I can't believe this is the last Kentbury book. We finally get Paul's story. There is so much more to that man then we we first met him. I feel for both characters in this one. They feel like they can't love who they do because they won't be accepted. This is a coming out journey for both characters. This quick read is packed full of emotion and feels. Damian has so much he holds on his shoulders and it broke my heart to see him so unhappy not being able to live his true self. The chemistry between Paul and Damian is off the charts hot. They get quite steamy! A good book to end this great series on. I'm glad Paul's grandma has an appearance. she was one of my favorite characters in this series.

Aaahhhh...i never thought I'd see the day when our boy Damien gets his HEA. I'm a huge fan of MM stories and Paul and Damien brought out the biggest smile by the end of this story...right before i shed an ugly tear or two.

Both are fighting their demons, Damien's are biggers then most and they almost cost him the only man he ever wanted. I loved him for doing the work when he finally found peace with his life.

This story was short but filled with want, desire and hope, that there's always hope for brighter and better.

Damien and Paul love each other, but in secret. Neither feels as if they can be public about their feelings and both have the weight of expectations of family and the community lying their shoulders. But when Paul decides he wants to be open about how he feels and who he loves, will Damien leave him? Paul's tired of being a secret and he's not sure he can keep in the shadows any longer.

I have so loved reading about the men and women of Kentbury and how they fall in love. Paul and Damien's love story is the perfect way to end this series. They're such lovable men both, and just can't seem to get past the fear of what the world might think if they're open about their feelings. I wanted to hug them both, especially Paul, as they grappled with love, and the expectations of family. I'm going to miss this small but loving town of Kentbury.

Claudia Burgoa has done it again! I absolutely loved New Year in Kentbury, an incredible small-town angsty love story, the seventh and final book in her Kentbury Tales series. Claudia Burgoa continues to show that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be a must-read author for me. It was impossible to put New Year in Kentbury down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. New Year in Kentbury is the story of Damian Harris and Paul McFolley. Damian and Paul are romantically involved, although neither one of them have let their families know that they are gay. A plot twist changes between them and Damian must make changes in his life to have a life with Paul. Love that Paul plays hard to get. Love that it takes a year to resolve the plot twist. I love the chemistry between Damian and Paul, their conversation flows so easily. I love the heart-to-heart conversations that happen in New Year in Kentbury, especially the one that Paul has with McKay and Damian has with his father. I love all the changes that Damian and Paul make in their lives to have a life with one another. I love the ending of their love story. Another favorite part of a Claudia Burgoa love story is always the epilogues that are the perfect ending of their love story. I love the future that Damian and Paul plan together. I love how Claudia Burgoa always manages to create the "perfect" couple, who balance each other. New Year in Kentbury is filled with the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in a Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments and plot twists that filled this page turner. I love the characters in New Year in Kentbury, they feel like family and friends. I loved catching up with the other characters in the series. Who does not love a family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed New Year in Kentbury, who does not love a small-town love story. New Year in Kentbury was bittersweet since I had to say goodbye to Kentbury and the McFolley family. Hoping to see them in future books as Claudia Burgoa hints at in her author’s note at the end of the story. Highly recommend this incredible love story. I received an advance copy from the author.

This is book seven and the final book in The Kentbury Tales series and it is Damian and Paul’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Damian is the oldest sibling descendant of Kentbury which is his legacy but along with it come pressure and he is also so busy and unable to just be himself and the person he wants to be because this is his calling in life so all he can do is keep trying to move forward while not letting the things that he wants and can’t have get to him because otherwise it could destroy everything that he had worked so hard to accomplish and achieve. Paul is divorced, wealthy, successful and now came to Kentbury to have some time to think while also connecting and spending time with his grandmother and siblings and then he met Damian and that one night changed everything but it also complicated both of there lives even more because neither could name what was happening or how they felt. Over time Paul falls in love with Damian who keeps Paul at arm’s length unless they spend the night together which is explosive for both of them and where as Paul wants a future and family with him Damian is still in the closet and will not make any type of commitment which had now put Paul in a difficult position so now Paul will have to make some tough decisions because he can’t keep going on like this as it is breaking him apart so he decided to walk away. When a love is so strong and important it will take everything that Damian and Paul have to fight for the happiness and future that they both want and deserve especially after everything that they had been through but there love for each other knows no bounds so regardless of what they have to do or the consequences involved nothing is more important than being together. Damian and Paul have many ups and downs and it was definitely not plain sailing but they are so perfect together and for each other and I am glad that they managed to sort everything out before they missed out of something so special. MM Romance is not a genre that I would normally read but this book was written with so much care and compassion along with having you feel all there emotions while reading it and I read it in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down and enjoyed reading it so much. I am really sad to get to the end of this amazing series but I definitely look forward to reading what Claudia Burgoa writes next.

New Year in Kentbury is a delightful addition to the Kentbury Tales series, offering a charming blend of romance, humor, and small-town charm that perfectly captures the spirit of new beginnings.

The story centers around Damian, a reclusive heir, and Paul, who is determined to break through Damian's guarded exterior. Their relationship unfolds against the backdrop of Kentbury, a town that feels like a character in its own right, rich with warmth and community spirit. I found myself immediately drawn into their world, as Burgoa masterfully weaves together themes of love, acceptance, and personal growth.

One of the standout aspects of this novella is the character development. Damian's journey from isolation to connection is both relatable and inspiring. Paul’s determination to help him open up adds depth to their romance, making it feel authentic and heartfelt. The chemistry between them is palpable, filled with tension and tenderness that kept me invested in their story.

Burgoa's writing style shines through in this novella. Her prose is engaging and flows smoothly, making it easy to immerse myself in the narrative. The pacing is well-balanced, allowing for moments of introspection alongside lighter, humorous exchanges that brought a smile to my face.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, there were moments where I felt certain plot points could have been explored further. A bit more backstory on Damian's past would have enriched his character even more and provided additional context for his struggles. However, this did not significantly detract from my overall enjoyment.

The small-town setting of Kentbury adds an extra layer of charm to the story. The supportive community and festive atmosphere create a perfect backdrop for new beginnings and rekindled relationships, making it an ideal read for the New Year.

Overall, New Year in Kentbury is a heartwarming novella that captures the essence of love and renewal. With its engaging characters and delightful storytelling, I would rate it 4 stars. If you’re looking for a sweet romance set in a cozy small town, this book is definitely worth picking up!

The final installment in the Kentbury series; New Year in Kentbury is a small town holiday romance that wraps up the series so well. This is a novella, so a shorter story, but nonetheless moving. It is also a MM romance, if that’s not your thing, kindly move on.

What do you get with a stressed out, dying under the pressure family heir? Damian Harris that’s what. As heir to the founding family legacy, Damian is expected to be the perfect person, take on the responsibility of the business and lead the family into the future. Frankly, he’s in over his head and doesn’t know what to do sometimes. When Paul McFolley moved to the small town from the “big city,” they became business partners and worked closely together, a spark begins to ignite, surprising both men. You see Damian has a secret, one that he isn’t ready to share with anyone, especially his family…..Yet.

Damian is such a complicated soul, and I felt for him in the small glance into his story that we received. He has spent so much of his life angry and tired, torn between what he wants and what his family expects of him. When Paul comes to town, their connection is passionate and emotional, you can tell how much they each mean to each other. However, Damian still has his demons and refuses to come out to his family, breaking poor Paul's heart. When the anger, pain and heartbreak (and his fathers pestering) finally boil over, Damian confesses, opens his private life, his emotions, his worries, his anger. All of it. Now he is out in the open and scared out of his mind, but also hopeful. Maybe he can finally start living the life that he wants with the person he loves.

What a journey it has been in the tiny town of Kentbury. Through it all Ms. Claudia has given us everything we could have wanted and more. I’m sad to see the series end, but I will definitely be visiting again!

What a beautiful way to wrap up the Kentbury Tales series! I have really enjoyed spending time in the small town of Kentbury for all the warmth, joy, community, and the allure of love. Damian Harris is drowning with all the pressure and responsibility to be perfect as the heir to the founding Kentbury family legacy. Paul McFolley is a big city guy who is now living in Kentbury. He became a business partner with Damian and their time together has brought them closer, and kindled their attraction to each other. They have a passionate relationship behind closed doors, but the pressures of his family and the town, keep Damian from admitting to his feelings for Paul. So Paul walks away with a broken heart. Damian continues running the lodge and other businesses, but nothing is the same without Paul in his life. Will Damian be strong enough to live his life for himself, and not for others, and earn Paul's forgiveness and love in return? This is a beautiful, and moving story with lots of heartfelt emotion and steamy passion. I really connected and cared for both Damian and Paul. They are complex characters, and I love how they are both so confident, how their families were very important to both of them, and their chemistry is explosive! My heart broke for the pressures and fear they endured, but then my heart soared when they finally found the courage they needed to feel worthy of love. Even though I'm sad to leave Kentbury, I loved this heartwarming, and irresistible sweet and steamy romance.

For the final time, welcome back to Kentbury! This novella is a great ending to the series with Damien and Paul’s story - it’s steamy and emotional and a great read.

Damien has been feeling the pressure of his family’s legacy. He is expected to take over the business and be head of the family. Paul had moved away from the city and has been working closely with Damien and they both have developed feelings for each other, but Damien insists they be kept a secret…

Paul is heart broken and eventually decides to part ways and Damien is now really struggling without him in his life. Will Damien continue living the life he believes others want him to, or will he start living his life for himself?

Damien and Paul have amazing chemistry and I loved them together. Their relationship and struggles felt so authentic and timely and I think both of these characters are going really resonate with readers.

Damien had put everyone else’s needs and expectations ahead of his own for so long as he struggled with his feelings for Paul. He has some serious soul searching to do. Paul is truly a beautiful soul and leaves Kentbury for a bit to do something soul searching of his own.

Be sure and read the epilogue!

This novella is the finale of the Kentbury series.
It’s a beautiful story about love and the courage to come out of the shadows and live life authentically, openly and most importantly, without shame.

“But even when he denies himself of . . . everything, I still love him. Every broken, complicated, maddening part of him.”

It’s incredibly sad how long Damian has lived his life with so much anger, pressure to be perfect, and feeling that he was not allowed to love freely. Every move he’s made, has always been with “what will others think” nagging at him. Years, he kept his relationship with Paul a secret. Until one day and a declaration of love by Paul, Damian had to end it all. There was no room in his life to be the man Paul deserved (or so he believed).

Their story, I would imagine, will resonate with so many readers. It is emotional and raw. The reader can feel Paul and Damian’s vulnerability and heartache.

It’s a beautiful story with an even more beautiful HEA.

I received a free ARC of this book and this review is only my opinion.

It is sad that our time in Kentbury is coming to an end, I've enjoyed every story! And as a final story we havevtight laced Damien finally facing all his fears, his need to be the perfect son and brother. Unfortunately these very problems cause a wedge between him and Paul. When Damien tells Paul he won't come out to his family fearing they won't understand and what the town will think, Paul walks away. He's had enough, regardless how much he loves Damien, he's tired of all the secrecy. He leaves Kentbury for a couple weeks and one time when he comes home he comes out to his family, who wondered when he was going to tell them. As months go by, Damien finds himself full of anger, because of Paul, his family's refusal to hear his plans for the resort, anger at himself for being a coward and when his dad pushes him to tell him what is bothering him he caves. Now he can begin to heal. This is a great story of love, acceptance and forgiveness. Claudia has again gifted us with a wonderful series.

A beautiful story to wrap up the Kentbury series. As with all of Claudia’s books it is filled with amazing characters, a beautiful love story and all the feels.

Paul and Damien both have some baggage, are afraid to share their feelings to the world but of have amazing draw to each other. They love each other fiercely but both have to work through their issues before they can commit to each other.

Paul wants is his family to listen to his business ideas and love him regardless of his lifestyle. He’s frustrated, fearful and not living his life as he wants.

Damien feels like he has to carry the load for his family. He’s also fearful of coming out and letting the community down. The interaction with his dad (Chapter 8) is heartwarming.

“Your only job should be learning to be happy. Your legacy isn’t the resort or town. It is the love you give your family.”

I love this series and am sorry to see it end. But, I know Claudia has more magical words to share with new amazing characters.

Well, here we are, at the end of the Kentbury Tales, and what a journey it’s been! The mystery surrounding Paul finally comes to light, and it’s worth the wait. At its core, this story is a love story, but it’s so much more than that—it’s a powerful coming-out journey. Paul and Damian's relationship isn't just about passion, it’s about understanding, acceptance, and learning to love without shame or fear.

The book is short, but it delivers an emotional punch. The chemistry between Paul and Damian is undeniable, and it doesn’t just show in the steamy moments but also in the quiet, tender ones. There’s a real sense of peace, hope, and desire that flows through the pages. You can feel the weight of their personal struggles and triumphs, and the way they come to embrace their love is genuinely uplifting.

It’s a bittersweet farewell to the Kentbury series, but what a satisfying conclusion. If you’re looking for a story that has heart, depth, and that beautiful feeling of love winning out in the end, this is one to pick up.

This was a heartbreaking emotional read.
The final book in the Kentbury series was both bittersweet and perfect.
What more can we ask for from this little town...Alpha males, strong females and loving families and friends. Its like we have immersed ourselves into their lives.
Damian and Paul was the perfect ending.
Having to keep their relationship quiet and in secret because of fear of what the town or their family might think, Damian ends his relationship with Paul deciding he needs to put everyone else first.
But their love does come out of the shadows when these two are goven a 2nd chance at their happily ever after.
I loved that this took time and I felt the pressure that they were under, to conform rather than putting their feelings first.
Loved their story... loved them.
Im going too miss Kentbury but hopefully will see more of these characters
Well done

And so the Kentbury Tales have come to an end with the angsty love story of Damian Harris and Paul McFolley. Damian is the last of the Kentbury children and as such feels a huge burden to be "perfect". Paul McFolley was married but always knew he wasn't being his true self! Damian and Paul had been having an elicit entanglement that they kept from their families as neither had admitted to being gay. After Paul admits to Damian that he loves him, but he can't be with him in secret anymore, all contact is severed. Can they find their way back to each other? Or is this truly the end?

Once again, Ms. Burgoa has written a beautifully crafted story that warms your heart and makes you root for a happy ending. The characters are both likable, their vulnerability and pain showing through in Claudia's words. A fitting end to the series, but I'm sure Kentbury will pop up in a later story.

Damien and Paul , oh how I absolutely adores these two . I really do feel like I’ve been waiting forever for Damien to get his story - now it’s here and phew it does not disappoint. The way both Damien and Paul grabbed onto my heart so tightly, how their story pulled at all my heartstrings and made me feel so many different emotions I never saw coming, the demons both faced in their lives and the peace and love they found with each other . I really feel like I went through it all with them . Smiling and laughing when they did , heart breaking and sobbing for some of the trauma they endured , and yes there were even times I found myself yelling outta pure frustration. What never wavered though was how invested I found myself by the complexity of their characters and their story and how hard I cheered from start to finish. New Year In Kentbury was and is one of the most beautifully written and emotionally charged love stories I’ve read this year .

Was able to read an early copy of the book and it’s one of the best in the Kentbury series. This story was filled with everything you want in a book about New Years to start a new year. It’s filled with love, hope, and renewal!

Each year Paul and Damion make new years the one time that is theirs. It’s the only time they can have. Both piled with expectations they know a rendezvous in the dark of night is all they will ever have, but Paul can’t take the pain of not having what he knows is forever. So is this new years their last or is it the start of a beginning they both deserve?

I loved seeing a vulnerable side to both Damion and Paul. We have gotten snippets of these two in all the other books but now we get them. Their story is so raw and emotional I couldn’t help but fall hard for them both.

A very beautiful read to start 2025 with!

I was looking forward to Paul McFolley’s story and seeing who he ended up with and was not disappointed. He and Damian were perfect together. They were both strong businessmen and both were always there to help their families through everything, but let their own needs suffer. I understood why Paul left the way he did, but it was exactly what they both needed to confront their secrets and come out to their families and put their own needs first for once. I love that Damian went to therapy to figure out how he could be a good sibling / son and still find his own happiness.
As always Ms. Burgoa drew me into Paul and Damian’s world, and I was invested in their stories and lives. I felt their love, their steam and their pain as they worked their way through to their HEA.

This story is simply beautiful!
Damian and Paul’s secret relationship had me torn. When Paul decides to stop hiding his true self, a heavy weight is lifted, but when he finally tells Damian he loves him, my heart shattered for him.
Damian isn’t ready to come out to his family and therefore, he puts his heart through the pain of losing the only person he’s ever loved intimately. When he realizes what he’s lost, he opens up to his family and receives unconditional love from them. This leads him to find professional help and going after the man he loves.
The chemistry between these characters is so HOT! Their love for each other is breathtaking.
Their story is fascinating and very engaging.
So if you’re into emotionally intense, passionate and heartfelt stories you will be very satisfied with Damian and Paul’s remarkably interesting and heartwarming story.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐲 is the 7th and final novella in the Kentbury Tales series by Claudia Burgoa, featuring an emotional MM romance for Paul and Damian. As they continue to meet up for secret trysts, growing feelings are at odds with concerns about family expectations, small town opinions, and business interests. It was hard to watch them struggle with their fears versus their desires. Thankfully, the heartbreaking moments were balanced out with some heartwarming moments, plot twists, and wonderful characters that have been a joy to read! Although it’s sad to see this series come to an end, I can’t wait to see what Ms. Burgoa comes up with next!

New Year in Kentbury is an adorable New Year’s Eve novella between Paul and Damian where they spend each New Year’s together because neither is ready to come out to their family about this sexual orientation, and once they fall in love, this leads to the, breaking up. During their year apart, they spend so much working on themselves, learning to be who they truly are, and how to feel accepted in their community which is all new as both had been hiding more about themselves for years than just who they like.

I loved the vulnerability in this book, but also the hopeful feeling that comes from a new year and that gives us the chance to take a leap in the new year, to take chances and risks. It gives the perfect vibes for a New Years book!

New Year in Kentbury is a wonderful conclusion to the Kentbury Tales series. We finally get Paul's story. This is sweet and has those heart aching moments too. This is an MM romance and you understand both sides of the struggle with these gentlemen. Damian is one of the last males in his family and is struggling to hold the business together and hiding who he really is. Paul is ready for more. You feel the chemistry so strong between Paul and Damian. You feel how scared both are. You feel the strength they both gather to finally start living their life the way they want to. I love how walls come down and how both families handle the coming outs. I love Paul and Damian so much. I could not put this down. You need to read this and the whole Kentbury Tales series today.

This is the final book in the Kentbury series. I think this book was the perfect way to wrap up this series.

Damian is first introduced in Knightly's book. We are lead to believe from that book that Damian is very much a womanizer and will probably never settle down. So what a surprise to see the Damian has been domesticated for sometime but was afraid that he would let his family and town down by admitting who he truly is. I loved that when Damian finally came out to his family that they accepted him as he was. Bishop wasn't as warm and welcoming as Damian has hoped but that was due to his disappoint in how he treated Paul and his taking so long to be okay with himself.

Paul was the first McFolley to come to Kentbury but was the last to find his happily ever after. Well the last to find it publicly in front of the town and his siblings.

This was the perfect ending to the series because all the Harris siblings found their place and found their special someone. I love that Claudia's character have to deal with past trauma in some way
but they ALWAYS seek help. They just don't heal themselves. I think this is an extremely important part of dealing with mental health. Not all of the therapy is for bad things that have happened to these characters. Sometimes the characters need someone to help them forgive and accept themselves.

I received an ARC of this this book from the author. All opinions expressed are my own. Thank you Claudia for this ARC and the opportunity to enjoy this series.

The last novella in the series. I don’t want to leave Kentbury behind, so I hope there will be references in future books so we can get small updates on all of the characters.
Paul and Damian have been friends-with-benefits for a while now, but nobody can know. But for Paul, he feels like it’s time to finally let everyone know, and how happy they can be together. But Damian is struggling with the coming out and they part ways. It’s just not that easy in a small town to avoid each other forever…
They took the long way round to finally get their HEA, but every heartache was worth it in the end. They had to cross those roads to find real love. And with the support of everyone around them, they were the perfect couple for the last book.

New Year in Kentbury was the last book in the series and what an amazing beautiful story. Even though it is short it still has amazing characters and takes you on an emotional journey!

Paul and Damien love each other but find they need to work out their issues before they can have any kind of relationship. Both have baggage and are afraid to share their feelings to their friends and family. Can they overcome this obstacle and finally get their happily ever after or will they end it and go separate ways? Can they express who they truly are deep inside to their family and friends? Can their love for each other help heal these wounds?

I loved reading this series and am sad to see it end. But, I know Claudia has more adventures, families and amazing words to share.

I am truly going to miss this wonderful little town!! New Year in Kentbury was the seventh and final book in Claudia’s Kentbury Tales series. It was a sweet and emotional ride!

Paul wasn’t sure he was going to stay in Kentbury until he met Damian. Their connection was something worth exploring even though it was only supposed to be casual. Somewhere during their time together, it turned into more but would they ever be able to go public?

I was so sad to see this was the last book in the series but it was a perfect ending!! Loved getting to see these two together and watching their emotional ups and downs. Paul and Damian had a lot against them but luckily they both fought for what they wanted. I really hope we get to see everyone again somewhere down the road!!

Kentbury has become such a special small town to me. I've enjoyed all the books in this series and each couples journey to finding their HEA. While I'm sad to see the series come to an end, New Year in Kentbury was the perfect conclusion.

Paul and Damian's story was woven in secrecy, but you don't doubt the love and connection between them. Paul is ready to live his life as his true self and come out, but Damian fears disappointing his family, and instead loses his only love.

While the fear of coming out was a huge part of their journey, it was written with care and heartfelt moments. You can count on Claudia Burgoa to always give the angst and heartbreak but trust that she will make it all better before the end.

New Year in Kentbury was a bittersweet read because it meant I had just finished the final book in this entertaining and well written series.
I love my visits to Kentbury so I was excited to finally get Damien and Paul’s story and I wasn’t disappointed. This quick read was the perfect book to finish the series on because it’s a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking journey for Damien and Paul as they live their life and keep their secret from the other residents of the small town of Kentbury.
So what happens when they decide it’s finally time to stop living in the closet…One click this gem to find out.
