The world is dying, and everyone knows it. But is the alternative worse?
In rust-choked streets and hollowed-out cities, there is only one way out—Terra Mythica, a virtual world so immersive that time warps, hunger vanishes, and even the most broken can live like kings.
Jace wasn’t supposed to make it in. He cheated death, and now it’s catching up to him. As the reluctant protégé of Hades, Jace finds himself thrust into Mount Olympus University, where gods manipulate Travelers, and the line between real and digital blurs with every step.
Here, survival is about more than just staying alive—it’s about clinging to your mind before it slips away, lost in this strange never-never land.
In this mythological LitRPG, follow Jace as he battles deadly trials, navigates treacherous alliances, and uncovers shocking secrets. His fight isn’t just for glory—it’s for his soul.
If you crave epic tales of battling impossible odds and finding light in the darkness, Terra Mythica will pull you in and never let go.

Humanity stands on the verge of embracing a virtual reality as their true existence. The deeper one delves into the Terra Mythica, the more distant and hollow real life feels, until the virtual world becomes everything.
But then again, what is reality, if not perception?
The first two volumes are packed with Greek mythology goodness, but stick around because we're going global with myths and folklore from every corner of the world as we move forward.
Let's see. 762 pages and I read it in about a week when things have been busy at work and I've been studying as well? Yeah, it appears that this book sucked up all of my free time and caused me to have a few short nights of sleep.
The characters were enjoyable and met my criteria of learning and evolving throughout the book. They have depth and not just the protagonist. While I would have preferred a bit more depth in some of the tertiary characters, that is just quibbling with things because the book would have needed to double in length to fit that in.
While the plot was fairly well done, it was reasonably predictable. The universe was interesting and did have an impact on the story itself.

I rounded up because I had trouble putting this book down.
I adore this book series, I’ve read up to a majority of book two and this story offers a wide range of experiences for readers and there is no shortage of plot threads to unravel as the story progresses. I would recommend this book to those who love fantasy, adventure, and books like Name of the Wind and Harry Potter. Excellent Read!
meh, Hogwarts/Percy Jackson litrpg mashup. same old terrible teachers with no interpersonal or social skills, there wouldn't be a story if there were any responsible adults available. weak storyline.
Terra Mythica is a promising new entry into the epic fantasy scene, blending Greek mythology with a fresh, imaginative magic system and a compelling cast of characters. The protagonist, Jace, shines with an array of mystical abilities creatively woven into the story, making him a standout.
One area where the series could grow is in showcasing the talents of the supporting cast. Clarifying the specific magical "Words" or techniques of each character and how they advance over time would add depth to their contributions, especially in battles or pivotal challenges. The RPG elements in the book are enjoyable, and though I’m not a fan of excessive stat dumps, I do appreciate a bit more detail in character progression and skill advancement.
This would give it that satisfying, “crunchy” texture that fans of games like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, or Secret of Mana will recognize, where every party member brings something essential to the table.
Even so, the story is an absorbing journey with great character interactions and a richly developed world. Fans of mythological fantasy and litRPG will find plenty to enjoy here, and I’m excited to see how this series develops. With continued focus on skill progression and team dynamics, future installments could take this world to new heights.
As far as I can tell, nearly every review both here on goodreads and on royal road is a review swap. They all also happen to give this story 5 stars for everything.
