I enjoyed the final story in the Justin Wright series, but will miss the world and its strong, resilient, and authentic characters.
The story is riveting and intriguing after Justin’s grandson, Daniel goes missing. Michael is the father of Daniel and struggles to move on after his son’s disappearance. He finds his own demons with a former client, Benji who is hell-bent on making him suffer.
Michael also struggles with a current client who is diagnosed with paranoid personality disorder. He gets entangled into his world when past triggers restrict the way he’s able to help his client.
Time goes on and Daniel is still missing. Meanwhile, Justin has a dark cloud looming when a former client, Richard gets released from prison, having been convicted for attempted murder against Justin years prior.
Justin ensures he gets police protection, not knowing how to predict Richard’s actions.
Later in the story, the situation changes, but I never expected the story to end the way it did. I would have preferred a little less darkness and greater joy, but it is a dark thriller.
Despite the dark intensity of the story, it was a suspenseful and page-turning novel that made me lose sleep.
The entire series is brilliant and so well worth the read.
