Nash and Nate have finished the task set before them by their hataali, and have set their foot on the path to healing. Neither one knows what to expect however, and Nash does have a few concerns about their future. But those will have to wait, as the tribal council has more important things for them to do when they get back to dealing with a bunch of organ-jackers who have been preying on the young women of several of the local tribes.
Then of course there's still the problem Nate's been having with the good folks of Raycon Corporation, who really want a look inside his head. After having removed it from his body of course. Having been gone for almost a month, he's hoping they've moved on, but only time will tell. Nate's also a little worried that Jin may have moved on, so he's very much looking forward to see her as soon as they get back to town.
Then of course there's Coyote, the trickster god who has very much taken an interest in Nate and Nash, as well as this little problem with the organ-jackers, which promises to make all of the outcomes very interesting.
I've had a very varied life. I grew up in New York, on Long Island. I went to school to become an Engineer, then joined the Air Force. After that I worked first in Robotics, then in Aerospace as a Flight Test Engineer. I moved into the medical fields, then into more Technical markets working for a number of high tech companies where I became a Contractor. I used to own and raise big cats. I love motorcycles and old cars. I'm a pilot and former martial arts instructor. I'm a fan of the Reno Air Races. Then there's the stuff I'm not supposed to talk about, but that's another story. I've seen a lot of interesting stuff go by, met a lot of interesting, wonderful, strange, or sometimes just psychotic people. I've had the opportunity to work on some truly game changing technologies. And while I've had some very bad things happen to me in my life, I've never let it stop me. Keep smiling. -John
Very entertaining read, like the first one. Has elements that remind me of the good Shadowrun tales, not just the magical cyberpunk world setting but the emphasis on friendship, examination of moral codes, and an undercurrent of tribalism. The only criticism I can come up with is probably more a reflection of my puritanical leanings, which was too much time spent on the convoluted sexual relations of the protagonist(s). Ive found one good sexual relationship is all that's sustainable, but maybe that's just me...
If you read as much as I do you are desperate for authors who deliver interesting characters, satisfying action and plots that have some variety. After all of this author's work that I have read Ghost Warrior has some new things and some familiar things and I look forward to the next installment.
I've never come across a bad book by Van Stry and this kept the trend going. I enjoyed the progress Nash and Nate made as well as the plot to wrap up the kidnappers. The growing relationships are by far the best part though and I can't wait to see where it all goes.
The author has a very good record maintaining interest in characters in his series. This is another series I’m eager to continue. This is a different post appocalyptic setting that I hope gets deeper. Well paced. Good action scenes of all types.
I really liked seeing the evolution of Nate and Nash. Honestly I didn't care about the sex other than glad it wasn't explicit. The whole mission from god when the god's Coyote was cool. They almost make a Blues Brothers in one body. Good read.
This book has been a fun read. I only bought it this morning, but it has held me tight, and I have finished it this evening. I now don't want to wait for the next because I am enjoying the series so much. Ahh, well. It's time to start book 1 over again.
Wonderful story with great characters! I love when an author can provide characters who tug your heart strings and grow. Give me a strong plot and consistent world rules and it's a delightful time. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I like this author's writing, but I didn't really connect with this one. I can understand why Nash was the way he was, but Nate was too hard to figure out. The story was interesting but again, didn't really connect with it.
What a great sequel to the first book, a good quick fun read. With just the right touch of richous anger and gore. I'll definitely pickup the next book.
Payback in Vegas. This is a curious mix of magic, tech, gods and power that somehow works. Nate and Nash start really making their own way in this adventure.
