~ Anthony ~
They were dead, all dead, an entire mafia family...except me. The bastard son of mafia boss Anthony D'Angelo, and that made me the new head of the family. But inheriting the mafia is not all it's cracked up to be. People want me dead. I don't know if it's the same people that killed my family or someone new, and I wasn't sure it mattered. I had no plans to die anytime soon. I just wasn't sure how to prevent it.

~ Vito ~
I was the underboss of a mafia family and when they were all taken out in a bombing, I wanted revenge. Before I could do that, I needed to track down the illegitimate son of my boss, a man I never knew about until now. I wasn't sure what to think of Tony when I found him, but I did know I had to keep him alive. He was the head of the family now and I was duty bound to serve him. I just wished I wasn't so attracted to him.

Gay erotic romance. The material in this book contains explicit sexual content that is intended for mature audiences only. All characters involved are adults capable of consent, are over the age of eighteen, and are willing participants.

This was book 2 in the "Mafia Mayhem - The Italian Connection" series. In the last book the D'Angelo family had been killed in an explosion at a family wedding. The underboss Vittorio aka Vito was at the airport picking up his uncle Carmine. When Carmine tells him that Anthony D' Angelo had a son Vito sets out to find him. Tony D'Angelo grew up on the streets of New York his mother abandoned him when he was 12 years old so he grew up in foster care as an adult he works 3 jobs to make ends meet when he begins to feel like someone is following him his street smarts kick in turns out Tony has some skills. When he meets Vito and learns that his father has died and he is now a billionaire and head of D'Angelo mafia family at first he doesn't believe it but he decides to go with it. I liked that when he meets Vinnie Bocelli he gets along with Nicky his husband. While leaving more Italy Tony gets a funny feeling and everyone gets off the plane turns out a bomb is found. This was a really good read I was so wrong about who was behind the bombing and I was surprised by who was. Vito is surprised by the skills that Tony has he knows how to take care of himself. Vito who was in the closet comes out to him and they hook up Vito is afraid but Tony refuses to stay hidden and he stands up to Carmine when he shows up thinking that Tony died turns out he has a secret. This was a good book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I finished it last week, and forgot the names already. Sorry.
But there's one thing I remembered, that after an accident, beaten up and got some broken bones, they had sex, a full on sex lol
How was it possible? I have no clue.
But despite that anomaly, I enjoyed the story.

Read books one and two last night. Spoiler alert: I loved them. My only issue was the editing, but the story and characters were amazing in both!

Inheriting the Mafia
Italian connection # 2

Aja Foxx continues the crazy with this story 😂 when the entire D'Angelo family gets taken out, the hunt for the illegitimate heir begins. Vito is determined to find his new boss, and when he does, he is not expecting a sassy, streetwise, parkour enthusiast.

Tony, Anthony D'Angelo, works three jobs up until guys in dark suits start following him, and then suddenly he learns he's in charge... of a mafia family.

This story was amazingly ridiculous. Fight scenes and car chases. It reminded me of a gay Jason Statham movie. I was here for it.

As with all the other Mafia Mayhem books, we also get more of Vinnie Borelli and most recently Luca Sabatino. Love this little found family group.

Rating: 4.5🌈

Aja Foxx just got me even more pumped about this series after reading the new book, Inheriting The Mafia.

I’m such a sucker for a super competent character, even more for one that’s surprisingly so, both to the reader and the other characters in the storyline. That’s one of the elements of the plot that makes this so easy to become involved in the characters lives and developing narrative. The twists and revelations that Foxx has in store with regard to Anthony “Tony” D'Angelo, a character that will still leave the reader wondering about him and his adolescence after the book is done.

Much like the first series, Foxx is working through the major crime families, with each one represented by one of the main characters getting their own romance while connecting with the other families and couples.

It’s a terrific format and helps establish a universe of relationships and foundation of histories that each story can use as part of their own story. It enriches the narrative and makes the environment more interesting and immersive.

Vito as the one to usher Tony into his new role and life as the head of the D'Angelo mafia family is wonderful. A made man, brought up within the family, he’s flexible enough to give Tony the opportunity to reveal surprises of his own when the opportunity presents itself.

Tony is that author’s gift that immediately connects with the reader and then continues to show chameleon qualities that make him even stronger and intriguing. Just know that I love him.

Foxx came up with so many great elements here that the story length wasn’t long enough to fully appreciate or explore some of the best of them. That includes the uncle’s past, a few of the more engaging bodyguards, etc.

Perhaps, those will be revisited in future books. I can hope.

Inheriting The Mafia (Mafia Mayhem - The Italian Connection Book 2) by Aja Foxx is an absolute favorite. I wonder what the next book will bring.

Until then, I’m happy to recommend this series and definitely this story.

Should have been a 4 star read

I enjoyed the story as it continues in the same style as all Aja Foxx's Mafia books, but a few things annoyed me too much. The main one that annoyed me is that one MC had been beaten severely, could hardly walk, struggles up some stairs, but 10 minutes later he's pounding MC2 into the mattress and suffering no ill effects. I know it's fiction, but really??? Also needs another quick word edit. Sorry Ms Foxx, but not happy with this one.

I loved this story with the mystery of who killed the family, who was trying to kill Tony while causing war between families mixed with the relationship between Tony and Vito. I loved this tie in with the Mafia Mayhem series families which added an anti gay slant on the story too. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story as past events as well as the future were analysed. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

I really enjoyed this book. Which honestly surprised me some. I didn't think I'd hate it or anything, but it's not my fav trope, but Tony was such a joy! Badass and smart with an attitude that didn't come across snobby, bratty, or mean. I also really enjoyed the spidey sense aspect. It was a lot of fun and built great tension.
I wish the editing had been tighter, there were a lot of missing words or just incorrect words used instead, but it didn't ruin the story for me or anything. I also appreciated the violence level. I understand a lot of fun mafia books don't really believe in violence and try to keep the bloodlust down. However, I personally find it odd when there's no blood shed in spite the protector MC constantly yelling about slowly killing anyone who lays a hand on their significant other who then gets kidnapped at least twice and nothing happens. Anyway, I appreciated the very small amount of violence in this book. Thank you.

My favorite 4.5 ⭐️

This one was probably my favorite out of all of them including the Families in New York. Tony was a strong funny MC and Vito was great as well. This lost half a star for editing (which I don’t normally do) it wasn’t much and I wouldn’t have even added it into the rating, yet the characters names were swapped 2 or 3 times and it was confusing. Otherwise it was something small like “of” not “if” which I can skip over. The other reason it wasn’t a 5 star was because it wrapped up way too quickly and left some questions unanswered. I don’t want to give away spoilers because this really was my favorite read but maybe a little more understanding on how Tony was so good at what he could do would have been helpful (though I loved that he kept surprising Vito) Or why he wasn’t more upset about his body count? Again nothing major or missing just questions. Overall, I’d recommend this book and author.

The best Mafia Mayhem book.

I have been reading the original Mafia Mayhem series and enjoyed them. This is by far the best one. First off this one has dead bodies. Second we get a mob boss who is willing to make more dead bodies. Oh, did I mention the book starts off with dead bodies. Oh, and this is the first Mafia boss who is a bottom. My one complaint is that he said "wait until they see me dressed up" but he never did get to dress up. Maybe we will get to see that in the next book . He did promise gay parties. (Hopefully with more dead bodies.)

Very entertaining

I rarely ever give out a 5 star rating. I usually save that 5th start for a story that either makes me think of something that I’ve never considered before or that is just thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. I was vested in finding out what the heck was going on from start to finish in this book and generally enjoy the whole marriage mayhem series by this author.

Fun story

Foxx has a gift at story telling. This one is every bit as engaging as most of her stories, despite how short they usually are. Unfortunately, it is also littered with minor errors that sometimes interrupt story flow while you’re trying to understand the typo or editing mistake.

Read Until I Finished It

Wow. Wow. Wow! I loved Tony, he was a great surprise of all the things he did or could do. He was a jack of all trades! Just the description of Vito, made you picture him in your mind, and you melt! I most definitely enjoyed this book. It. Was. Awesome!

crazy for the win

Always fun to hang with the guys again. Tony is going to be a fun addition to the family. He’s as crazy as Kyue and innocently deadly. Italy and the mafia have no idea what they’re in for!!

I would have given this four stars but the storyline was definitely ott. Tony went from being a normal guy to super hero overnight..he even had spidy senses 🤣 As well as that there were some very serious editing issues.

Another great book in the series. This one was a bit more believable than the last one. Although, I will say Tony took to the mafia life just a bit too easily. All in all, I really enjoyed it.

INHERITING THE MAFIA

It wouldn’t be an Aja Foxx book without a plot twist and as per usual I am always standing on my tippy toes waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Inheriting the Mafia by Aja Foxx
Fast-paced and entertaining, we have Anthony, who finds out he is the last living member of a mafia family. Even though he is the illegitimate son of the late Don, he still has the D’Angelo blood running through his veins. Vito an underboss is the one in charge of finding Anthony. But they first must fight against those who want all of the D’Angelo’s dead as well as face their growing feelings for each other. Anthony was my favorite character being the ultimate underdog that has lived a hard life, but that is what makes him have a good radar of when something is bad as well as a unique fighting style. Vito was also great making tough choices to be with Anthony. Overall, it was a great book that I recommend you read.
