Breed or Bleed #1

A Kiss to Heal

Rate this book
I'M AN OMEGA HEALER. DEDICATED AND POWERFUL.
Until a healing goes wrong, and I become an enemy of the state.

For those of us born with the gift, we work as healers at the most elite military academy in the country. I'm one of the best, until a treatment session with an important senior officer goes wrong, and I do the unthinkable - I take his power for myself.
Judged and sentenced to die on the war front, I assume my life is over. But instead, I'm smuggled into the most dangerous dorm on campus.
The only way to survive is to become one of the notorious traitors' sons who are hated and feared by everyone else in the school.
I've never been an omega who traded on her looks, but that doesn't mean I know how to dress like a man, act like a soldier, or how to survive living with five strange alphas. Travis Wake, the surly fighter; Lawrence Michaelson III, a playboy lord and legacy; the Locke twins, as different as night and day; and Cutter – the military secret haunting the attic. My only hope is to hide with them long enough to escape and assume a new life in the city.
Or at least that's the plan until I uncover the truth behind the devastating, fifty-year war. While I fall deeper and deeper for my misfit pack, our enemies are circling, and my window of escape is closing.
Now I need to decide if I leave the men who’ve given me refuge – and their hearts - or if stay at their side and fight for their freedom.
This is a slow-burn, new adult reverse harem, set in a war college with a misfit pack and a fmc who has “a kiss that can kill”! For fans of dress like a boy, forced proximity, and enemies to allies to lovers tropes.

Jane is a healer Omega. She believes in her profession. Until a healing goes wrong, and she becomes an enemy of the state. Judged and sentenced to die on the war front, she assumes her life is over. But instead, she is smuggled into the most dangerous dorm on campus.
The only way to survive is to become one of the students of Bleak House: the notorious traitors' sons who are hated and feared by everyone else in the school: Travis Wake, the surly fighter; Lawrence Michaelson III, a playboy lord and legacy; the Locke twins, as different as night and day; and Cutter – the military secret haunting the attic.

Not only she has to find a way to act like a man as Jack and deal with a bully while trying to fall for her five misfits (or six???), she uncovers the truth behind the devastating, fifty-year war.

I have loved everything about this book

The writing was excellent. With a touch of humor, the seriousness of the situation is not overshadowed by spice and smut. The author lets the course of the plot take its natural path.

"My lips quirk up, but as I head back to my soulless apartment, I have to wonder… Who’s the real prisoner here? The traitor or the heir?

"A girl dressed as a boy pretending to be a girl"

The storyline was clear
and the characters were very intriguing, each with their heartbreaking backstory.

I especially fell in love with Jane. She is not like the omegas we read in other books, you know, the ones where they are submissive and fall immediately for the lure of the Alphas. She is strong-willed and quick on her feet. She is also compassionate.

She quickly becomes "the healer" figuratively of their souls
"You have a way of patching us back together even when you're not trying to"

The magic system was nothing I have seen in an Omegaverse. Jane heals through "the healing kiss", an act, if lost control can suck the power of a person. She can also have a form of manipulation over a person with her kiss. But Jane is a very moral character and she is very careful with how she uses her power.

There is another power with one of the men, but I am not going to spoil it. Enjoy the suspense.

The plot is not just centered around the romance. There are political schemes and conspiracies.

My favorite moment was on P:222 "when she sees the Alpha she thinks he hates her badly injured and her first words are "who did this to you, Manson" 😍😍😍

That is why I love ARC reading.
I get to discover gems like this book😍😍😍😍😍😍

2.5 stars, rounded up because this was actually... very readable. Considering I DNF most of the random self-published books I download out of mild curiosity within the first 10% (especially for the academy/RH/omegaverse tropes, which attract a high number of mediocre authors) the fact that I actually finished this book is, honestly, high praise.

I'm especially surprised because the plot is a hot mess. In this universe, there are two kinds of omegas - breeders, who get the nests and packs and pop out kids - and bleeders, who can heal wounds with a kiss. Jane is the latter, so she does duty as a ward omega for a military academy hospital. Her life comes crashing down around her when she's ordered to heal the mate of a high-ranking officer, and the healing goes badly wrong. She's taken prisoner and when she wakes up, she's the newest inmate of Bleak House, a dorm on the academy campus housing traitors' sons. We have Travis, a hulking boxer; Drew, a charming playboy; his twin, nerdy Avery; and a mysterious figure known only as Cutter. Jane also falls in with Drew's friend Law, a high-ranking nobleman.

For reasons that are never actually explained, Jane has to be a student at the school, and to disguise her identity (again for vaguely explained reasons) she passes herself off as a boy. This is by far the poorest part of the book. Women are not just men with boobs and long hair... the fact that Jane apparently successfully fools most of the school into thinking she's a beta male (without even bothering to think about voice, posture, mannerisms, etc) is laughably unrealistic in a book that already has a plot strung together with the thinnest of threads.

Yet for all that, it was unexpectedly entertaining. It goes without saying that the technical prose is of good quality, otherwise the best characterisation/plot/romance in the world couldn't have kept me reading. There are moments of genuinely entertaining snark, and although most of the characters fall recognisably into very defined archetypes, Collins managed not to make them feel too trite.

Now, the romance is... on the weird side. Most of Jane's relationships with most of the men are surface level only, and they mostly all fall for each other very quickly with no real reasoning or thought behind it. Notice I keep saying mostly: there is one glaring exception to this. Jane has a lot of chemistry with one particular antagonist who - actually seemingly against the author's will, almost - looks like he'll be a harem addition, and I did NOT see that coming. Honestly, this relationship has so much chemistry that the book really ought to be rewritten as an MF bully romance, in which case I reckon it might get 4 stars. Even another character comments on how much deeper Jane's connection is with this guy than with the others. (I'm deliberately not naming him, because the blindsiding was actually very pleasant and my favourite part of the book was realising he was not just a throwaway villain).

Will probably read the sequel.

While this is not my usual style of book, I was willing to give it a shot as I typically like anything that Roxy Collins writes, especially if it's an omegaverse offering. In this world, omegas are either breeders or bleeders. Jane is a bleeder in the sense that she is a mercy. She is able to heal with a kiss. But when something happens during a healing, that changes the trajectory of Jane's life. She ends up at the Academy and must dress like a guy in order to survive. When the freaks in Bleak House help her after finding out her secret, what will happen?

Oh, you guys, one- it ends on a HUGE cliffhanger. As in, I'm going to be stalking to find out when A Kiss to Hurt (the second book) will be released. Two- I've fallen for all the guys in different ways. Travis- the overprotective alpha, Avery- the cute nerd (typically my favorite), his twin, Drew- the happy-go-lucky impulsive one, Law- the aristocrat, Cutter- the invisible one. Manson is even growing on me. Three- I absolutely love Roxy Collins's style of writing. The way she carefully crafts the relationships between the FMC and each of the MMCs is so well done.

I can't wait for more in this universe. I want to know MORE!!!!

After being teased with snippets for this new book we are finally able to read it.
I knew it was going to be something else, but Roxy has really outdone herself.
Jane is not your average omega and the world is a very interesting one.
Thought most of it plays at a warschool you get some insight on world dynamics and politics.
There’s more interesting abilities to discover and of course we have the usual character development and relationships building that I became te love from Roxy’s hand.
The ending was absolutely mind blowing and I cannot wait to read the rest.

A kiss to heal is the first book in the Breed or Bleed series and ends on a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed the academic setting and found Mason, Luke, and York intriguing. I'm eager to see how the characters develop and their stories unfold. I hope the next book delves deeper into character relationships.
While the story was occasionally confusing, particularly towards the end, it didn't significantly impact my overall enjoyment. I appreciate Why Choose romances, but this one felt a bit unbalanced. Travis seemed to dominate the narrative with more POVs and a more developed relationship with Jane. I hope future books explore the other boys more fully, especially Drew, who had minimal interaction with the main character.
What truly keeps me engaged is the mystery surrounding Lawrence, Mason, and Luke.

Ranking the Boys:
- Mason: I love the enemies-to-lovers trope, but I wish the tension between Mason and Jane was drawn out more.
- Lawrence: As the only Legacy, he's intriguing from the start. I want to know more about his family and his relationship with Drew.
- Luke Cutter: His mysterious past and powers make him the most fascinating character.

(I'm less interested in the other boys.)
- Travis: While he feels like the main character, his reasons for being so aren't entirely clear. I hope he undergoes significant character development beyond his relationship with Jane.
- Avery: He had his moments, but I didn't feel a strong connection to his character.
- Drew: The least explored character, I don't understand his motivations or care about his story.

A Kiss to Heal is the first book in the Breed or Bleed series and ends on a cliffhanger. The story will be continued in the next book.

First of all I have to talk about how stunning the cover is with its gold and purple colours! I loved the vibes it’s giving.

This book immediately dives into the deep end of danger; Jane is an omega healer. In this world omegas can only be ‘breeders’ or healers (mercies). I really liked that Jane genuinely cared about her patients.
She soon finds herself in danger when a healing gets complicated… which leads her to meet her misfit pack.

It did take me a while to warm to Jane because in this world being a healer is all that Jane can be so it feels like she had a suppressed personality at the very beginning.
I enjoyed watching her grow and finding out who she was beyond that. Jane battles with being a caring mercy and surviving this new harsh world she has found herself in. In the end, I loved how she kept that mercy side of her, but also used it to be protective of her pack, while learning to be fierce and badass.

She finds herself hiding in Bleak House with my poor Bleak House boys who are suffering because members of their family have betrayed the country.

Travis Wake who is so protective of Jane from the start.
The Locke twins who had me instantly on their side. Drew and Avery are hard not to love.
But Luke Cutter is my favourite, not just MMC but character. I am claiming him, he must be protected at all costs!
Then you have Law Michaelson who is a Lord, but is just as trapped as the Bleak boys. His charm will make you melt.
Levi Manson was probably my least favourite, but I eventually loved him (it took a while). Him being jealous and protective was both hot and hilarious.

These boys are all so different, yet so devoted to Jane.

This is a slow burn, with little heat, but Roxy Collins edges up with so much sexiness and chemistry and tension. I mean the shower scene, the pack scene, the Law moments?! These spicy scenes are hot and totally worth the wait, but still Collins teases us!
“But right now, I feel like a queen.” - Jane, I would feel like a queen having those four hot alphas worshipping me! 😍🔥 I need more spicy goodness of Law and Drew together next book.

The descriptions of the powers gave me chills sometimes. And I loved the sweet pool moment in all the darkness. Honestly the suspense, the mystery, the plot - Collins aced it.

There are some antagonists in this book that you will hate with a fiery passion. I need to mention Trapshot (a ruthless original sport) which is both horrifying and intriguing.

I have so many theories, so many different little puzzle pieces came together towards the end for it to then be blown apart!

The ending!!!!! Ahh! What? I am a mess! Screaming, crying and needing more! First, I don’t know how to process the horror of some information and I don’t even have time to acknowledge how absolutely furious I am at some horrible psycho villains before everything goes wrong.
But the ending felt very full circle and perfectly painful. I can’t wait for more Jane, Travis, Drew, Avery, Law, Luke, Manson, and maybe two other MMCs? 👀

This book contains triggering content such as violence, some bullying (only one MMC partakes in this), parental abuse (on page to one of the MMCs), mention of injuries and death (this is a war college book), hints to experimentation/ torture.

I am…confused by the extremely high rating this book has (4.45 at the time I read it).

I love both “Omegaverse” and the “disguises as a boy trope” so was looking forward to this. Unfortunately, the story, pacing, and characters were all over the place and I had to push myself to finish this.

Below is a summary of the book, but here are some highlights in case you don’t want to read the rest:

✅ Fantasy
✅ Omegaverse
✅ Girl disguised as boy trope
✅ Well written

⚠️ Confusing story, conflicting information
⚠️ Low spice (mostly kissing. They get to 3rd base by the end but that’s it)
⚠️ Instalove without any reasonable explanation
⚠️ Plot holes 🕳️

Below a summary (that’s just as all over the place as the book):

———————-

We’re introduced to Jane, who is a “mercy” (an omega who can heal with a kiss) working at a hospital within a military academy, and after she *intentionally* nearly kills someone (I add this because in the description it says, “a healing gone wrong” so I went into this full of righteous indignation on her behalf, then deflated quite dramatically when I realized that she made the choice that got her in trouble) she is sentenced to be shipped to the front lines of a war, but instead ends up routed to one of the dorm houses where sons of traitor alphas are being held.

What follows is a convoluted story. There is instalust/love between Jane and the alphas, which is never properly explained. There’s no “fated mates,” no alpha recognizing an Omega and immediately just wanting to protect her, just this weird insta-relationship that I didn’t understand at all. The story then jumps around so many different POV’s that I couldn’t keep track of any of the MMC’s. Then a good 80% of the book is just Jane attending classes disguised as a boy (and not truly explained how/why that was necessary). She gets roped into playing on the team of this made up game (the rules of which I still don’t understand—why would you arm students with knives and have them slash each other up?) and so many random facts and events are thrown into the mix that I completely lost the plot.

This all takes place in the period of basically 2 weeks. Throw into the mix that there’s this war ongoing based on what is supposed to be this top secret cover up the government did 50 YEARS AGO (but for some reason no one can remember what it used to be like even though that should be within living memory??)…I just can’t.

There are 2629482538 plot holes and storylines introduced in the last 15% of the book and then a giant cliffhanger right in the middle of the action.

Even that cliffhanger is not enough to get me to read the second book though.

Roxy Collins knocks it outta the patk yet again! The amount of world building and arrangement in the plot makes this not your typical RH that's just down and dirty. Sometimes chemistry is everything and these characters got it! I can't wait for book 2! This cliffy is killing me.

**I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this novel for review**

Look, the top of the review is going to be this statement: Roxy's books get better with every one she writes. And I am so, so glad this story is a series rather than a standalone.

In this militaristic, Omegaverse fantasy world, there are elements of what we know about the Omegaverse, and yet elements that are completely new. The addition of 'magical' qualities played off really well, and really gave this omega universe a unique spin.

It's looking like there are going to be six love interests in the pack for this series, and we got just enough of all of them to be intrigued in this first novel. And because there are still future books to go, none of the relationships feel rushed or lacking. They are all in a really good starting place, with tons of potential to continue to grow as we move into the next parts of the story.

All of the characters feel like they have a lot of layers without competing in the Trauma Olympics™️ every other page. They have organic problems and history that play into how they move through the world. I will say that I wish we had a little bit more of Jane's back story. We don't really get a lot about her character beyond her healing past, and I think I would have liked just a few more tidbits to flesh her character out even more for this first novel.

The romance and spice were great. Roxy never really has an issue with those aspects in my opinion.

This is definitely more of a slow burn, but I think considering this is supposed to be a series with such a large pack, that's totally fine. Again, it just makes everything feel organic and gives it room to breathe.

Plot-wise, this book is very focused on Jane's escape from the academy and little else. I think that works fine, although there is some stuff about Jane looking for secret info that I think could have been fleshed out a little better. I rolled with it, but there was a certain feeling about it that made it seem like it came out of nowhere/it wasn't super clear what her motivations were for wanting to find and distribute the secret info. It kinda came across as solely "For the Plot", but I think it could have been more intriguing/engaging for readers if the author had just dug into Jane's feelings regarding the secret info more. I think this info is also going to come into play with the rebellion, so really understanding Jane's personal motivations prior to that would make this story even better.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, and feel super #blessed to have been able to read it early. The cliff-hanger ending is definitely a cliff-hanger, and it makes me wish the second book was already out. But alas, we must wait.

* 6 stars

I've enjoyed almost every book written by this author so far, but the books that reach "best of last year" status for me, are always those that are part of a series. It's as if she manages to push all my buttons with these books, and gives me exactly what I crave while reading. "A Kiss to Heal" is one of those books and I loved it from start to finish! Just be aware this is one of those books where you absolutely detest everything that pulls you away from reading just one more page.

The plot development of this academy omegaverse is truly awesome; there is so much happening and with every new layer to the story that's being revealed, I only crave more. I also have lots of questions about the number of males we met so far, and who have the potential to become a part of Jane's future pack. Seriously, this has the potential to become the biggest harem this author has ever written about. And all of them have something that makes me hope and cross my fingers they will find a way to stay with her.

I know there are a lot of readers out there who avoid series-starters because of the cliffhangers, and even though there definitely is one, I swear it's totally worth it to start this series as soon as possible. It's so good, I really hope the second book will be there quickly.

Im going o be honest I just finished this book for my mason/Jane crumbs. The way she had more chemistry with him than the whole harem combined? Tbh the author should have focused more on developing the enemeis to lovers between those two and gotten rid of the rh as a whole (maybe not cutter he was kinda interesting). I’m not really rooting for Travis/drew/ Avery/ Lex ? (sorry forgot his name) though. I hate fast burn romances with a passion especially when the mmcs don’t even have a reason to ride so hard for the fmc yk? At least with mason there was build up and a connection.

Even more pitiful was Jane‘s “disguise” as a male. There is no way that no one suspected anything….like come on shaving your head and binding your breasts will not make you pass as a man there should have been more effort tbh. She’s surrounded by soldiers and highly trained officials but somehow they don’t see/smell that she’s a girl/omega? Girl I know men are fooled easily but don’t piss me off now. I swear I laughed at the fanart jump scare at the end cause there is just no way that she passed as Jack lmao!!

Anywayyyyyy will still read the second book cause the plot is all over the place so Idk who she’ll end up with. Fingers crossed that the author will make the harem member have a villain arc so she can drop them for good.

Omegaverse? More like oh-my-god-iverse... amirite?

I picked this up thinking I’d test the omegaverse waters and instead inhaled this book like it was laced with serotonin. I thought I was signing up for light scent-based flirting and maybe a possessive growl or two. What I got was a kiss-powered healer named Jane and a house full of emotionally complicated men who immediately adopted her like she was a stray kitten with trauma.

Jane is an omega — soft, capable, and constantly patching people up with her lips (professionally). Her job is literally “mercy,” which is both sweet and unhinged. The guys? A whole pack of walking tropes and I mean that lovingly. Travis is the protective alpha, Drew flirts like it’s his full-time job, Avery is the nerdy twin with a guilt complex, Law is a sunshine rich boy, and Cutter is... in the attic. Just up there. Lurking. And somehow still compelling???

The plot starts off at a trot and then gallups. Around 72% in, we’re suddenly uncovering state (?not sure it's an actual state.. region? province?) secrets and dealing with generational trauma like it’s Tuesday. I wasn’t expecting it, but I wasn’t mad about it either.

There is talk of mating claims, but it’s more of a “we might be soul-tied and emotionally doomed” thing than a magical bite-on-the-neck situation. No scent bonds. No insta-mates. Just vibes, soft touches, and escalating emotional damage.

Five stars for catching me off guard in the best way.

Hold on to your hats! Or your knives, crossbows and all of your weaponry! This book will take you on an adventure the likes of which you have never seen (or read)!

Jane is an omega healer at a college when her talents are demanded for healing the mate of General York. Yes, she saves his mate but squelches most of the life out of York in the process.

As punishment, she is knocked out with drugs, head shaved, and locked in a box shipped to the residence of the relatives of traitors, where she begins her new path in life, living as Jack, a relative of the hated Cutter family.

This book will introduce you to characters you could never imagine and to a world at war with no end in sight. Yet our girl Jane, living undercover as a boy named Jack, finds a way to love and heal this group of emerging alphas.

Jane finds these young men and chooses them carefully to someday make them her pack. Does she succeed? We won’t know because our dear Roxy leaves us hanging on a cliff that is slipping out from under our feet!!!

Absolutely read this book and thank me later💕

This reverse harem, academia, omegaverse book was so much fun to read. It is full of intrigue and romance. There is little world building but the character development is great. I’m giving this free and volunteer review after receiving an advance reader’s copy. Jane is a mercy, a woman who heals by kissing her patients, during which time her powers are transferred into the patient which heals or alleviates their pain. She is called to service a major in the United Armed Front of the Civin States in his barracks. She was expected to heal his beta/mate who had been poisoned when injured during combat with the Vistria nation. When things go awry Jane needs to take things into her own hands to save herself. Her fate is later determined by the major and she is whisked off to Bleak house, a dorm on the Sentinel college campus. From there she meets an eclectic group of alpha males and the intrigue continues. This book leaves off on a cliffhanger which keeps you wanting more.

I really enjoyed this book and gave it a 4.5 ⭐️ rating overall with a rating of 2 on the spicy scale. Book two is due out next year, A Kiss to Hurt sounds amazing and I look forward to reading it. I highly recommend A Kiss to Heal.

I've read a couple of this author's books and I'm a fan. This book doesn't feel like any of her books I've read before, which is not a bad thing. Although this book ends on a cliffhanger (be warned), I don't mind because I have faith that this author will give me a good ending. I was sucked into the dystopian world that she built and the characters in it. As the story progressed, the judgments I made about some character's were challenged. I like this as it keeps me engaged and guessing. I can't wait to see what happens to all these characters in the next book!

3.5 ⭐️/1 🌶️—This is remarkably hard to review because it was readable and entertaining but the plot was weird, the world building was pretty vague, and the romance was sort of lackluster. It’s an omegaverse where all omegas are categorized by their function. It’s set in a war college preparing Alphas and Betas to fight against the enemy (alphas who have somehow grown claws…? This is never explained). The FMC is an omega who can heal with a kiss, but the strength of her power seems to pack an extra punch? There was very little showing or telling. Things that were central to the world were sort of mentioned in passing.

I love Academy/College setting books anfrhis one definitely delivered. This book is a twist on the traditional Omegaverse books but I loved the setting & the building of the relationships between the FMC & MMCs. All the MMCs were diverse & interesting in there own right. It was a little slow to get into the story & i’m very interested in how many love interest Jane will have.

If you love:
🔸Omegaverse
🔸Academy Romance/ War College
🔸Slow Burn
🔸Why Choose
🔸FMC hidden as a boy
🔸Forced Proximity

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Spice: 🌶️

I received the book as an ARC.

Spicy, reverse harem, multiple point of view (mostly female lead), fantasy (omegaverse) romance. I just adore the girl undercover as a boy trope (I blame Mulan!). This is well written and easy to read. Though I found parts confusing I did enjoy reading it. There is a lot of teasing in the spice department but the chemistry is off the charts. A kiss to Heal ends on a cliffhanger and will be continued in A Kiss to Hurt and I'm looking forward to reading it. I received a copy in advance and am leaving a review of my own accord.

So much better than I anticipated!! I swear that Roxy Collin’s always amazes me with her creative and imaginative storylines! Who would have thunk this would be a turn OV would take!?!? Oh how I love me some Jane!! And all her guys!! Even Manson! Because of course he’s gonna have to be hers!! And that ever elusive Luke!! I’m so caught up in him and he only had a few paws in the entire book!! I’m so invested, like I am with all of Roxy’s books.. cannot wait for the next book in the series. Happy reading friends!

Totally alluring was the healing power, of these Mercy Omegas wow! I felt the healing scenes were hotly charged and tensioned so well.

Might be a cliffy but the character art of Manson and Jane is perfection. So I have no complaints.

the ink was perfectly lilthe with dark surly Academia Omegaverse.

Yep I'm hot for more.

Okay… Nope not okay, I am definitely not okay. First of all I love this universe already. This cliffhanger is too much though.

I love Roxy her books. I couldn't put down the book and was unsure if I wanted to end or never wanted to end. There where some minor details that where weird but they didn't bother me.

I need the next book thats all I know.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I’m not a massive fan of academic settings in books, but I knew I would enjoy this one! Omegaverse, war school and omega in hiding? Yes pls! The world is so interesting, I don’t think all the guy got the same amount of playtime and focus but it’s also the first books so I’m sure that’s coming. It wasn’t very spicy (for an omegaverse) but more focused on the plot, which I highly enjoyed. Can’t wait for the next book!

A slow burn omegaverse with so many twists and turns, I couldn't put it down! Jane has a healing kiss...or does she?! 😏 One things leads to another and she ends up at the Bleak House full of Alphas. They help her in every way as she figures out what to do. This book was sooo good! What a ending!!

I was blessed enough to read an ARC of this book.

I don’t even know what to say about this book besides WOW! I love everything Roxy writes, but this book just takes it even higher while differing from her other books. I am anxiously awaiting the remainder of this story. This is not your "typical" omegaverse book. Trust me, you MUST read this book.

Builds up to a good ending

Around the halfway point, I almost gave up on this book entirely. It's a very stuttery beginning, action followed by excessive details, wrapped up in improbability (50 years is within living history. Some societal details would still be recognized and anger inducing at that stage. How does second Gen not know what happened to their parents/grandparents?). Then around page 240 I felt like things started moving and getting more adventurous but then realized book 1 means cliffhanger. Doozy of a cliffhanger, not a second FMC in the series but a second book for Jane. It's unfortunate because as much as I like Travis and Jane, I'm not enamored with the story right now and I'm not sure I want to read on. Honestly, this is a gift for me with Roxy Collins; I usually consume her books like air because they're so good.

That said, If you're looking for a complex fantasy universe and are willing to read multiple books this might be one for you. It has rare moments of humor that I love from the author's other books (but RARE in this one). It has a pretty bada$$ FMC and one MMC that I adore (a bunch of other guys have potential but need to step up).

This is just another great story by Roxy, I just love her books so much. It feels incredibly different and very new. It was a nail biter, very nerve wrecking at times, much more towards the end. Let me tell you, that cliffhanger, i need the second right now. I need to know what happens next. I need know if they find each other because they belong together pretty please, I need them all to be okay. My heart would break if something happened to any one of them.

Thank you for this incredible story Roxy, for giving us something so cool, someone so cool as Jane, a real force to be reckoned with. She is such a boss, like this woman is insane, I love her. And I love her band of misfits even more. They really are perfect for each other. What a beautiful story, one that has me by the throat.
