This was a full-length, holiday adjacent romance. What I mean by that is it takes place during the winter season and covers both Christmas and New Years. SO it works for the whole time!

This was an Ex-Boyfriend's Dad, Snowed In, Office Romance. Lots of great tropes and scenarios were squished into the tale and I enjoyed that so much! It was lower angst, since it's been awhile from when Ellie dated Fisher's son. So there wasn't a ton of tension for that at the start.

Their chemistry and mutual pining are very evident from the start. The easy camaraderie they share during the business day felt very natural. But there's just a tiny edge of flirting hinted at between them. When Ellie's well laid plans for a business retreat go awry, they find themselves snowed in for a week at the resort, in the same cabin no less.

They end up having a bit of a "screw it" moment and giving into their desires. And the rest is history! It so we would hope...

There was a lot I was loving about this one. But... as so often happens... the 3rd act was blown away out of proportion for me. I do NOT see why the hero was the one who owed all the explaining. That's my opinion though but it soured the last 20% for me. Ellie owed him a bit better than what she does. I don't agree that the decision should have been all hers. It disrespected the long standing relationship and connection they had.

Overall, this was good. Not everyone will be as annoyed as I was and it is good for a full length winter/holiday book.

3.5 stars (rounded up)
3 on the spice scale

CW: childless by choice, exhibitionism, and voyeurism

I could not put this book down! Started and finished it in the same day.

It hooks you right from the start. Fisher and Ellie are what forbidden romance, workplace romance, mutual secret pining, age gap and forced proximity dreams are made of 👏👏👏 and, man, THEY ARE SO SPICY 🌶️🔥🌶️🔥 This was such a good read. From the beginning this book has you already wanting them to open up to each other and get together(and, who am I kidding, get off together too!)- with a little help of that forced proximity they do not disappoint! They are so sexy and a little sassy too. They have the dreamiest of unexpected circumstances in “Wonderland” and encounter a few bumps that eventually completely change their situation. It takes some time and effort to make things work out but there was no way they couldn’t be together despite the hiccups. They were made for each other. ❤️ Truly enjoyed this book and pdefinitely recommend it if the tropes strike your interest!

This did release last week but as courtesy I waited until the furthest date I could to post this due to the rating.

I wanted to love this story but I just couldn’t. I found myself skimming a lot of it. Now the ending was definitely when it got exciting but again it was the ending and basically already over.

Now I think absolutely everyone should give this story read, everyone’s preferences are different. But I guess my main problem was I just didn’t understand the third act breakup, I just could not see her point of view of things.

The spice was there and it was great, I did love the chemistry and the forbidden aspect of their relationship. Not only is it a workplace romance but also exs dad. Their relationship was fun, sad, happy, basically every emotion there is. Of course it is a hea which I adore everytime.

When the snow falls, the rules melt away... And if that doesn’t make you want to dive in, here’s the dedication:

“To the readers who want a little ho ho ho in their lives. Sometimes, you just want to read about someone getting an HEA with their ex-boyfriend’s Dad.”

I mean, if that doesn’t have you one-clicking, what will?!

Imagine this: you’re Ellie, a firecracker assistant who knows how to run a tight ship and look damn good while doing it.

Enter Fisher—your broody, billionaire boss and your ex-boyfriend’s dad. 🚨 SCANDAL ALERT 🚨 But hey, you’ve been pining for him for years, and he’s been secretly head over heels for you too.

Cue a surprise snowstorm that traps you both in a cozy cabin, complete with one bed and all the tension. ❄️

Let’s just say this trip turns from spreadsheets to spicy sheets REAL quick. Fisher’s all “Princess, let me take care of you,” while Ellie’s thinking, “Daddy Fisher, you better mean all of me.”💋

And y’all, the nicknames had me swooning and fanning myself like a Victorian maiden.

This story serves:
💼 CEO vibes with just a hint of “I’m secretly whipped for my assistant.”
❄️ Snowed-in slow burn that builds hotter than a Yule log 🔥
👀 Spice that’ll have you saying, “Oh, Santa, that’s naughty.”

Sure, there’s a little drama (because what’s forbidden love without a dash of chaos?), but these two? They’re the whole damn Christmas miracle package. Sexy, swoony, and full of holiday magic. 🎁✨

If you love:
🎅 Age gaps as wide as the Grand Canyon
❄️ Forced proximity that heats things up fast
💋 Daddy vibes with a side of dirty talk

Meet Me In Wonderland (Book #3 in Angel Anders' In The Carolinas Series)

Ellie has worked as Fisher's trusted assistant for years, but their connection runs much deeper. Years ago, she dated his son, Knox, but those feelings have long faded, replaced by a growing attraction between her and Fisher. Despite their 17-year age gap and professional boundaries, their chemistry is undeniable.

When a work trip to a North Carolina mountain resort leaves them snowed in together, they finally confront their long-hidden feelings. Away from the pressures of the office, Fisher, who has long been consumed by his job, finds new joy in his time with Ellie, while she grapples with whether to pursue a new career or stay by his side.

This story offers a charming blend of age-gap and workplace romance set against a cozy holiday backdrop. Their playful banter, sizzling tension, and sweet nicknames—like “Princess” and “Daddy Fisher”—make their relationship feel authentic and endearing. The spicy scenes are well-balanced with heartfelt moments, making this a perfect mix of sweet and steamy. 😮‍💨

While this book can be enjoyed as a standalone, cameos from characters in previous books (Forgive Me For My Sins and Find Me Along The Shore) add extra depth for fans of the series and I LOVED seeing them again! OH And the first two are available on kindle unlimited for you to read!

Meet Me In Wonderland is a delightful holiday romance filled with chemistry, humor, and heart. Perfect for fans of age-gap, slow-burn romances with a festive twist!

A winter wonderland slow burn, forbidden romance, with found family dynamics, and enough spice to warm you up. While I did enjoy swoon-worthy Fisher and firecracker Ellie, I found the second half crawled and we got an unnecessary 3rd act breakup. Overall, this is a cozy, wintry read that will have you wishing for your own winter wonderland.

❄️Meet Me in Wonderland ARC review❄️

I’m so late to this series, but this book made me add the first 2 to my TBR! Angel’s writing is so good. This is book 3 of the In the Carolinas series.
Ellie is Fishers longtime assistant but gets offered a job across the country. She’s got only weeks to decide whether or not to take the job so she goes on the winter retreat. While there, they get snowed in, so they explore their feelings for each other.
The chemistry these 2 have is phenomenal. He is her calm. I loved them! The spice was spicy and it gives Hallmark movie vibes.
This was a slow burn, cozy winter, forbidden, age gap romance that I loved so much! Overall a good read that I highly recommend.

This was such a cute & cozy holiday romance with a good amount of spice! Ellie and Fischer weren’t my favorite characters (I prefer Harper and Grayson in Anders’ novel, Meet Me at the Shore), but I enjoyed their story! I felt like Ellie was pretty immature about how she handled certain things but I think it worked because it emphasized their age difference. I also loved the forced proximity/snowed-in trope. If you enjoy a good holiday romance with some spice, I’d definitely recommend adding this to your TBR this season🩵

This story was a guilty pleasure, if I’m being honest, and I was SO excited to be selected as an ARC reader for this one! As my official first “forbidden romance” read, I became rapidly obsessed with Ellie and Fisher. The build up within the first few chapters had me on the edge of my seat. God, I loooooove mutual pining - especially when both parties are clueless about the other’s affections!

My favorite things about this book:
- snowed in ❄️
- “princess” 👸🏼
- that airplane scene 🛩️🥵

First of all, thank you to Angel Anders and Grey’s Promotions for sending me a copy of the eARC 🩵

For my first Christmas rom-com, Meet Me in Wonderland was definitely enjoyable! I LOVE the ex-boyfriend’s single dad trope, and this brought it with full force! Fisher and Ellie definitely know how to bring the heat from the very first page!

Tropes:
- Snowed in ❄️
- He’s her boss 👔
- He’s her ex-boyfriend’s father 🥰
- Age-gap 👩‍❤️‍👨
- She’s his assistant 📝

A cute age gap romance that starts with being stuck at a resort due to a snow storm. The one problem: she’s falling for her ex’s father. Problems start to arise when he finds out and they struggle to make it work. This is a great book to get you ready for winter!

I want to love every ex-boyfriend's dad romance I read but I just did not love this one.
I was excited for that & boss x assistant. This one was just not for me. I got so bored. I don't love a romance where they just date each other for 300 pages. I need more. There were no stakes. The tension wasn't built up enough for me. The spicy times were good but I found myself just skimming the last 40%.

I do think a lot of people will enjoy this romance. Who doesn't want to be snowed in with their boss you've been crushing on? But it just wasn't for me. On to the next!

I did not like it. I couldn't feel the tension, it hardly felt forbidden and they ate way too often in this book.

- Forbidden
- Age gap (17 years)
- Forced proximity
- Holiday/winter

Rating:
2⭐️; I didn't like it and will not recommend

Ellie has been Fisher's assistant for a while now. A long time ago, she was also the ex girlfriend of his son. For him, she was more than his assistant, because it turns out he has feelings for her. And those feelings are not from now, but from the moment she started working for him. Unbeknownst to him, she felt the same way. Yes, she was Knox's girlfriend, but it's long forgotten. Yes, she and Fisher have a big age gap, but that doesn't stop her attraction. Even better, with every single day her feelings are growing stronger.

When a planned office trip at a winter resort turns into them being snowed in together and alone, it becomes the perfect opportunity for them to finally explore what they feel.

I love reading age-gap romances, and I honestly fell in love with Fisher and Ellie's love story. She was a bit hesitant at the beginning because she had a job opportunity in another city. But in the meantime, she actually wanted to be with him. He never thought that Ellie could be in love with him, but the time spent together proved him wrong.

Even though the story was a bit slow-burn,  when they got together, I wasn't disappointed from the spice Angel Anders gave us. The chemistry between those two was explosive; the smut was so damn good, and we've seen some sexy, kinky moments. In a couple of words, I loved everything that happened between Ellie and Fisher when it came to the love scenes.

I never read the previous books from the series, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the characters from the other books. It made me want to read them too.

This was the perfect Christmas love story, and I definitely loved it ♥️.

⭐️2.5/5⭐️
I started out liking this, but overall, I didn’t like the writing and the third act breakup soured the experience.

💕FOR THE REASONS I READ ROMANCE:
The Connection of the Couple: 4/5
Do I believe the couple will endure after the last chapter: 3.5/5
Couple spent enough time together: 4/5
Give and Take balance between the couple: 2/5
Couple was balanced and suited: 4/5
Banter and Fun Times: 4/5
The Ending Nailed: 1/5

🖋️THE WORDS
Show and not Tell: 2/5
Was I transported and enraptured: 3/5
Was the language sophisticated: 2/5

⛔️(SPOILERS BELOW)⛔️
My Personal Preference Lenses:
The writing was a lot of telling the reader about how characters felt, rather than letting the reader gather that for themselves with the events that happen in the story. This was more cheesy and what you expect a rom com to be like.
Overall, I found this imbalanced. There was a weird power imbalance between the two MCs, the H was constantly chasing and worshipping. I don’t want a puppy dog as a boyfriend, I want a man. 3/4s of the book was light and fluffy, cozy and warm then it does an abrupt 360 turn and became angsty.

🌸OTHER NOTES
Characters Likability:
H: He was so in love and worshipping of the h. It was a little too much and didn’t have enough basis as to why. He was thoughtful and considerate, reserved and controlled, generous and giving. He was planned which I do like.
h: She seemed to be good at her job. She was in love with the H long before the story began. She was always ogling him and fanning herself because he was so hot. She was fine. But I didn’t understand her reasons for her ultimatum in the end.

The Couple’s Connection:
The pining and sexual tension in the beginning of this book was great. I was hooked. It was a long wait with a few of nearly went there’s until they did and it was great. The couple was just sailing through their relationship with spending the holidays together, all of it was so effortless and cozy and I liked it.
Where the book went downhill for me was the abrupt change of tone that I didn’t think was foreshadowed well enough to make it believable. The H doesn’t answer the h correctly in a moment of weakness and because of that she leaves him, her job and moves to another state. When he does explain himself, she is cryptic and tells him the equivalent of if you really love me you will do the right thing, but doesn’t say what the right thing is. I found that so out of place and not explained well and that general vague ultimatum to be immature on her part.

Push Pull:
When the couple was together they were pulled together naturally. It was only the weird third act breakup when the h pulls away.

The Ending:
This ends abruptly, the couple does find eachother again but once they say their I love yous, that was it, the end. The epilogue was completely about the next book.

SUMMARY
My favorite thing about this book:
The first part before the couple gets together and you are waiting for it to happen was nicely done. The sweet moments the couple enjoys together during the holidays was cozy.

What I didn’t like:
The writing was a little awkward but I was willing to forgive that in the beginning because the love story was pretty good. But that third act breakup and the h’s reasoning that came from left field was not only a head scratcher but it soured the story for me. It felt like the h was unnecessarily making the H jump through hoops and it made her look completely selfish. Isn’t a relationship about compromise? He really had to drop everything for her? I didn’t buy it.

Should you read this: No

Will this go on my favorites shelf to read again: No

This was a cozier age gap with some lovely slowish-burn sizzle! This couple had such great chemistry with a solid mix of mutual apprehension from the fact that they are 17 years difference plus work colleagues.

There's some quirky humor from Ellie and I really vibed with her! Sweet, honest, headstrong at work and values herself. But also knows what her heart feels and doesn't want to miss out on her chance with the man she's pined for for several years.

"Daddy" Fisher, though not that old but gets the name since she at one point dated his son, is admirable and a gentleman but also delivers the spice for his "princess". I felt for him since he's watched his life eaten up by his job and has rarely been able to just be himself and loved that the winter retreat allowed him to just be "him" and let his feelings be known.

This was overall a lower resistance age gap, workplace romance but highly enjoyable, especially considering the holiday type feel to it. With just some frustration I felt towards Ellie in the third act as I felt she was being rather harsh towards Fisher, when he clearly expresses his undying love to her so fully. But an easy recommendation and just loved this couple, so sweet... and Fisher especially deserves his happiness!

Meet Me In Wonderland by Angel Anders ✨️arc review✨️

This book was so 🤭😳🥰 I thoroughly enjoyed the spice, relationship, and Christmas vibes *perfect for us as we glide towards the holidays 😊* This book seemed a bit faster paced, which was absolutely fine by me because the tension the first few capters served was ✨️ASRONOMICAL✨️. Remember friends, every good romance starts with the hot 40 year old boss and getting stuck in a storm. Like, come on freaking SWOON!! Which is only amplified by their pre-relationship flirting an banter like UGH its the "yes, Mr.Underwood."Easy Ellie" for me. Like, I'm sorry, are you trying to kill me with this TENSION ma'am??!?!?!? There's so much heat it's gonna fry out my Kindle 😩😩

I'm not going to lie. their relationship dynamic was a bit 👀👀 but in the best way possible. My brain thoughts went from "oh okay, that's hot" to "holy canolie, this tea is PIPING hot sis." Now my bookish babes, the spice, did not disappoint, and Angel Anders added a couple of twists that I didn't see coming *Mia I do be lookin at you 👀* and left my jaw on the FLOOR. Which I have found is quite common in this series (oh, did I not mention this is book #3 of the In the Carolinas Series? 🤭😎) Overrall, I truly enjoyed this book. The development of Ellie and Fisher's relationship was such a heartwarming experience because ,in my opinion, they compliment each other very well, both personality wise and in other areas 👀🤭. Between the spice, tension, jaw drop scenes, and piping hot tea, I 10/10 recommend this book!!

As mentioned, Meet Me In Wonderland is Book #3 in Angel Anders In The Carolinas Series, this book is being released into the wild on November 19. As far as my knowledge goes these books are interconnected standalones so they can be read alone however are best enjoyed as a packaged deal *gotta keep the besties together😎🍷* Book #1 Forgive Me For My Sins and Book #2 Find Me Along The Shore are both avaiable to read on Kindle Unlimited.

🌶️🌶️🌶️. 5

I absolutely love this series and Angel didn't disappoint with this one. I remember meeting Ellie in Book 2 and the things her boss did for her friends bachelorete party. So I was intrigued to know what her story was.
This has all the forbidden tropes, Ex Boyfriend's Dad, Age Gap (17yrs),Boss/Assistant, Snowed In and Close Proximity.
Love these tropes and just made this story that much better.
Ellie has had feelings for her boss Fisher for a long time. She started working for him after her ex broke up with her. She loves her job but is talented for so much more. Yet she puts it all aside because she can't seem to want to leave him. Now is the time to tell him her feelings or move for her dream job.
Fisher is a wonderful man that wants a relationship with his estranged son. That is quite mean, only uses him when he needs something. So his feelings for Ellie can't come out, as that will ruin things with his son. I really liked Fisher and Ellies relationship. Therr is something in the air at their retreats as they both seem to be bolder and flirt. The tension is palpable and had me on the edge, just waiting for THE moment.
The spice was great as expected.
Now they have crossed the line, it means having to face reality and all the forbidden reasons it shouldn't work. Yet they didn't back down and faced everything together until his son caught them......
Reason it didn't make it to 5 stars was because I felt she was very unfair with the break up and distance. I do understand he needed time away and reflect etc but 9 months separation was harsh. I really felt for Fisher. But what he does during those times is super cute 😍.
Very entertaining read, fantastic friends, warm winter Wonderland feels and hot spice.

What is with the scenes cutting off at such weird times? I have never seen this in a book and it was so awkward. It made everything feel incomplete. They are in the middle of a spicy scene, it goes into full detail spice (so its not like this is to keep it closed door, which I would understand if that was the case), and then it just clips and cuts to another day, or another event. Also, they are constantly eating. This seems like it wouldn't be an issue, but everything is about coffee, food, ordering food, looking at menus, eating meals. It gets annoying after a bit. Ellie comes off as a bit of a Karen when things at the resort go awry. I think the author was going for assertive, professional woman, but it just made a mockery of how women are perceived when they are trying to fix an issue that comes up in a professional setting. There was more tension between the MCs in the office, and then not so much when their romance story is actually starting to take off. It's like the tension just took a dive. The spicy scenes are also written in a very choppy fashion that makes it seem a little too realistic. Giving off all the awkwardness that probably, actually occurs when two new partners try to have slightly kinky sex and don't quite pull it off. Ellie's decisions towards the end are just so hard to follow. If the FMC is going to be doing this, there needs to be more explanation and more of a deep dive into the characters thought process.

Things I did enjoy were the first 20% of the book. Like I said previously, this is where all the tension between the MCs is. I also enjoyed the ending. I don't think this book or this author is for me. But everyone is different, so I would say if you wanted to read this book, go for it. There are a lot of positive reviews, so maybe some of this is just my preferences.

Meet me in wonderland By Angel Anders

“Everyone deserves happiness. Sometimes, it just takes some of us a bit longer to figure out what that means.”

Rate: 5/5✨

Spicy: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Such a cute Christmas romance book. To be honest it was kind of cringy and reminded me of a hallmark movie but I got to admit it was still such a good read😩 So my rate is a 5/5✨
Alright when I said the book was cringy, I actually meant it. For those who watched hallmark movies and thought they were cringy you know what I’m talking about🤭 But besides that the main characters of the book were great. Fisher and Ellie romance was one of kind. Ellie always having a crush on him, and it’s hers ex boyfriend a dad. Like the way my mouth dropped when I read that part, I was like this girl. But the way her ex boyfriend dumped her to succeed in his career. I understand his perspective but he could have tried at least to save the relationship but whatevs.
Fisher on the other hand wanted Ellie to have everything she wanted. He knew he falling hard when he was spending big money on her on their trip👀 My favorite thing about fisher is probably the way he tries to be apart of sons life and make a connection with him since he wasn’t there in his child years. That’s the one thing that really caught my attention and at the ending when they had beef with one another again. He knew what he needed to do to protect his relationship with is son.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves:
1) Age Gap
2) Forced Proximity
3) She falls first but he falls harder

This is the third book In the Carolinas series. I haven’t read the first two and honestly from reading the book I had no idea there were previous books. This book reads as a complete standalone. Ellie use to date Fisher’s son but after their breakup and she was having difficulty finding a job Fisher hired her as his assistant. So for the last few years that’s what she has done in fact so efficiently that Fisher doesn’t want her to be promoted. Well that and the fact that he is completely fascinated with her but he’s worried because he’s 20 years older and he doesn’t want to have children. Ellie has been offered a much better job in a state where her father lives. She is reluctant to take this job because she is in love with Fisher and does want to leave him. On a retreat in North Carolina there is a rare and unusual snow storm that traps them in the same cabin and causes them to cancel the retreat. Before long desires are exposed and instinct and attraction take over. Now that these two have become intimate will they admit their love for one another. Will Ellie accept the job in a different state or will Fisher drive her away. I enjoyed this story. I was worried that because it was ex boyfriend’s father that the son who be present in the story brooding and making snarky remarks about their relationship. But that really didn’t happen. Sweet story of two people in love having to contend with a large age gap and the fact that he’s her boss.

Meet Me In Wonderland by Angel Anders is book three in The Carolinas series. I enjoyed this book so much. If you like forced proximity, age gap, workplace romance, ex boyfriend’s dad, let me take care of you, spice, mutual pining books then you will love this book.

Ellie is Fisher’s assistant and his son’s ex girlfriend. She is a bad ass assistant and knows Fisher very well. She also happens to be into him but feels like she has no chance.

Fisher is focused on his company and doesn’t have time to date. He isn’t very close to his son and loves his friend’s daughter Avery like she’s his. He keeps to himself and doesn’t let anyone get close. He is very protective of Ellie and is into her but isn’t too sure if he should act on it. Until they go on a company trip and are snowed in together and things change.

This is the first book I’ve read by Anders and I really enjoyed it. I thought the storyline was great. I loved the characters, the friendship between Ellie and Harper it’s so much like the friendship with my friends, I also love the nickname they have for Fisher. I love the way Fisher thinks Ellie will need to get used to compliments and makes sure she’s being taken care of. I can’t wait to go back and read the first two books. I think everyone should read this book, don’t add it to your TBR…read it!! I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.

🌟🌟 ARC REVIEW 🌟🌟

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is an absolutely steamy romance with some of the best tropes one can hope for including:

• Age gap (20 years)
• Ex-boyfriend’s father
• Forced proximity
• Boss/His assistant
• Voyeurism
• Exhibitionism
• Public play

A mountain work retreat turns into a hot week despite a snowstorm that cuts off their communication from the rest of the world and closes the mountain. During this time we discover that Ellie and Fisher have had feelings for each other that they’ve never revealed. A blissful week of love making and getting to know one another on a deeper level leads to Christmas in Charleston, NYE in Seattle, and then trying to navigate their professional relationship once they’re back in the office. All is well until his adult son, who is Ellie’s ex-boyfriend, shows up unexpectedly and discovers them in a relationship. When Fisher doesn’t handle the confrontation in a way that supports Ellie and illustrates her as his primary focus, she decides to make some major life changes. A new job and a cross country move for Ellie have Fisher questioning what his priorities are. Like all good romance novels there is eventually a HEA, but the spice beforehand is delicious and will keep you wanting more. Fisher and Ellie certainly deliver in this quick read.

This is an interconnected standalone and the 3rd installment of In the Carolinas series.

Having romantic feelings for your boss in Ellie’s eyes is a no go, especially when you add a 20 year age gap and the most important factor is that you dated his son. But working with Fisher and seeing him day in and day out has only not helped but further added to her feelings for him. His put together demeanor at work, his tattoos and the way that he treats her and knows her are just the traits that have helped her develop these feelings towards him. Being stuck in a resort with nowhere to go is that catalyst that was needed to see where the relationship would go. You are snowed in and basically forced to spend time with each other. What you get and what I most love is that moment where you just say F it and just go with the feelings that have been there for a while. The snow covered mountains, the lake and the deers it isn’t a fairytale, it's a wonderland and it is their wonderland. I loved how they all have such a great support system. Ellie has Harper who is her sounding board for anything “Daddy Fisher” related.
Fisher has Avery who I think is the best person in his life. She tells him how it is and doesn’t hold back. I love a friend who doesn’t sugar coat it but tells you how you are messing up. Reading how Ellie and Fisher work through the obstacles and how they simply do not just move forward but take the time that is needed to make sure that the right steps are taken. This is the third book in the Carolina series and I am hooked.

What’s a girl to do when she gets offered her dream job…but it’s a whole coast away from the job she’s currently working but has grown to love? Not to mention a boss who she may or may not have the tiniest little crush on? Oh and a boss who just so happens to be her exes dad. Well you stuff it all down and go on the companies winter retreat you’ve been meticulously planning for months and if you just so happen to get snowed in with said boss… well then you make the best of it and see if maybe your feelings aren’t complete one sided.

I have to say I really enjoyed this book, it was a little slow going for a bit and this is definitely a medium/slow burn to get into the real meat of the romance but man once these characters figure it out things take off at rocket speed and the romance became down right swoon worthy! I loved Ellie and Fishers characters 1000% I think I could read a whole other book just about the two of them. And the romance, I mean the spice was impeccable, but the way these two characters took care of each other in all aspects of life was just downright enviable! So if you’re in the mood for a winter time slow burn forbidden romance, with amazing characters, great friendships, hilarious antics between friend groups, quite a bit of spice and a powerful ending then this is the book for you!

HAPPY READING 📖

A standalone workplace, forbidden romance set in Angel Anders ‘In the Carolinas series’ as PA Ellie has been hiding a crush on her boss Fisher who just happens to be her ex-boyfriend’s father. Things come to a head when they go to a mountain resort where they were supposed to be hosting a work event and end up being trapped in the same cabin by a freak snowstorm and Ellie discovers that Fisher has been hiding his own feelings.

This was a strong contemporary romance with well rounded characters. There was an age gap between the hero and heroine but only seventeen years with Fisher forty-three to Ellie’s twenty-six. They had worked together for years and had a good relationship as friends before anything happened and appeared to want the same things from life. The twist to their being together was Ellie’s previous relationship with his son but for me that was mitigated by the fact that he hadn’t been a part of his son’s life growing up, only finding out about him as an adult. The overall story for Meet Me in Wonderland was engaging and I don’t know if was down to the snowed in element, but I can’t help but feel a bit of cosy vibe from it. This book is part of an interlinked series but although some familiar characters make an appearance, I don’t think any spoilers would be given away if you read these books out of order.

Meet Me in Wonderland
(ARC review)

Tropes: Boss x assistant / forced proximity / ex’s dad/ age gap / holiday romance

Angel Anders is a new to me author this month! When I saw this cover + trope reveal it was instantly calling my name! This was such a perfect read to get into the holiday spirit, it was giving nostalgic hallmark romance vibes and I was here for hit

Daddy Fisher! The broody, billionaire CEO, dirty talker, control freak who makes you literally fall to your knees. He never had time for anyone or anything… except for his assistants attention. After his son broke up with her he gave her a job as his assistant, but what he wasn’t expecting was to fall so hard for her. Years later he has yet to share his feelings and now time is running out. The once CEO who worked 24/7 was now waiting on Ellie hand in foot and striving to be the couple that matches their outfits together. Once he claimed her as his there was no going back to the life he once had.

Ellie was the decisive, confident, powerful assistant who made sure she thought of everything Fisher needed. She dreamt that he would need her too one day. How could she confess to him this burning urge she had to be his? Now, stuck in a snowstorm and forced to share a cabin that’s all she could think of. It was now or never…

What happens when you fall in love with your ex-boyfriend’s dad and he’s your boss?

Ellie and Fisher travel to North Carolina for a work retreat. Due to a heavy snow storm, they are forced to share a cabin together. This is when she realizes she did not pack the most appropriate clothes to be sharing a room with her boss. They spend quality time together, sharing their interest and love for each other. Fisher tries to keep his distance due to the age gap between them. From room service dates to sexy nights together, they are forced to go back to reality, which is their normal professional work-life. Ellie is offered a new position in the company that she is a perfect fit for.

To find out what happens after they return back to work, read Meet Me In Wonderland.

My review:
This is book #3 but it can be read as a standalone. I loved the slow burn, age gap, workplace romance read. The characters fit perfectly into this book: sweet and professional. The spicy romance was perfect; not too overwhelming for a workplace romance novel. Overall I really enjoyed this read, especially the nicknames created for the characters - Princess, daddy Fisher. I had a few giggles (the airplane scene), which I enjoyed and the book was easy to read and grasp. ❤️

❄️ Forced Proximity
❄️ Princess/brat vibes
❄️ Found Family
❄️ Age gap (26/43)
❄️ Workplace Romance

Ellie has been working for Fisher for the past few years as his assistant. They first met through Knox, Fisher’s son and her ex-boyfriend. Despite their age gap, both of them can’t prevent their mutual attraction. When they end up becoming roommates due to a lodging issue in a North Carolina mountain resort, all the secret pining is revealed!

I loved the focus on Ellie and her career. Women should have the opportunity to have all that we want – love, career and family – depending on the individual’s wants, and I like how it was reinforced here. As for Ellie’s friends, I totally enjoyed seeing Harper in this book as I loved her from the previous book.

With Ellie and Fisher working closely together and the complicated past they have (thanks to Knox), there are a lot of details which they need to map out for their relationship to succeed. Can they truly survive all this or is it just a fling in their wonderland?

With Christmas coming real soon, I enjoyed the picturesque descriptions of the mountain resort and all the Christmas feels in Charleston. Reading is definitely a good way to experience things, especially when I can’t travel that far. Overall, this was a really good workplace and age gap romance, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
