Chilling and timely comparison with how MAGA's brainwashing of the America public (primarily using social media) tracks to historical examples of propaganda campaigns that resulted in the destruction of democracy and the murder of millions in Germany, Indonesia, Rwanda, Russia and elsewhere. The basis for Wald's analysis is Roger Muchielli's classic work, Psychologie de la publicite et la propagande - if you've never heard of Muchielli, read on...

Detailed Accounting of the Power of propaganda. The Appendix supports the factual basis for the history and specific methods that create undemocratic societies. Chilling to read how the US today is right from the propagandist's playbook. The enormity of the tools available in our current world is frightening. Thoroughly well written.
