I’m really digging this series. The first part (books 1-3) felt a little juvenile in the writing…but I think with this book she’s really hit her stride. I’m ready for the next book!

K. A. Riley is a newer to me author recently found through the Thrall series and she’s Canadian so that’s a plus in my book!

I’ve been hooked on this series since the first book Thrall and I have not been able to get enough!

Since the announcement of Soleia being Shara’s sister in the previous book and that she’s still alive I’ve been dying for her story! I also love the fact it was loosely based on the novel by Jane Eyre!

I was hooked on Soleia and Bastien’s story and kept flipping the pages to figure out what was happening next!

I’ll be (im)patiently waiting for the next book!

Jane Eyre Life

In the beginning of this book the author quotes Bronte's Jane Eyre. This quote: “I am no bird and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” There are many of us in the US currently who need to fight for those words. Life right now feels like a Dystopian novel, we need to stay strong and fight. Thank you to the Author for reminding me of that.

The best of the Entire Series

This book makes all of the other books pale in comparison. This storyline blows the first books out of the water. The characters are just fascinating. I hope the author goes forward with alot more books about them. I am so glad I read it. Cannot wait until May 2025 to get my hands on the next one, I'm absolutely on a mission now to finish this series !!!!!!!

I almost quit this book because there was just too much repetition... I want you... I don't want you... Ugh! Up until 70% of the story it was like the author was trying to make this a rival relationship like Violet and Xaden but not nearly as good... not even close. It was so disappointing because I loved the first three books and this author is one of my favorites. However at the 3/4 mark it came back with a vengeance and I hope it continues into the next book.

This one was pretty good. New people introduced but still little glimpses of Shara and Thorne, which was fun.

Potential

Potential. It’s what the author talks about the humans with no power. It is also this series. The storyline is great and has so much potential. All that is needed is to lose the love scenes. Or at least scale them way back for a broader audience. Love these books and want to see them in movies (although I have to admit it will take some fantastic talent to explain/feature the MOD part). Just a thought… If you are of age, I recommend this series.

This was so good! It follows Soleia, Shara's sister and is loosely based on Jane Eyre. The tension between Soleia and Sebastian is *chef's kiss*, I just love the world it's set in and I can't wait to read more! Shara's guest appearance was also very much appreciated! <3

This story picks up in the same world with a new heroine. There was something about this frozen landscape setting that really appealed to me. The sexual tension was on point. Characters to get behind. A forbidden love that could destroy the world!

Typically I don’t like when authors continue to write books on a world after the original characters story concludes. This book however defied all my expectations and ended up loving this book arguably more than the first story arc. The writing has improved ten fold this this book and I felt that K A Riley was settling into her own on the adult dystopian market.
