Never Mate a S*x Demon

Rate this book
The door opened slowly, and leaning against the doorframe stood the man of my dreams.

People say things happen when you least expect them, and it's true. Because I certainly didn't expect to step up in a dream one night and meet Adrian, a hot-as-sin, charming, flirtatious stranger. His beauty is otherworldly, and his seduction flawless… for good reasons since he’s an incubus.

Since my dad’s death, leaving me alone on this planet, I’ve felt like I’m barely existing. But what if this sex demon is precisely what I need to mend my heart and get my life back on track? After all, the deal he’s offering me is quite he gets my energy, I get mind-shattering orgasms, with no strings attached and just a little smudge on my soul. I accept on two he’ll be my companion—and for one month only.

But as time goes by, what started as a casual fling turns into something so much deeper. Despite my best efforts, I find myself more and more drawn to Adrian every night. The secrets the demon is keeping from me only add to the lure of the deeply wounded being I can sometimes see under his carefully constructed mask of seduction. Now my life is a mess and my heart is in turmoil… It doesn’t help when I find out that my handsome colleague at work is crushing hard on me. And I can’t say I’m immune to Ethan’s charms, either.

As Adrian burrows his way into my life a little deeper each day, I can’t help but wonder if falling for a demon is really a good idea. Will I be enough to quench his never-ending hunger, or will we have to find some… unusual solution? One thing is certain, now that I’ve invited the supernatural into my life, my world will never be the same—for better and for worse.

Never Mate a S*x Demon is the first novel of a series of four books, and is destined for mature readers only, for there are many graphic scenes of intimacy, as well as some disturbing themes. Adrian is hot as hell, you might end up burned if you don’t check the triggers before reading. Oh, one last mind the cliff. You’ve been warned.

Wow. This book was not what I was expecting.
Fast burn, then it slows way down, then the plot picks up a bit before slowing down again, then right when it starts picking up again, it ends in a cliffhanger. The cliffhanger is not bad, but it does key the reader wanting to know what happens.
This book is MF between a human and an incubus, but is hinting at a future WC situation. It has a good deal of heat, at least toward the beginning.
If you like redeemable MMCs and watching the growth of the main characters, you might be interested in this one.

Sally is going through the motions in life. Her only reprieve are her vivid dreams where she feels wanted. after meeting Adrian in one of those dreams, Sally learns he is an incubus, feeding on her energy to sustain himself. Their chemistry is explosive, and Sally offers him a deal: to feed on her and be her companion for one month. Little does she know that once Adrian gets a taste of the real thing, he's not backing down without a fight.

This story had no right to be as riveting and addictive as It was! The incubus/human trope is new water for me, but man, did I love it. The paranormal elements were fantastic, with just enough realism to keep it from being over the top. Adrian is smoking, and despite his demonic nature, honestly cares for Sally. She's enamored with him, to the point she risks it all to help him. Their relationship started off rocky, but they're working on creating some balance. I was warned about the cliffhanger, but it still felt like it came out of nowhere. I don't know if I can wait until April for the next bit. This author is definitely on my radar now, and I look forward to more.

Never mate a s*x demon

This was a great paranormal romance. I really enjoyed the characters that were created. This was a different type of incubus that I had experienced before and it was really good. A lot of different emotions throughout the book.

Thoughts:
Adrian tries his best to be everything that Sally could want in a mate. For Sally, that means more than just a pretty package. Adrian, a Morally Grey Shadow Daddy, will not stop at anything to make Sally his and most of his ideas are HAWT! We also have Ethan, a sexy and interested colleague. Sally only starts to notice Ethan once she is together with her incubus.

Despite this title, this was more a love story than a smut book. Don’t get me wrong, it still has tons of spice and high heat- from very early in the story.

Sally, Adrian and Ethan were quite deep and nuanced characters. It was easy to empathize while reading as we read from all three points of view.

I loved all of the emotions that the characters experienced and the way auras could display those emotions. The author did not shy away from talking about the deep grief experienced by Sally, and her ongoing depression was very realistically handled.

This ends on a cliffhanger, so I’m waiting patiently for the next book in the series!

🛑Please read the author warnings as there are themes and events that could be triggering. I received an advance copy for free and am leaving a voluntary review.

This was such an incredible start to a new series. I was hooked the entire time I was reading and caught myself staying up way too late trying to continue on with the story. If you're a fan of fast burns, this one is pretty great getting right in there quickly. Granted, both Adrian and Sally both agree to this relationship to essentially use the other person, for their own reasons, so feelings weren't exactly on the table in the beginning. However, I really loved the development of their relationship. It wasn't perfect, but it was clear that both sides were trying. We got to see something that was supposed to be purely physical turn into something much more beautiful. And sure, Adrian may be a tad bit possessive, but that just made me like him more. Once that started you just knew he was going to fall for Sally.
What I found really interesting about this book was the reasoning behind the idea of forming the harem. We aren't at that point *yet*, but I'm sure most picked up this book for that specific trope. Normally in paranormal books it is common that the fmc is the one that needs the harem to be balanced or vice versa. Either she has all the power and needs the guys to balance her out or the guys powers are crazy and they need the fmc to stabilize them. What I liked about this book is that this wasn't the case. It was Adrian who needed the harem to get himself in check. I'm actually really excited to see how this all plays out as the series continues. Will the guys involved in the harem just be there for balance to help out or will feelings develop along the way pushing the relationship into a more poly situation? Will some be there just for Adrian and not Sally? Can't wait to find out!
The ending of this book was *chef’s kiss*. It literally had me cackling. I'm so excited for the next book to see how this all pans out. I think it will be super entertaining. Definitely take a chance on this book. So worth it.

Sally is busy grieving the loss of her father. She has taken on a small job at WE working the reception with her friend Elaine even though she is financially stable because of her inheritance, it gives her something to focus on. Ethan who works there, is always friendly towards her but he definitely would like to take things further. Sally is mutually attracted, but at the moment she is happy to keep it in the friend zone.

Sally starts having very vivid sex dreams, not knowing her dream state has lowered her defences with wanting to connect to someone, and has allowed a Incubus to enter them. The Incubus feeds off her sexual energy and Sally allows herself to be drawn into an understanding with him. She names him Adrian and he'll be her sexual partner and companion for the next 30 days.

Adrian finds he is taken with Sally, he wants to be around her more, she brings something out off him, feelings he has never had before, she is his and only his. The energy he feeds off her gives him the strength to do something that very rarely happens. Sally finds her feelings for Adrian are getting stronger but because who Adrian is, can it be more detrimental to her health? Can she be strong enough to let him leave or will this be a set back, another big loss in her life?

Both are dealing with these new feelings, can this 'strange' relationship' go forward? Has Adrian been truly honest with Sally to what will happen when the 30 days are up? But can he go through with it. This woman, has captivated, entranced him. He could never harm her, but can Sally see this? Is there a solution out there for them and will Sally go for it?

Loved this book, it goes through a rollercoaster of emotions. Through from grief to love. It is witty, I loved the characters and can't wait until the next book is publish to continue the story line.

I thought when I started this book it was gonna be a short steamy novella, but I was wrong. It's so much more. It's a full length 😏😏 hot as h€ll novel with a morally grey incubus who learns what it means to feel truly alive when he slips into the dreams of our FMC, who is struggling to cope with the loss of her last remaining parent. She has shut herself off from the world and from the chance at love or even lust. But when her demon appears in a dreamscape of her making, and him being the literal (not hu)man of her dreams, she strikes a bargain. 30 days as companions. That gives her an easy out, and some easy O's, if ya know what I mean. But nothing is simple, and no bargain struck with a demon is ever so straightforward. But as the days and nights go on, each of them will learn more about one another, the natural and supernatural worlds, and what it takes to be in a relationship and make it last. And did I mention it was 🔥❤️‍🔥🔥❤️‍🔥🔥

I loved the mental health representation in this book, the learning of open communication and trust building exercises between the two MC's. The learning to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a relationship even when it is difficult or against one's typical nature. Trying to be better for your partner, and also the representation that every relationship looks different and has different rules and boundaries. And sometimes a relationship isn't just between two people.

This was a great read that made me feel happy, sad, angry, ho®ny, scared, and hopeful.

Chris has a great writing style for what is their first book. At first I was asking where I could get myself a demon like Adrian, then that scene in the park made me want to punch him in the face repeatedly. Then a few chapters later he became adorable and alluring again.

But both characters are going through a lot and trying to find a way to escape their pain, which is what draws them together. But things were never going to be easy after making a deal with a demon. I enjoyed that part of this is about a demon realising they have feelings and the journey he goes through to explore them.

I love the multiple POV, it’s always great to get different perspectives and to understand how the main characters are thinking and feeling.

The first few chapters just turned into Sally in her dreams, so I was wondering if that’s all the story was going to be. But after a few chapters her real day to day life was brought back into it. It was good to see them trying to juggle things once Adrian was real.

This book was not for me. I would not consider it RH, which was unfortunate because thats why I picked it up on Booksirens. Nothing happens in the first 300 or so pages past the opening chapters, to the point that I kept reading just to see if something WOULD happen (and because I try not to DNF). The author loves to use the word colleague-in multiple sections it is in every other sentence. If you are a reader who picks up on those kinds of things, this will bug you. I appreciate the attempt at the plot, but in my opinion it was not climactic enough to be 500 pages long.

Obviously, some readers seemed to really love this book- so I am glad the author found its audience! Unfortunately, that just isn't me for this one.

2 stars instead of one, because I read in a few other reviews that this was the authors debut novel, and I have to add a star for that. I think with a good beta team/editor to point out errors this author has some promise!

First off, let me just state that this book is a total CLIFF HANGER and it's exactly where the RH would come into play. So the triggers mentioned about RH don't *really* make sense, considering it doesn't make it into this book. However, it is FULL of spice and naughty scenes (as one might generally expect coming from a book about a s*x demon right?) and I'm going to admit that I loved it, thoroughly.

There are little things I didn't like. "My college" or "my demon" or "my ginger haired friend" being set on repeat are not something I enjoy. I did happen to overlook it for the most part, because while there was a LOT of spice, there was also a story to go with it. Plot that shocked me to find in what I expected to be pure smut. (That part excites me - but for those looking for pure smut, expect to have to bookmark the pages for the scenes because yes, there IS story!) I also have a problem with instant gratification. I love a good slow burn.

Never Mate a Sex Demon was a bit of a rollercoaster. It kicks off with a dream encounter that introduces Adrian—a hot, sinfully flirtatious incubus who’s hard to resist. As the story unfolds, the deal between him and the main character (MC) goes beyond what either expected. Adrian's smooth-talking, seduction, and hidden wounds kept me curious, and just when things start to get really juicy, we meet Ethan, the charming, crush-worthy coworker, sparking a whole new level of drama.

Honestly, it took a while to hook me, and I didn’t feel truly invested until the last few chapters. Then, BAM—major cliffhanger. I would have appreciated a heads-up about that because cliffhangers aren’t my thing! If you’re like me and prefer a bit more closure, that might be a dealbreaker. But to be fair, the writing itself was solid, and even though the spice scenes were repetitive, I’d still give them a decent 3 out of 5. All in all, while I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, it wasn’t a bad read either.

Beware this book ends in a cliffhanger that definitely leaves you hanging off the cliff. PUBLISH THE NEXT BOOK NOW CHRIS, DO YOU HEAR ME!?!!! Such a great read, I finished in 4 hours. I, obviously, loved this book and cannot wait to read the next one IMMEDIATELY CHRIS!! Never Mate A S*x Demon follows our dearest human Sally and sexy incubus Adrian as they figure out all the reasons you should still mate a s*x demon, damned be the consequences you hear me, lol. The sex is steamy, and the chemistry is sizzling. I loved that Adrian remained a demon with demon ways, if that makes sense, throughout the book. He's our morally grey demon and so he must remain I declare it. In conclusion, 5 stars and CHRIS THE NEXT BOOK PLEASE!!

So at first, I was like okay, it has a lot of fun in it since it's literally in the name of the title but after we got past it. I started to enjoy it, the characters, Sally who is just a regular girl who starts to have dreams about a guy doing her in her dreams. Adrien is the demon of lust. Elaine is Sally's friend. Ethan who wants to try it on with Sally and seems to be an okay guy.

Sally and Adrien starts to do more in her dreams to the point Adrien comes out of her dreams in psychical form, it does take up alot of energy to do so, but the amount of sexy time they do, is something. 👌

The spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶
It's good now I need to know what is going to happen next, since Sally invited Ethan over to do sexy time with her and Adrien and ends up saying what the hell. Like does he know this guy or something I must know

An incubus, a woman trying to recover from the loss of her father, and the deal of a lifetime. What could go wrong?

Adrian is an incubus who is desperate to escape hell. Sally is a woman who is recovering from the death of her father and trying to put the pieces of her life back together. Adrian offers her a deal, he feeds off her energy and she gets the best s*x of her life. Who wouldn't want this deal.

But what starts as a simple deal become much more complicated when feeling start to develop the two. Throw in Sally's attraction to her colleague in the real world and you have a delicious love triangle.
At its core this is a sweet love story. Yes there is spice and boy is it spice, but at its heart its a story about two people who need each other finding the other at the perfect time.

And warning...there is a cliffhanger!!

"I want to make you come on my fingers, on my tongue, on my c.ck. Up the wall. On this rug. Outside. Everywhere. I want to taste your release. I want to do everything no one has ever done to you. I want to hear all the sweet noises you make because they’re for my ears only. I want to see you pliant and flushed after s.x.’’

Ger your fans ready ladies, this is one spicy read. It's about a 9.5 hour read, and from start to finish, it's full of spice. I mean, what else could you expect from a s ex demon. Adrian's devotion to Sally will have you sighing in contentment. I am not a fan of sharing, but the way it is discussed in this book makeses sense. I hate that this is the only solution, but I appreciate how it was explained. I didn't have to like it, but it's a reality in this plot. It does end in a to be continued.

I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily reviewed it.

Never Mate a S*x Demon is a captivating and unexpected read that took me by surprise in the best way possible. Sally, struggling with loneliness and self-doubt, finds her world turned upside down when she meets Adrian a demon who’s impossible not to fall for.

The spice in this book is undeniably hot, but it’s the plot that truly stands out. With surprising twists and an unconventional storyline, I could not put this down! And the romance? Absolutely swoon-worthy! Adrian falls first, and watching Sally enjoy her demon makes for a heart-melting journey. MINE!

This book strikes the perfect balance between sizzling chemistry and deep emotional connection, making it a must-read for fans of fated mates and paranormal romance.

Warning: the ending leaves you hanging on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to immediately crave the next book in the series!

“Believe my words, Sally. You are more than enough. You are everything.”

This book was so good! I really enjoyed the world building because it was unlike anything I had read before. It felt like a new and intriguing take on incubi that I loved to dive into! Also, I lovedddd Sally and Adrian's tension and chemistry. The spice was HOTTTT, but the cute, cuddly moments melted my heart as well. I liked reading Adrian's POV so I understood what he went through better and saw him grow. I will say I did not like Elaine. She seemed a little off so maybe foreshadowing for the future?? Besides that, I really enjoyed this debut book. Plus, the French thrown in every once in a while was so cute! I hope to get more of Ethan's POV in the rest of the series. The ending left on such a cliffhanger that I immediately jumped into book 2 (thank you ARC gods 🙏🏻)!

Well who wouldn’t want an incubus lover? Sally thought she asked the right questions to handle her hunky demon, Adrian… Turns out - maybe she didn’t. Sally is desperate for love/affection so she’s a prime target for Adrian. And Adrian? Well he’s a demon tailored to Sallys’s desires that doesn’t know what emotions are. You might be able to guess how this pans out.

This is book one in a four book series. It does have some angst. Sally doesn’t have the best grip on her self preservation… I wanted to shake her a bit. But I guess when the Demon D is good, it’s good. The cliffy? Well done! I won’t spoil it for you.

When Sally meets an incubus named Adrian in her dreams her whole life is about to change. 31 days worth of her energy for companionship from him. They never thought it would turn into so much more! Their story is full of so much spice only a demon could deliver and so much love she develops for him and with a cliffhanger at the end you may have seen coming from hints in the book. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series to continue their relationship with a twist. I received this as an ARC and enjoyed reading it but make sure you check out the tw first since it may not be for everyone.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This book takes off with no hesitation, and is hard to put down! Ideal for fans of a quick burn romance, this book starts hot and only gets hotter. Though the spice was consistently high, the romance had more than enough depth to keep this from being heartless. We love a story where he falls first, and she grows into seeing herself for how attractive she is.

The unique storyline is an exciting kickoff to a new series, with unique plot elements and great character dynamics. The pace is sure to keep readers engaged throughout, and positively salivating for book 2. Read with caution, those who like their books tied up nice and tidy, this one ends in a cliffhanger!

This book was super cute and fun! I loved the relationship between Sally and Adrian. She's a chunky book, but I kept coming back (which is impressive for me. My ADHD brain usually has a page limit 🤣)

The book follows Sally. She is dealing with grief when she meets an Incubus in her dreams. Shes not sure what to make of the demon at first, but they agree to a deal where he can visit her dreams for a month.... you can imagine what they get up to.

Im all about a hot demon, especially this time of year!

I was not expecting to fall in love w this book! I started reading thinking it was just a kind of snack like book to tide me over until my next engahlging world. How wrong I was. I hate the cover, (preferring my own imagination as to how MCs lol), and the title makes it seem like this book might be a whole other thing. While also being accurate. The story is so good. I love that it was this long, hate that I'll be waiting who knows how long for more. There are a few typos and some odd wording in sentences. Nothing that yanked me from the story though. I enjoyed all 9f these characters and want more.

This is my first time reading a book by this author and it won't be my last. It's the first book in the series and I enjoyed reading every single delicious minute of it. It's fast paced, quick, spicy, action packed and intriguing.

I couldn't put it down once I started I was hooked from start to finish. It's such a crazy rollercoaster ride. The storyline is great, the characters and amazing and interesting. Wonderfully written.

You instantly just take to sally the human and our sexy as sin incubus Adrian.

I can't wait to read the next book specially when it left us with a cliffhanger. Highly recommend reading.

If you are looking for a high spice level, this book will not disappoint. Nice to see a character that isn't a teen as the FMC. Story flows easily but I wanted more, especially during the dream portions. The story really didn't pick up until the demon Adrian made it to the human realm. I really liked how they wrote from both Sally and Adrian's point of view, and there were still surprises!

Excited to see where the story goes in the next book!

- "cute story"

- a little racy

- a lot questionable in the morality sense

- the desire of a lot of women to change the man they're with into someone good

i liked it. the book was good, it had a lot of emotions to offer up. what i just didn't like was that for me, the conversation was a bit lacking. there was a lot of things going in inside their heads rather than actual speech between the two, which i think would have contributed to a better relationship experience for the reader. but its all good!

This was a really good read. It was high spice with a very good storyline. I loved that it was dual POV; I think it really gave you a better understanding of what the characters were thinking and feeling. The journey that Adrian went through from the beginning of the book, where he’s the cocky, soulless, trickster demon, to where he ends up was phenomenal. The chemistry between Adrian and Sally is off the charts. I will say, the author got us all worked up and then left us hanging off a massive cliff lol, so be prepared for that!! But give this book a chance, I think you’ll like it.
