Submissive wolf shifter Levi has met his mate, the one he wants to call Master. The problem is the Master concerned wants him for nothing more than a regular Saturday night scene and thanks to the rules the man has put in place there is nothing Levi can do about it.

Thanks to the war Steel is a damaged wolf. He knows Levi is his mate and wants nothing more than to claim him. But to do that means spilling more secrets than Steel has ever been willing to share with anyone. Does he have it in him to tell Levi what is going on, or should he release him to another Master at the club?

Two men who want each other - rules and secrets standing in their way.

DNF at around 50% - 1.5 stars

I liked the idea of a new (to me) BDSM shifter series a lot, so my expectations might have been higher than usual for a new-to-me author. Even taking that into account, I’m finding it very hard to find something to praise here.
The editing was embarrassing to say the least, especially the (mis)use of punctuation. I’ve lost count of the number of missing commas, just to make an example.
The BDSM aspect doesn’t work for me either and I have to go down to details and maybe rant a little to explain why, so I’ll put it under spoiler tags.
Steel is not a Dom, he’s a whiny, selfish prick who’s perfectly okay leaving

I can deal with a lot of questionable content, if the writing, the characters, the chemistry—something, even some decently-put commas would help—are good enough to make it worth it. It wasn’t the case here.

This was short and not very memorable but good enough to pass the time while waiting for SE Jakes' latest book to be released.

Jesus, when did I become such a callus bitch? Don't listen to me. If you enjoy shifters denying their true mates and love the BDSM, this book was written for you. It was just a bit to cookie-cutter for this 'ol hag.

Tommy and Prophet, here I come!!!!!

Initially I wasn't going to rate this book, but then I decided that those who enjoy gay wolf shapeshifter erotica deserve to read good gay wolf shapeshifter erotica.

This is not it.

It is, however, a prime example of both the opportunities and the pitfalls of self-publishing. On one hand, the ease of self-publishing an ebook makes it possible to reach niche markets at the most granular level. On the other hand, it allows authors to release books into the world without the most cursory attempt at copy editing.

If a second pair of eyes had been allowed to glance over this manuscript, at least some of the glaring spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors would have been fixed. I'm not actually convinced that the author herself read it over a second time before hitting "publish."

But then again, why should she? This is the level of quality the market allows. Readers (myself included) will pay $2.99 for a book like this even if they have to ask themselves whether a character is really "sprouting" a red, angry cock, or if, perhaps, the author meant "sporting" instead.

I am giving this book two stars because it does what it says on the tin, but withholding any additional stars on the basis of poorly developed characters, nonsensical plot, and truly awful prose.

Don't Touch
By Lisa Oliver

Dom Steele and Sub Levi have been doing scenes at the club for the past 2 months. They both know they are fated mates, but because Steele set up rules when they first agreed to play together Levi can't talk to him, look at him or make any noise when they are together. So he can't ask Steele why he refuses to acknowledge their mating. Every Saturday night at the end of their scenes Steele walks out without a word leaving Levi still hanging from chains, in pain, and heartbroken with only his friends to give him aftercare. This is a story about a broken ex-Marine who learns to open his heart and trust again.

The story was really good. Though I hated Steele in the beginning. After I learned his story I was more forgiving. They are a great couple together. There was medium angst. Some action. I did feel for both of the MC's pains. It's definitely in my reread pile.

My Review:
I really adore male/male shifter stories, but add in a scarred and wounded military vet with leftover issues and I'm seriously sold. This book was good!

Levi and Steel have been doing scenes once a week together, but as the sub Levi has to submit to Steel's rules...no talking, no touching, no connection at all. At issue though is the fact that they are true mates and they both know it. It's not a good situation for either of them, but Steel refuses to risk rejection and Levi has no idea what's really going on with Steel.

It's a bit heartbreaking, but it does make for some truly sexy, sensual scenes. Both these men want the other so badly...it's a visceral thing and they are barely keeping their wolves at bay.

Levi is simply a nice, sweet guy. He may be a submissive at the club, but he is not a pushover. He's been willing to put up with a lot from Steel, but I love when he hits his limit, he is done. He is not going to be pushed into a bad circumstance. And then my heart broke for Steel. He never planned on hurting Levi and is so wrapped up in his own pain, that he's missed just what he's doing to his mate. I love that when he does realize he does everything he can to fix it. Loved these two together.

I loved the way the author set up the final scene that broke Steel's control. So sexy and erotic...and yet, there was still that conflict as to whether Levi had finally hit the limit of what he could accept also.

This is the first book setting up a series about wolf shifters within a BDSM club setting. They are short little stories, so you can easily catch a sexy fix in less than a couple of hours. Um, yeah, I think I need to get to one-clicking. The next book features the Alpha who's a Dom, but so is his newfound mate. Um, can you say sexy times are about to happen? Yeah, I think so, too. I'm going to go dig in now.

I hate to give a Lisa Oliver book such a harsh rating... but it is because I have read almost everything she has written that I feel OK doing so. I know that she can do better, and this story left me both disappointed and frustrated. I had three major issues, outlined below. I can't keep spoilers out of the details, so i'll tag the whole outlining of my issues with the story, to be as fair to the rules as possible.

TL;DR, I KNOW Lisa can do better, and am frustrated by this one. It seems, from the published date, that this is far older than most of her work, BUT STILL, that doesn't excuse it's issues, nor the fact that it's not the first time any of these issues have come up in her works. I expect better from an author that I know can deliver it. :(

1.5/5, rounded down handily due to issues of consent and abuse that were NOT needed to tell the story.

WHOA WHOA WHOA, Talk about your steamy, sexy, paranormal love fest! I picked this up and didn’t put it down until it was done. Steel and Levi made me a believer in love, mates, and wolves. I’ll be honest, at first I was hesitant to like Steel, but it didn’t take long before I was fawning at his feet and wishing I could be in Levi’s shoes, or maybe his pants, wink wink. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a quick read that’ll leave you howling for more!

Isn't Steel such a great name for an Alpha wolf shifter and BDSM Dom? And his gorgeous mate Levi who is prepared to put up with a lot more than he should, to be close to his mate.

Luckily for Steel and Levi the fates have decided they should be together, and having found each other the human side may be resistant but the pull of the wolf is stronger. There are barriers to overcome but with two main characters who each have integrity and inner strength, things may just work out.

Don't Touch is quite a quick and satisfyingly romantic read. I like the world that Lisa Oliver creates, where gay shifters are not always welcome in their original packs, but have the strength and courage to create a life with a new pack, or as a lone wolf until they find their mate.

I know some readers may not be keen on the one mate for life concept but as a bit of a romantic at heart I'm also for it, especially without an automatic insta-love expectation. The protagonists have to work hard for their happy ending.

Happily there seem to be plenty more in the Bound and Bonded series. With a taster of the next book in the series (Topping The Dom) at the end of Don't Touch, my imagination has already been caught so straight on to book two for me...

I really enjoyed this M/M romance which features a Dom and sub. Steele is a Dom who has returned from a military career with scars which he feels will make his new found mate look at him with pity or disgust. Levi is thrilled to have finally found his mate but is confused when his mate shows no interest in mating with him. They scene together to be near each other but there is absolutely no communication and no touching. I loved the storyline and the building of this fascinating couple's relationship. Steele and Levi have a lot of obstacles to overcome but both of these men are very strong and stubborn men who do not want to give up on having a happy ever ending. I felt drawn into this wonderful story and am looking forward to reading more books in the kinky series.

I'm giving this 2.5 stars, rounding up to 3 because despite the fact the formatting is totally a mess, I was able to find a rhythm to it and finished the book quickly. I then proceeded to read the 2nd book and now, I'm left needing to find out when the 3rd is coming out. There are some interesting plot lines here, stuff I can get my head around. I'll stick with it for a bit.

I actually really didn't like this series. Every book was a novella. They were very under developed. But as series progressed the stories them selves were just awful. The first couple were ok but by the time we got to the vampire and then the Omega. Books the inconsistencies were just frustrating. Why these strong subs were allowing themselves to be abused n scarred by humans is beyond me? The stories just sucked. The constant abuse to explain it then they are mated n boom fixed. The fact they were novellas, rushed, seemed so farfetched.

First of a series on gay paranormal romance

Liam is a submissive to his unacknowledged true mate. His mate and Dom meets Liam each week for a scene but doesn't stick around for aftercare. Sean is a vet with bad PTSD but it is unknown until later. This is the story of an accidental public claiming, a Dom having to grovel, a submissive in mortal danger and a great love. A very entertaining and well written book.

Short story

Lisa Oliver is a new author for me and I’m happy I gave her a go. This is a short story of gay BDSM with torture and abuse. This is the story of two members of a gay wolf shifter pack fated to be together but there’s something holding them apart. Can they overcome the ghosts of the past plus the danger of other Doms sniffing around.

Well, I listened to this on triple speed, text-to-speech. I just couldn't get into it. I know it was just a novella but it really could have used some flushing out. It all just seemed rushed to me; disjointed. Steel did a complete 180 and it just didn't feel realistic to me. :(

Levi and Steel

This book is good. It is written very well and I would recommend it to someone who likes the BMSD scene with an HEA. Only complaint is that it is to short of a read.

3.5 star review by Vicki

Oh yes, BDSM and werewolves. Right up my alley!

Levi is a submissive wolf shifter, who has recently found his mate. Unfortunately his mate Steel, has some issues and won’t commit to Levi, either as his Master or his mate. Levi is left with nothing but Saturday evenings spent in a room in the pack BDSM club, submitting to Steel for a brief amount of time before Steel leaves him. This goes on for two months before it reaches a breaking point and Steel is forced to confront his issues and Levi head on.

This is a short story, at only 97 pages, and there isn’t a whole lot of plot. So I’ll stop with my description there…. We get just a bit of Steel’s background, enough to know why he has issues, and almost nothing of Levi’s story. There is some good drama with another wolf that I liked quite a bit. This is really BDSM between men that happen to be werewolves, we don’t even see them shift, except for a partial shift for Steel. Other than some biting to form the mate bond, you wouldn’t even know they were shifters. The sex is hot and naughty, the BDSM is well done, and the drama is good.

I liked this story, but the writing was off somehow. There were some formatting issues that may be the result of my converting it to Kindle format, but sometimes the writing was stilted, or short, or something. I’m not really sure. This is one of those times that I can like the characters and the story, not like the writing, but still like the book. It’s short and hot, yes, I would have liked a few more pages to get some more depth to the characters and story, but it was ok for what it was. It’s more about the sex and the bond that forms between Steel and Levi.

I’m curious to read the next books!

This is about Levi a wolf sub that has been secretly in love with his Master, Steel for two months. And Steel an ex-Marine that has been doing scenes with Levi but refuses to show any care or emotion towards him. After an incident Steel finally claims Levi as the mate he’s always known he was. And Levi finally understands what held Steel back. Together they start the healing processes.
This was such a great story of broken souls, and healing. Of friendship and loneliness, and how just simply talking and acceptance can change everything. It does have a lot of characters, but being the start of a series you accept that. But also you are not lost dealing with them. The only down side is I wish I felt a stronger connection between the two main MC’s. Maybe if the story was longer and it had time to develop?

More like 2.5 but I rounded up!

A short book about werewolves who are into BDSM and fall in love (obviously!). Due to my current obsession with Teen Wolf this was exactly what I was in the mood for but it didn't have much depth and was rather short. Hence the 'It's okay' to 'I liked it' rating.

I liked the backstory of both Steel and Levi but as I said it could have done with greater depth as I didn't really feel the emotion between the two characters. Also this is heavy on the sexual content considering the length, with the majority of Steel and Levi's relationship problems being resolved through sex.

Then again I'm intrigued by the world Lisa Oliver has created and the pack structure. Also the teaser for the next book (about the Alpha Pearson) was interesting enough that I'll probably read the next one.

3.25 stars, maybe edging to 3.5 stars.

This was short yet deliciously angsty - unrequited (or is it) mate/lust/love/attraction. Levi is bound by the rules not to question his would-be mates actions, Steel is so bound by his own fears and insecurities he doesn't realise what a shit he's being. The yearning was nicely written, likewise the angles from both characters' POV. It has a sequel Topping The Dom Bound and Bonded 2 which I'll read now too. For a BDSM set story, there was minimal details so don't be expecting much if that's what you're hoping for.

It's the first in a new series focused around a pack run BDSM club. Sound familiar. This book felt like it was Lisa trying to get a feel for Damian's character in Cloverleah 3. The series are not related so you don't need the have read one before the other.
If you like her style it's worth a read. I enjoyed it. The BDSM components are more mentioned than described in detail so safe to read if you don't like the heavy stuff.
Her wolves and Doms don't always behave as they should.

There is a bit of angst and uncertainly but we get the HEA.

A quick read for the paranormal lover. Then you add a little M/M Dom/Sub to the mix and you have the workings for the Bound and Bonded series. In Don't Touch you will find out if craving each other will bring master and sub closer. Or will knowing they are destined to each others mate keep them apart?

Although captivating enough, this read needed just a bit more detail backing up the sessions previous to the one quickly described in the first few pages. It felt a little rushed, however the story-line itself makes for a good read. To be honest, I'll grab the second book in the series because I am curious to see where the author goes next and the sneak peak of the next has peaked my interest.

A very nice short story, although I would've liked to read more about the two MCs time together before Steel finally started to act rationally.

I didn't like Steel as a character, because even though I could sympathise with the horrors he'd been through, I thought he could've made more of an effort of not making his mate pay for his personal demons.

The balance of the relationship between Steel and Levi was well executed, as they were not a 24/7 sub/Dom couple. Don't Touch was good enough to make me want to buy the sequel right away.
