This was a free audible book I used to fall asleep to. Unfortunately it was an easy choice cause I knew I really didn’t give a damn about it. It’s for quite a young audience (obviously) so I couldn’t have enjoyed it in any other setting. That being said I think it would be a wonderful choice for a child. Very fun adventures and exciting scenarios! ✌️
This is a complete and utter disappointment! I have done many of the Disney audiobooks and the majority of them have been creative, entertaining, and well written. I absolutely love the movie "Frozen" so I figured I would love this one. Unfortunately...that is not the case here. Although this was obviously geared towards a younger audience, it was still simplistic, the plot dragged on and the ending was predictable.
Now I am a big believer that children's stories can be as compelling as stories for adults, it just depends on the storytelling ability and characters. Although it was the beloved characters from "Frozen", it still lacked charm.
I am counting this cause I had to listen to it for 2 and half hours, but giving it 4 stars because my toddler listened to it in silence in one go lol. She wanted to start it over as soon as it was over.
Overall It was an enjoyable read and a wonderful performance. I read the audiobook. I loved how the story started and lead to a quest. I think the later part of the story felt bit repetitive and predictable. It took away the excitement had earlier. Some parts felt too long and too many stories in a shorter period. Even though Olaf claims that he has read every book of the library, he seems unfamiliar with all the stories they encountered. I think the story could be improved a little more. I like the modern touch they have tried to add but telegrams are not familiar with the kids. Overall I enjoyed listening to the book.
So, three out of five probably isn’t fair since this book isn’t meant for me, and I’m sure if I was five years old, I would have given it at least four stars, possibly five if I was a girl too.
Olaf is my favorite character in the Frozen oeuvre, and since this was short and free on Audible, I thought I’d add it to my collection in case I needed something refreshing. Well, after my last non-fiction book, I definitely needed a palate cleanser, and this worked really well.
Olaf’s is questing for a mysterious library in a city over the mountain and through the woods. Along the way he collects new stories from his friends and those he meets. Some of the stories seem very familiar, while a few are unique to this story. I loved the one told by the sheep herder.
This was fun to listen to, and it made me wish my kid was young again, so we could listen together.
“I liked the part where they found their way to the House Biblio” -Lincoln (7) “my favorite part was when they were trying to find more books to read.” - Claire (5)
Not really sure why this felt as if it was needed. The Frozen craze has kind of died down. This also felt like it’s supposed to be a halloween special story
Olaf was his special little self. Not sure where his love for books came from, but ok. There were times when he sounded just like his normal voice actor.

This book's central focus is Olaf. Olaf is a snowman who loves to curl up by the fireplace with a book. Olaf's favorite stories are the ones with adventure. One day Olaf realizes that he has read every book in the castle and town libraries, so he begins a quest to find a new book. On the quest, Olaf is told oral tales that satisfy him. Overall, this book is a cute and engaging read. I also appreciated that the plot points and storyline of the book were different from the movie. This writing style gives the story variety. The voice acting in this book is stellar.
Fun, but very simple. Basically a series of fairy tales with a small through line. My 3 year old really enjoyed listening to this with me. The voice acting and sound effects are top notch. I think we would have liked it more if it told more stories about Olaf and the Frozen characters, but it just tells about a dozen normal fairy tales. I'd heard about half of them, so I'm not sure if the others are real or not but I assume they're just normal one too.
In the mornings, when driving my kids to school, I put on an audiobook to listen to. We chose this one this week and they really enjoyed it. A great cast and performance, filled with laughter and exciting adventures and stories.
They rated it 4.5/5 stars!
Their favourite part? Every time they said “Haus Biblio”. They even made a song and kept singing the word “Haus Biblio” all day.
Would you believe that im not the target audience for this? I have seen the frozen movie and enjoyed that greatly and hoped for an adventure like that but this book just did not scratch that itch for me at all. The repetitive stories one after the other just wore me down. Not for me but I bet a kid would love this
The first 40% or so is amazing! I love the idea of an Olaf adventure especially one to find books, but then the story spirals into worn and tired old fables/fairy tales and Olaf's voice is drowned out. Instead of going n an adventure he listens to other people's ramblings. Too bad, really the story was limited by the writers imagination and it was limited.
Less than Mediocre. This story isn't worthy of inclusion in Frozen storytelling. The production and performance quality is great, but I don't think anyone asked for an educational program of Olaf explaining how a morse code telegraph system works. If you love Disney's Frozen please skip this audiobook.
My kids had the best time listening to this story. They did notice that the voices were different than the voices in the movies but they enjoyed this all the same. This made a long drive so much more bearable for everyone. They spent so much time laughing along with Olaf, Anna, Kristoff and Sven as they travel to Haus Biblio.
In Olaf's quest to get more stories - because he has sooooooo much time on his hands that not only has he finished ALL of the books in the castle but he's also finished ALL the books in the Arendale library!!! What better quest could he have gotten but but to get more stories. And lucky for him, everyone he encounters has a story for him. This was cute.
This is a delightful story, we get to join Olaf on a Quest that becomes an adventure beyond his wildest imagination. On a quest to find Haus Biblio we meet numerous people and are reminded that stories are not only found in books. A lovely listen for kids and adults alike. I listened to this on Audible.
This was cute and probably great for a little kid, but that’s all I’d suggest it for. I love the Frozen movies and Olaf (who always had lots of cute quips) but this was just ok.
