Fellow Western Readers, I have something new for you today: book one in the Card Jordan series.

Monty R. Garner's 'Card, Kill Them All!' marks the explosive debut of the Card Jordan series, a narrative that harkens back to the classic Western genre with a modern twist. Garner weaves a tale of vengeance and justice that is as timeless as the Old West itself. The story begins in 1875, with a sixteen-year-old Card Jordan returning from a hunting trip to the devastating scene of his family brutally murdered by a gang of outlaws. The words "CARD, KILL THEM ALL" etched next to his mother's body become the fuel for his transformation from a carefree boy to a vengeful man on a mission. Card's journey is one of heartache and determination as he dons his father's old Cavalry hat and sets out to track down the gang responsible for his family's demise.

Garner's narrative is rich with details of the era, from the dusty trails of north Texas to the lawless expanses of Indian Territory. Card's character is crafted with depth, evolving from a grief-stricken youth to a formidable gunfighter whose reputation precedes him. His quest for justice is fraught with challenges, from physical wounds to moral dilemmas, as he navigates a world where the line between right and wrong is as blurred as the horizon on the open plains. 'Card, Kill Them All!' is a gripping read that captures the essence of the Western spirit. Garner's storytelling is robust, filled with gunfights and barroom brawls that fans of the genre will relish. Yet, it's the emotional journey of Card Jordan, a boy forced to become a man in the harshest of circumstances, that truly sets this book apart. It's a story of loss, love, and the relentless pursuit of justice—a fitting tribute to the Westerns of yesteryear, with a protagonist who embodies the rugged individualism and honor of the classic heroes of the Wild West.

Young Card Jordan was coming home from a hunting trip and found his whole family murdered. He finds his mother in the dirt and a note on the dirt written in her blood, CARD, KILL THE ALL. This starts Card on a trip from boyhood into manhood. Card promises his family revenge so starts his trip. Her had passed five rough looking men near his home while returning from his hunting trip and would know them on the future. He sets off and this is the start of a book that is very hard to put down. It is interesting and full of action and feels like you are right there with him.
Along the way he meets a young girl and vows to himself he would return and marry her but not until all five members of the gand were dead. The story moves along at a good pace and is easy reading. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Kill Them All

I'm a fan of all Western books. They are my passion.
I couldn't put this one down. It was exciting from the very beginning. I loved watching Card go from a sixteen year old to a man, never changing his purpose of avenging his family's deaths, always by the law. His perseverance and unwavering dedication to his murdered family paid for his completion of the task of killing the men who caused their deaths.
With a happy ending and meeting the love of his life.
I look forward to the next book to continue the life of this rare hero.

One of the Better Westerns

I read lots of westerns, including quite a few from Wolfpack. Frankly, this one was in the top 25%. It had a few proofing errors, but not bad. Also, the author used the same name for a horse as he did one of the bad guys. He also used the surname Marshall even though there were several Marshalls along the way. Odd.

Ps. I’m pretty sure chalk is referring to choc beer. That would make sense for the region.

New author with potential.

Based on seventy years of reading Garner may develop into a good story teller. Needs to improve research. No .30-30 rifles in this era, rewards awful high as are meals and rooms. The kid is unbelievably fast and gets one and two shot kills. Good story line and characters. Keep at it Garner.

When 16yr old Card Jordon returns from a hunting trip, he finds his entire family murdered by a gang he saw on the trail a couple days earlier. Before she died, his mother as able to write in the sand, "Kill them all"! Attempting to accomplish that gets him shot to doll rags. The Marshall family, Jean and her Grandparents nurse him back to health.

Man on a mission

Card was like so many young men and women had to grow up before childhood was over, never having a chance to experience being a child. Truly enjoyed the writer thinking and research of how times were in early American, as courageous people plowing their way through unsettled land. Looking two book two.

Card fulfills his dying mothers last wish to kill the men who murdered her and her family. A really great book on how a young teenager has to become a man almost overnight.

IDK

Card is a great young character. Very lucky. By chapter 45 I was ready for things to wind up. 16 is young to be thinking of marriage and children when be didn't know his girl at all, except she was pretty. Card should have a !it more adventures in him before settling down.

good read

Entertaining rough and tumble old west action. This reminds me of Louis Lamour and the westerns I read in my youth. Highly recommend
