Latigo's Chance has it all. It is action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It seems like there are more bad guys than the good. It puts Latigo to the test. All he really wants is to settle down and raise a family, but is that possible considering all that he faces. It all starts to come together when Latigo has the help of a few friends and some of the miners who were robbed. Second book in the series, looking forward to the third.
Latigo and Joanna are settled in Silverton and life is good. Lat goes to buy a ranch and finds out the couple is being forced out by someone who wants the property for other reasons. He bought it just in time, but now he has to deal with thugs and thieves, which appears to be one of his favorite things to do. Silverton is being taken over and miners are having ore stolen. Excellent book!
Latigo, Holt, and Sarge have to save Silverton from a greedy, land grabbing, gold stealing, gang leader. The miners help and recover much of the gold that was stolen from them. Latigo buys a ranch, gets shot, and asks Joanna to marry him. On to book three!
I like the character Latigo. He is a laid back big guy and does not seem to be in a hurry. Story has a reasonable plot and there is a great scattering of oddball characters for a western. It was an easy read and not stretched too long.
