He is the man my father warned me about—too bad I didn’t listen.

I hate Brendan Quinn.
He’s half of the Dublin Brute/Dublin Beast enforcer twins and is suspected in all manner of violent crimes—that’s not my issue with him.

Because of my father’s position in Europol, optics are everything. He background checks my friends, he forbids me to do almost anything, and he moves me all around the EU without giving my life a second thought. In the mind of Jordan Kelly, me toeing the line is a small price to pay for the important work he does weeding out organized crime to end the rule of mafia organizations.

But when he heads up a new organized crime task force in Ireland, a random act of violence drops me into Brendan Quinn’s orbit. I try to resist him—I honestly do—but the Dublin Brute is so much more than a criminal out for blood. Beneath his need to throw fists and draw blood, I see him...the man.

Not all good guys are good and not all bad guys are bad... and sometimes the enemy is standing right in front of you and you fail to realize the danger until it's too late.

Dublin Brute is Book 3 in the Emerald Isle Mafia series. This is a Dark Mafia M/F Romance full of heat, betrayal, and survival that will take your heart hostage and never let go. Each book is a connected standalone with a completed story and HEA. This is a spicy Dark Mafia, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, arranged marriage romance, which features scenes of a violent as well as explicit sexual nature.

Overall Thoughts: This was my first book by duo Jen and Caroline, and it was a good introduction to this series (I listened out of order, and I won’t lie that I signed up for this ALC, because of Sean Masters). While it might have made it easier to know who was who in the story before listening, I was still able to follow along, I just didn’t have the in depth backstories, but this book was well written, and even with the twists and turns, I was able to follow the storyline. This was also my first book by Melissa and she did a good job,I just have a really tough time with British female narrators. I don’t know why, it’s just a thing. Sean was great as Brenden, and the Irish accent was impressive, but there were a few times where it seemed like some of the side characters lost their Irish brogue. Overall a good book, but would recommend starting with book one for other character back stories.

Narration: Duet, first person present tense, dual POV, with some flashbacks

Tropes: M@fia, sheltered FMC, cop dad, MMA fighter, enforcer, big family, friend death (on page), mistaken identity, asserting independence, attacked, s3x trafficking themes, mine, OTTP

Overall: 4
Spice: 3
Humor: 1.5
Drama: 3.5
Darkness: 2.5
Narration: 4.5

Nora is the daughter of an overbearing dad. After losing her mom, he’s kept Nora close, but she’s ready to breakout on her own, so when she meets a handsome man, who makes her swoon, her want and need to move out on her own only increase.

Brendan is one part of the Dublin Brute/Beast duo. Twin enforcers for the Quinn Family. When he meets Nora, he is instantly taken with the sweet woman, and keeps his true identity from her, so she doesn’t have any preconceived notions about him. So, when she learns who he truly is, her actions spark an unforeseen chain of events that embeds Nora deeper into Brendan’s life

When she gets to know Brendan, she learns that things are not always what they seem on the surface, and when her dad pushes his investigation of the Quinn family, Nora must decide where her loyalties lie, and what she is willing to do to keep the man she’s fallen for safe.

What a wonderful way to jump back into the Irish mafia world on Emeral Isle. I really enjoyed book 2 in this series and was excited to return and continue to explore the love lives of the Quinn brothers. This one is where we meet the Brute, Branden, who I thought at first introduction is far more charming than his moniker would suggest. And that is true for the most part... that is, until his love interest Nora finds herself in some rather precarious situations and that is when the vicious brute comes out and wrecks havoc on those who dared to harm her. The chemistry between these two were instantaneous and blossomed into a forbidden relationship when it comes to light that she is the daughter of the head of a task force to take down organized crime in Dublin. Nora's father is not only controlling but he is like a dog with a bone, he is hell bent on taking down the Quinn family and every other organized crime syndicate even if that means toeing the line of what is lawfully acceptable and what falls more in the "grey area". This puts a strain on Nora and Branden's budding romance but, even more, importantly might place them both in unforeseen danger!

This was so much fun and totally addicting to listen to with Sean Masters and Melissa Maybeck at the helm of this audiobook. I found the characters so dynamic and the plot engaging, the atmosphere tense and the performances, for the most part, immersive. If I were to pick holes, I would say two points: 1) some of the accents were not super super consistent which, for someone who is not from that part of the world to have noticed, it must be at least brought up, I think. 2) the ending felt a bit rushed personally. I wish they had taken the time to iron out all conclusion a bit more than just cramming it all in the last 2 chapters.

Overall, I had a great time and I look forward to Bryan and Finn's story when the audiobook comes out! :3

I received an ALC of this story but all opinions are my own.

📖: 🌟🌟🌟.5/5
🎧: 🌟🌟🌟.5/5

Dublin Brute is the third story in the Emerald Isle Mafia series. It follows Brendan Quinn, younger brother of the new Quinn family boss and family enforcer, and Nora Kelly, daughter of the Europol taskforce leader charged with ending organised crime in Dublin. This is an interconnected standalone story, so can be read independently of the previous books (which I did!).

I enjoyed this story. I found it pretty compelling and I basically listened to the whole thing in one day! I really enjoyed the dynamics between the Quinn brothers.l, although I do feel that this was one area that reading the previous stories might have added a little more depth! I felt that the climax of the story was over too quickly, and it did end up feeling a little anticlimactic as it all happened within a single chapter.

I liked Nora as a character because she wasn't just a strong person from the start. She learns to be strong for herself in the face of her father's controlling behaviour and calls him out when he crosses a line (even if he doesn't listen to her).

For me, there were times when the language seemed a little incongruous. The story is set in Ireland, however some of the vocabulary choices felt North American and were jarring for me and took me out of the story.

I definitely thought that this book would be a bit spicier than it was. Near the beginning Brendan describes his almost fetish/kink around blood, but this doesn't really develop into anything.

The narration for this story was performed in duet style by Sean Masters and Melissa Maybeck. Whilst I thought Sean's Irish accent was largely really good, there was the odd word that sounded more American to me, and the Liverpudlian accents he did weren't a Liverpudlian accent (which is quite distinctive) but just a Yorkshire/generic northern accent. As a native Brit, this was quite obvious to me and took me out of the story. Melissa Maybeck is a new-to-me narrator and I enjoyed her performance. The accent for Nora was a little unusual, but I think it worked based on the fact she had be born in Ireland but raised all over Europe. I thought their voices worked well together and made on the whole for an enjoyable listen.

Overall, I did enjoy this story and will be looking out for more in this series!

This series just keeps getting better and better. I will admit I haven't really paid much attention to the twins so far and am now upset with myself for not doing so. Brendan and his brutish ways and sweet Nora are like oil and water, they do not belong together and yet they cannot stay away from each other.

Obviously a world of violence is nothing new for Brendan, especially with him being a fighter. Nora on the other hand has been sheltered her entire life by her father, a man of the law. She has barely allowed to have friends so she treasures the couple friendships she does have. While out one night things happen and Nora's life is changed forever. Both good and bad come out of that night and therefore starts the story of her and Brendan.

I love these two together. Nora may have innocence to herself but she takes things in stride and adjusts accordingly. She is so adorable with the way she thinks she isn't good enough for Brendan and not understanding what he sees in her while he only sees her, literally from the moment his eyes land on her she is all he thinks about. He is determined for them to be together and I love how he held nothing back when it came to who he was. Her safety always comes first though too.

These Quinn men definitely have my attention at this point!!!

********AUDIO REVIEW********
Melissa Maybeck and Sean Masters narrate in duet style and I really enjoyed how they sound together. Melissa is new to me. She had that "innocent" sound to her that I felt Nora had. She was great with her accent and then having to switch to American Laine.

Sean is a favorite of mine and he has yet to voice a character that I did not immediately get hooked on. With this one he has an Irish accent and I could listen to it all day. I both loved and hated when he was portraying Nora's dad because he somehow changed his tone to make me despise the character...lol!

Both of them were phenomenal as Brendan and Nora.

After two amazing thrill rides with books 1-2, I immediately picked up this audiobook to continue the adventures of the Quinn boys! This was such a disappointment. I didn’t connect with Nora and she was characterized as a whiny, self centered woman who came off as more of a teenager than Piper, who was a teen in her book with Sean!! I understand Nora’s dad Jordan the Warden was overprotective, however her woe is me attitude began to grate on me and I lost sympathy for her. On the flipside, the character development of Brendan was eye opening - just as it is with each and every Quinn brother during their book. He clearly fulfills an important role within their family and takes his position serious and owns it, but under his tough guy exterior, he has a deep emotional core. He and Bryan are the funny guys in earlier books although much of this humor wasn’t shown in Dublin Brute.

Part of my disappointment with this book was the narration. Neither narrator personified the main characters well and this really hurt my reception of the storyline. After choosing narrators who embodied the FMC/MMC in books 1-2, this was a shock to hear such a mismatched voice/character combination.

**Audio Review**
Brendan and Nora are a great addition to the Quinn family saga. This book was a bit less spicy than Dublin Devil, and focused more on the relationship between Brendan and Nora, as well as the business side of the Dublin mafia’s dealings.

Though Brendan fills the role of mafia enforcer within his family, and has a penchant for cage fighting, he’s incredibly protective of Nora. At least some of that stems from their first meeting, when he saves her from a dangerous situation. I liked that he helped her to realize her worth and spread her wings.

Nora grew up sheltered by her father, and finds herself deep in the world of the Irish mafia when she lands in the hands of Brendan Quinn. Her character shows a lot of growth throughout, but her immaturity at age 26 can feel frustrating. Meeting Brendan and being exposed to his way of life helps Nora to open herself up to the world outside of her father’s protective bubble.

Melissa is a fairly new narrator to me, but she did an exceptional job with this story. She hit the right notes with the variety of emotions that Nora went through, and she absolutely rocked the variety of accents that are present in the story.
Sean did well with the Irish accent, and did a good job of maintaining it, as well as a few of the regional accents. The duet narration style only enhanced the experience.

Review: This was my first read or listen to Jenn Madore and Caroline Mac but 𝕯𝖚𝖇𝖑𝖎𝖓 𝕭𝖗𝖚𝖙𝖊 instantly had me sucked in. Brendan Quinn and Nora Kelly were not a sweet romance but I preferred them that way. Hearing the way their voices were brought to life by Melissa Maybeck and Sean Masters gave me chills at times since you could just feel the tension and hate at first. And when it slowly began to become lust and love I about fell over!

Melissa and Sean were a great duo in this book and I enjoyed the way they bonded tension off one another but also somehow knew when to dial it back and let emotions (reluctantly) come through. 𝕯𝖚𝖇𝖑𝖎𝖓 𝕭𝖗𝖚𝖙𝖊 was a fast listen to for me but one that was hard to pause. The plot and the characters all had so much going on that listening to it in audiobook form truly brought the scenes to life in my ears and mind. This was a new mafia author duo for me and I will be back for more!

Rating: 4/5; 𝕯𝖚𝖇𝖑𝖎𝖓 𝕭𝖗𝖚𝖙𝖊 was a dark, hate to love mafia romance that was hard to put down!

Jordan Kelly is trying to navigate her father’s strict Europol rules and the dangers of organized crime, but Brendan Quinn—the infamous Dublin Brute—is a force she can’t escape. He’s violent, feared, and the embodiment of danger…yet he also possesses a hidden tenderness that makes him utterly irresistible. As their worlds collide, enemies become something far more complicated, dangerous, and deeply passionate.

The story balances action, emotional intensity, and steam in a way that keeps you glued to the pages.

Audio narration was incredible. Melissa Maybeck gave Jordan so much depth and fire, while Sean Masters’ Brendan was the perfect mix of danger, charm, and vulnerability—his Irish brogue making every line swoon-worthy. Together, they made this story come alive in a way that’s impossible to forget.

Devil Brute is dark, thrilling, and deeply addictive. Can't wait for Bryan's story!!

Nora hates Brendan Quinn. He's half of the Dublin Brute/Dublin Beast enforcer twins and is suspected of violent crimes. Nora's father has a position in Europol and background checks her friends. But when her father heads up a new task force in Ireland, Nora is now in Brendan's orbit. The more time she spends with him the more she sees him behind the facade.

I've been enjoying every book in this series. The characters were interesting. Nora was shielded from a life of crime because of her father. So her world changes when she meets Brendan. She didn't know about Brendan's family being part of the mafia, which in turn allowed Nora to fall for him without knowing his background beforehand. Brendan like his brothers was obsessed, protective, sweet and very caring towards Nora. I loved their dynamic.

As for the audiobook narration, it's amazing! Performed in duet by Melissa Maybeck and Sean Masters. These two did a wonderful job! Melissa is a new to me narrator. I loved her range in tones. She does a great Irish accent. She conveyed Nora with a soft, gentle tone. Sean's Irish accent is amazing! He had that Irish brogue down. He brought out so much emotion in his expressive tones adding another layer to Brendan. He also exuded Brendan's alpha dominance. Together Melissa and Sean give a captivating performance you don't want to miss!!

Audiobook coming soon!

Dublin Brute is book 3 in the Emerald Isle Mafia series by Jenn Madore and Carolina Mac, and this time we follow Brendan Quinn, the enforcer for the Quinn mafia and one half of the dangerous twin duo.

The story kicks off with Brendan saving Nora during a shooting, and from there, it’s nonstop action and chemistry. Their connection is instant and intense, but things get even more complicated when it’s revealed that Nora’s father is leading the task force trying to bring down Dublin’s criminal underworld. Despite the danger and chaos, their bond never wavers.

The audiobook absolutely elevated the experience. Sean Masters was fantastic, this was my first time hearing him with an Irish accent, and he nailed it. Melissa Mayback was also a standout; her performance was strong and emotionally on point. The duet narration made every moment feel even more immersive.

Fast-paced, intense, and packed with tension — this one’s a must if you love mafia romance!

Dublin Brute is the third book in the Emerald Isle Mafia series. Brendan Quinn is known as the Dublin Brute. He is the Quinn family enforcer, alongside his twin brother. Nora is a 26 year old. Her father is very overprotective since her mother’s death. She runs into Brendan when the pub is under attack. He grabs her and shields her with his body. Brendan notices Nora as soon as she walked into the pub. He had never seen a more beautiful woman than her. After he saves her at the pub he is determined to make Nora his girl. If it was up to Brendan she already would be. Just like the other Quinn brothers, Brendan and Nora are from conflicting lives.

Melissa Maybeck and Sean Masters did a fantastic job narrating this book in duet style narration. Both did an incredible job with the accents. Melissa is a new narrator to me and I can’t wait to hear more from her. I love Sean, but was completely blown away with his Irish accent.

*ALC review* This was my 1st story by Jenn Madore and Carolina Mac, and overall, I thought it was an okay story. This was clearly part of an interconnected series, but it could absolutely be read as a standalone and not feel too out of place. Brendan and Nora definitely did not have a conventional meeting, but I loved every aspect of the "he falls first" trope that was happening. I appreciated the drama surrounding the issues with the rivals to the Quinn family, but I also felt like there was some buildup without the gratifying payoff in the end. The ending almost felt rushed through, which made it a little hard for me to feel totally satisfied in the end. Melissa Maybeck was a new to me narrator, and I really enjoyed her portrayal of Nora. Sean Masters once again proved why he is creeping to the top of my favorite male narrator list, bringing subtle differences to each character and making me, at times, forget it was one narrator!

This is the 3rd book in the Emerald Isle Mafia Series and I highly recommend reading the series in order because there is a continuity to the series that is best enjoyed in order. Book 3 is about Brendan and Nora and their instant chemistry amid very challenging circumstances. I loved how Brendon fell hard for Nora and how Nora stood up to her father throughout the book. The audiobook was recorded in duet style with the very talented Sean Masters and Melissa Maybeck. They did a great job expressing the growing love between Brendan and Nora and the tension between Brendon’s family responsibilities and Nora’s new role in his life. I’m thoroughly enjoying this series and I love how all the brothers are in each book. 4 stars for a great mafia romance.

Dublin Brute is the third installment in the Emerald Isle Mafia Series, and this one packs a punch—both in and out of the cage.

This story was gripping from the start, but listening to it brought a whole new level of depth. Sean Masters delivers a standout performance—his deep, gravelly voice and authentic Irish lilt made Brendan feel real. And Melissa Maybeck, who was new to me, was absolutely perfect as Nora. The chemistry between their voices, the emotion, the grit—they brought Brendan and Nora to life in a way that kept me hooked.

If you’re into Irish mafia romance with high stakes, forbidden love, and unforgettable narration, you’ll want this one on your radar.

🎧 I listened to the audio version and really enjoyed the overall experience. Sean Masters always brings the heat 🤌🏻 and his performance definitely elevated the story.

The MMC and FMC had surprisingly sweet chemistry for a dark mafia romance—I loved their moments together. The plot tied in nicely with books 1 and 2, so getting glimpses of familiar faces was a fun bonus. It wrapped up some ongoing threads without feeling too rushed.

It didn’t blow me away, but it was a solid read with a few swoony scenes, a little danger, and just enough spice to keep things interesting.

"Dublin Brute" brings us back into the world of the Irish mafia and the Quinn family. Brendan and Nora, played by Melissa Maybeck and Sean Masters, are really good together 🖤 their chemistry is 🤌🏻 but their loyalty to each other is #goals .

The story has plenty of twists that kept me on my toes, making it hard to press pause!

What I love most about the Quinn brothers is how they have that mix of good and bad 😍🥵

If you love a bad boy with a heart of gold who will do anything for his person then you definitely need to listen to Brenny & Nora’s story:)

I’m so addicted to this series . Throughout the series I was eager to learn about the twins !

This book blew my expectations out of the water ! I loved Brenden’s story. I was so sucked in from the very beginning and this ride was so worth the wait !

Thrilling , spicy, some moments had me holding my breath.

Sean Masters does it again with another brilliant performance. He is easily becoming one of my favorites to listen too.

Onto book three and I’m stilling obsessing over this series!
Brendan Quinn becomes the hero we all love one night when a meet up goes wrong and he knocks the unknowing Nora Kelly to the ground to save her from stray gunfire. The not so meet cute becomes the catalyst to a whirlwind romance that has these two head over heels for each other.

Melissa Maybeck brings Nora to life with the quick wit and intelligence she deserves, while @seanmastersaudio provides the tough exterior, but tender and gentle just for her sides of Brendan.

I’d like to preface this by saying I absolutely loved the first two books in this series. But this story was not my favorite. The plot was all over their place. You mean to tell me her mother’s death wasn’t what she thought it was. So instead of having the father and boyfriend working together. You just end One? No questions about it. Nothing after it happens. There was no deep conversation between father and daughter. The ending was god-awful. There’s so much that could’ve happened that would’ve made the story bad ass. And it fell completely flat.

Another good addition to this series! The storyline between these two characters while tying to the Quinn family mafia was a nice spin, it added great drama to the story and the reason for the two characters to not be together. The narrator’s for this audiobook did such an awesome job, especially the spicy scenes 🔥🌶️. This wasn’t a super spicy story by any means, it was quality when it happened within the story though!!

I need this Dublin Brute

Brendan is perfection and heat! A man with a fiery temper and a strong potential for violence but also passionate, possessive, gentle and kind. His adoration and love for Nora is consuming and seeing the teddy bear he is with her makes for a wonderful read. I've been reading all of the books about the Quinn brothers and enjoy the male perspective found in them. Starting the next one now and know I will miss these men when I complete the series!

Better ending on this book which was appreciated it actually connected properly for once rather than skipping months but feel for poor nora though, but seems the quinn brothers are finally getting what they deserve which nice to see. Hopefully more secrets get revealed in book 4. These make for nice little basic power reads to chill out to. Shame the audio isnt full cast though but they’re relatively well done for duets.

The two sides of the story was what kept me reading!

Nora’s dad being controlling and not wanting to see her grow. Brendan was trying for her to come out of shell and show her what she could be.

Their relationship going back and forth on if they could or not be together.

I really liked their first time was after months of yearning and they both just went head first into it.

She wants to protect Brendan and his family from her family Siri interesting
