You know the saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Well the enemy of my ex is my rebound… and he f*cks better than that bastard who cheated on me.
They're both rich and powerful and have a debt to settle in the wealthy circles of NYC. Then there's me... the naive girl trying to make it in this city, pissed off and seemingly a willing pawn.
It was supposed to be one night to get over one man by getting under another. Then one thing led to another and it all spiraled out of control, It was never supposed to go this far.
I was never supposed to fall for him. And he was never supposed to risk it all for me.
Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
Adults who can communicate 🥵 it's so refreshing to have a book without the miscommunication trope! Lol. Spicy, easy read book and omg I hated Evan 🤣 Dylan and Raven started out wanting revenge but then ended up falling for each other. Highly recommend if you need a fun spicy book!
Dnf at 30 percent. Nothing happened- no emotions from either of them and the prologue gave way too much of the plot away. I was so bored and honestly skimmed the majority of it and just could not go on.
Looooooved it! Winters is sometimes hit or miss- honest, but this was really good! I would’ve loved to get more on what happened with Evan because he put Ruby through hell- but still good!
Who doesn’t love some revenge dating? Especially when it’s a hot billionaire. Like oh no, woe to me. It’s a bit of fake dating in the sense, that they just did it to make someone else jealous, but they were already attracted to each other from the start. He definitely fell first; she was more in her head about things, which got annoying but also was realistic. It’s a hard industry that she’s in, and it’s a man’s world. Plus she’s super pretty. Of course they’re going to think she’s just sleeping her way to the top. Which like… por que no los dos? She can be a badass at what she does, and also have Mr. Sharpe. Her ex boyfriend can suck it. He’s such a shrew, and entitled. I’m glad he gets his comeuppance.
Omg the steam, the attraction, the pure lust these two have for each other! Gosh, I love a sexy billionaire and that is exactly what Dylan is. He witnesses the break up between Raven and that asshole Evan and then interviews her for a job! He is impressed with her ability to compose herself and of course is attracted to her. They come up with a plan to get that butthead Evan back, but they can’t deny their attraction for each other.
Gosh darn it I love a man who has sworn off love and then a bad ass woman comes and changes his mind. This book is perfection!
Loved the communication between the two, did not feel as though their relationship grew.
I was impressed with the way Raven and Dylan communicated with each other. They talked about their feelings, reassured each other, and didn’t let others come between them. I liked that.
However, I feel as though their relationship was rushed. They went on like two dates and had been together a bit over a month (which is another thing because the time period was confusing to me. Was it six months like it said in the beginning, or a month like it said towards the end, unless I was just reading wring which is possible!). The most we see of them is just tons of sex or interacting at work, or sex at work. Sexy times are great but it was pretty much all we got of them as an actual couple. That made their romance not believable, at least to me. I wish we had more time of the two of them learning more about each other and spending time together.
4 stars⭐️ The book was interesting, but for me, it lacked connecting on a personal level. The only conversation between them was about business, Even (her ex and his enemy) or about sleeping with each other. There are mentions that they hang out and talk about many things, even that he told her about his past with Even, but we don't see any of that. We got two full chapters about her mom visiting and how she goes to the club with friends, but not those scenes.🙄 It is also blurry when they decided that their "just fucking" became something more. The main characters were good, but for MMC, there is not that much depth to the character. We only know that he is rich, that his ex broke his heart, that he hates Even, and that's it. I loved that there was no miscommunication and that they solved problems with conversation like normal people. Also, I don't want to spoil it, but the prologue (which is six months after the book starts) is a little bit misleading just to hook up the reader. If we ignore all this, the book was overall okay.

When Raven Hill wants to get her ex, Evan, mad after he humiliated her, she decides to do it with his enemy. One night to please each other and embarrass the ex. Well, one night might not be enough when it’s Dylan Sharpe you’re getting involved with. He two has a grudge with Evan. They both have alternative motives for being together but when the truth comes out can their growing feelings for one another be enough to stay together? This is a fast paced business romance bathed in revenge and S T E A M Y scenes.

mini blurb — ✍🏻 What started as a job interview quickly turns into an opportunity to finally put in motion the revenge that both Dylan and now, Raven, are eager to obtain from the former dear friend for him, and her ex for her. Love and other feeling was not on the plan for both of them.

THIS MAN RIGHT HERE
My hopes and bar for this book was very low but honestly I was pleasantly surprised to loving it this much. The premise was there, corporate life fueled with a revenge plot UGHH to die for! And the characters? Perfection. Two adults that can fucking communicate immaculately, they both were honest with each other from the very fist moment, when problems arose they both talked and found a solution IN THE MOMENT, can I list this as a kink of mine? BC surely nothing is hotter than this.
Not that the plot is this big secret but the story, even if not original, was enjoyable and the writing was very good, I don't want to spoil anything about it.
If I have to say one thing about the unfathomable "betrayal", it was a bit of a let-down, seen that the prologue of the book gives a little bit of anticipation for what, sooner or later is to come, I was a bit disappointed of how efficiently they fixed it.

When Willow and Lauren collab, you always know the book is going to be amazing, and spicy as all hell. So, of course, this is true with the newest book. I have read all of Willow's books, and am honoured to be an ARC reader for her.
Raven is a young, up and coming business graduate, who has her sights set on working in the Financial District. She meets the person, whose business she wants to work for, Dylan. But, prior to that, she as to endure the breakdown of her relationship by her boyfriend, Evan. This is witnessed from another table by Dylan, and he is both intrigued and curious about Raven, given the tortured history he, himself, has had at the hands of Evan. Because of this, Dylan is intrigued with how Raven handles herself. He, although impressed with Raven and her qualifications, is not willing to employ her, but suggests they attend a social gathering together, so she can make business connections elsewhere.
The connections between Raven and Dylan is palpable, and initially, although it is just business, it becomes so so much more. Raven has so much self doubt about herself, thanks to Evan, and is adamant that she wants to get a job, and work her way up, on her own merit. But, there is a nastiness that feels compelled to undermine her, but they underestimate her. How this story played out, I loved, and the relationship between Raven and Dylan, although may look from the outside as a power imbalance, is anything but. This was well written, and showcased the strength of a woman determined to prove her worth, despite the obstacles and vitriol from a bitter ex. Highly recommend.
I loved this book! Raven and Dylan’s story is one of instant attraction pushed by revenge that turns out to be true love. These two were meant to be. They complemented each other in ways they didn’t know they needed a partner. And their spicy scenes were just so good!
this book is that one abc news interview where the personal assistant (a woman) is like “i am mr. sterling’s right hand arm….man. i’m mr. sterling everything. i’m his confidant. his best friend. his silly rabbit.” likejsjd i wish i was kidding
anyways girl who was caught sleeping with guy, who is suddenly her boss, at a networking event is shocked people at the office know she is sleeping with the boss…. girl let’s be serious?
AND let’s be honest bc they knew they weren’t gonna last as a couple so a quick marriage and pregnancy sounds about right to me 😭 the men she’s been writing recently are like disney princes (derogatory) ????
had to bump the audiobook to 2x speed by the end of this…. BUT if any wealthy nyc businessman is looking to embrace his whippedism and begs for an opportunity, you’ve come to the right place my dear sir.
Raven Hill is poised for greatness. Green to the field of hedge fund trading, she’s out to prove that despite her lack of leg-ups and daddy’s money, she’s ready to take the business world by storm. When she has the opportunity to interview with Dylan Sharpe, but is instead derailed by her ex (and Dylan’s rival), Dylan declines her a job offer. He instead wants to keep her close and offers to introduce her to other potential employers. Their chemistry quickly heats up, proving that their relationship could never be described as ’it’s just business’.
This was a super fun, quick & smutty read. I love the boss/employee dynamic, especially when the FMC of the story is a kick butt business woman. I loved how quick the MMC crumbled for our FMC, and I loved the underlying revenge plot of the story. Definitely recommend for a fun read!
Tropes in this story: ✨Billionaire boss x Employee ✨Secret & forbidden relationship ✨Alpha male MMC… but he’s soft only for her ✨Delicious, clandestine spice
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book via HambrightPR, but my review is all my own.
thank you hambright pr and the authors for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review!
i ate this up!! i had a great time with this book! it was romantic, hot and fast paced! i couldn't put this down! i really enjoyed raven and dylan and thought they had great chemistry and everything. however i would've loved to have a little bit more background of dylan's past. there was a plot point that was important to dylan's character that would need to be mentioned to raven and we didn't get to see that scene. so i wish we got a bit more emotional depth with these characters, they just felt a bit surfaced and would've loved to go a bit deeper.
Raven is having a really $h1tty time at the minute - in dire need of a job and because of her ex, a lot of doors are closed! (He's a right dweeb 🤬) But then, the enemy of her enemy has a proposition, be his date to the ex's fundraiser 😏
And what starts a one-night thing soon turns to more. But of course nothing is straight forward in the land of fiction! Can these two, who obviously have a connection that people can only hope for, finally stand up and acknowledge what could be....
Adores the characters, definitely felt their connections and could easily read more on these two!!
*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review 4.5
Steamy office fantasies delivered but it’s not too much imo, just the perfect amount of smut with a separate plot of revenge and a well wrapped ending. Mr. Sharpe is hot as hell, knows what he wants and is never letting up, darling!
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! An explosively fascinating and enticing office romance!! Right from the start this story had me hooked. I couldn’t put it down…it’s SO GOOD.. Dylan and Raven are simply inviting, captivating and interesting characters.
Dylan is the panty melting, dirty talking, powerful, controlling billionaire book boyfriend we all swoon over. Raven is the I can make it on my own, determined, tenacious, sassy and endearing heroine we all find inspiring and empowering. Together Dylan and Raven have off the charts chemistry with a side of “Yes Sir, and do what I say Darling. That DARLING is the one word that has us swooning and gets our hearts racing. What begins as business and a one night stand becomes so much more intense, heart-gripping and alluring. Dylan shows Raven that he wants to stand by her and together they will lead. It’s such a pivotal and meaningful moment when Raven realizes that Dylan wants control in the bedroom not in the boardroom. All in all Dylan is a GOOD BOY who worships his DARLING. Remarkably well written by two incredibly talented and wonderful authors!
This was GOOD! I loved Dylan and Raven. Raven was smart and strong and fought to have presence in the financial world despite her jerky ex, Evan. I hate that she second guessed herself for any amount of time because she knew what she was doing.
It was exactly what I needed in a quick, easy to process, low angst read.
It's funny how often contemporary romances feel less realistic than fantasy romances. The most realistic thing in this book is the closet apartments in NYC and how the finance industry is cutthroat and filled with nepotism.
All that aside, it was enjoyable and provided my brain the break it needed from reading heavier genres.
