Okay, what. I was expecting questions about the world to finally be answered, but I had to wait for the literal very last page to hear about what happened to everyone else and it was extremely unsatisfying. It was basically, HUH??? I had so many questions. Who are the Outsiders? Why did they separate from society? Because they wanted to be free? But then how did this society come to be? WHAT HAPPENED IN THE BIG WAR?? We only saw that there was a sickness and bombs and we don't know who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. How did we get from there to now? What's gonna happen to the Outsiders that still live now? What was even the point of there being Outsiders if you're never going to explain what they stand for and what they're trying to do? Why are they killing people randomly? What the heck do they even want? What is this flimsy world building with no explanation for literally anything???

And why did Six choose a guy she just met over a girl she's known all her life without even an explanation? Nottt a good look.

Fantastic

I know 3 stars is misleading. But hear me out, I don't feel like there was enough character development in book one. But the premise and follow through of the writing is what makes this book fantastic. I would recommend it for anyone over the age of 13 though.
