Lots of emotions packed into it but it is a really nice story to read
One Summer by Elle Jefferson - 4 stars
Great story I really enjoyed it
I was a bit weary at first because of the whole talks to ghosts thing in a romance but the Author did a really good job with the story and kept me engages the whole time.

Sweet Southern Sorrow by Tessa Teevan - 4 Stars
I was given this book as an ARC by Tessa and absolutely loved this story MMMMM Sawyer he is so sweet and hot and OMG I want Sawyer
This is a story about Sawyer and Cheyenne they fall in love over summer when they are young and then are separated after certain events and don’t see or talk to each other for 6 years.
“Don’t, pretty girl. Don’t get all in your head and start pushing me away. I know you remember, too. How good we were together. How good we could be again.”
The story jumps between timelines so you are getting parts of the back story while also seeing them reconnect in the current time.
I really love the way the story plays out between Sawyer and Cheyenne there is a lot of pain and angst but it flows really well.
This was a great box set and I recommend reading it! I calculated my ratings for all books combined and it came out to be 4.3. I'd have to say that my top 5 books would be:
1. Sweet Southern Sorrow by Tessa Teevan 2. Wilder Nights by N.A. Alcorn 3. One Summer by Elle Jefferson 4. Never Wanted More by Stacy Mosteller 5. Rock Country by K. Webster
I left individual reviews for all books that allowed me to.
No joke there is definitely a story for everyone in this boxset and I loved them all!!! I'm glad I didn't meet Sawyer (Sweet southern Sorrow) or Bobby (Rock country)until the last two stories because WOWZA!!!
I've written reviews for some of the books within this set, but need to leave reviews for the remainder, will do so later today.
Wilder Nights by N.A. Alcorn.
3 stars
Was a bit strange to get into at first. Some parts flowed and other parts seemed forced. A number of lines got repeated throughout, which was annoying, cos hello we've already read them. Was almost as if the writer just repeated them to get the word count up.
It did frustrate me that
There is actually a really good story here and with only a few tweaks it would be a freaking awesome story.
The One by Jacqueline Ayres
5 stars
OMG this story is bloody awesome. I'm lost for words, I really am.
I'll be honest, at the start I wasn't sure I was gonna like it. It started with Kips POV, and there was a lot of humour, but I couldn't see where the story was going to go, especially given what he was getting up to at the beginning. It pulled you in and you start to think it's going to go in one direction, then 'bam' it goes somewhere else, albeit with a hint of where you thought it was going to go. Then 'bam' before you know it you're in this emotional rollercoaster, still with humour mixed in. Then you're thinking "whoa, wtf? Didn't see that coming at all". Then before you know it you're at the end, really disappointed because it's finished, and you just want to keep reading it.
My only criticisms are:
This is the first story I've read by this author, and it certainly will not be the last. I'm heading over to Amazon Kindle now to check out her other works.
This story exemplifies why box sets like this work, you get a chance to try out an author you wouldn't necessarily have gone out of your way to read.
Throw Caution To The Wind by Kelly Collins
3 stars
Mmmmmmmmmm, I liked this story, but I didn't love it. I wish I had something constructive to say as to what I did and didn't like about it, but I don't. All the elements were there for this to be a 4 or 5 star story, however on some level it just didn't grab me.
Just because I haven't given it 4 or 5 stars, don't let that put you off of reading this, after all I did like it. It is an interesting read and the subject matter (death) is handled well.
One Last Night by Laurel Ulen Curtis
4 stars
I didn't read the synopsis of this story before starting to read it, so didn't know what I was getting myself into. It was another one that I really didn't think I'd enjoy at the beginning. TBH the prologue was unnecessary, as it is repeated within the story almost word for word. Plus to me a prologue is for a bit of background to something that has taken place before the actual story itself. So having an excerpt from the story as a prologue was rather strange.
Anyways this ended up being a really fun story, and I'll definitely be looking out for other work by this author.
Hard to Handle by Ella Fox
3 stars
It was due to being a fan of Ella Fox that led me to buy this box set in the first place. I love the Hart series, and was excited to read some new stuff from her.
I liked this story, however I didn't love it. For me it just wasn't on the same level as her other work. Having said that, the subject of mental health is dealt with brilliantly, so major kudos to Ms Fox for that. I have mental health issues, so it was excellent to see it handled so well.
Since I finished reading this story a word has been on the tip of my tongue to describe some elements of it, and it's just come to me after I'd given up hope of remembering it, twee. I shouldn't compare it to the Hart series, but it just lacked the edginess that the Hart series has, and certain parts of the storyline did come across as twee.
Bottomline I liked this story and I'll definitely continue reading works by Ella Fox. If this was turned into a series I would read it as well.
I really enjoyed this box set! all of the authors did a wonderful job with their stories, I liked all of them, but Ella Fox's book and the first one in the book are the two I liked the most! 4.5 stars!
I loved this box set. This introduced me to new authors and series that I may not have ever found. Each story has a different flavor and each one was well written. I can't wait to read all the series around these.
I enjoy the box sets, out of the 11 books there were only 2 I didn't care for. Not that they were bad they just seemed rushed towards the end of the stories.
Loved the sexy, steamy novellas of some of my favorite authors. Quick read but totally worth it! Jacquelyn Ayres, Ella Fox and Tessa Teevan rocked it out of the park!
So far I've only read Ella Fox's Hard To Handle. It was a very short read but it was freaking awesome!!! So much happened in just those few chapters that you felt like it was this long novel. She is just that great of a writer that she can make her character's and the story flow and come together with so much in such a short time.
I only read the first 7 stories and while I initially wrote a quick review for each of them, I'm not posting them because overall this book did nothing more than frustrate me. Of the books I read, there wasn't one that stood out with even as much as a 3 star rating. Sad.
Wilder Ones - 5 stars The One - 2 stars Throw Caution to the Wind - 2 stars One Last Night - 4 stars Hard to Handle - 3.5 stars One Summer - 3 stars Savor Me - 3 stars Never wanted more - 3.5 stars Hold your horses - 4 stars Sweet Southern Sorrow - 4 stars Rock Country - 2 stars
Good short read. I love Ella Fox and will read anything she writes. Hard to Handle is different from her other book but still had a good storyline for a short novella.
