I enjoyed the first book and decided that I wanted to see where this was going to go. The vampire detective has become a bit of a cliché with several television shows with this type of character. The idea of the vampire atoning for his past sins by trying to bring criminals to justice. This is that but with a little criminal twist of its own.

Olivia now knows Jack's secret and seems to be perfectly fine with it. Jack is worried about whether or not it spells the end of their affair. In the meantime, Jack is under pressure as more murders get linked to his vampire vigilante alter ego. He does not have anything to do with the recent murders but must solve them in order to keep them from finding out about him.

Jack is weird and funny and very paranoid but wants to stay because he has fallen in love.

A reasonable book, wanted a little bit more romance

I did get into the story, it took a while the second book was a little dry. I wanted more romance.
