My big brother bought me this for Christmas because i love David walliams even though some people would say im too old to read his books I didn't know that he had a set of picture books like these im definitely going to need to get the rest of them Super quick fun read
Adam Stowerin kuvitus on aika mukava.
It’s ok. The classic ‘it’s good to be different’ moral tale. We’ve read much better stories which communicate the same thing.
Our 3 year old did laugh when the witch bounced of the walls so it’s not terrible but I don’t think this book lives up to the hype.
Example of this: ‘it’s cool to be the odd one out’ just stuck on the end of the story. It feels a bit jarring and as I’ve already said, we’ve read much better books that communicate the same message (like Odd dog out).
So if you’re into Halloween then I can see that being a USP but I wouldn’t rush to buy it personally.

This book is full of words, characters, and illustrations. Onomatopoeia is a great figure of speech to grasp the readers attention! This also makes the book come more to live in a way. It gives the reader a slightly easier visualization of the book. It also teaches a great lesson that even if you may look different, it just might be the "cool".
We’d been saving it for Halloween, but it disappointed. The message was sound (but they are in many children’s books) and the illustrations superb, but the story itself was nothing special. This was the first David Walliams novel for Noah and I, and it may very well be the last.
Pikkuinen ihmissusi Hukka menee Hirviökouluun, jotta oppisi olemaan pelottava.
My first David Walliams book and I must say I really enjoyed it. I brought it to read to my niece for Halloween, it has brilliant illustrations and a great overall message. Highly recommend.
Great little book about being yourself. My son loved the book and found it suitably entertaining. I liked the feel good message. Lovely illustrations too
It’s a nice book but it is very long. It’s hard to see the real message behind it but is a fun read. It’s about 10 + minutes to read so might be difficult to keep a child engaged
‘Howler is a little werewolf with a big problem…he is just not scary! And that makes him the odd one out at Monster School. But when Howler finds some new friends, he discovers that being the odd one out might just make him the coolest one of all… Children will howl with laughter in reading this monstrously funny picture book, which celebrates individuality and finding your own voice.’ This book was awesome. I am a massive fan of David Walliams so I was very excited to get my hands on this book. I am happy to say that this book not only lived up to my high expectations it well and truly surpassed them. One of the things I adore about David Walliams’ books is his ability to create wonderful characters that learn something about themselves or life as the story unfolds. This book has a beautiful message for young readers about being yourself and finding your people while still being funny and engaging. I loved that this book had a Halloween setting, I haven’t read many books set on Halloween, and the way that this story incorporated it into this story was really clever. On top of the setting, the dialog and story itself were heartwarming and thoroughly entertaining. I started and finished this book with a smile on my face. Adding to David Walliams’ amazing story are the bright and bold illustrations by Adam Stower. The way in which Adam Stower’s illustrations perfectly complimented David Walliams’ story added an extra layer to this awesome book. I honestly don’t have a bad word to say about this book. If you have a young reader in your life you should get them a copy of this phenomenal book. Little Monsters by David Walliams is a must-have for all young readers and their families.
A firm favourite as a bedtime story ages 3-5 and as an independent read ages 5-6. I’m never too Impressed with the craft of Walliams’ writing either in his picture books or Novels, but this story doesn’t require more than basic writing and I can’t really fault anything. The story is as engaging from the text alone as it is with the illustrations which are excellent. Not terribly original but absolutely fit for purpose.
