When I was eighteen, the fae stepped out of myth and legend and into our world, turning everything we thought we knew on its head.
But that wasn’t the biggest shock.
Days later, the boy who was my closest friend—the boy I’d slowly fallen in love with—told me he was one of them.
And then he left without a trace.
Five years later, I’m barely holding everything together, my picture-perfect facade hiding the almost everything in my life is dictated by my wealthy, controlling father.
And then I discover Him. Illiam. He’s alive. A member of the elite personal guard for the crown prince of the Autumn Court.
The fae royals rarely travel into our world, but that’s about to change. To cement ties between the human and fae realms, the prince will choose a human woman to be his wife. They’ve turned it into a ridiculous televised reality show, The Princess Game.
And I think it may be my only chance to get close to Illiam and find out why he left me five years ago.
So I enter the game. I plan to confront him with all the anger and bitterness that’s been festering inside me since he disappeared. I’ll show him the sophisticated, glamorous woman I’ve become. Show him exactly what he gave up when he abandoned me without a word.
But I’m about to discover something else: my heart still longs for him.
And maybe … he feels the same way about me.

Second chance Spicy but sweet A companion story in an existing fantasy world Focus on the relationship, not the world
Hey, I'm Lyra! Lover of both fantasy and romance. I spend most of my time in magical worlds (in my imagination, if not physically!) crafting memorable characters, fantastical magic, plot twists, and happy endings, and throwing in a sprinkling of steamy spice.
My favorite kind of fantasy world is the type where a magical realm exists alongside the modern one we know and live in. Because that means that at any moment, I just might walk into it myself ;-)

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 & 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: I didn’t realize how much I missed this world until I started reading Lina’s novella! After finishing The Princess Game, I wanted more of Lina’s story, and I love that the author gave Lina her own book! The author’s writing is outstanding - she knows how to write in a way that her readers are completely consumed by her words.
It was mainly lighthearted, but some past and current trauma was mentioned which gave the story depth. I couldn’t stop reading, and I easily finished it within a day. The only downfall was it left me wanting more of this world! 🥲 I’m looking forward to whatever Lyra writes next!

Thank you, Lyra Vincent, for providing me an eARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Oooh such a beautiful addition to the Princess Game!!!
Reading Lina's and Illiam's story was an absolutely wholesome and cutesy opportunity. I always loved Lina in the Princess Game and now I love her even more! She is such a strong woman who has endured so much!!
I also didn't realise how much I have missed the Princess Game, and feel like a reread is coming my way in the future (it's a comfort book of mine at this point!). This little novella will most definitely also make it onto my shelf as a shelf trophy!!
That being said, I'd also like to thank Lyra Vincent for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!! I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for there to be more in the realm of the Princess Game!!
The story between Lina and Iliam was amazing, there chemistry was cute. I hoped for a more detailed ending of how they are going to do the future together but maybe we see that in a different book.
cute novella featuring Lina from the princess game… I liked how their story was intertwined with the last book but not a lot of repeat scenes…overall 3/5… hoping for more from her and Illiam in the future!
