... this author took my doubts, infused them with hope and soundly tossed all doubts aside! The twists battered me like battering rams, I couldn't see them coming, I DIDN'T see them coming, yes, I certainly was agog at some!
Some characters were very easy to like, Tiber and Luci, for example, others, well, they were a work in progress so when I realised I HAD in fact come to like them, I was a bit surprised. The dragons stirred up a rage in me at the injustice done to them! Jessica kept me against the rails the entire time, only allowing me to catch my breath at the very end. A fantastic conclusion to a great series.
I really enjoyed the final installment of this trilogy. Norris did a wonderful job keeping the suspense while also tieing up the loose ends with all the characters and relationships.
It was a crazy fun ride as Tiber and Luci race against time to prevent the shadow dragon from consuming the world. The guardians dragons were captured, giving them the chance to realize that they are strong, even without their dragon compannions to aid them. Could the answer be so simple as HOPE?
I really enjoyed the rollercoaster ride of 'Who is the Stormsight?' and Norris wrapped up a great ending for all the characters, fairy and human alike.
Warrick was my favorite fairy, and I was glad he finally got the acceptance and respect he always desired. But there were so many interesting side characters to keep the story flowing and interesting.
But of course for me, the favorite is Izzy, the fire dragon. I just love her personality and how she fights the shadows tooth and claw. Sapphire and Storm(im just going to call her that) were awesome too.
Beautifully written, very captivating, and a perfect conclusion to this epic trilogy.
Tiber and Luci are back, and even more determined than ever. The story starts off fast-paced, picking up right where we left off in "Frostsight"—with Tiber on a mission to reclaim his dragon. Right from the get-go, we're thrown into Elongtra and all the action. I was hooked from page 1.
As with "Firesight" and "Frostsight", the themes of good vs. evil are prevalent, and Light vs. dark is further emphasized when the "dark" literally is embodied in the Shadow dragon. The message conveyed was well done. The action felt like it was non-stop, building right up to the finale, where Light and dark face-off in the inevitable battle against formidable foes.
I just really loved this book—this whole series. I've been fortunate to stumble upon this author and her works, and will forever advocate for this series.
I mean, who doesn't love dragons and dragon-riders?🐉
Absolutely loved it! It's my favorite book in the trilogy. Dragons ✅ Resilient teens who never give up ✅ Action, action & more action! ✅ Stormsight continues the timeline one month after Frostsight ends. Will Tiber and Luci be able to save their dragons from the Shadows before it's too late? It's much easier to understand the plot & characters if you have read the first two books in the trilogy. New characters emerge and there a many flashback scenes that help the reader understand the motivations and decisions made by the returning characters. Who is the real Stormsight? Is it Emperor Skardin? Is it someone else? There are a few really good candidates and the story keeps you guessing until the very end. Bonus points for the map! It's so much easier to understand the terrain and climate of each location with the map. Last but not least, the book jacket is gorgeous.
This review covers the 3 book set. This trilogy is a great story. It is an easy read, not complicated with made up terms like some other Scifi books. This follows two main characters, Tiber and Luci who end up bonded to dragons as their unknown destiny as the Firesight and Frostsight as the first 2 book titles. The Stormsight dragon being controlled by the evil emperor. The story is not overly complex and full of basic human interaction even though faeries are involved as well. You get invested in these characters and their friends as they grow and learn about friendship and betrayal and how to handle their abilities in a series long battle against an evil emperor who wants to rule all. Familiar high level plot line but a different story.A nice addition to your library and appropriate for young adults and old alike.
This is a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful debut series. Can we also admire the cover for a moment. They just keep getting better, and that purple is beyond fabulous.
Tiber and Luci and Izzy and Sapphire and all of their friends continue their fight against the emperor. Shadows emerge that make things seem more impossible than ever, and yet hope also comes from unexpected places. It's a very satisfying finish with many points that make us wonder can they do it. But they have to. I'm sad to say goodbye to characters I've grown to love over the past few years, but am excited for the potential spinoffs I hope will be coming soon.
I edited this book, so I accept any and all bias, but I'm sure readers will forgive it and love it as much as I do.
I never thought I was the dragon book type, but these books have been excellent! Jessica's storytelling and world building draw you in right from the beginning. You feel the despair of certain doom and then the hope that maybe all is not lost. You feel the temptation to draw on shadows and the struggle to resist and do what is right. The action, suspense, and plot twists are great. The characters are deep and believable, and I find myself cheering them on through their successes and failures, which all come to a dramatic conclusion in this final book. I have to say, I am sad that the series is over now, but this series is one that I will definitely read again!
I received an ARC of this book and have reviewed it willingly because it is amazing!
this book was a struggle to get through, as the other 2 books in this trilogy were.
this one is just as flat, uneventful, and not captivating.
I feel that the lack of diverse magic was hurting this trilogy's potential. having only 3 natural magics in this book didn't allow for much "action" and everything was just predictable because of it. any fantasy book I've ever read has had MANY types of magic/magical abilities in it; I've never felt so limited in creative reading as I have with these books.
these books had real potential though. I truly feel that if the author expanded her imagination more, or even had a stronger editorial team, these books could've easily been rated higher.
Very good book and series! A little predictable in places. I enjoyed the character arcs as well as the action. My one complaint with the third book - time and distance. About half-way through, everyone seems to be able to just go back and forth between locations in a blink, when we are led to believe it is a journey. Even at the end, Tiber says it is a journey to go back.
I read this full series in three weeks. I got lucky as the third book came out when I started the first one!
I really enjoyed this story. The characters, the adventure, and the magic kept me wanting to know more.
I’m not someone who reads a lot, so a book series that grabbed my attention like this one has been really fun. I am so interested in the world the author has created that I would read more!
I started this trilogy on a whim, the story sounded fun and the covers are beautiful. I didn't know what to expect, and got a trilogy that is now one of my favorites. I enjoyed the character development even in the first book. I loved the pace of the books and the different perspectives of the characters. I would definitely recommend this trilogy for any dragon fans.
I'm so sad this series has ended, but wow...what a finale! Tiber and Luci have faced so much together and with their dragons. I love how far they have come, how strong they are, and that they not only rely on each other, their friends and dragons, but hope. Highly recommend this series to anyone who loves fantasy. Strong plot, amazingly memorable characters, the best dragons. Always fight the dark (shadows) with hope. Loved this series, so much!
I enjoyed this conclusion to this fun dragon series. I admit finding out who the Stormsight was was a little predictable, but I enjoyed it anyway. I appreciate how Jessica gives subtle reminders of past plot points to remind you how they all weave together. Thank you, Jessica, for a fun series!
I really enjoyed this trilogy. I know it is probably intended for a younger audience but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fast paced and the plot was great. I highly recommend - especially for younger readers who don't a lot of descriptive spice.
This book was a roller coaster of emotions….. so unpredictable, loved the plot and definitely loved the new characters. Thank you Jessica Norris for this amazing dragon adventure. I can’t not wait for the new one.
Like I stated in Firesight, if you want a dragon riser story that's all fantasy and no spice, then this here is a lovely read! I highly enjoyed this series and can't wait to see what Jessica comes up with next
The last book of this Trilogy was amazing. The pace was great and the writing was very well improved. Jessica created an amazing world and characters and I enjoyed reading it.
Great series!! “The light is always stronger than the shadows.” A dystopian society with dragons and fairies. Lots of twists and turns! Enjoyed and could not put the book down once I started!!
