Welcome to the Sassy & Sixty series - funny, uplifting novels about friendship, reinvention, and refusing to grow old quietly.
Rosie Brown is determined to prove that life doesn’t stop at sixty. On the brink of divorce and fed up with feeling invisible, she decides it’s time to dust off the leopard print, ditch the sensible shoes, and start living again.
What follows is a hilarious, heartwarming journey of self-discovery, new friendships, unexpected romance, and plenty of mischief.
Her mission to take control of her life begins when she gets out of bed and realises that every part of her is starting to creak. All she’s done is lie down for eight hours, but she has the sort of neck pain that a younger person would associate with severe whiplash from a multi-car pile-up.
There are so many clicks and clacks from her creaking joints it sounds like someone’s knitting next to her as she walks. Serenaded by knitting needles when she used to be serenaded by handsome young men. How on earth did this happen?
She catches her reflection and gasps - when did she start looking like her own grandmother? But hold onto your dentures, because Rosie’s not going down without a fight.
On the brink of divorce, disillusioned, and desperately eyeing those comfy Clarks shoes, Rosie decides it's time to dust off her leopard print and channel her inner twenty-something.
Watch Rosie trade her sensible slacks for sassy stilettos as she shimmies through dance classes, leaving a trail of shocked faces and dropped jaws in her wake. Will her ex-husband Derek's eyes pop out of his head when he sees the new Rosie? You bet your bingo wings they will.
But the real fun begins when Rosie meets her new partners in crime - a gang of sixty-something troublemakers who prove that mischief has no age limit. From crashing singles mixers to staging senior citizen flash mobs, these golden girls are painting the town red… and maybe a few other colours they can't quite remember the names of.
Will Rosie find love again? Will she rediscover her zest for life? Or will she end up in a mobility scooter drag race down Main Street?
Sassy & Sixty is a funny, warm and uplifting story that proves it’s never too late to rewrite your life - even if you need reading glasses to see the page.
Perfect for readers who love Marian Keyes, Jill Mansell, The Golden Girls, and feel-good fiction about friendship, second chances, and women who refuse to fade quietly into the background.

I HAVE THE BEST, MOST LOVELY, LOYAL, SUPPORTIVE READERS IN THE WORLD. Here are some of my reviews:
"I adored the various storylines, loved the quirky and captivating characters, and was beguiled by Ms. Bloom's colorful and highly amusing writing style. I am hopelessly addicted. More Fat Girl, please!"
"The book was just a delight to read. Every time I picked the book up I could guarantee that it was going to make me smile. The full-length novel was funny, this one was hilarious, and heart-breaking at the same time. I was completely and utterly hooked to the pages and didn't want the book to end."
"The last thing on earth I need is another addiction, but I fear I have acquired a new one for the cunningly amusing author Bernice Bloom and her wily Adorable Fat Girl series. Mary Brown is an adorable yet outrageous Queen-Sized trouble-magnet and party animal who manages to embroil herself in the oddest of quandaries."
"I can't recommend this book enough. This series is fast becoming my favourite and I can't wait to see what's in-store next for Mary. I urge you to pick up these books, you won't be disappointed!"
"Cruise with an Adorable Fat Girl is just THE most heartwarming, funny and emotional read. It's great to have a more real life heroin
I realised this was likely to be a bit cheesy, but it sounded like it might also be funny and inspiring. Well if this book was a pizza it would be a Quattro Formaggio with added parmesan. Cheese overload. And so unrealistic. All six friends could somehow always get together at the drop of a hat, just one text and there they all are at the door. The characters weren't inspiring as much as annoying eg all of them causing chaos and throwing things in a supermarket and giggling like naughty school girls. Then at the end they decide to all live together. Really? All six of them? Or is it seven? Or five as it says on another page, as the author couldn't seem to keep up with her own storyline. The twins are four years old at the beginning and three later on! I've been generous with the two stars. I never not finish a book but speed read the last third.
