What happens when you accidentally fall for your swim teacher?

After accidentally almost drowning in the pool, I find myself being offered swimming lessons by the hottest lifeguard I’ve ever seen.

Seriously, Grey Millen could pass as a model.

Or at least some sort of celebrity.

When I take him up on his offer, it’s obvious the chemistry between the two of us is electric from the get-go. Grey’s patient and attractive and kind.

He’s under my skin, he’s in my system.

Except, there’s the minor issue of my rule of no dating. Plus, he’s my swim teacher…

When Grey and I both agree to a one-night stand, I’m sure this will be my way of getting over my simple sexual attraction to my swim teacher.

But is it?

For Grey it isn’t -- he wants more. But will he be able to persuade me to bend my own rules? To get me to open up and trust him?

Or will the secret Grey is keeping, drown our relationship before it’s even properly begun?

ARC review

I really liked this book.
I loved Grey, he was the sweetest thing, the way he loved Delilah was so good.
Delilah had some issues but she woudn't let them dictate her life anymore. She was done being afraid of opening her heart and trying something outside of her comfort zone. Being with Grey was changed everything and she knew it but she also knew it was time.
I liked them together, they were really cute

the dynamic between delilah and grey is so cute and it made me feel so fuckin giddy reading about their crush on one another and watching it develop into more!! (and can we talk about the MOUTH that grey has on him, like this golden retriever man really revealed himself in the bedroom 🤪)

I basically got like 2-3 pages in and I instantly had the feeling that this book is gonna be on my top favs this year.

Dang how right my feeling was!!

Delilah is already getting her feet into stepping over her biggest fear to learn how to swim in the first chapter. She likes to have it all under control and since her ex put a spell of doubt in her head, she wants to prove that she’s strong enough to work with herself to overcome that fear. It became clear of her reasons for being careful not easily letting new people through her guard and start relationships due to her past, which is why I admire her for taking gentle steps with Grey.

Grey jumps BAM to her rescue in the first chapter. I loved how that chapter already got me squealing and the tension simmering between the two! A quick grabber to get me really pulled into the DEPTHS of this story (see what I did there hehe 🌊)

I loved how their relationship started as a cute little first meet with him coming to help her by the pool, to offering swim lessons when he’s off duty as a lifeguard at the Leisure Centre. God they’re so cute it hurts!! It’s also so easy to love Grey. He’s so charming, sweet and has golden retriever energy written all over him, but with a kinky side! Little did I know about the filthy mouth sunshine boy had!! 🔥Their attraction to each other is magnetic and even though she set a boundary of no strings attached between them, HE FELL SO HARD HE GRABBED HER TO FALL WITH HIM. But when their pasts starts to unravel before them my little heart had a scare, but it also gave more to both of their character development. To not let any insecurities set boundaries and realize what love had actually become to mean to them (brb 😭😭)

Thank you so much @bookbabespr for the arc and @elleknoxauthor for writing this story that I couldn’t get enough of! So excited to read more about the Millen brothers in the series! 🤍

I was lucky enough to read this book before the official release and I absolutely loved it!!

If you love a dual pov, spicy, sports romance then this one is for you!! and need I say it is our first introduction to the Millen brothers… who doesn’t love a romance series based around brothers?! this one is based on Grey and Delilah but we do get some insight into his family.. I’m already anticipating book 2 to explore Hudson’s story!!

In this book our MMC is a swimming instructor and our FMC is a romance editor, he falls first, reverse grumpy/ sunshine, he reads her favourite romance books… need I go on, I love it!! but obviously there is more to the story, however I’m not one for giving away spoilers… if you’re looking for an easy reading, spicy, romance book, definitely give this one a go!!

Falling for your swim teacher who is very protective… you best believe I was hooked.

This was such an easy read and I haven’t read a sports romance based on swimming before. Also the fact he reads the books she has on her shelf had me smiling so hard.

The family element with this book also melted my heart. The smallest bit of found family always draws me in.

There wasn’t too much spice either so it doesn’t drift away from the storyline.

Thank you so much Book Babes PR for sending me this book to review 🤍

I have never read a swimming based romance book before, but this was perfect. Delilah and Grey were the perfect characters and had a lot of traits which I resonated with. I loved how they helped each other to grow and move forward. Will be on look out for a book 2 as this was such a beautiful universe, that I did not want to leave.

I was honoured to be given the opportunity of reading the free ARC of this book.
And since I had the honour of knowing Elle's work from before, I knew she would do a good job with her first ever published book. She did not disappoint.
"Swim to me" is a spicy swimmer sports romance that comes out on KU on September 19th so mark that date in your calendars, ladies, and be sure to get your hands on your copy as soon as it's released.

It has all the best tropes possible:

🦋DUAL POV
🦋FLIRTY BANTER
🦋HIDDEN IDENTITY
🦋OPEN DOOR SPICE
🦋REVERSE GRUMPY SUNSHINE
🦋SHE'S A ROMANCE BOOK EDITOR
🦋HE READS HER FAV ROMANCE BOOK AND RE ENACT
SPICY SCENES WITH HER

It's all you want and need in a romance novel, perfect for upcoming crisp autumn rainy afternoons when all you need is a good book to lose yourself in for a couple of hours - this is your book!

All I can say is that I read it in one sitting 😊

And the best thing is - it's book one in the Millen brother's series so you know you wanna get your start with this one. 🦋🥰

3.5 stars. I had hoped for more, more of what? I am not entirely sure, but I was not as captivated by the characters to where I was invested. This was still a good read, but not something I was necessarily put at the top of my list to refer to in the future.

I devoured this one as fast as a working mom with 2 small boys at home could! Loved Grey and how he was obsessed with Delilah from the first time he saw her. The trauma from both of them led to a great story line and their chemistry was 🔥 obsessed with the "one night stand" turned "two night stand"! I loved it and can't wait to continue the series!!

3.5 ⭐️

This was my first sport romance centred around swimming, and it was a nice change to the usual hockey romances that seem to be dominating the genre at the moment.

Their meet-cute was adorable, regardless of how predictable it was the minute Delilah entered the pool. This was a low-key forbidden romance as Grey became Delilah's swim teacher (although they never did a good job hiding it during their lessons, in my opinion). There wasn't too much drama, plenty of spice, which is to be expected in a new relationship, and there was a third act break-up, which I felt was justified. It also didn't drag on, which was an added bonus for me.

Throughout the book, we see how hard it is for Delilah to build trust after being in a toxic relationship. She is clearly fighting an internal battle as she tries to overcome her fear and anxiety whilst creating and breaking down boundaries she's comfortable with in a new relationship. My heart was breaking for her, and I was cheering for her the whole way through.

Grey is such a bubbly and bright personality, and he was definitely relentless in pursuing Delilah, but I don't think he ever came across as too pushy. He did well respecting her and giving her space to decide what was comfortable for her so she knew she was in control. Grey had his own issues to work through, but he seemed at peace with what had happened and was ready to give Delilah all of his attention.

I felt like I wanted more from them. They had some lovely moments together, but I guess I was hoping for more stolen moments. As i'd mentioned previously, they didn't do a great job hiding their current arrangement during her lessons. The stolen kisses and sneaking around are the best part of a forbidden romance, and I wish there was more of it.
I also feel as though there weren't a lot of side characters. The only companies the FMC and MMC had were their own siblings. I understand the author showcased the importance of family throughout the book, but I wish each MC had at least ONE work bestie that they could bounce off of.

This will probably be a minor thing to some, but it really started to grate on me early on. The number of times Delilah said Grey's name was infuriating. I understand the use of his name during some of their conversations, but she didn't need to say his name every single time she was speaking to him. We knew who she was talking to. We didn't need a constant reminder.

Thank you to bookbabesPR and the author for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was so grateful to given the opportunity to receive this book to review but all I can say is i absolutely loved it!!!

Please tell me why I now have a new book boyfriend!!!! GREY MILLEN you beautiful man! How can someone be this perfect! He screams golden retriever energy but with a kinky side and i absolutely fell in love!!

I loved both of the characters for this book. I took me a little bit to get into, mainly because the beginning was kinda confusing but soon as I got into it i absolutely loved it!!! Delilah is such a strong character, I loved reading about her character grown and understanding some of her past to explain why she reacts in certain ways (trying not to give any spoilers) but I definitely would have loved for the book to touch on mental health more. It felt like both characters grazed over experiencing this but it would have been nice for it to be displayed and acknowledged more.

I loved the “he takes care of her moment” that whole scene was my favourite and i absolutely died reading it. Tbh pretty much the whole time I was squealing and rolling around my bed like a little girl who just found out her crush fancies her 😂.

The spice!!! Oh I loved every second of it!!! It was spicy from the get go and the tension the couple had was off the charts. I liked how the author built up to that first spicy scene but also it came across as something casual which I liked. Like why can’t people sleep together with no strings attached and not be judged for it. More power to ya!

Grey is just an all around beautiful man. I had a moment where I was like Mehh I think Delilah’s overreacting to someone but I think that was also because were weren’t really shown the number her past did on her. I think if it touched on that a little more then I would have been a bit more sympathetic 🙈.

Overall I loved it and I cannot wait for the next book to come out!

Delilah, a 25 year old woman in the early stages of her career in publishing, loves to be in control of every aspect of her life. So when a date makes fun of her for not being able to swim, what does she do but try to swim, with disastrous results. However, she’s pulled from the water by the hottest lifeguard she’s ever seen, who patches her up and hands her a flyer and encourages her to learn to swim. With the swim coach being him and he’s scrawled his personal mobile number on the flyer. Not being one to relinquish control of anything, Delilah is reluctant to book the lessons until her sister forces her into them and into the unknown.

Grey, a 29 year old ex-professional swimmer is now relegated to being a lifeguard and swim coach at a local community centre in London. After saving a gorgeous girl from near drowning and starting to give her swim lessons, Grey starts to fall head over heels for Delilah. But he’s keeping a secret which could tear them apart and force Delilah to lose her trust in Grey. Should he tell her and possibly lose her? Or should he be selfish a bit longer and keep her all to himself?

Elle Knox’s romance novel, Swim To Me, is very well written with some great descriptions of the sights, smells and details around the main characters. The way she describes the surroundings makes you feel like you are right there next to the action and experiencing the story first hands. She has a way of pulling the reader into the story which I haven’t felt from a long time from a romance novel. With enough spice spattered through-out the novel, this book is perfect for anyone who loves romance, spice, with a hint of drama and a great, supportive book boyfriend.

I would have liked to see more of the relationship building with the side characters/family but Knox has left enough room and suspense for further books in the series to come and I look forward to reading those!

I love this, I'm screaming at this book.

Dahlia n grey yes please.
Dahlia goes to the pool to try and swim but drowns instead, grey helps her while falling for her.

He helps her swim ( I wish I could swim myself) but the tension between these 2. *Chefs kiss*
Dahlia and her friends goes out to drink, and of course she is thinking about grey who then turns up and the same bar (giving her the nickname gorgeous 😍) her friends leave her with grey.
She tells grey let's get out of here, they go back to her place. And she is like I want you, I need you out of my system so let's have a one night stand, he agrees but it's not out of their system yet so 2 day stand then. Yes please.
The spice 🌶🌶
She starts going out with him after everything with her ex, but truth comes out when grey tells her that he used to be a professional swimmer, that he couldn't just lie to her but (poor grey, didn't realise how much it would hurt Dahlia about knowing this)
Dahlia ignores Grey for a bit, till Grey comes to her house, n brings flowers, her book that he borrowed but instead the book was a letter. Confessing how much he is sorry and how bad he loves her.

She gives him a 2nd chance but then papers comes to the news about them as a fan decided to put it up once taken a photo. Dahlia didn't know what to do, but Grey did he knew what exactly to do and make it right.

But I did feel like it ended with a cliffhanger as it ended with that, then the ending part.
I need more me want me.

Yes I will be getting this book and yes I will be reading more by this author too.

Received as an ARC from Book Babes PR.

So let’s get this out of the way first. The reason it got 4 stars was because there were grammatical errors and spelling mistakes throughout. Just needs double checking before full release.
And also in the epilogue there’s the quote from 13 going on 30…but they got the words round the wrong way.
It’s ’thirty, flirty and thriving’ not flirty first.

And now on to the good stuff.

I’ve never read a book about a swimmer before. But this book was soo good!
Mr Grey Millen was a pure dreamboat 🥹🫠
He put his soul into winning over Delilah and helping her with her fear of being in the water.
Lust at first sight when he sees her for the first time getting into the pool where he works…..and then she nearly drowns as she thinks she can teach herself to swim 😂

There were some funny aspects to the story. But it was mainly a sweet romance about overcoming fears and learning to deal with not having to be in control of everything all the time.

Delilah seemed a bit whiny at times but overall I did enjoy her progress from start to finish.
They both had quite a high sex drive as well. Seemed like they were in the bedroom more times than not 🤣

Loved this story and was sad that it ended. Hopefully we get another story from this series as there’s a couple more Millen brothers that are single still 😉

OMG I loved this book. From the very first few pages I was hooked. I couldn’t put it down and ended up reading it all in one sitting. As the title suggests, this book is based around Delilah, who wants to learn to swim and Grey, who wants to teach her! Delilah’s first attempt at teaching herself to swim doesn’t go quite to plan and she almost drowns! Cue Grey, her hero lifeguard, who is more than happy to be of assistance. Together, their attraction is compelling, formidable and super spicy.
Elle Knox has a fantastic writing style and I found this book very easy to read and follow. It flowed from beginning to end. This has everything you could want from a sports romance novel. I would definitely recommend. Thank goodness this is only Book 1 of the series as I was totally left wanting more.

Tropes:
Sports romance
Open door spice
Forced proximity
Friends to lovers
Hidden identity
Dual pov
Workplace romance
He falls first
Reverse grumpy sunshine
Contemporary romance

Trigger warnings:
Explicit language
Explicit sex scenes
Brief mentions of previous fight against breast cancer (side character / off page)

Review for @bookbabespr

Delilah’s journey centres on self-discovery and redemption. The story skillfully navigates themes of resilience, personal growth, and the power of second chances. Delilah, as the protagonist, is deeply relatable—a young woman grappling with her past and searching for a fresh start. Her emotional arc is compelling, especially in her evolving relationship with Grey, a character whose quiet strength and support add depth to the narrative.

Grey is a highlight; his patience and steady encouragement offer a powerful contrast to Delilah’s inner turmoil. Their relationship is nuanced and avoids typical romantic clichés, making it feel real and earned. Knox’s ability to craft these complex dynamics is one of the novel’s strengths.

While the novel is immersive, it occasionally suffers from pacing issues, particularly in the middle sections. Some secondary characters could have been more fully developed to further enrich the narrative. Nevertheless, Swim to Me remains a heartfelt, inspiring, ✨spicy✨ read with Delilah and Grey’s journey at its core, perfect for readers who love stories about finding strength in vulnerability.

*Swim to Me* is an irresistibly sweet love story between Delilah and Grey, filled with swoon-worthy and steamy moments that will have you hooked from the start.

Delilah lives by a strict set of rules: no boyfriends, no dating, no falling in love. She believes keeping her heart protected and maintaining control over her life is the only way to avoid getting hurt. But everything changes when she meets Grey, a lifeguard and swim instructor who unexpectedly dives into her life—literally—when he rescues her from a near-drowning incident. Her carefully crafted walls start to crumble the moment Grey enters the picture.

Grey is instantly captivated by Delilah, but he soon discovers her self-imposed barriers when it comes to relationships. Despite her rules, fate seems determined to pull them together, and their one-night stand leaves them both wanting more. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and I couldn't help but feel giddy as they begin to realize their connection goes far beyond a fleeting moment.

I loved watching Delilah open up to Grey. Seeing her share her past and the reasons behind her reluctance to date was both heartfelt and rewarding. And when things inevitably go awry, the emotional fallout is painful, but Grey’s groveling is nothing short of heart-melting. He knows how to make amends in the sweetest way possible, and it made me root for them even harder.

The heat and desire between Grey and Delilah are off the charts, and their chemistry is electric. Grey’s obsession with her was heart pounding, and the spice in *Swim to Me* is generous and perfectly supported by their emotional connection. The supporting characters also add charm, particularly Delilah’s sister and Grey’s brothers, who are hilarious and endearing. Hudson, in particular, caught my attention, and I’m eagerly anticipating more of his story.

*Swim to Me* is a fantastic read with a lovable couple, plenty of spice, and a satisfying HEA. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

I knew from the first chapter that I was going to love this book and it would fast become a favourite… I wasn’t wrong! I ate this book up!

I’m a lover of a sports romance but hadn’t read a swimming based one before but I was not disappointed. It was such an easy read and really well written.

I was grinning and squealing to myself throughout and there were definite moments of kicking my legs too!!
Delilah and Grey are just so friggin cute!! She’s independent, hard working and loves to be in control of all aspects of her life due to past experiences. He’s the golden retriever of the book boyfriends with a protective Rottweiler side and a kinky filthy mouth to boot!
Their attraction to each other from the get go is utterly magnetic, powerful and damn hot!

The references to smut books and smut readers had me pumping my fists in the air!

An absolute must read for any romance/ sports romance fan, you will not regret it. I cannot wait to read more about the Millen Brothers and follow this series!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I liked the book but it fell a little short for me. Unfortunately I just couldn’t become emotionally involved with much of the storyline. I liked Greyand his family and I’m intrigued by his brothers. But the writing style is not to my taste and I just felt that the storyline was a bit unbelievable in my opinion (I’m aware I’m reading fiction but it’s part of the reason that I couldn’t become invested in the characters or storyline). I was a little frustrated with the fmc and felt that she overreacted a bit when she found out about Grey.

This book is about overcoming your fears and to allow yourself to push past your boundaries. To take a leap with the hope that someone will catch you.

This book is a standalone with a HEA and it left teasers for more books about Grey’s brothers.

Swim to Me by Elle Knox delivers an enjoyable romance with moments of emotional depth and engaging character arcs. The chemistry between the main characters is evident, and their personal journeys give the story added weight. Knox’s writing style flows smoothly, making it easy to get swept up in the narrative.

However, there are areas where the story could have been stronger. Some plot developments felt a bit predictable, and certain emotional beats could have packed more impact if given more space to develop. The pacing was mostly steady, but a few scenes dragged while others resolved a bit too quickly.

Overall, Swim to Me is a charming read with heartwarming moments and solid characters. It may not completely stand out in the crowded romance genre, but it delivers enough sweetness and drama to keep readers invested.

I was privileged to read this books as an ARC and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Due to being badly hurt in her past by two men she should have been able to trust Delilah does not do relationships. But when she decides to prove to herself she can swim and almost drowns, she meets a man who could change all of that.

This book is a sports romance with him being her swimming teacher and is pretty spicy. I very quickly grew to love Delilah and Grey and really enjoyed reading their story.

I am so glad it is only part 1 of the series as I definately want to hear what happens next to the Millen Brothers.

GAH!

I bloody loved this book! I was lucky enough to read it as an ARC and I’m so so glad I signed up for it!

Grey the perfect golden retriever MMC.
Delilah the untrusting FMC.

She doesn’t like to open up to people, to get close to people but after meeting Grey when he literally saved her from drowning. I loved how he knew what she wanted, and never pushed her or pressured her, he let Delilah fall for him all on her own!

I totally get why Delilah was so closed off from having any sort of relationship, but I like how effortlessly Grey breaks down all those walls.

They are perfect!

I’m excited to see more of the rest of the Millen brothers!

Sports romance, he falls first, he’s obsessed with her, protective but not possessive. The MMC Grey is super sweet and the type of guy you want to fall for and bring home to meet the parents. After finding himself in a tragic accident that ruins his dream, he still finds a way to stay connected to it by becoming a life guard and this doesn’t turn him sour. Delilah the FMC is a talented, strong willed independent woman, who gave up on love due to her ex boyfriend but then meets Grey trying to overcome one of her fears. Swimming is not for the faintest of Hearts and neither is Grey, he knew he wanted Delilah and he made sure to lock it down. Super sweet with a dash of spice, loved this one!

Was very lucky to receive an ARC of this book! Saw this on Instagram was so excited about swimmer romance and massive congratulations to Elle on her debut novel 👏🏻

Took a bit of time to think on my rating and I think I’m sitting on a 3.25⭐️ I loved the start and the build up of Delilah and Grey’s relationship however I felt as if the third act conflict was a bit predictable and it kinda felt a bit insta-love which I don’t always minds but I didn’t gel with these two.

Am interested in reading the following books in this series to see what happens to rest of the Millen Brothers. Congrats again to Elle Knox and her team 🫶🏻🩵

I honestly was so excited to read this when I was given the opportunity to arc read. And boy oh boy, it did not disappoint. This was so beautifully written. Perfect mix of tropes for the storyline and the spice for this book personally, was spot on.
Greys and Delilah story was amazing.
The growth and over coming past events, the letting go of control and the HE FALLS FIRST…and then the hidden identity to top it all off! Myyyyyy god I was in the floor🫠🤤
Thank you so much to Elle and bookbabes for giving me the chance to read this early, this has become one of my most favourite reads of this year. And I can’t wait to follow this journey of what else Elle writes🫶🏻

Grey and Delilah a match made in heaven, or should I say in the pool! When terrified Delilah trys to quell her fear and learn to swim she never in her wildest dreams thought she would plunge head over heels not only into the water but also in love with the very talented Grey Millen. Delilah doesn't know just how talented Grey really is though and how that talent may destroy the one thing that she has wanted for a long time, love.
A great story of love, achievement and trust with a generous measure of spice thrown into the mix, what more can you want! Glad to hear the story will continue and will definitely be watching out for the next book :)

I enjoyed this book so much. This was my first swim sport romances and it did not disappoint. The story between Grey and Delilah really pulls you in and having you not wanting to put the book down. There’s so much good tension between the two characters. You know they want each other and when they agree for that one night stand, ( which lets be honest its never just one night), things get spicy and the big drop we were waiting for happens. I highly recommend this book. It doesn’t not lag or fall flat. It keeps you invested until the very end.

4.75 ⭐️ omg this book had me hooked from the first page and i could not put it down!

i related to Delilah in such a person level now feel so connected to this character. she as so strong willed.

Grey was like a golden retriever and was the perfect other half for Delilah, he’s exactly what she needed.

The love he felt for her the moment her saw her, the way he always heard her out and let her take the lead for the whole relationship was amazing to see.

their connection was amazing!

this book was full of swoon worthy moments, angst, spicy scenes, and all around a good funny time.
