A Stranger Within by Jessica Lynn Sorensen 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟(4.5 rounded up) This is an exciting and suspenseful thriller story! Cassidy Miller wakes up outside and has no memory of who she is and what has happened to her. Lucky for her, she finds a friend, Caleb, and he tries to help her with her life and memories. This story is a fast and entertaining read and very well written.
This book is written from Cassidy’s perspective. There’s another book, A Stranger Within: Caleb’s Perspective. I’m excited to read that one too!
I am so glad I chose to read Cassidy's perspective. I absolutely loved this story on how her and Caleb met and the events that they went through together.
Very well written. My favorite part is chapter 16 where Cassidy really shows her grit and how capable she is. The twist in the story left me speechless. The author really kept my interest through the entire book.
Cassidy/Katie has amnesia and Caleb, the police officer who helps her remember, are both great characters who have suffered similar loss in their lives. With enough twists and turns to keep me happy I read this in one sitting. It’s 5 stars from me!

Cassidy's perspective - I just had to jump right into this book after reading Caleb's story because, yeah, I'm nosey and NEEDED to know!
If I thought his story was an emotional roller-coaster, I wasn't prepared for how her narrative affected me! I was feeling compassion, anger, shock, empathy, and sadness. So raw, I FELT it all. I also may or may not have cried at the end 🥹.
The story is cleverly woven with relatable characters, emotion, tension, and shock, I couldn't put it down! It certainly answered all my questions I had after reading Caleb's perspective.
I am looking forward to Book 2 in the Series. Thanks Jessica, your writing is sublime :)
If you have already read A Stranger Within- Caleb's perspective, and want more, give this a read. It filled in some blanks, and answered some questions about Cassidy. Of course there is some redundancy, as it's the same story, but from each persons perspective, but it is extremely well written, and provides enough new information, that it doesn't feel too similar. A must read, for fans of the Caleb Reed series.
I Loved Cassidy's perspective. any and all unanswered questions are within these pages. Being a stubborn person myself sometimes characters that have the same outlook make me so upset I just want them to speak up and say what's on their mind. Jessica's writing style is easy and flows with such grace. Short chapters and easily read within a day or two.
I am blown away!! I loved this book. Very fast paced read. Short chapters. A girl with amnesia trying to find out who she is! Very good writing and twists just kept coming. Can't wait to read Caleb's Perspective 🩷🩷🩷🩷 Love this Author
I was a little concerned that this was just going to be basically the same as Caleb's story, but it had so many details that were specific to Cassidy. I am so glad I read this one, too. Both are great books. Give them a read!
“The Stranger Within” was an entertaining read. A story about a woman that was found wondering after being abducted and had no recollection of how she got there or her own past. A attractive cop finds her and helps her find her way. Without giving the whole story away, readers will find a little romance, a lot of suspense, and the unveiling of an old crime between the pages of this short story. Recommended for readers that love these genres.
I read this book in one sitting. I simply couldn't put it down. The book starts with a girl without any memory of who she is. It also contains a love story mixed in with the mystery of her past. I highly recommend this book.
"A Stranger Within" captivated this reader from the beginning to shocking end.
The premise of a young woman waking up in an abandoned shed without remembering anything, not even her name, hooked me into reading Jessica Lynn's book in one sitting. Cassidy Miller's new reality includes a policeman, Caleb who helps her recover her identity. Cassidy's inner strength, guts, and perseverance get her there. The ending is masterful and well worth the journey.
I truly loved reading Lynn's book. Highest Recommendation.
I never saw that ending coming. Loved this novella. This book is a quick read, full of good suspense. The MMC keeps you wondering. The MFC is very strong and brave. The characters, the suspense, the end. If you like the books without all of the rif raf of unnecessary details and chapters full of stuff that could have been left out, this is the book for you. The author does well with only writing things you need to know for the actual story.
The cover caught my attention, the blurb urged me to open the book, then I’m thrown straight into the story with the pages turning full speed.
The author has a wonderful way of holding the reader’s attention, weaving her words so that we’re confused as to who Cassidy/Kate can trust. At one point, we’re not even sure if her rescuer is a goody or baddy.
I’m not going to say anymore in order not to spoil the story, but this book is definitely worth the read.
Very well written. Cassidy’s character was very interesting. I felt like I knew her. I will be reading A Stranger Within (Caleb’s perspective) and Whispering Rain. Highly recommend!
