Ever since her childhood arrival in the land known as the Peaks, Soleia has been raised by a cruel couple called the Hursts—with a son who’s even crueler than they are.
When she encounters a thief in the Hursts’ cellar one awful day, a terrible truth rears its head and Soleia quickly realizes she has no choice but to escape the family that has treated her so badly over the years.
Her only options are to go into hiding or turn herself in and suffer a wretched fate. She chooses to run, leaving her life behind to find a job in a remote, stately home in the mountains, owned by a powerful, mysterious man named Sebastian Maddox.
Only when she meets him face to face does she realize the horrifying truth.
Over the days and weeks, Soleia must contend with fact that she now lives under the same roof as her greatest enemy…but he may well prove her greatest protector.
Loosely based on the novel Jane Eyre, Bound begins the next story arc of the exciting Thrall series!
K. A. Riley is a writer of speculative and science fiction, dedicated to creating worlds just different enough from our own to be entertaining, intriguing and a little frightening all at once. For Riley, writing isn't a job. It's a laboratory where readers can wander into a land of ideas; it's a playground where they can scamper around, giggling, gasping, and freaking out to their hearts' content.
Riley is the top-secret pen-name of a NYT and USA Today best-selling author.
I’m really digging this series. The first part (books 1-3) felt a little juvenile in the writing…but I think with this book she’s really hit her stride. I’m ready for the next book!
K. A. Riley is a newer to me author recently found through the Thrall series and she’s Canadian so that’s a plus in my book!
I’ve been hooked on this series since the first book Thrall and I have not been able to get enough!
Since the announcement of Soleia being Shara’s sister in the previous book and that she’s still alive I’ve been dying for her story! I also love the fact it was loosely based on the novel by Jane Eyre!
I was hooked on Soleia and Bastien’s story and kept flipping the pages to figure out what was happening next!
In the beginning of this book the author quotes Bronte's Jane Eyre. This quote: “I am no bird and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” There are many of us in the US currently who need to fight for those words. Life right now feels like a Dystopian novel, we need to stay strong and fight. Thank you to the Author for reminding me of that.
This book makes all of the other books pale in comparison. This storyline blows the first books out of the water. The characters are just fascinating. I hope the author goes forward with alot more books about them. I am so glad I read it. Cannot wait until May 2025 to get my hands on the next one, I'm absolutely on a mission now to finish this series !!!!!!!
I almost quit this book because there was just too much repetition... I want you... I don't want you... Ugh! Up until 70% of the story it was like the author was trying to make this a rival relationship like Violet and Xaden but not nearly as good... not even close. It was so disappointing because I loved the first three books and this author is one of my favorites. However at the 3/4 mark it came back with a vengeance and I hope it continues into the next book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Lost Sister 🗡️ This one was pretty good. New people introduced but still little glimpses of Shara and Thorne, which was fun. Soleia + Bastian Shipped off to a new land for protection at 6 years old, Soleia has dreamed of being reunited with her family. But first, she has to escape the cellar and survive being the hunted. But will her escape lead her right back into the hands of danger? Have you read this one yet? What did you think?
Potential. It’s what the author talks about the humans with no power. It is also this series. The storyline is great and has so much potential. All that is needed is to lose the love scenes. Or at least scale them way back for a broader audience. Love these books and want to see them in movies (although I have to admit it will take some fantastic talent to explain/feature the MOD part). Just a thought… If you are of age, I recommend this series.
This was so good! It follows Soleia, Shara's sister and is loosely based on Jane Eyre. The tension between Soleia and Sebastian is *chef's kiss*, I just love the world it's set in and I can't wait to read more! Shara's guest appearance was also very much appreciated! <3
