A short book with not much substance. We're told that the H and the h are madly in love, but they only are together for a month before he disappears, she doesn't know his real name, she can't have known anything real about him or who he is and yet she acts like they were married. But for fiction say, let's pretend they were madly in love. The h is pregnant with the H's child to no one's great surprise since they never even discussed birth control or used condoms. So the h is told that the H died in combat and when it turns out he's actually alive, he just let's her go on thinking he's dead. He promised her he'd come back and then just leaves her there and never looks for her again, because going back would be "too hard" 🙄He's in security and he didn't research her or try to find anything about her, supposedly because he's so bent out of shape over his past. Meanwhile, she's been mourning him for 8 YEARS and this motherfucker can't be bothered to drop her a "Hey, I'm not dead, just an asshole!" email, assuming she just moved on. This is by far the biggest load of bullshit. If he loved her like she loves him, he'd have looked for her sometime before 8 years had passed. Period. Especially since after a month's fling, they are apparently ruined for anyone else ever again and don't get with anyone else for 8 years because of it, yet he won't even look her up on FB? Riiiiight. He's mentally and emotionally able to open up a VERY successful security agency which would be almost ENTIRELY focused on his past work as a seal, but he can't hop on a plane to Tijuana? Drunk las Vegas newly weds can even manage to jump on a plane to Tijuana! Then, even worse, when she finds him, this man lies lies lies like his pants are still on fire from the bomb he survived (Too soon?😅 )The all around stupidity of how long it takes for the h to figure out who he is despite him quoting verbatim phrases Liam told her, as well as he H avoiding telling her the truth at every opportunity, even lies to her before he has sex with her and tries to says he's going to replace Liam is just as insane as it is despicable. The only thing that even changes his mind isn't his love for her, it's the fact they have a kid! There's also zero grovel or grand gesture or anything resembling real remorse and yet she almost immediately forgives him because he went through a hard time for 8 months. After he promises to never leave again, he immediately throws himself recklessly into danger. Hard to buy this was a romance as the H didn't seem at all invested in the h while meanwhile, the h based her whole life around him. Writing wasn't great and it felt like while the author is certainly fluent in English, there are certain nuances that are missed, like calling it a "vagina" when they have sex. I get that's the proper term, but in the context of a sexy smut scene it sounds weird. Overall, just not at all worth the 230 some pages of story.
This story sounded so good. A good initial buildup but then— what the heck happened? She was lied to for 8 years!!! Grieved for 8 years!!!!! Raised a child alone for 8 years!!!!! And he is just like “sorry, l love you” and it’s over?!?!! What???? So disappointing.
This is my first book that I am reading by Gianna Evers. My broken billionaire ex seal. It was an amazing read. I loved the storyline between Carmen, Liam, Victor and Isabella. I highly recommend this book if you like spice, romance, drama and suspense. This book was so hard to put down.
Maybe it's just me, but this book dragged far too long. Same scenario over and over. Crying over MC death, denying MC is father, MC hiding his identity. This is about the first 6-7 chapters. I read the first 6 chapters and then the epilogue and never missed a thing.
I had a love affair with a Navy SEAL, he took my innocence and left me heartbroken and pregnant when he died in the line of duty.

This is a good book by Gianna. It had my emotions moving all over the place. The happiness, sadness, anger and more happiness.
Second Chance Pregnancy Navy Seal Boss/Employee
Liam/Victor is an ex Navy Seal that had given Carmen his code name of Liam. The day he was going to tell her his real name he was pulled to deployment. He never made it back to her and she was told that he had been killed. Carmen was devastated, she was so in love with Liam.
When Carmen sees Liam again he is using his real name of Victor. He acts like he doesn't know who she is. She is so torn up on the inside thinking that Victor looks like her Liam but doesn't act like him. Her draw to him is just as strong as it was to Liam. Her daughter looks just like her father Liam and she is confused by Victor also.
Will Victor tell Carmen that he is Liam? How will she react to the news? How will their daughter take the news that her father is still alive? Will they.get the second chance and start being a family? Let's finish reading to find out!
Carmen and Victor met years ago and fell in love. However, he didn't give her his real name because he was on a military mission. He always planned to come back for her, but he was hurt during his mission and just left her behind. Now years later Carmen is in New York and has a job with his company. At first she though he was her Liam but quickly dismisses it because she didn't think Liam would leave her behind. Its not long before things get complicated and the fallout from that mission continues to cause problems between them. Can she forgive his deception? Can they find a way to move forward?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The male character will have you mad at him half the time, but you'll be screaming her female lead just as much. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Carmen Rodriguez had moved to New York to give her daughter, Isabella, a chance to study at one of the best schools of ballet. She finally gets a good job as a receptionist at Blackshore Security. Her first day she introduced to the CEO Victor Anderson. But she is shocked to see he looks exactly like Isabella's father, Liam Walker. But he died on a SEAL mission eight years ago. The plot takes off from there to explain how he disappeared and how he is now a CEO with a different name. All he wants is Carmen, the girl he's always loved back again, but will she ever forgive him for not coming back for her? Added to the problem is that Carmen was pregnant when he left on his mission and has raised their daughter alone all those years. The way she discovered the truth, the betrayal she felt becomes a huge hurtle to overcome. This is a love story that was hard to find, but strong enough to endure. It was a great book.
Blackshore Security. 8 years of mourning. Mistrust Deception Sell out
I think I have given enough hints here. A love so strong never dies/died. The story of Carmen & Victor/Liam is beautiful. You will be transported from the past to present day.
A traitor in the midst only causes death and damage to who is left behind. A promise made 8 years ago is broken - why??
This will be answered within.
The title was definitely fitting. I really enjoyed reading about Carmem - Victor/Liam. It was refreshing and enlightening. If you enjoyed this read, you will also enjoy - Off Limits- bad Boy Boss. This wasn’t left on a cliffhanger 🙂
At first the writing is a bit stilted and I struggled to get into it, but once it took off, I was all in. The writing style became more comfortable and I settled in with a smooth transition. An original story where one man is known by two names as well as a code name. I loved the caring and eventually the smoothness of the interactions between Liam and Carmen. There was a lot of hurt, but was fortunately explained and the culprit caught. My only question now is why the culprit betrayed his team mates and for who? I must acknowledge the cover and creator for the image of Liam. He was the immediate attraction to give this author a try. His face mesmorises me, the perfect face. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Short & sweet but meh. Good base for a good read but everything seemed so rushed. Main characters fell in love so fast that it was hardly believable. When they met again 8 years later it was instant love again with more time spent on her internal struggles than actually developing the relationship. He was the boss & the story never got into that faux pas. She forgave him almost instantly. The threat was never really developed & never really had you on the edge of your seat with you unable to put the book down. There was a lot of background story you wanted to know but it never really went further. I finished but it got to the point you didn't really need to read to know what was going to happen next.
This is an okay read. Carmen meets Liam, a navy SEAL in her Dad’s bar in Mexico. After a mission goes bad he is reported to be dead, leaving Carmen to bring up her daughter alone. 8 years later she applies for a job in New York and her boss looks so much like her dead SEAL. I only gave it three stars as I felt the story would have been better if he had acknowledged her at the start. There was too much back and forth to be believable. Also the Cole interlude wasn’t really described fully.
Lots of angst and drama, as expected. This is a cute and semi sweet tale of a secret baby and the perils of war. It's a fun quick palette cleanser if you're in the mood. However, the title is ridiculous. Since when is New York City a small town, or Tijuana? Victor may be financially secure, but billionaire? These are just silly attention grabbers that serve no purpose. It is fiction, but the entire story line of a single mom coming to NYC without a pre established job is just over the top.
I would give this 5 stars, except for two things. 1) (spoiler) how can she be so dumb that she doesn't figure things out when he uses the same nickname and words of comfort? A doppelganger is one thing, but.... The same nickname? 2) how is she sending her daughter to a private school and expensive ballet lessons and living in NYC on a receptionist salary?
The writing was a bit amateurish, and the premise was difficult to believe. The story needed to be fleshed out, but I suspect that was beyond the author's writing capability to build the story. If you want a quick read with a nice resolution and don't really care about plot holes, I'm sure you'll like this book. I would not be interested in reading any additional books by this author.
I so enjoyed this book. Rising from the dead. Victor (Liam) was injured To raised to raise their child alone. and was a prisoner by enemy for month.by the time he exactly and recovered from his injuries, Years had passed. Carmen was told he was dead. She decided to relocate to NY so her child could have her dream.
First, how can a single mom afford a New York apartment on a receptionist salary, in addition to high price dance lessons for her daughter and numerous taxi rides? The premise sounded good but execution failed. Very juvenile. Victor's reason for staying away From Carmen didn't make any sense, nor did his reasoning for keeping his identity from her for so long after they ran into each other again.
I enjoyed reading about (Liam) Victor and Carmen. The story gives you a lot of emotions, sadness, heartbreak, happiness and anger. Can they get the HEA after 8 years of mourning or will it be too late to save their sizzling passion and love.

This is an emotional rollercoaster of a read. I enjoyed reading Liam/Victor and Carmen's story. Getting to watch them find their HEA was beautiful and heartfelt. Highly recommend reading and look forward to reading more from the author.

HOLY COW this romance book will have you literally on the edge of your couch the entire time you're reading it. From the characters Carmen and Victor to the suspense and uncertainty of what is going to happen for Carmen and her daughter Isabella. This has a shocking surprise just waiting to be revealed to you and the ending is AWESOME.
Emotional throughout, I perpetually had tears in my eyes. I absolutely loved this from cover to cover. I did notice a few errors here and there so it could use some proofreading and editing but overall its a good quick read that has all the feels.
I found the entire premise of the book totally unrealistic. I could have forgiven that. I couldn't forgive the one dimensional characters and the juvenile dialog. Not worth the 99 cents I paid
I don’t really care for men that are deceitful so this main male character had that against him from the get go. I loved our female lead character although I felt she forgave him too soon. Not enough groveling for the amount of heartache he brought into her life.
Wonderful, heartfelt story between Carmen and Liam\Victor. Loved the main characters song with daughter Isabelle. Lots of drama and plenty of action to keep reader interested.
This was an OK book. Short so there wasn't a lot of character development or build up, but it worked. The story was somewhat original although secret baby not so much. I enjoyed it, read it in one afternoon and would recommend it.
The writing was so terrible and juvenile I couldn’t even make through the first few chapters. The story may have been good, but there are too many great books out there to waste my time on something written so rudimentary.
The author did an excellent job keeping this reader engaged until the end. Love never dies and the dead don’t always stay that way. But the truth is told and forgiveness and trust can return
Carmen and Victor were made for each other and living with all the amazing adventures that were included in their story that began exceptionally great.
