JUST SOO GOOD! There are not enough stars to show you how much I loved this one.

As this author said, this book has been in the making for years, and a devotee to this multi-book, multi-year storyline, it was very fulfilling to get into this one. The emotions and angst around Nix, his past, and his present situations was a pulse-pounding adrenaline ride that I could not get enough of, and I finished this book in one sitting, wishing there were more chapters!

Without spoiling any bit of this - I will tell you to read Paragon first. Don't pick this one up with out doing so. Secondly, it is in your BEST interest to have consumed the Alpha Elite series before this one, as there are SO many layers to the characters (that show up here that you should already know) to make this read the fantastic one it is! Dropping back into this world of characters that live rent free in my heart was unbelievably easy, and I enjoyed every second!!
The emotions in this book sent me on a rollercoaster ride - one with big heights and deep falls, full of shock, tears, and empathy - as these characters deal with immeasurable heartaches and tragic past events that shape how they function in the world. The way the chapters flow together makes it easy to be swept up in the dangerous world these operatives function in, and I cannot wait for the next in this series.

Be sure to read the acknowledgements for a richer experience in the intent, emotions, and foundation of this author. I am a devoted supportive fan of this author and her creativity, and thank you Sybil, for sharing your talents and heart with us. xoxo

I received an ARC (thank you) and happily leave my thoughts.

I needed some time to process upon finishing.

Because at its core, this book is about the way decades of trauma from people who are supposed to love and protect you weigh on you for your whole life. How it can change who you are as a person and hollow you out if you let it. It explores how trauma can make someone act in ugly and hurtful ways and how it can also drive them to the most incredible, selfless, and loving action.

I'll be honest with you, there were times when Phoenix was not likable. Times when I had a lot of trouble having empathy for him because of his behavior. But that's the thing about trauma and a decade of grief- it’s ugly, and sometimes it manifests in ugly ways. But for all that I struggled to empathize with Phoenix, when it mattered most, really, really mattered, he stepped up and went above and beyond.

I liked Isla, I loved her attitude and her kindness despite her horrific upbringing. I wish we got to see more of Phoenix and Isla building trust with each other because boy, did these two have parents who did a number on them. They did have undeniable chemistry, but I would have liked to see more of the deep conversations with them to see them leaning on each other more. Though I feel that if I got all the conversations I wanted to see between these two, we would have needed two more books because these two had so much to unpack.

Also, if Phoenix and Isla's parents have no haters, check the obituaries, because I'm dead.

Overall, this emotional rollercoaster was a hell of a start to a new series. It answered a lot of questions, posed even more, and introduced us to some titillating characters I can’t wait to see more of.

I received an ARC, read in bed until I fell asleep, and dropped my Kindle on my face, finished it the next morning, processed, and wrote this here review.

Phoenix, the second book in Sybil Bartel's Paragon Operations series, is a captivating read that continues the story of Phoenix, previously known as Bravo in the Alpha Elite Series. It is recommended to read Paragon first to fully understand Phoenix's character.

The book is filled with twists, turns, and surprises that will keep you engaged from start to finish. The story follows Phoenix, his team, and Isla, a strong character who has faced many challenges in her life.

As Phoenix navigates his own past traumas and plans for the future, the plot unfolds with suspense and intrigue. The book also introduces other members of Paragon, hinting at future storylines to look forward to. The laugh-out moments the story gave us made the story even more enjoyable.

We adored the characters in the book; they were fun, interesting, and intriguing, making us laugh. Isla stood out as a great character, loved with her witty banter, smart mouth, and sense of humour. Nix, when he tried to assert his dominance, was sexy as all get out. Fanning over here is undeniably sexy.

The chemistry between Isla and Nix was off the charts hot. sizzling, and we loved them as a couple. Talk about a mysterious character, Isla's brother Wolf was one who intrigued us the most. We loved getting to know more about Isla and Nix, and after hearing their stories, Isla's brother, Wolf, was a mysterious character who piqued our interest.

As we learned more about Isla and Nix, we discovered they have a lot in common. The only thing we can say about the commonality is that the common thread is their parents' having failed them both. It was refreshing to see a range of emotions portrayed by all the characters.

Overall, Phoenix is a compelling read that immerses you in Sybil Bartel's world. For a complete experience, it is recommended to explore her other series as well. Don't miss out on this thrilling and well-crafted story!

This story was so well written. I’ll try not to give anything away, but we still have our strong female lead, Isla, who’s giving Phoenix a run for his money, and now Lincoln joins the mix. At first, I didn’t like Phoenix because of how he treated Isla, but eventually, Sybil, the author, brought everything together. Phoenix comes to truly see Isla. He understands the background that shaped her, respects the choices she’s made, and recognizes that they’ve both survived trauma beyond their control. They’re survivors, and I love how he shows her they’re stronger together—and how his “Plan” ultimately strengthens them too.
We have the plan that Phoenix had been working on for months. I loved how he and Lincoln met and the truth of who they are to each other. I thought about the author’s son when we read about Lincoln’s gift for music, having endured so much in his 15 years. The fact that he became such an incredible musician is a credit to God, the universe, or whatever you believe in—something to hold onto when life brings so much pain, showing that God had a plan. I also loved that Isla’s brother, Wolf, appeared several times in the book, and we finally learn the connection and the reason she has mostly been a loner.
This book is all about family, including those working for Paragon, AES, and others. I loved Alpha Adam Trefor, his wife Malia, Talerico, and all the former Navy SEALs, troopers, and marines who became private contractors for various security companies in Florida. It had everything—angst, sadness, moments of happiness—and was so well written. It’s one of the best because it touched on so many societal issues in one story. I truly loved this amazing book, and it answered several questions from the Alpha Elite series.

5/5 Stars!!!! Phoenix Has All the Heat & All The Feels!!

I adored this book for so many different reasons!

I love Isla, the main FMC. She is incredibly strong, and I deeply admire her approach to life. Phoenix is still an unimaginable mix of lethality, competence, and dominance. Except in this book, he doesn’t restrain any of that! We get the full scope of this man now, and Isla and Phoenix are even more explosive together in his book!!

But more importantly, Phoenix sees Isla. He understands the background that forged her. He respects the choices she’s made in her life. He knows they have both lived through trauma outside of their control. They’re both survivors, and I love how he shows her that they’re stronger together, and how his “Plan” ultimately strengthens them too.

Because I don’t want to share spoilers, I won’t say too much, but the plan that Phoenix has been working towards was my very, very favorite part of the book!!! I loved it so much, and I would give 5/5 Stars just for that aspect alone.

I wish we could’ve had a whole series about these characters, but considering how much is going on, I thought this book was woven perfectly.

This novel simultaneously navigated a relationship between characters who had suffered immense trauma, explored how complex relationships can heal, and launched a new series (which I’m so excited about!!). And speaking of these new Paragon men—omg!! I loved the little glimpses that we get of Phoenix’s team members, and I am eagerly awaiting their stories!

5/5 Stars!! I LOVED it!!

Phoenix has arrived! Sybil Bartel has hit a definite home run with the second book of her new series Paragon Operations! We first meet Phoenix as Bravo in Sybil’s Alpha Elite Series in Seal and Alpha. He resurfaces in Paragon, the first book in Paragon Operations, along with the FMC, Isla. I highly suggest reading Paragon first, it just means that Phoenix will make more sense. If you really want the background, you need to read ALL of Sybil’s books – they really are fabulous!

The twists, turns, and plot surprises will keep you mesmerized through the entire book (ask me – I was still reading at 3:00 AM!) This world of Sybil’s lives rent free in my head – you feel immersed in her world.

A little about the book itself – you meet Phoenix, his team, and Isla. Isla has an incredible look on life and has survived a lot in her life. Phoenix is realizing that he has also survived trauma in his life – even though he didn’t maybe see it that way in the beginning. Phoenix develops a plan for his life and works to put that plan in place. . . .will the plan work? Will Phoenix get what he deserves in life, will his father keep control from the grave?

Within all this, you get glimpses of other members of Paragon (something to look forward to in future books) and how they each have their strengths. I will reiterate – while you are reading Phoenix and then waiting for the next book, go back and read (at the least!) her Alpha Elite series! You will NOT be disappointed.

Absolutely enthralling from start to finish.
Because of that, except for restroom breaks, I read this one straight through because I HAD to know what was going to happen: to the MMC, MFC as well as in the plot.
This is one of those reader delight books: one where the smooth superb writing swirls you so DEEP into the enthralling plot you forget time and reality as you are submerged into the story.
I found the characters and plot unfolding before me, never full answers at one time but tempting teasing peeks that began to layer together to paint a picture.
Make no mistake, this one is superb; excellent writing, a mesmerizing plot that kept me fully immersed from beginning to end, characters that fascinated me as well as kept me totally engaged and invested. Characters I cared about, that I worried about, that I WANTED to have something good happen to and for them.
Do you want a book to disappear into? That has excellent emotionally grabbing characters within a mesmerizing plot? Danger, excitement, sizzle. suspense, mystery, tension?
Well, this one has all that and more.
I loved it and cannot wait for the next one.

Paragon Operations. The new obsession from Sybil Bartel

I knew before I started reading Paragon and then Phoenix that this new series was going to be lit in the best possible ways. Sybil Bartel has unique writing style that grabs you from the first paragraphs and doesn’t let you go until the final words. Every story, every series, every dominant AF Alpha is his own brand of dominance in and out of the bedroom. Sybil’s attention to detail on the big boys toys in her books leads you down a winding path of discovery as you can
actually look up that plane, that helicopter, that yacht and everything in between.
Once again Sybil Bartel has woven an intricate web of brotherhood, lives lived and a world where past and present collide with passion, heat and explosive results. Where the man always gets his woman every way he can and she gets all she deserves and more.
This series is set to explode.
I know a great book when I read one. The ones where I rush through because I have to know…then immediately re read it all.
Im so excited for this new series. Highly recommend.

📚Review ~ Phoenix
Paragon Operations #2
🖋Author ~ Sybil Bartel
🖋Features: Military Romance, Romantic Suspense
⭐️Rating: 5/5

Operator. Agent. Tertia Optio. The Phoenix has risen and is reclaiming his life.

Phoenix: Two months ago, I never could’ve predicted the text that’d come through on my old number or the subsequent fallout that upended my life. This was why I’d come home. Backup. Family. Trust. The one place in the world that could be my safety net. I needed it.

Another phenomenal work from Sybil Bartel. The way she weaves the interacies of her characters is nothing short of intense. Intensely emotional, intensely physical, intensely descriptive. This evolution brings together so many little nudges from other Operators. I highly recommend starting this from the beginning with The Uncompromising Alphas Series first, and then The Alpha Elite Series next, to better understand the connections between these highly skilled Operators.

Phoenix is a delicate balancing act of a man reconciling a past he'd never wanted, a present that he was struggling to make right, and a future that was almost within his grip.

Phoenix continues to build on what we learned about Isla and Phoenix in Paragon….which definitely left me wanting more. I love a sassy, funny FMC, and Isla has it in spades. She’s also vulnerable and has built walls 10 miles high thanks to her upbringing, and the life her family lives. She’s taken her life into her own hands and is exploring the world, wanting desperately to be a free spirit, but really not able to let herself. Phoenix is our favorite type of dominant alpha that Sybil writes so well. He’s going through his own odyssey, and carving out a new life for himself as well. Isla and Phoenix are two souls on parallel paths and they were really destined to merge.

I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for Phoenix - it’s my most anticipated book of the year for sure. Phoenix DELIVERED! HOLY COW! Phoenix set the stage for the Paragon Operations series. I can’t wait to read the next..and the one after that…and on and on. Sybil is a master at weaving stories together and this series is going to her best yet!

Decades of trauma come to a head in Phoenix, the second book from Sybil Bartel’s Paragon Operations series. First of all, you need to read the first book in the series, actually, just read the others that have come before Phoenix, you won’t be disappointed.

Sybil has done it again, created an intricate web of brotherhood in a world where past and present collide with explosive results. The angst, turmoil, and emotion I experienced as the storyline unfolded before my very eyes had me enthralled from start to finish. I knew this book was going to be good, but I underestimated just how good it was. Phoenix was truly an exceptional read. Sybil Bartel keeps these men coming, each one even better than the previous; however, Phoenix is in a league of his own. Honestly, I can't see how she’s going to top him, but I'm excited to see what lies ahead for the series.

Phoenix (Paragon Operations Book 2)
Sybil Bartel

Phoenix is an intense, emotional, and gripping romantic suspense that pulled me in from the first chapter.
Isla is such a great FMC, strong, smart, and resilient despite everything she’s survived. Phoenix is lethal, dominant, and completely unapologetic, and in this book we finally see all sides of him. What I loved most is how deeply he understands Isla. He sees her past, respects her choices, and recognizes the survivor in her because he’s one too.
Their chemistry is explosive, but the emotional layers make the story even better. Both characters carry decades of trauma, and the book shows how painful, and healing, those journeys can be.
The plot, the danger, the twists, and especially Phoenix’s “plan” made this impossible to put down.
A powerful start to a new series, and I can’t wait for what comes next.

Very grateful to the author for my copy , opinions are my own

If you have read any of my reviews on books from this author, you know I have read all of her books. This one, THIS ONE!! Oh my, what a story! And just a little note, READ PARAGON first before this one, you will understand WHY!

The Characters in this story are freaking amazing... I wish they were real people, I would love to meet them all! Anyway, the depth of this story had me rereading certain parts again, before I even finished that chapter. Not because I didnt understand where the story was going but because it blew my mind how in depth and detail this story was and with each page flip it got better and better and better. Have you ever started a book, and did not want it to end? THIS IS THAT BOOK!!! I am probably going to re-read both Paragon AND Phoenix again soon.

If you have read any of Ms. Bartel's books you KNOW you will not be disappointed. Counting the days to the next book in this series!!

This book has love, loss, and devotion at it heart. Yes, there is the intensity of the warrior class and the dangers into which they throw themselves, but there is also the incredible thread of emotion that has its roots in an indescribably deep love. I loved the action and the characters. Each of the men has that stamp of commitment to duty and to protecting others, while also having prickly natures that serve to provide some elements of humour. Isla is amazing. Independent, brave, feisty, fearless, and incredibly empathetic and kind. Will, Maila, Isla, and Wolf have all had horrendous childhoods, which has given the spines of steel and the ability to face adversity and take it on face to face. I loved them. And Lincoln. Beautiful, beautiful boy. Sybil has written a wonderful, special human being. Thank you for having the courage to share him with us.
An excellent addition to this and wider series. Fabulous 💖💖💖💖💖

Sybil Bartel just keeps raising the bar with her alpha males, and Phoenix proves it. This new series does not disappoint. I love the subtle connections to the Alpha Elite world. No spoilers, but all those breadcrumbs Sybil has been dropping finally snap together like perfect puzzle pieces once you dive into this book.

Phoenix is a whole new level of dominance, the kind that sends shivers down your spine in the best way. His chemistry with his heroine is scorching hot, and I loved watching her challenge him every step of the way. Their dynamic? Absolutely electric.

Just when I thought I had the plot figured out, Sybil threw in a twist I never saw coming. There is nothing “basic” about this series starter. If Phoenix is how she’s opening this world, then we are truly in for a ride.

Hot. Sizzling. Addictive. RUN, don’t walk, to grab this one.

Sybil Bartel keeps you guessing for most of the first part of Phoenix. She interweaves twists, turns and surprises before finally revealing the motives for Phoenix to "come back from the dead." Both Phoenix and Isla are remarkable characters. He's everything she shouldn't want and she's everthing he doesn't need but that doesn't seem to put a halt to the stronfg attraraction and desire arcing through them. As others have said you really need to have read Paragon first as it sets Phoenix up pefectly. Several other members of Paragon Security are interwoven into the story and give you just enough of a taste to make you want to know more about them. Also familiar faces from the Alpha Elite series appear and serve in making an outstanding book even better.

Phoenix pulls you in right at the beginning and keeps you hooked until the end. I always love this author's books, and this one definitely didn't disappoint. We get to spend a lot of time with Isla and Phoenix together and I absolutely loved that even after the suspenseful and dangerous aspect to their situation was over, we are still getting to see them together and working through things. Usually we don't get so much time with the couple as a couple together, and I was so happy to have that here. We also deal with some dark and difficult topics and emotions and I love how well this author handles all of those. I can't wait now for the rest of the books in the series!

Another fantastic book by Sybil, I devoured this within a day- nothing could stop me finishing this book!

I don’t now how Sybil comes up with these stories, the stormy line is so complex and utterly fascinating. Phoenix was easily up there for me for one of my favourites, his life was so complex. He was something else!

This book had all my emotions, spice- oh my there was plenty! Questions- yes I had many! Comedy moments- yes we had them too! I’m so looking forward to seeing Helios battle his emotions!

Another stunning book that’s left me desperate for the next one!

This took a bit to get into, just like the prequel there was confliction and confusion but the pieces start slowly coming together that started to change.
By the time I hit halfway I couldn't put it down.
All the moving pieces were very carefully and cleverly put together that made initial reservations completely worth it.
Once you get to know this couple and their stories (side kicks and all) you'll fall in love.
This ended up being a great way to kick off the series and I'm intrigued for more.

To say this was an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement because Sybil Bartel put me through the wringer.

Phoenix was both a lovable and complex character rolled into one but I can’t fault him for the choices he made with the information he had. I really enjoyed the fact that the author didn’t shy away from showing the ugly bits of Isla and Phoenix’s relationship with their fathers and how it made them into the people they are today. This was a good follow up to Paragon, I loved the introduction to the new cast and can’t wait to see what adventure we will go on next with them!

Wow! How to even begin. This has got to be my favorite book of Sybil Bartel. Candle will always have my heart, but this storyline is incredible. This was written with so much heart and tenderness. And for an Alpha male in one of her stories, that says a lot. This book however, could not have been more perfect. I cannot even imagine what the rest of the series will be like. Thank you for this incredible story and I look forward to the rest of the series.

Fantastic book

I have to say Isla is now my new favorite character she is smart, funny, and so vulnerable but it doesn't interfere with how she lives her life. I felt kinda sorry for Nix with everything he had to deal with and the raw deal he was dealt but he handled it so well. I loved the storyline of this book and the new characters that were introduced I really hope Legend gets his own book as well I can't wait for the next book.

Isla and Nix

Oh wow, this book was so good! I loved every single thing about this book and could not put it down. I loved the intertwining of Isla and Nix's pasts/ lives, with elements of both kismet and synchronicity. Sybil is so talented, I absolutely love her writing, and she can emotionally trigger me, sometimes with just a single word. In this case, "Pact." This is an excellent book!

Phoenix (Paragon Operations Book 2)

Loved it…as always the tensions between all parties was off the charts. Phoenix, Wolf, Alpha all had an agenda then enter Phoenix son Lincoln, his sister married to Alpha, the love of his life and it is nail biting stress. Only Sybil can write a story where you don’t know if the characters are going to kiss or kill each other and more out of left field surprises never in the world expected!

Phoenix reminds me of the bird that rises from the ashes!

This is the second book in the Paragon Operations Series by Sybil Bartel and it is incredible!

This book was just as good as I had hoped, better even.
Isla and Phoenix bring us the beginning of Paragon. Deadly SEAL, nothing could get in his way until her, Isla!

Sybil Bartel kept me engrossed in Phoenix but be sure to read Paragon prequel before beginning this, just to have an idea of what is going on!

I will start by saying I love Sybil Bartel. Her writing style is fast paced and intense. This book is probably my favorite so far. Pheonix is by far my favorite MMC - the exact right mix of gooey dominance and the emotions that make him lovable. Isla is a great FMC and her journey is heart wrenchingly beautiful. I love that we got to see a bit more of Helios and I cannot wait to read his book. That boy needs a hug....

Cannot wait for the next instalment as I can’t wait to see how these characters and this new series develops, hopefully alongside some old favourite characters.

The secrets, hidden agenda so many emotions I couldn’t contain my feelings. Situations sometimes beyond anyone’s control so intense. Strong flawed characters with emotional baggage. Action intertwined with caring, love, promises made in the past and future. Written with strength and intensity that hits your heart and soul. Great read well written. Truly enjoyed it. Thanks for the ARC.

...they do! Every book is my new favourite. Sybil hits it out of the park every time. I can't say too much without giving spoilers, so I will leave out the details, but go get this book! I just know this entire series will be as good as the last. As always I absolutely love seeing some of the Alphas from previous books. Amazing job, once again.

I will be honest, Phoenix, at first, was a struggle. BUT now that I have finished this journey with him and the MFC, I have to say that I truly love how this evolved. In this story, it showed true grit and everything that Phoenix endured during his life. What I would have loved would be more background for Isla. I needed more. Their love story was wonderful, and I enjoyed it greatly! The plot twists, phew, Sybil, I was really so intrigued. Thank you, Sybil, for really bringing it and doing true justice to Phoenix and Isla!!!
