You can definitely see the author’s growth and maturity in her writing, not to say that the first two books were lacking—far from it. I enjoyed them both, but in this one, I appreciated how the drama and desperation were toned down compared to the previous books. The characters, even though younger than in #1 and #2, come across as more mature and composed. I absolutely love the dynamic between the two main characters; there’s so much love and care despite the presence of secrets. I’m really excited for book #4!
Everything is so well-written and flows beautifully. The descriptions are vivid and captivating, making it easy to get lost in the story. I especially love how fluid the writing feels, pulling you in effortlessly. It truly made my heart swell.

The drama was good. But I really hate the "hide the truth to protect her" trope.
It negates consent when they don't have full knowledge of everything.

Well it was my first time reading about werewolves outside of Wattpad💀 Also i used to read MM werewolf romance so not gonna lie it was a actually a new experience for me!
Well the story was captivating. I kept reading because I wanted to know and discover the secrets and all those mysteries. I'm giving it 3 starts for some reasons:
There were a LOT of miscommunication 😭 i was like guys come on! You are like fated mates or something!
Ace and Dorothy were besties for ages!!! And i mean they could communicate much more better!
Also there were times that i was like wtf?!💀 I mean before they officially wanted to be mate or something like that, when they were actually "besties" they used to sleep next to each other and Ace used to put hickies on her neck💀💀💀 i was like girl.... Aren't you suspicious of anything?!
Also the last chapter was too rushed and ended on a cliffhanger!!!!😭😭😭
So yeah... The spice was average i guess. There were fun moments and times that i was actually proud if FMC.
It was a good read in general. I don't regret it 🤭💕

I am utterly appalled that young girls are led to believe that it is romantic and desirable for a man to oppress, patronise and manipulate them.
I read the whole series because my niece is so enthralled and now believes it would be desirable to find such love.
Apart from that, the books are not really well written: The protagonists lack depth, the interactions are contrived to the point of being ridiculously surreal, the plot is superficial and sometimes contradictory, and there are a lot of copy-paste lines. And in terms of content, I was really annoyed more than once. This brainwashing crap turns my stomach!
I originally thought it was the debut work of a very young (and misguided) author - but I was very wrong. For an older woman to sell such irresponsible rubbish to young girls is completely out of order!!!

I totally understand the (teenage) desire or longing for the great ultimate love.... But please, please, if your boyfriend/husband is physically abusing you or mentally putting you down and constantly belittling you, there is no excuse, really no excuse at all. Please get help, because rest assured, you deserve 100% better than this to be happy.

I really like the storyline and the connection to Kidnapped by my Mate. However, there were a lot of continuity issues. (Spoiler Alert) if Grayson, who is having his own issues trying to find Belle, which limited his ability to help Ace? Then how did he help Ace 3 years earlier, find the warlock.
That put a block on Doe's mind? The timeline doesn't work. Nor does it work with Ace's mother showing up in Colorado. As a wolf, the night before, she died in ontario, canada in the morning. She would have had to take a plane or materialize like a fairy. I'm also wondering why Ace's parents would take him on a cruise full of people at the age of six when he was having trouble controlling his wolf?

It feels more like a first draft that needs a little bit more editing. It has the potential to be an epic story. That being said, I did read all four books multiple times. It totally captivated me. In the kidnapped, by the mate series, Belles stepfather gets murdered, supposedly by Graysons wolves, but it feels unfinished. And it seems like that could be a more underlying plot through the whole series. Just saying. I keep hoping she'll rewrite it in the full on novel series and correct continuity issues.

OMG, The Alpha Doe is such a wild ride! It totally flips the usual werewolf romance trope—like, instead of the big, broody Alpha dude claiming his Luna, we get a badass rare female Alpha (aka the “Doe”). It’s giving girlboss but make it supernatural.

The tension? Off the charts. The romance? Chef’s kiss. And don’t even get me started on the pack drama—it had me speed-reading at 2 AM like my life depended on it. If you love strong female leads, fated mates, and a little bit of angst sprinkled in with all the supernatural chaos, you need to read this.

But if you’re not into werewolf politics and all the “he’s my mate, but we can’t be together” drama, it might not be for you. Personally? I ate it up. No crumbs.

I read the kidnapped by my mate first 2 books and I got hooked. I was unsure if I wanted to read the alphas doe after the prologue but decided to give it a try.

Boy am I glad I did! It was the perfect amount of spicy and had such a good plot to it! I read it on galatea and don't have a subscription so I couldn't read the epilogue which I almost bought a subscription just so I could read it!

Captivating story but without knowing what's in the epilogue, I found the story ended too soon. I was left with too many questions to feel satisfied at the end.

finishing this series helped answer the emptiness that I had after the first 2 books. I find this book series struggles to wrap up the books. It always feels a bit rushed in the last chapter and misses some plots that readers are dying to know more about.

I absolutely gobbled this up. There’s something about this universe that completely has me hooked.

Admittedly I read books 1&2 a while ago, but the character personalities and dynamics tend to be very similar to Belle and Grayson- I get that it is Alpha and Omega/Luna dynamics- but to see a little greater diversity in the personalities would be my only real request- maybe from another set of people in the same universe. But do I love Ace and Dorothy? Yes. Do I have it blocked out in my (work) calendar the release of the next part? Also yes.

If you liked 1&2, this will certainly itch that scratch- or should I say *lick*…

Ace & Doe - book 3 in the Kidnapped by My Mate series

So for all you werewolf lovers, this is a teen love story, and I absolutely loved it, it has a spice level of 🌶️🌶️ and weirdly enough the main action is in chapter 55 (iykyk) anyhow Doe and Ace met as kids and the bond instantly set but Doe is human and Ace is an Alpha, something happened to Doe she lost all her memories and Ace can’t tell her anything until she’s 18, so she knows nowt about wolves etc and every time someone talks about them she gets a migraine…the books end on a cliffhanger but the second book has just been released this week and finishes the story, I’m hoping I’ll love it as much as the this one!

The story was well done and believable, to a point. I liked the characters and thought the story had excellent suspense. There were some inconsistencies that were annoying. For example, Ace lives next door, but she needed to have someone drive her home? Then Ace drove over to wait outside her house, but he still lived next door. When Whalen shows up, and says how much an alpha would do for an omega, and then goes to negotiate instead of going “wolf” and saving her didn’t make sense at all. Ace not being able to call on his pack to save her while he was in Croatia? Also a bit unbelievable.

But, the story was still pretty good.

She did not just do that. She did not. What the hell happened. Omg okay. Really liked this book..definitely not as much as the first two, those were everything to me...but this...this is whatttttttt. Okay loooove ace...but did he really have to keep lying to her for 500 pages???? Omggg and we didn't even get a happy ending. She was scared of him in the end. SCARED of him...like nooo i just want you to be together and love each other and trust each other cmonnnnn...this is getting on my nerves...but love it tho.

This is one of my favorite shifter romances. It’s the first shifter romance I’ve read where they actually meet as kids and get to grow up together. Ace meets Doe when they are six and knows she’s his mate, but Doe doesn’t know that. She just knows they have a really strong friendship.

It was sweet to see how Ace held himself back and stayed just friends with her until she was ready. I loved that they got to grow up together and really know each other before dating. I can’t wait for book 2!

At first I wasn’t sure how this fit into Grayson and Belle’s story or if it was a spin off. You don’t find out the connection til towards the end of the book. Overall it was a good book, took a little bit to get into the thick of it though. The ending is truly a Cliff hanger and I can’t wait to read the next one.

A lot of these "mated" reads focus so heavily on that bond, it genuinely ruins the story. I conceptualised how it works, but the manipulation just annoys me especially as it happens in every book. I think I am also just tired of the weak female they try to pass off as strong because she's emotional and cares *eyes roll*...yet has zero physical strength.

I absolutely love this book. Annie Whipple is amazing. The Alpha's Doe is a great addition to the Kidnapped By My Mate Series. Ace stole my heart from the very beginning, and has kept. He is a wonderful, and Doe is just a great. I love them

I started reading this because I really enjoyed Belle and Greyson’s story but this a let down. Most of the book was about teenagers wanting to bone…the last chunk was good at building up the drama but I’m as confused as main character.

To witness the love story between Dorothy and Ace since they were young children has been a beautiful thing to exhibit throughout their unique love story. But things are not always easy. The drama is spot on as, of course, part 1 of The Alpha’s Doe ends on a crazy cliffhanger!

The FMC was so so for me. I didn’t like that it doesn’t explain why she has a lock on her mind and why she’s the only one in the dark about what goes on around her. Plus she’s kinda in an abusive relationship.
