In a world where loyalty and ambition collide, three individuals navigate the complexities of love, power, and betrayal. Isis Summers, a driven young woman with dreams of real estate success and a flourishing softball career, has always been focused on her goals. However, her past with Zaydyn "Plug" Brim, a street-smart architect with a hidden life in the drug trade, lingers in the background.
Zaydyn, haunted by the love he lost and the decisions they both made, has never fully let go of Isis. As he rises through the ranks of both the corporate world and the streets, his desire to reclaim what was lost burns stronger than ever. Meanwhile, Brandon, a man caught between his own desires and the reality of his situation with Isis, finds himself entangled in a relationship that’s far from what he envisioned.
As these three lives intersect, their choices set the stage for a tumultuous journey filled with passion, pain, and the relentless pursuit of what they believe is rightfully theirs. In this gripping tale of ambition and love, the past and present collide, forcing each person to confront their deepest fears and desires.
This book was a BOOKCLUB pick and my first princess Chanel book. I liked the fact that the FMC was a softball player and had her own money. I also pair this book with a reading challenge I am doing because the spice parts in this book was good. I cannot wait until my BOOKCLUB discuss this book because I feel like this will be a great book to discuss.
Don't be like me and read the other Xae's story first....lol.
Zay and Isis were next door neighbors who fell in love. They had a plan for their lives, go college become successful as an architect and professional softball player. Isis gets pregnant, decides to abort the baby, and leave Zay. Zay spiraled and became a menace in the street while Isis starting dating no good Brandon. They were each successful but unhappy.
Zay decided time was up, and he was going to get his woman. Brandon on his way out and said nope not happening. He becomes more obsessed with Isis and wants her back especially when he finds out she is now dating the plug.
He spots them at a restaurant while on a date with Regina his baby mama. He loses it and decides to rob Zay. He shoots Isis, big mistake. Now Zay and Xae are coming for him and death is his only way out.
PRINCESSS!!!!! I can’t believe you did us like that! First off, I loved how Isis bossed tf up on Brandon no good ssa! He didn’t deserve her & I’m so happy she chose herself! Then to bring in Zayden with the BDE. “She don’t want no puppy, she want a BIG DOG!” Lol he applied just enough pressure for sure! For so much time apart, they knew they needed one another. They needed this growth separately. Brandon & Reagan showed how unstable they are & I hope they get whatever it is coming to them. I like how Killa & India told it how it was & moved accordingly! Xae is funny asf & the fact the Mariah is Lady X is mind blowing 🤯 I’m looking forward to what’s next!
Now I’m sitting here mad!!! I need book 2 now! Got me on the edge of my seat. I felt like I was in a movie.
Ok seriously this was one of the best drama filled book! The author Princess Chanel did her damn thing with this one! I told all my book friends to read it lol
It got straight to the point and I love that! The title is what drew me in and it didn’t disappoint at all!
Brandon definitely pissed me off. I was cursing him out the entire time! He was irking my nerves.
Iris deserves everything. I love how boss she was. She was the definition of a top notch woman.
This is a page turner for sure. It will have you on the edge of the seat the entire time. Clearly I finished it one day!
This is my first book by Princess Chanel and I must say I am pleasantly pleased. She made me fall in love with yet another dynamic duo. Because Zaydyn and Xae are the truth. I love Isis as well strong FMCs are the wave and Isis did not disappoint. I can’t wait for book 2!
Princess! I enjoyed this… I’m rooting for Isis. To be stuck between a no good man and a second chance with the love of your life !!! I can’t wait to see what happens next
It’s fast paced but the drama is good! I can’t wait for the second book. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I felt like some things were too repetitive. Other than that it was an amazing read!!
Baby it’s the audacity for me!!! I can’t wait until part 2 drops because Zaydyn and Xae are about to shut the city down about Isis as they should and I can’t wait for Brandon to get his karma…
I loved this story I’m so happy for ice and the plug! Xae was so funny to me 😂😂😂😂. For this to be Princess Chanel first release, I’m going to have to read everything you write !!!!
Isis and Brandon are some interesting characters. The relationship canr off toxic, but is it the two of them, or is there something else. The read dragged a little for me well overv50% ofvthe read, but it picked up, and we have some gunplay. What's to be expected?
What a debut . I thoroughly enjoyed this . Isis and Zayden are match made in heaven. Xae is hilarious and my favorite character. Now Brandon and Regina are two hot messes . I am going right into book 2 . Bravo to Princess Chanel .
I don’t even want to read book 2. This writing was crazy and confusing. The redundant details were literally the whole book. The reuniting for Zayden and Ice should have been more fulfilling, it was just too quick. Like my 3 rating is to be nice but thisssss needs work.
This was my first read by this author but not my last. This was a good book. I hate Brandon and I know its bad that I'm hoping the woman hit is Regina. This is definitely a good read. I can't wait to read part 2.
This was a good read. I love Isis and her supported family. Zaydyn and Xae had BDE in everything they did. Brandon was a piece of crap and Regina was a lost woman searching for love that would never come. I hate Brandon couldn’t grow up.
Glad I have part two already downloaded cause it definitely ended on a cliffhanger! Enjoyed this book so far and the characters. The dialogue is raw and relatable! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
I loved it Everytime I tired to put it down for a minute I found myself picking it right back up. I can't wait for part 2 you rock boo keep going. I'm proud of you
So me and my book club crew decided to dive into Daddy’s Butterfly, but your girl needed a little background, and baybee, I am SO glad I went back and read this first!
Zaydyn? He was everything Isis needed. Brandon? Absolute trash. Bagged. Curbside. Pick up by noon. 🙄
His obsession with Isis was beyond tired and extremely misplaced. Sir, she is not trying to spin the block for a man she’s clearly outgrown, especially when there’s a real one like Zaydyn stepping up and showing her what it means to be protected, loved, and chosen.
This book gave mess, plot, and a sprinkle of chaos in the best way. The plan that unfolded? Yeah, I was locked in the whole time. Zaydyn brought that strong but silent energy, and I loved watching Isis lean into her worth while dodging Brandon’s clingy, delusional nonsense.
How you gon’ fumble a queen and then get mad when she upgrades to a hero? Like… be serious. 😂
Now I need to hurry up and grab Part 2, because I’m not leaving this story unfinished. If you’re into drama with a strong female lead and a street king who knows how to move in silence but love loudly? Add this one to your list.
