After obtaining a degree in English Literature, Tiffany decided to write her first book and never looked back. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys spending time with her own Prince Charming, and their two beautiful children, enjoying Massachusetts’ natural wonders. Hop on for a unique journey in Regency England, filled with intensity and heartwarming romance. Let Tiffany’s words bring the enchanting heroes of an era long gone back to life and charm their way into your heart!
Evelina was the oldest sister in a family with the mother deceased and their father a drunken gambler. To supplement their income, she takes the job of tutor to the daughter of a cranky Duke.
This was a clean, cosy story with not a lot of excitement to it, but it was easy to read. The few mistakes in the writing are easy to overlook, and though it is dull, it’s still somewhat enjoyable.
Definitely a lot of arguing. I appreciate Evelina strength standing up for what was right, while still trying to be polite as possible. I found it amusing that Gabriel went out of his way to antagonize her & then was surprised when she would get upset.
I appreciate it how Gabriel cared about his daughter & was willing to change & compromise for her. I loved how Gabriel began to tease Evelina & how they both genuinely wanted to know what the other was feeling & to help them. Their relationship was interesting & different, there was something captivating about it.
I loved how Evelina helped Gabriel open up & help his relationship with his daughter. & I loved how Gabriel stood up for Evelina with her father. You could really feel how much they cared for each other. It was a really cute story
I enjoyed this clean story. Duke Gabriel was a widower with a young daughter and employed Evalina to tutor her in the etiquette required for society. Evalina had been responsible for the upbringing of her sisters when her father had lost most of his money through gambling and drinking. I liked the relationship between the sisters. Evalina grew close to Gabriel's daughter and soon she realised she was developing feelings for Gabriel. He knew he was interested in Evalina. Evalina's father was completely useless as a father and tried to match Evalina to an Earl regardless of the fact that Gabriel had told him he wanted to marry Evalina. Will her father win and force her to marry the Earl or will Gabriel and Evalina be free to find happiness together? Read on and enjoy.
Evelina realizes she must find work to help keep herself and her 4 younger sisters in their home and feed since her father's gambling has gotten out of control. A friend refers her to her nephew, a widowed duke with an eleven year old daughter who needs a tutor. There is only one problem. The duke is very strict and likes to be in control. Evelina is a very opinionated woman and not afraid to speak her mind. As these two battle over almost everything, is there m0re going on than it first appears. The extended epilogue was a little disappointed as there was no mention of a heir.
I was so caught up in this story that I read it straight through. The feeling each character went through affected me. I wanted to tell Gabriel to stop being stubborn and let himself feel what he felt. We all know how stubborn some men can be. Of course being stubborn in not gender specific Evelina was stubborn too. The supporting characters were well fleshed out and enjoyable which added to the richness of the story. Of course it goes without saying that I highly recommend this story!!!
It was a difficult for Evelina and her sisters as their father was squandering money as fast as he could. Evelina and her sisters were trying the best they could to survive the situation. Then their father decided it was time for them to marry. Unfortunately his choice of his husbands left a lot to be desired. Luckily when Evelina was tutoring Gabriel's daughter, they spent a lot of time together and so a loving and mutually respected relationship developed which progressed to their happily ever after.
This was a great book! It was clean with no graphic content, which made me happy. The characters were excellent and the plot was fantastic. My complaint was it was too saccharine. Evelina was written as too sweet, too sickly sweet. That almost made me delete the book. I took away tone star for the nauseating sweetness and “oily perfection”. I kept reading to see if the nauseating saccharine sweetness ever stopped. Yes she had spunk, which helped.
The heroine has been taking care of her sisters even when their father doesn’t help much. She needs to take a job for financial reasons so she ends up as a tutor for a duke’s daughter. It is nice to see how she brings the duke and his daughter our of their shells. I would have liked to had more dialogue between the two main characters as I felt a lot of time was spent with the daughter and the sisters. It was an enjoyable read.
This was such a wonderful story. A happily ever after with some excellent bumps along the way. I enjoyed the characters, especially the main female character! Loved her fiery personality! The sister’s close relationships were very endearing and fun. And the young daughter of the duke was delightful! I look forward to reading more about this family of interesting females.
Evalina does not expect to find any happy endings considering her father and his gambling issues. After all she has her sisters to fret over and manage. Still it comes in the form of a duke who comes to the realization he needs her permanently in his life. I found the epilogue a tad confusing regarding his daughter Eliza but overall a sweet and clean read
Evelina had been raising her younger sisters for years and felt she was firmly on the shelf until she met the dark duke. Their constant arguments, differences of opinion, and locked eye gazing is only the beginning. This hot and cold relationship has a precious daughter in the mix and an evil suitor to shake things up.
Opposite attracts, Evie is Gabriel’s soulmate. A beautiful well written story full of banter that i couldn’t out down. I loved all the characters including little Eliza and Whispers the dog. Highly recommended
Well, I couldn't put this book down. It was a beautiful mixture of love and suspense. The will they won't they lasted to nearly the end. A truly lovely story that I couldn't stop reading
Another tale of a spinster and her lost search for a husband that has many turns and a few surprises. The characters are colorful and her sisters and student endearing. Their story is entertaining and at times puts up your hackles but well wrote.
This romantic tale of two people who are totally different manage to find love in spite of their differences. A compellingly inspiring story of life in the Regency era filled with drama and the characters were incredibly interesting. Truly a great read.
Love the banter of this couple, Evelina and Gabriel. I was left wondering what happened to the Earl Oakwood who was to marry Evelina before Gabriel proposed. Did Evelina's father let him know the previous marriage was called off?
What a wonderful Cinderella story with lots of humorous dialogue between Evelina and Gabriel. Forced to work to he,o feed her family Evelina finds herself wrapped up in the world of a powerful Duke. Highly recommend this sweet read.
Not much adventure or excitement, but a worthwhile love story with good characterization and a heart warming plot. A good start to the series, although you can read them as stand alone stories.
I am a huge fan of fantasy. I have just recently started reading Regency Romances. I find it refreshing to find romance without explicit smut and language.
I usually like the books that Tiffany Baton writes, but for some reason, I didn't think this was as good as others she has written. I hope the next book in this series is better.
