A few issues
Truth time: sometimes I buy a book purely on vibes. This cover art gave me the vibes. That's right, I bought the book on the cover alone and went in blind. Imagine my shock when this book has NOTHING to do with cooking. I mean, sure, the MMC DOES take a cooking class (they showed him in class only twice and just briefly) and he does use the skills to cook for the FMC. But really, this book has nothing to do with cooking. But that isn't the only issue...
This was the fastest insta-love I think I've read in a book. After just 3 very brief encounters the MMC says he NEEDS this woman in his life. And the FMC isn't far behind him. It was just TOO quick.
My other issue was the Manny times the author would repeat phrases. Example (not from the book):
We went for a drive down the Washington bridge and the trees were beautiful... Blah, blah, blah...
While driving we turned down Washington bridge to see...blah, blah...
If it only happened once I would take it as a typo or poor editing. But there are several times it happens in the book which means it was a choice.
I did like the story though so I guess there's that.

Meh story
Romance level: open door at half way. Very fast to fall after one encounter the thoughts are just too teenage crush it's hard to enjoy. Very unrealistic in many ways. Like the friend group.
